- Stephen (10/5): Great location lovely staff . Beautiful bedroom and the breakfast was excellent - Proper traditional english pub feeling on entering . Nothing
- Angeliki (10/5): - Amazing rooms, incredible food and great staff - especially Mack who made our time there so special! Nothing - it was all perfect!
- Sergio (10/5): A gem in the heart of Imlington - The pub is simply amazing, with its historical features from the 1600. It has a beautiful pub area with a stunning fireplace. The room we stayed in, the old beams, was incredible. Spacious, with these beautiful old beams on the ceiling, and a clean and modern bathroom.
The breakfast was a 10/10 and the staff were very welcoming and efficient. We stayed for 2 nights and had our Easter lunch at the pub which was delicious. I highly recommend it and look forward to be back again.
- William (10/5): - The styling it was amazing

- Ron Weston (10/5): A rare gem. - With its old world charm and ever so friendly staff it was like turning the clock back to an era where the customer really did matter. The incredible quiet during the night was something to look firward too. There was absolutely nothing i didn’t like but the addition of fluffy bathrobes would have been nice.
- Ron Weston (10/5): Truly a gem! - The attention to detail and the enthusiasm of the staff, all the staff. The breakfast and dinner, the bar choices, all first class. The weather.
- Tom (9/5): Stunning stay. Would love to go back and stay again around Xmas - Whole place is stunning. Bedrooms are massive and bed is comfy and clean. Breakfast was really nice too My only critique would be. There was a dog constantly barking outside at around 8am - probably one of the neighbours who ch the place has no control over
- Jim (9/5): - Great stay in a beautiful Cotswold village - excellent breakfast, great rooms and very comfortable bed
- Carol (10/5): -
- Julian (10/5): Just what we were looking for! - Very comfortable, beautifully appointed room with ensuite bathroom - with shower AND bath!
Breakfast very good - and an excellent restaurant for dinner.
Plenty of free, off road, parking. Always feels a bit odd having to order breakfast the evening before...

- Palazzo (10/5): Exceptional - All the staff are so welcoming and helpful. Beautiful room overlooking the green with a most welcome fan in the heatwave. Excellent dinner in the restaurant and a joy to sit out in the garden as such a hot evening, Lovely breakfast in the main dining area. Stunning flower dispay on the dresser, Second visit. We will return!
- Miller (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucy (10/5): Cracking as always! Thanks team X - Return trip to one of our favourite country pubs
- Liz (9/5): Great place to eat and sleep in a lovely village. - We chose the Howard Arms as a good place to stay as it is not far from Hidcote Gardens. We also wanted somewhere that served food on a Sunday evening, which is sometimes difficult to find. The Howard Arms was a good choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was comfortable and well equipped (we even had a fan in the room which was important because it was really hot whilst we were there). We ate in the dining room on both evenings and the food and service were very good. Breakfast was also just what we wanted and served with a smile. We didn't find anything we didn't like. It was all just as expected. Great to stay somewhere where all the staff are friendly.
- Jing (10/5): High standard stay in the Cotswolds - I could not recommend this hotel enough - every aspect has exceeded our expectation. The rooms were spacious and immaculate. The amenities are thoughtfully placed and had everything you can think of. Breakfast was included in the rate and the portion was very generous. Wish we could stay for longer! Can’t think of anything, everything was great :)
- Julie (10/5): Wonderful, friendly, comfortable stay!! - Amazing selection and service Nothing!!!
- Steven (10/5): Fantastic country pub with massive rooms - Brilliant country pub, outstanding food and room, but the staff really were superb in every area Nothing
- A (10/5): - Superb place to stay-a real gem. Nice people and lovely food. Thank you all.
- William (10/5): What really stood out, though, was the staff – friendly, thoughtful, and genuinely accommodating. - The Howard Arms has a warm, inviting feel to it. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds extremely comfortable – I had a great night’s sleep. The chef even came in early at 6:15 to prepare breakfast for us before we left, which was above and beyond. A really lovely stay. There wasn't anything I didn't like about my stay.
- Jack (10/5): - Beautiful property and rooms, excellent breakfast, super friendly staff, highly recommend!
- Alan (10/5): One of the best hotels I've found during a long life. - Cannot praise this hotel too highly. Rooms, facilities and food just exceptional on all measures; staff unfailingly helpful and polite, and astonishingly attentive without being in the least overbearing. A beautiful garden to add to the pleasure.
- Emily (9/5): Superb -
- Alan (8/5): Excellent short stay in beautiful location. -
- Steve (10/5): Lovely Hotel for Cotswolds Trip - Food & breakfast were ideal. Room had a lot of charachter. Nothing
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - The location was excellent. A not yet discovered part of the Cotswolds. Beautiful area with nice walk up the hill to see sheep and their lambs before dinner.
- Sylvia (10/5): Fantastic Stay - The hotel was a little out of the way in a small village and it was wonderfully quiet there. The room was very cosy, the staff very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the WLAN worked very well. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were excellent. There was plenty of parking right next to the hotel. It was a shame that I could only stay there for one night as my holiday was over. I would stay there again at any time.
