Guest Reviews
- Kris (5/5): Passable -
- Peggy (2/5): - Room not available when we got there. Managerbug bombed it
- Robert (Bobby) (2/5): Horrible, worst, filthy, pig sty - This place is so filthy and horrible that we left and went to the Super 8 across the street. Do NOT fall for the rating on the pig sty. Hotels.com should be embarrassed to have this place offered on their app. The kid on duty was high - he couldn’t even find the room. We did it for him! And the manager was rude, unreasonable, and has horrible people skills. Oh, and he lives 3 hours away! Choose another place or bring a tent…or sleep in the ground - it’s cleaner. But now the weeds in the parking lot first.
- Miller (1/5): The hotel is closed! - The hotel was not even open for business. We had to find another hotel. Why is this place even listed?
- Kathryn (1/5): Bad -
- John (2/5): - We actually did not even stay at the hotel it was so disgusting. We didn't even look at the room. We didn't have to
- Trisha (2/5): Hotel is closed. So don't even try to book it - The reason why I put everything terrible is this hotel is actually closed. And has been closed for a while and I got to the place and had to figure that out by calling the hotel company that is located in other state that has two other ones open but this one is closed because of electrical issues. And the booking site still has it available to book.
- Carol (1/5): Bad - It is out of business!!! Remove from your site!
- Stevenson (1/5): Closed. Better not take my money. - Closed Closed. Remove from your list
- Jenkins (1/5): Bad - What the hell the place has been closed for over a year weeds growing everywhere you need to update your stuff.
- James (1/5): Didn’t get to stay it was closed down. - Not much. It was closed so I drove 5 hours back home.
- James (1/5): THE MOTEL IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED, READY TO BE TORN DOWN - The Motel is PERMANENTLY CLOSED. ready to be torn down,
- Mcqullian (1/5): Bad -
- Scott (6/5): - It is in a perfect location for our hunting trips. The town has everything needed from grocery store, laundromat, restaurants, etc..
- Jeff (2/5): - It is FILTHY
- Holliday (9/5): I love this motel - Loved the location It definitely needed updates
- Donald (1/5): Bad - Rooms were dirty and the hot water for the shower was non existent. Will not be back spent over 400$ and feel like it was a complete waste of money.
- Mitcheal (5/5): Passable -
- Andrew (1/5): We ran out the door and asked for a refund which I was promised but haven't seen. - Nothing Everything. It's worn through and needs serious cleaning then set on fire.
- Darwin (4/5): Was short comfy and did the job ok just is getting old and scratchy - Location ok didn’t have any breakfast The orange juice was spoiled or off and the room felt like it had bed bugs I’m sure it didn’t tho…
- Stef (1/5): it freaking sucked will not recommend ever - nothing there was bugs in the hotel, there was no wifi, there was no tv, the staff was rude as can he didnt care, the toilet sounded like a tea kettle the whole time. Had higher expections
- Lisa (2/5): - Very dirty and uncomfortable
- Ryan (5/5): Great place to bring your dog and gut fish. - The bed and linens were really clean and comfortable.
It is the cheapest place to stay. I was looking for place to sleep for 1 night and plug in my CPAP.
Loved the bottle cap collection (probably more than 5000 bud light caps in the parking lot).
It's better than camping in a tent. Air conditioning was adequate.
There is on-site fish cleaning station, Ice machine (out of order during my visit), and game freezer. ZERO communication. I left my charging pack and have been trying for a week to reach them. They don't have a working phone. Booking.com can't reach them,... and the "owners" (OYO Properties) only respond with the same robo-mail (one each day) which says that THEY are unable to contact the property, but are working on it!!!
Other reviews that rave about the cleanliness are either out of date or fake. There was animal and human hair on nearly every surface (sink, toilet, carpet, headboard, dresser,...). Greasy hand prints on walls and doors. Moldy tub. No hot water. The TV guide card was so disgusting I had to wash it (see photo).
I can live with the run-down nature of the motel - I got what I paid for. But the lack of communication is truly laughable. I'm going to order a new charger so that I don't waste any more time or energy.
