Podobało mi się, że apartament zajmował całe piętro, dzięki temu mieliśmy większe poczucie prywatności. Na duży plus toaleta i łazienka, bardzo wygodne, w osobnych pomieszczeniach, co było dla nas sporym ułatwieniem. Duża dbałość o porządek, codziennie dostawaliśmy zestaw świeżych ręczników, a śmieci były skrupulatnie wynoszone (na wszelki wypadek dostawaliśmy też dodatkowe worki). Przemiły właściciel, bardzo kontaktowy nawet pomimo pewnej bariery językowej. Obiekt leży w pewnym oddaleniu od największych atrakcji Kioto, ale komunikacja jest na tyle sprawna, że nie był to problem.

• Jorge (9/5): - The rooms are big and have a lot of space, they are in an entire floor, it has some chairs and a big table so you can take food to the room and eat it comfortably. The beds are wide and the staff brings new towels every day. It's very close to stations, and a 45 minutes walk to the main shopping area of Kyoto so it's not really far. The host was very helpful and attentive, gave some information about how to reach quickly some stations and a close laundry shop, since the apartments where we stayed didn't have a laundry.

• Samantha (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. - Good access to what we wanted to see. There was enough space for 4 of us. Each suite is on its own floor. The kitchen only had a fridge, kettle, microwave, spoons, mugs and a kitchen knife. I would hope for plates, forks/chopsticks and knives also. I guess with the proximity to Family Mart & 7-11 those are not necessary if you are buying ready-made meals.

• Steve (10/5): Amazing time and so much room! - Staff was AMAZING!!! Very helpful and kind. Room was very spacious and comfortable beds. So close to the train station and food is everywhere near by and great! The man who greeted us and runs the place is the best part. He was so helpful and willing to help with anything we had a question for. Would for sure stay again if coming back to Kyoto. Only downside is your on the main road which can get noisy at night, especially when we heard the chanting monks at 11pm one night but kinda cool to hear.

• Nancy (10/5): Pleasant and confortabie - After 3 weeks of dealing with tablets and automated messages in other hotels, It was a breath of fresh air having such a pleasant person welcoming us, explaining us the check in process and accommodation facilities. The place was very comfortable, I would have loved having a washing machine there, but other than that it was a nice and comfortable place for 4 people. 👌 Pillows, to small pillows.

• Takaya (10/5): 家族向けにおすすめ - 受付の方が大変良かった。22時受付終了の所30分遅延したが、嫌な顔ひとつせずに、笑顔で丁寧にご対応いただけた。近場の駐車場や、銭湯も教えて頂いた。 ただホテル前は大通りで駐車スペースがないので注意が必要。 4人で泊まりましたが、ベッド4台の前に畳で座れる広いスペースがあり快適でした。畳スペースには、机、化粧台もあり。 お風呂の前には脱衣所があり、トイレと別なのが良かった。また、脱衣所ではなく、部屋の化粧台で髪が乾かせるので、風呂を待たずに入れたのも良かった。 部屋も綺麗で良かったです。

• Brent (6/5): Be careful - - Very nice owner, but it's more of a guest house. It was hard to check in, we had to wait while Hotels.com tracked him down as there is no reception. Also no parking at all even though the listing says there is. Nice room, nice place, again very nice guy once we tracked him down. This is a decent option but it's not as advertised.

Note it looks like a small takeout restaurant when you look in the door, but there is a wooden sign out front that says guesthouse in small letters. Each floor is a separate room. Good WiFi. Many small paid parking lots within a block of the property. Many restaurants nearby.
• Glenn (10/5): Nice - Because of personal reasons, only my mom could check in with my family on the first day. They only speak Chinese, and don’t speak English or Japanese, so it was a bit hard to communicate. Thank you very much for your patience and help. There were no mosquitoes in June. It was raining all the time, but the dehumidifier worked well, and the humidity stayed around 60–70%. The air conditioner also worked fine. The location is convenient, close to the station. There’s no breakfast, but it’s easy to buy breakfast nearby since there are many shops. Sometimes I will confuse myself with the sound of rain and the sound of neighbors shower. Our sleep situation won’t be disturbed, but please keep quiet to avoid disturbing other neighbors.

• Lim (8/5): Kyoto big space - Great location, only 3 train stop to downtown to have Ichiran Ramen. Paid carpark is few steps away behind the building. Host is a Korean and patiently speak English to help us. 4 Queen bed in a room, so it's very spacious and big room with microwave, kitchen sink and dining table. Great for 8 to 10people. Happy that it has a lift to level 5 single unit. Being charge city tax 200Yen per person. This is not being told in advance and it comes as a surprise to me. Went many places but none request for city tax. Toilet a bit small and cold floor. Cold toilet seat without bidet.

The TV channels were in the Japanese language. It would be good to have one or two channels in the English language. The bathroom space was small compared to the room, and there was a space next to it to change clothes.

It is very well located, in a calm area, close to the city center and any places of interest. The subway station was close. However you need to know that you’ll pay a city tax for every night once you arrive at the hotel, it was not clearly stated when I booked it. Otherwise the host was nice. City tax we had no idea about

Perfect location for train to Arashiyama Forest - one of my favourite days in Kyoto with the Monkey Forest, river boat, Tenryu Temple gardens, Arashiyama town with all the Kimono hire shops, sweet stores, souvenir stores, tea ceremonies, etc. Like many places we stayed in Japan - our 5 year old didn’t warrant a bed. So she shared a small double with our 10 year old and the host very kindly got us an extra blanket. I thought 2 doubles and 2 singles would be enough, but the double bed was far too small for my husband and I to share.

Thank you so much. - Sarangbang provides amenities like tooth brush, shampoo, conditioner and body soap, daily change of fresh towels, tea and clearing of trash. We enjoyed the privacy of one room per level. It is literally just 1-2 minutes walk from the Saiin train station and there are many restaurants, convenience stores and a mall nearby. It’s also just 2 stops from the main Kyoto shopping district. Not to forget the super friendly and helpful Mr Chung Sidong. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. Nothing at all.

The place is tidy and clean when we get home after a long day tour in Kyoto. The location is also superb! Lots of restaurants, convenient stores, metro- and bus stations nearby. Overall, we had a comfortable stay at Sarangbang and we highly recommend this place! Noise from vehicles outside :(

Room was clean and beds comfortable enough. We had a large table with regular sized chairs. Supermarket was 5 minute walk where we could pick up meals to microwave. Kitchen (microwave and electric kettle) was very small but the owner supplemented the dishes as needed. Owner was very accommodating. Elevator took us up to the 5th floor. Bathroom was cold mostly at night. We visited in mid-March. Reception area had the smell of cigarette smoke. We were given a code for the front door as well as our room. Owner was not usually around unless you told him the time for check-in. Building was quite far from the train station and we needed to travel by bus.
• Connor (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were awesome and friendly. Always keen to have a chat and help us out. The daily collection of rubbish and towels was convenient. Close to the station as well. If any constructive criticism at all was given it would be that the reception area smells like smoke. That is if any one is sensitive to it.
