Guest Reviews
- Richard (6/5): - This hotel appears to be for people spending one or two nights before safari. The room was clean and comfortable, the food was pretty good and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The area is very busy and noisy. There was a lot of construction in the area and a lot of street congestion.
There is a bank a couple of blocks away with a guard for ATM withdrawal.
- Sheila (10/5): - The staff was exceptional and I had a very comfortable stay!
- Steve (6/5): - The people were friendly. The free breakfast was average.
- Travis (10/5): - Very comfortable bed and pillows. Staff was fantastic - we were leaving before breakfast on our last day and they kindly packed us to go boxes. Highly recommend!
- Wayne (8/5): - If you want to stay in the middle of Arusha's city center, this place is worth a look.
- Amir (2/5): - Not what they are advertising
Rooms are cramps
Restaurants service very very poor
Baby cockroaches on the dining table
No attention from restaurant manager
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pretty safe, good for shopping/services in Central Arusha
- Dr. Zakaria (4/5): - The price and th service was not good...the hotel is expensive... Thw food expensi6and npt good at all.
- Ali Reda (2/5): - - Bathroom lights not working in one of the rooms
- Noisy air conditioning in one of the rooms
- No hot water in shower, only mildly warm
- Kettle not working in one of the rooms
- Broken shower head in one of the rooms
- Rubbish breakfast (both dine in and takeaway)
- Early checkout at 10am
- Not very central
- Staff unwilling to repair things, only switch your room
- No bottled water in the rooms
- Smoky smell
- Extortionate prices for airport transfers (actual cost is 1/5 of what they quote)
- Expensive for what it is 1 or 2 stars at most
- Darwin (8/5): - Decent mid-range hotel in convenient location in city centre of Arusha…main drawbacks are inaccuracies Expedia lists for this hotel. Even with paid upgrade to Premium room, we found no hair dryer nor safe nor robes—despite Expedia listing all of those as standard with the rooms. This place is not “premier”; but it’s friendly, convenient, safe, and with decent full breakfast included.
- Crystal (6/5): - Perfectly suited for a stop over. Beds are clean, showers are good. Breakfast was included.
- Marie-Leah (8/5): - Room was clean, washroom needs upgrade.
- Natalie (8/5): - Staff were very nice and good location for the market area.
- Kadra (8/5): - Great place to stay post safari. Clean space, staff are amazing. Would recommend.
- Seth (10/5): Venus Hotel review - The hitel is located close to the centre city area. Good location for the cost!
- Patrick (10/5): - Great property, very clean and modern. Staff are always nice and helpful. Only mark down is for location as it’s “off the beaten path” but I like it as you get to feel and experience the “pulse” of Arusha City.
- Michael (10/5): - Clean hotel with good air-conditioning, dining and wifi.
- Ian (10/5): Lovely stay in downtown Arusha - The Venus Premier is a comfortable, clean, conveniently-located, stylish hotel in downtown Arusha with very accommodating service.
- Alain (8/5): - Staff are very gentle, food too salty and limited breakfast
- Darwin (8/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful. I has problem with not one but the first two rooms. They did fix the problems so “3rd time’s a charm”. Bathroom clean and in good condition. Room also nicely arranged. (The first room was missing the safe that was listed on Expedia.)
- Byerly (10/5): A hidden gem - I was volunteering in the area for a month. The Venus was my weekend respite. A wonderful treat. Friendly staff!, hot water, water pressure, black out curtains, working TV, air conditioning, power….among other things. The food was very good.
- Malin Agneta (10/5): - Great place to stay! Loved the food.
- nicholas (8/5): - Good value
- Mas-udah (4/5): Upgrade needed - We stayed at the hotel on 2 separate occasions as we’d booked a 3 day safari. The group was collected from the hotel. Best thing about the hotel was Vega Restaurant dinner, catering mainly Indian, Asian and Swahili dishes (very good). Staff at the hotel were friendly & accommodating, also providing us with breakfast boxes due to very early flights. The cons: major upgrade needed to the rooms; lights were very dim; cleanliness was an issue (shower door was grubby); water pooled terribly while using the shower (it was so bad); towels were thin & had seen better days; one sheet had holes in it; curtain did not close properly (I pinned it with safety pins); hairdryer faulty. This could be a much better hotel if only more attention and care were given to upgrading it. The staff cannot be faulted at all. I’ve travelled extensively and never seen a hotel that provided sheets in such a poor condition. Next time I book a safari in Tanzania, I’ll choose a different hotel in Arusha!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent!
- Sushma (8/5): - The towels were torn
- Mike (10/5): Possibly the best hotel in Tanzania.. - Easy to find location close to centre of town. Welcome exceptional, Front of House very efficient and polite. I was invited to the Christmas Cake StirUp, which was a lovely event. Room had all the facilities you would expect and a more. WiFi very good. Only tried the Indian food in the restaurant but anywhere that has its own tandoori oven is making a statement, and they did not disappoint. Breakfast was another treat of local and Indian foods. Again, very clean and exceptional service. This is now my "Go To" hotel in Tanzania.
