• Perrine (9/5): Idéalement placé pour profiter du port et de la médina. - Lieu idéalement placé en plein cœur de la Médina. Personnel gentil et disponible. La vue mer est très jolie. Les escaliers en colimaçon pour monter au logement sont difficiles à monter si vous avez beaucoup de valises ou des bagages encombrant. L’eau chaude met beaucoup de temps à arriver.

Man schläft zum Wellenrauschen und am nächsten Morgen wartet ein leckeres Frühstück. Die beiden, die die Unterkunft managen, sind super nett, er spricht fließend Deutsch. Es wird nicht aufgeräumt während des Aufenthaltes, was an sich bei ein paar Tagen kein Problem darstellt. Allerdings wäre es gut gewesen, zwischendurch den Mülleimer zu leeren und bei Bedarf Klopapier nachzufüllen.

De kamer stonk, we denken naar kattenpis. De ramen sloten niet, waardoor er heel veel muggen waren. Als we de negatieve reviews beter hadden gelezen hadden we dit niet geboekt.

Steps were Fine for us… but spiral steps up to our room 2:3 flights… with luggage… might be an issue for some…

À vous de vous débrouiller, dommage (sûrement une économie pour l'établissement). - La grosse bouilloire de la cuisine est dans un état de saleté inadmissible, probablement jamais lavé. Une épaisseur de dépôt calcaire mélangé à de la crasse. Inutilisable, dommage.

В них было все, что нужно для комфортного проживания, а хозяева окружили нас любовью и заботой. Завтрак был превосходным. Мы спали под шум волн, вдыхая аромат океана. The spiral staircase can be challenging for some people. The hot water takes a few minutes to heat up. The steel gate can be tricky to open but this is not a major issue.

De kamer op de eerste verdieping heeft 2 etages en is heel sfeervol. Helaas heb je geen volledig uitzicht op de zee. Dat uitzicht heb je wel bij de kamers vanaf de tweede verdieping. The view of the ocean and sunset is simply beautiful. The perfect sanctuary to escape the hustle and bustle of the Medina (old city, within the old city walls). Perfectly located at the edge of the medina, a quiet street, within walking distance of the souks and restaurants.The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We feel very lucky to have found such a hidden gem 💎
• Anke (10/5): Märchenhaft hübsche Unterkunft! - Wir waren überwältigt, als wir bei unserer Ankunft die wunderschönen bunt verglasten Fenster unseres Zimmers sahen, die einen direkten Blick auf den Atlantik bieten. Die Sonne tauchte das Zimmer in warme Farben und wir fühlten uns in eine andere Zeit versetzt. Bei geöffnetem Fenster hört man das Meer und die Möwen. Wir haben ausgezeichnet geschlafen und waren auch sehr zufrieden mit dem leckeren Frühstück. Wenn man die Unterkunft verlässt, befindet man sich inmitten der Medina und hat die Wahl, ob man zum Meer, in die Gässchen der Medina oder zum Fischmarkt gehen möchte. -

Essendo nell’isola pedonale raggiungibile solo a piedi, è possibile lasciare la macchina in un parcheggio poco distante L’appartamento si raggiunge con una scala a chiocciola ed è presente una scala anche all’interno quindi la soluzione è poco adatta a chi ha problemi di mobilità

L’endroit est propre et très pratique pour toutes les excursions. Le petit déjeuner est copieux avec du très bon café. L’escalier qui mène dans les appartements est en colimaçon extrêmement étroit, impossible pour les personnes à mobilité réduite de l’emprunter ou qui possèdent une grosse valise. Le parking n’est pas très loin, mais extrêmement cher. Du bruit en week-end et une odeur de tabac désagréable qui remonte jusqu’au deuxième étage.

The breakfast was minimal, and had good taste. The rooms were clean and neat. The housekeeping was prompt. The staff at the reception were very good. The doors and passage way were all rusty. I feel a good cleaning will definitely do the trick. There should be a bell boy to carry the luggage. It was quite difficult to carry the luggage up and down through the narrow spiral staircase.

• noemi (10/5): Deseando volver - Tenía dudas al reservar por los comentarios sobre escaleras, ruido o limpieza, pero al llegar fue una grata sorpresa. Es cierto que hay una escalera de caracol y no es apta para personas con movilidad reducida. Esto tiene una explicación, los edificios de esa zona no suelen tener ascensor ni escaleras amplias por el tipo de construcción. En realidad es como subir a un piso normal, solo un poco más angosta y con maleta puede costar un poco, pero incluso se hace diferente y divertido; a nosotros nos encantó porque rompe con lo habitual. Que no pongan jabón ni cambien sábanas o limpien a diario es lógico: es un apartamento, no un hotel. Desde que entras hasta que sales es como tu casa (literalmente). El día de la entrega estaba todo impecable, incluso olía un poco a lejía, y tanto la ropa de cama como las toallas estaban muy limpias. El suelo está hecho con materiales típicos de la zona y puede dar la sensación de estar manchado, pero no lo está, es el estilo local. Si necesitas algo, en recepción lo dan sin problema: papel, toallas, lo que haga falta. Son muy amables y el desayuno está riquísimo, además ayudan en todo. Respecto al ruido: casi nada. Dormimos con ventanas abiertas y solo llegaba algo de la plaza, especialmente hasta medianoche (estuvimos 8 días). Ten en cuenta que en esa zona siempre hay ambiente porque hay varios “pubs”, pero es que es lo normal en el centro de Essaouira. El cerrojo de la puerta es el típico marroquí con candado y pasador, como en muchas casas del país. Aun así, es una zona y un edificio seguros, con cámaras en la entrada y muy buena vibra. Las vistas son de película, un verdadero oasis en la Medina para descansar entre paseos. Por poner un pero me habría encantado una almohada más bajita y blandita (yo duermo casi en plano y me resultaron un poco duras y altas)