- Roy (8/5): Very good - Very pleasant atmosphere like going back in time TV not working
- MarilynBill (10/5): - Tucked in a quiet village yet close to many other Cotswold experiences we loved our stay here. Rooms are spacious and comfy, staff are friendly and helpful and it was nice to come home to the pub and restaurant after a long day of exploring.
- Sarah (10/5): Fabulously cute pub, restaurant and hotel, very welcoming! - Such a pretty setting and made to feel very welcome. Beautiful place to rest and relax whilst visiting local area. Clean and very friendly staff. We love this place. Viv was brilliant and made our trip complete with very friendly manner and humour. She’s a diamond! The whole experience was lovely and we love to keep returning here. Everything was brilliant!
- Keith (10/5): It was a delightful stay. - It was a delightful stay. The room was excellent and the food, service and staff were amazing. The setting is beautiful. We couldn't fault it!
- Alexander (10/5): A perfect country retreat - Very friendly atmosphere with welcoming staff and a great feel to the rooms and pub. The food was tasty (we ate in the restaurant twice) and it is in a beautiful, quaint village. Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): Superb stay at The Howard Arms - The accommodation was homely and comfortable in a stunning location. The staff were personable and friendly. Each morning, we were greeted warmly for breakfast. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend visiting this gem and hopefully, we will get the opportunity to stay again! What's not to like?!
- Yvonne (8/5): Cozy Hotel, lovely rooms, great breakfast. It was a very relaxing, very clean place. - Bed was super comfortable. The food was great s Sloping ceiling, we banged our heads so many times.
- Sharon (10/5): Would recommend highly! - Beautiful location and most enjoyable stay.
- Craig (10/5): - Had a lovely 2 night stay , stayed in the summer room which we could not fault .
Service in the pub area very good and ate the first night in the pub restaurant which again was great .
- KEITH (10/5): - From the moment we stepped through the door to one of the nicest welcomes we have had at a hotel to the moment we left was just perfect. Our room, ‘The Study’ was superb, and so clean and comfortable, and the decor and design is beautiful. Welcome tray with great selection of teas and cafetière for coffee. We slept so well. The dining room is amazing as are all the staff, and again one of the best breakfasts ever. Howard Arms you are amazing, we will be back. Thank you Keith & Gwen
- Milana (8/5): - The staff were absolutely lovely, and the breakfast spread was one of the best I've had at a B&B. My only suggestion would be that I noticed a few spiders behind the headboard and curtain, along with some dust and cobwebs in a couple of areas, which gave the impression that those spots hadn't been used in a while. Aside from that, I couldn't find anything to fault.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): - Ilmington is a charming village and it is still unspoilt by tourism and traffic. It is so bucolic as the sheep graze on the hills surrounding the village and the quiet of the night is worth the price of admission. We loved the Howard Arms. The Village room was spacious and had loads of history and beautiful features. Breakfasts were plentiful with good options. We will definitely stay here again if we return to this part of the Cotswolds.
- Amanda (10/5): Outstanding in every way. - Everything about The Howard Arms goes way beyond expectations; it is a wonderful mixture of old and new.. a very old, beautiful historic building but with all the modern touches you need. The room was huge and had everything, down to very high quality tea and coffee. The dining room is spacious and very slightly quirky. The food was excellent and not crazily expensive, as was the wine. Staff were friendly and efficient.
- Julia (10/5): Very enjoyable indeed and hope to go back soon. - Gorgeous building set In lovely Ilmington.
Loved the log fire and armchairs.
Staff were really professional and very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.
Food excellent.
Very well run establishment that delivers quality and charm in abundance. Nothing
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (8/5): A recent discovery and will definitely return. - Brilliant short stay, very comfortable, food to a very high standard. Charming village within reach of numerous places of interest. Personal opinion but real ale in the bar is too chilled, compromises it's character.
- Charles (10/5): Cozy pub, delicious food, lovely staff. - The Howard Arms is fantastic. The pub with the low ceiling, beams and large fire was perfect to sit in with one of their local beers. The food was amazing, we had the fish and a steak. Both cooked brilliantly. Our room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was included and we ordered from the menu the night before. All ready for us in the morning. There was a car park so we could come and go very easily and it was in a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. I would absolutely stay again the next time I am in the area. I liked everything.
- Natalia (10/5): - A lovely inn in the Cotswolds and close driving distance to many other little towns. Everyone was very friendly and hospitable and the rooms were just as depicted. Would definitely recommend!
- Philip (9/5): I would certainly go back. - A very warm and personal welcome. Great location on the green of a lovely village, well worth a wander round.
Excellent dinner and good breakfast, comfortable and enchanting rooms The duck on the evening menu was very expensive, considering it was just two pieces of meat. Tasty, certainly, but could have been more substantial.
- Kevin (9/5): we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it - the room was spacious although the bathroom was a little small but acceptable. the settee lounger was far too small to use and needs updating
- Bonita (10/5): - Loved our stay at the Howard Arms! Surprised on the upside by the welcoming and friendly staff, the coziness of the bar and restaurant which was clearly a magnet for the local community, felt authentic and welcoming! Enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the evening, and an incredibly generous breakfast which we did not manage to finish due to the sumptuous dinner the night before! Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the surrounding Cotswold villages if you want something cosy and authentic!
