Please note on weekends the property has a Dj from 13:00 to 17:00.
The boat transportation from Cartagena to Tierra Bomba Island is not included, it costs COP 50000 each way, per person. Boat Schedule Monday to Sunday 10 am, 1130 am, and 4:45 pm. Departures are from Bodeguita pier, door 1. For the arrival to the hotel please contact them directly. Departure schedules will be provided at the hotel. Please note the property accepts daypasses.

- Nikki (10/5): A gorgeous stay and alternative to the resorts on Isla Baru! - Such a beautiful place and wonderful stay. A great alternative to Isla Baru and some of the further more expensive resorts that are found there. We loved our stay on Blue Apple Beach. The food was superb, the room was exceptional and comfortable, the atmosphere was calming and lovely, the sunsets was gorgeous, and we fell in love with the sweet cats and dogs that call this place home. The beach is not as nice as those found on Isla Baru but Blue Apple Beach creates such a magical experience it more than makes up for it.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice setting for short stay - Nice setting, worth getting a cabana. Limited to only food and drink from the hotel, surrounding area not suitable for exploring. Set menu for dinner is OK. Breakfast is good. Shared use of some facilities with staff detracts from the specialness of the resort.
- Jolyn (7/5): Lovely resort, easy to get to, great for a short stay. - Beautiful small and personal resort. Easy to get to from Carthagena, lovely family room, great food and nice staff. Good pool. Lots of potential. The resort is fantastic, but it seems to struggle with the balance between hotel and place for day guests. When we arrived on Friday at 3pm, the music was pretty loud. On Saturday, there were around 50 day guests and a DJ. Luckily the staff had informed us in advance and booked one of the cabanas near the beach for us, so we didn’t need to be in the crowd. The other days it was quieter and more laid back. The beach is nice, but apart from that there is not much to do. I tried the outdoor gym but it was infested with mosquitos. The yoga mats in the room are nice, but there were no lessons, nor were there movie nights as advertised on the website. We made an effort to visit the village, but would not recommend it, since there are a lot of street dogs and run down houses. I thinks the resort can do a bit more with what they have.

- Peggy (7/5): Nice but wouldn't go back - The location is nice. Nice room. Food is nice as well. In the morning it is a relaxed atmosphere without loud music. You can have a relaxed breakfast and swim in the pool until 11.00. After 18.00 it is also very nice when all the day guests leave. They make something special of dinner with a romantic scene and nice food. Staff is friendly From 11.00-18.00 day guests come. Music is turned very loud, also during the week. You can't read a book because of the sound. It would be possible to do if you return to your own cabin, but I think you come here as well to enjoy the pool. Prices are very high. Without breakfast 300 euros for one night is to much for what you get, compared with other very nice hotels in Colombia or Europe (they say it is so expensive because the staff gets payed better, which is great, but still it is not a good price quality ratio). They offer water in the room in a bottle. My husband and I both got diarrhea. I don't know if it is from the water, but it was not nice. After our stay we received the bill with some mistakes in it, which was solved later.

- Martin (8/5): Nice place with excellent and attentive staff - A lovely place in a nice setting. We had a bungalow which was great with its own outdoor area and a plunge pool. The staff are great both friendly and helpful. They have a really useful WhatsApp system for ordering room service which works well. A couple of points which are not necessarily criticism but I feel should be pointed out. A lot of day visitors come to the hotel which means the pool area can be crowded. That said guests are asked in advance where they would like to reserve a bed or cabana. Evening meals are a set menu with no choice. The hotel will offer an alternative if you ask in advance but you don’t what’s on the menu until you arrive for dinner.

In particular we would like to thank Jorge Luis luna, Samantha at reception and Yao for being so helpful and accommodating, and lovely people. The staff speak good English and mentioned they are all getting English lessons which is fantastic. The food is 10/10 we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here each day and the food was just so beautiful. It is a little more expensive but you do not mind spending this money when the food is of that quality. They organise some events on some evenings like cocktail making classes, wine tasting, pizza nights. You have the option to choose to avail of this..there is no pressure if you choose not to. At the weekend during the day it is a little more lively but it's fine and we'll managed. Then by 5pm it gets quieter and becomes really peaceful.. They went they extra mile and offered us complimentary glasses of champagne, cocktails as it was our honeymoon. The extra touches of welcome cocktail, turn down service with gifts for guests was also amazing. The communication about the transport from Cartagena and boats was excellent We could not find any fault in this hotel. We would 100% recommend. Thank you for everything. Nothing- it was perfect