• Karen (9/5): A wonderful, relaxing stay in a kaleidoscope of local, interior decor & artisanal magic - The interior decor of the room is a Middle Eastern "dream come true". There are 2 fabulous picture windows with a fantastic view of the Medina wall, part of the fish market in the distance, the bay, & nearby island. A delicious breakfast is provided by a very pleasant young lady. She tries to change it daily. The excellent location of the hotel near to the beach, transportation & not far inside the Medina. The very kind assistance provided by the hotel to move luggage up or down the stairs & even to the taxi stand about 300 metres away. (Cars / taxis are not allowed in the Medina, & the cobble stones make moving luggage difficult. If you arrive later in the day there are men with carts for by the taxi stand. If you are leaving early...you rely on the kindness of the hotel to get to the taxi stand.) The kitchen comes well equipped, but I always ate out. The big, comfortable bed & thick, warm bed covers. The weather was usually chilly due to the wind. The room was usually quiet, but not if there were noisy passersby or if there was very loud music happening in the nearby plaza. Sound carries. The safety & security. There is no private beach. The small refrigerator is installed too close to wall edge of kitchen entrance so that you can frequently hit your head. I had to hang towels on it to prevent further incidents & avoid serious injury. I was on the 2nd floor which requires 3 flights of stairs because there is a small mezzanine, but I had read about it before booking and was prepared. The concierge also very dutifully carried luggage both up and down.

• Robertas (8/5): Very good - The location is convenient, with a view of the ocean. For a better view, you should choose rooms on the next floor. The owners are very helpful and can provide a taxi to the airport. When you open the windows at night, you can hear the noise of the nearby port.

Small shower, extremely small bathroom sink, no shampoo, no cosmetics, just a plain bar of soap, poor and small towels, no room cleaning, no towels changed after the first night. Bed crammed between 3 walls. Low ceillings, dim lights, all over the place No view whatsoever: just the high medina walls. Claustrofobic /suffocating all over. Lousy breakfast: mainly bread and butter. And jam and some sweets: sure recipee for developing diabetes Building door : extremely difficult to lock/unlock. We have made a booking here just because other good hotels were full of people due to a car rally.

We didn’t use the kitchen but it was fully equipped. Not a negative for us but quite a lot of steps to climb. Toilet leaked/dripped a little.

• Traci (7/5): Lovely place in central location - Great location in the medina with private entrance. Can be noisy as there's a pool room downstairs we weren't aware of which can get busy on a weekend evening.
• Stephen (8/5): Great short stay in a traditional guest house, close to the centre of town. - Great location on the sea front, the crashing waves just below the window. Spectacular views. Beautifully decorated room in traditional Moroccan style. Great breakfast. The spiral staircase up to the second floor is tight and hard work with a suitcase. Best to ask staff to help.
• Zahira (10/5): Exceptional - Where do I even begin!! This place was SPECTACULAR. Right on the beach. The whole entire apartment is so colorfully decorated, as if you’re staying with a local. You just walk out and you are in the main square. The view of the ocean when you wake up is magnificent. The shower curtain needs to be fixed as the railing was falling down. Steep, narrow stairs to climb up so maybe bring a small suitcase
• Errol (8/5): Perfect location! Recommended! - Perfect location on the skala overlooking the sea. My room had the sea view which was spectacular.
• Helenhowardhollywood (10/5): An amazing palace in the Medina! - Breathtakingly beautiful rooms and some have mind-blowing views!!! I felt like I was staying at a palace! The beds were so comfortable and I had the best pillows! Rue Skala an excellent location as you are near cool places like Taros restaurant and the main square. The breakfast was wonderful each morning and slightly different each day. I can't wait to return! It was perfect
• Ifkirne (1/5): Bad - Price increase when paying in cash. The receptionist told me that the room I booked was not ready and that there were other rooms for a higher price. I was surprised that it was the same room plus 25 euros more than the actual price.
• Emily (10/5): Perfect stay - The internal architecture is stunning and beautifully cool, the positioning in Essaouira absolutely perfect and the owners wonderfully helpful and went out of their way to help us. I loved everything.

• Amelia (8/5): Very good - Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast provided. Great ocean view. Bathroom could have been cleaner (Mouldy shower curtain). Soap was unusable, but can easily buy from local shop.
• Pedro (10/5): Perfect location, kind stuff, good breakfast. - The great and sweet personal attention by the staff was unforgettable. Also the location is perfect, in the very center but around a corner, giving an extra tranquility. The decoration is like a Moroccan dream.