- kp (10/5): - Stayed 2 nights for business. I thought the hotel was ideal. Extremely clean, modern rooms, good restaurant. Right price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I travel frequently for work and can honesty say this hotel is excellent. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and a drink and checked in in under 30 seconds. The room was very clean and shower excellent. Highly recommended
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Modern hotel. Walls are thin and noise travels easily.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable rooms and clean, well maintained facilities. The restaurant was good and staff were friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was an unexpected gem in Arusha! There was a glitch in our reservation and so we had no reservation but management was able to accommodate us for the same price l thought I had thru Expedia. Given the conditions in Arusha, we were not expecting to find a new-looking, modern, clean and well appointed hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised and the very nice, moderately priced restaurant/bar we're a BIG plus! We have nothing but good to say about the entire stay!
- Colin (10/5): - My fiancee and I always enjoy our stay here. We.love the food the most! Everything tastes great, especially their fish.
The staff is friendly and accomodating. If there is an issue they take care of it swiftly. We stay here whenever we're in Arusha.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel is not real - This hotel does not exist! We could not find it, when we called, we were refused information on how to get here. Working with Hotels.com as this is a fraud!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful friendly accommodating greeting after a long exhausting flight. Comfortble, clean , great staff. Given room with a view of Kilimanjaro without having to ask! Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Poor Wi-Fi reception in the room; limited breakfast, friendly staff
- Aziz (10/5): - Very clean hotel, friendly staff and good good selection.
- Osams (8/5): - Decent Hotel close thoneht Arusha clock tower and other monuments in arusha
- Verified traveler (8/5): After safari stay - Nice place to stay after a safari, proper shower, which was important. Had lunch at the restaurant, was pretty good. The hotel also has transportation if you want to explore Arusha. Close to the central market, but I did not walk around the area.
- jim (10/5): - They treated us great!
- Sharath (10/5): Business hotel with all amenities in Arusha - Great staff and hotel. Highly recommended if you are looking for a decent stay in the heart of Arusha.
- MDDO (10/5): - Nicer than expected. Only thing is a bit of noise from the hallway due to all hard surfaced floors in rooms and hallway. Food at restaurant was eclectic and good. Go to rooftop for views of city and Mt Meru
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Newer hotel with hotel wide Wi-Fi. Restaurant is ok.
- pali (8/5): Clean and value for money - Some of the staff are not friendly no smile
There were one or two with smile
When we first check in there was no smile or any nice greetings from the reception
Food was good
Overall good
- Deb (10/5): - Nice hotel in heart of Arusha convenient for all your operators.
- Molly (10/5): Brilliant hotel, just what I needed!! - I booked this hotel after climbing Kilimanjaro and then doing a safari! After 11 days of camping I was so happy to come and have a lovely stay in Arusha. I was welcomed with a drink on arrival and check in was fast and easy, staff were very friendly and so kind! My room was amazing lots of room clean and the shower was brilliant hot water and it was spacious and very powerful, couldn’t have wished for more! Room service was great I ordered lots of food and it was brought to me with a big smile, couldn’t have asked for better. I was leaving early to go to Nairobi check out was easy and all professional and the lobby was very enjoyable while I waited for my transport! Recommend this hotel and defiantly would come again! Thank you for making my stay enjoyable!
- Antony (8/5): Good option for business travelers - This is a good option for business travelers to Arusha. Centrally located, the buffet breakfast was good and there is a well stocked bar for early evening drinks. The neighbourhood is a bit run down but I didn't feel unsafe at any time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable room, bathroom with great water pressure. Small lift but able to fit 2 people with luggage. Very friendly staff. Very close to downtown Arusha
- Vaiva (10/5): Comfortable place - Very nice stay. Helpfull and very polite staff.
Good and not so expensive restaurant with plenty to choose from. We left our suitcases at the hotel while were on safari. Highly recommend this place before and after safari.
- Keith (8/5): Good hotel - The staff were fantastic and looked after us well, especially Suresh who always promptly answered my emails before we arrived. The food was lovely and the room was very clean. The market is near the hotel and I did get a bit of hassle when I visited it.
- yas (10/5): Great, Professional Service - Nice, new, clean hotel. Staff were very polite and helpful. Beds are comfortable. Restaurant has good Indian food options. Hotel staff were able to find a reliable driver at a good price for the day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Venus Premier Hotel - The hotel was amazing. As a fan of cold beverages, the only aspect I found fault with was the lack of refrigeration. Otherwise it was a wonderful hotel.
- Kenneth (10/5): Nice Place in the Center if the City - The staff were excellent and the facilities were clean and comfortable. The restaurant was great. Everyone went out of the way to make sure our stay was perfect. The only drawback is that it is located in the very center of Arusha which can be a little overwhelming as it is crawling with guys trying to take you on tours or take you shopping. They are most concentrated at the Central Market which is 2 blocks away. If you are looking for a nice place to stay for a day or two before or after a safari, this place is perfect and not too far from the airport.
- Bob (10/5): Great hotel for our business trip - Hotel was modern and clean. Staff was extremely helpful, especially in arranging ground transportation. Food at the restaurant is delicious.