- Gregory (8/5): Very good - This is a nice place. It could be nicer, but overall, I would say it's a nice beach island resort. I enjoyed it and the staff were friendly. Room was nice. The photos I saw made it look like the room pools were more private. They were not. Walking outside to use the toilet and shower while islandly and different (not bad) is also bug and mosquito prone. The place was pricy, in my opinion I travel a lot and I think *luxury* if you want to say that, in Cartagena is overpriced. This place included. It's not a Bahamas resort. While it's nice, it's not what you would expect from an island beach resort.
- Lauren (10/5): Can I live here? - My partner and I LOVED our stay at Blue Apple -- so much so, the second we left we were already scheming about when/how to return. Every detail is flawless: the staff, the rooms (the pics don't do justice to how nice the rooms are), the food, the drinks, the beach, everything. It's a 25-minute boat ride to get there (which was really fun by itself), but it feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. During the day (from about 11:30 until 4:30), there's definitely more of a party scene, which was great for day drinking and people-watching, but the resort gets very quiet again at night. The beachside cabanas are ideal for a little more privacy, away from the liveliness of the pool. We stayed in the room called "Papaya" attached to the main house and slept amazingly well. We also took advantage of the yoga classes they offered while we were there (thanks to a visiting yoga instructor), which were great - they have mats and blocks in every room available for use. The food/drinks deserve a special call-out; we were surprised to find new, delicious additions at every mealtime, so we never felt tired of the offerings. Oh - and the massages!! I got one 2/3 days we were there. Could life get any better? Thanks for a beautiful time, Blue Apple. Nothing! This place is perfect.

- Daniel (10/5): Great beach club stay - This is a beach club. Expect some poolside activity and loud music. Check their Instagram page before booking so you won’t be one of those disappointed want-to-be-secluded-couples… We were completely aware of this and our family with 3 little ones enjoyed every second of it including moments of romantic and quiet stay. Once the day crowds are gone at 5pm it turns to an even more amazing place. The staff were so accommodating for every need much more than we were expecting. Food is great no dish disappointed. Either poolside or cabañas are always priority for guests over day-pass visitors so don’t worry. Communication for every room service need with WhatsApp was flawless. Ocean is a bit choppy but you can find rockless entrance spots. We will definitely return. Thanks Dani y Jorge None.
- Julien (8/5): Very good place - The location is perfect, everything is very clean and well taken care of. The staff is very friendly. We can feel a very good organisation. The place looks better in reality. Delicious food, nice ambience. There's good activities to do. I'd definitely recommend that place. I could go on a long time with superlatives ! Daniel (!!), Calo (sorry for the spelling :) ), Luz, Jorge are amazing staff people to interact with. Everything they kindly suggest to add to your leak comes with a price. (Even chicken on a Cesar Salad or an ice cream on a cake) At the end of the day you receive the daily bill of your day's consumption - check it very well, there's easy mistake... And then to compensate the mistakes you have to ask compensation the next day... It's a mess on this point. We're in 2024, it's easy to make a mobile app for these kind of process. The weekend the DJs are playing music. On Saturday it was so loud that even in our room we couldn't rest. I'm hanging a lot in clubs and concerts, I'm not a grumpy guy for live music, but honestly there's no need to put music that loud for people that are literally without 10 meters of the DJ booth.

- Kevin (9/5): We had a great time - I would stay there again next time my travels takes me to Cartegena. - The food - the drinks - daily happy hour - and especially the excellent A/C in our room! The staff was wonderful - helpful and engaging! I have already recommended this hotel to a couple of friends! I would suggest allowing the massages to done in an air conditioned room - maybe one of the villas or put in place of the gift shop. You could charge more - the masseuses would prefer it and I know the clients would as well. I planned on booking a massage each day - but stopped after the first day due to the heat. The rooms and day passes were about 50% less ( or better) when booking through a VPN in Colombia versus the cost of reserving through an United States web connection.

The rooms were cleaned frequently throughout the day. Most of the time it was relaxing to be here. A very good massage is offered on site as well. Although limited the food options available were tasty. Not that many activities as initially advertised. The food options are a bit limited at times. Just outside the hotel there are a lot of hawkers selling different things who keep coming up to you and trying to get you to buy things even after you’ve said you aren’t interested or even after buying one thing from them so you can relax. It’s hard to relax in these areas of the hotel when they are supposed to be the “Quiet areas”

There were a few miss-understandings, but at the end of the day everything that was negative became positive, because all of the staff took care of it. The only thing that they should change is to include the transport to and from the island.

Communication via WhatsApp and transportation were great - the boats were safe and convenient from Muelle de la Bodeguita. The hotel staff was amazing, attentive, and seemed well cared for as employees. We can't speak more highly of them. We liked the beach - medium sized waves and no rocks in the actual swimming area. It's not great for snorkeling because the waves are bigger, but there are beautiful sunsets. Our room (Papaya) was clean, large and the food and cocktails were excellent (try the Cartagena Mule!). The air conditioning worked very well. There is more noise/partying from day-trippers on weekends, so it's probably better to go during the weekdays if you want more relaxation or traveling with younger kids. There are beach vendors, but we found them to be friendly (they give great massages), and the hotel has a flag system in place if you want to be left alone. The cabanas, built into the hedges, are awesome and can be rented for about $15/day. There aren't any kayaks or SUPs, but there are horseback rides, walks to the historic El Fuerte Tierra Bomba, and diving trips offered from the site. While prices may be a little more expensive than other nearby hotels, we found the quality, atmosphere, and price transparency (no surprises) to be better here, and the property is beautiful. Prices are still less than what most people would pay at other Caribbean islands or resorts.

But can't say it was something to fault them. Nevertheless they did everything to try to make our stay as confortable as possible.
- Taylor (10/5): Slice of heaven - It is hard to describe just what an amazing experience we had in our three nights at Blue Apple. The resort is quite simply one that you must experience yourselves. The property is beautiful, so well maintained and cared for. Our room was exceptional, with a small plunge pool for our private use as a bonus! It had all the amenities of a traditional hotel as well, like TV and aircon, but to be honest we didn't spend too much time there as we were out enjoying everything else the resort had to offer! The pool can get busy at times, but over the four total days we were there I'd say it was fairly quiet most of the time and, if it is too busy for you, the beach cabanas are beautiful spots. The best part of the stay, however, were the staff. Such awesome people, who looked after us so well, and we were sad to say goodbye to when we left. Special shout out to Yao, Jorge, Garo, and Antonio, who took great care of us over there. We were sad to have to leave the island, but look forward to hopefully coming back someday soon to visit.
- Alexander (10/5): - Blue Apple is a truly special place, tucked away on an island 20 minutes from Cartagena. Even though it is in an area with a lot of other resorts, its private cove and geographic location make you feel like you're completely isolated. The staff made us feel incredibly cared for, and the mission (they are fully sustainable, with their own farm, solar panel setup for energy, etc.) is authentic and beautifully communicated to guests. Food is DELICIOUS, all incredibly fresh and prepared to order for each meal. The pool and bar area are also delightful -- we were there during a slower season so there weren't many people there, which made it feel even more special. If you're looking for that perfect place to stay for a few nights to escape, this is the spot you're looking for.

Couldn’t hang out on the beach either. Vendors constantly harassing you which doesn’t make for a relaxing time.

- Varshabhanavi (8/5): - My girlfriend and I had a short stay here for just one night. Blue Apple deserves top reviews for their service and communication! Everything was made easy from arranging transport, ordering food and drinks, to room service via messenger. The staff was very friendly upon our arrival and throughout our stay. When we arrived, tourists were leaving the island so we got to enjoy a nice, quiet and romantic sunset with great drinks and food. The room itself was very large and the outdoor shower and tub plus the personal pool (not really private) were all a nice touch. My only complaint was our bedding had stains on it. By the time we went to turn in for the night it was very late and we also had to get up early so we just ended up sleeping over the bedding with what we brought. If we had more time and it was earlier I'm sure they would have addressed this. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Cartagena!

We loved him.The food was incredible. To note, the lunch and dinner menu are the same. The grilled sea bass w/ coconut rice was amazing. We didn’t have hot water, but the AC worked so we didn’t care. While it’s very lively during the day, it’s dead at night. There are only 10 rooms so there are only that many people there at night after the day trippers leave at 5:30. It’s VERY romantic at night. So beautiful with lots of lights in the trees. Sunday was super fun by the pool with an amazing DJ playing mostly tropical house and great vibes. HOWEVER, we were basically ignored our entire time at the pool, presumably because we weren’t spending money on alcohol. We went 2 hours without anyone checking in on us. That was basically our only legitimate complaint about our stay. I did the horseback tour which was incredible. 3 hours of riding around the island to a secluded beach for breakfast and back. It was gorgeous. Any level of rider can go, but I’m an experienced rider and it was just the guide and I, so we were able to canter and gallop around with the horses who were well cared for and in great shape. They provided half chaps and a helmet for me which was very appreciated. Overall we wish we had spent 2 nights there, but any more would probably only be nice with a romantic partner since there’s nothing to do at night.

This was one of my favourite places to stay ever!

The founders put a lot of thought to make this a modern and intimate getaway. They employ a wonderful, friendly staff who make you feel at home. A kind suggestion to management - I would consider having a separate lunch and dinner menu or offering more options. While the food was good, I think having a separate or more expansive menu would help guests who stay a few nights avoid repetition.