- Angela (4/5): - Unfortunately there was no hot water, so we had to take cold showers. There was cardboard in place of a window in our room. The beds were comfortable and rooms were fairly clean. We ran out of towels and toilet paper and I went to the front office several times but it was closed, no one came when we rang the doorbell, and the phone number provided on the door for management was out of service. Eventually we did get towels but it was a little late, staff was friendly. They said there was breakfast provided but there was no milk for cereal and Sunday the doors were locked so we couldn’t get in for coffee. Wi-Fi was not working but we were aware that it had issues in the area. The rooms were cheap but I do expect proper windows and staff to be available for towels and toiletries. The pool is misleading as well because it is a public pool not pool on property so I am not sure that should be added as an amenity.
- Clifford (1/5): Bad -
- Denise (1/5): this was not a good stay. neighbors were loud, room was not clean, exposed electrical wires, - We did not go to the breakfast very little available and my spouse is diabetic
- Kassandra (2/5): Do not stay here - Absolutely disgusting room. There were exposed wires, dead bugs, nails sticking out of the floor which i stepped on. Would not recommend at all. They called 3 hours before check in and canceled one of our rooms.
- Curtis (3/5): Poor -
- Donna (1/5): Will NEVER stay again. - Nothing Filthy, rug and floor dirty, furniture covered in dust, outside littered with bottle caps and plastic bottles, bathroom very dirty. Lights didn’t work. Had to ask for face towels and received floor mats.
- Nick (4/5): Hotel needs renovated. Cheap and serves it's purpose but still could use some updating. - No real point to the breakfast provided. it was cereal and bagels. Purchased breakfast elsewhere. Room wasn't fully cleaned, one of the nightstands was sticky with what I assume was a spilled drink, box spring was badly stained, blanked had stains and looked like it was from the 90's. Only given 2 pillows, when asked for more we got 1 additional pillow, for a total of 3 smaller pillows for 2 guests.
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Thaddeus (4/5): Good for a cheap bed for a night. - Our toilet would not flush correctly, the shower was disgusting and had a green film in it, and our ac/heater unit didn't want to function properly. If you just need a bed to crash for a nigh at a very inexpensive rate, this is the place.
- Julie (6/5): - It was ok since I just needed to sleep after working all night
- Bentley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jim (7/5): Good -
- Joe (4/5): - Very run down, needs upgrading . I would not stay there again.
- William (3/5): Super8 was full. - Close to location I was visiting. NO cockroaches running around the bathroom floor
- Samra (8/5): Very good -
- Jared (2/5): - It was just the worst of the worst. Go to the Super 8 instead.
- Jerry (8/5): Very good -
- Huntinfool (5/5): Passable - The price TThere was a light that was always on right outside your door that attracted bugs terribly bad
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Haley (6/5): Pleasant - Cheap Cheap
- Melissa (10/5): - Quiet for most part clean
- Patricia (4/5): Don't gi - Close to public pool Bugs, hard bed and run down room.
- Ken (8/5): - The property is old and dated. There were tiles off the wall in bathroom. It was clean and no bugs. Air Conditioning worked great. Bushes in front weren't trimmed. The breakfast was cereal and milk -- not water or coffee. The juice machine was not working. Overall it was a clean and comfortable cheap room for three nights.
Staff were helpful and courteous
- Pam (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (5/5): Passable -
- Deb (2/5): Won’t stay here again - Room was dirty. Light outside of door attracts bugs that enter the room with you.
- Virginia I (6/5): - The family that operates this property are so very kind and friendly. They pointed us down the road to a great place for a family dinner. Upon check in the large room we had reserved was unavailable due to heating issues so they gave us 2 regular sized rooms with an adjoining inner door at no extra charge. But the adjoining inner door was broken and unable to be used. The hotel itself is extremely run down. We did not partake in the complimentary breakfast which was set up in a dark corner of the check in area and appeared to be mostly coffee and cold cereal.
- Jeanine (8/5): Met all of our needs - The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The price was amazing. We would definitely stay again.
- Brad (8/5): - It was okay, the service was good
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get what you pay for... - Air-conditioning was good. It is definitely an older motel with issues that go along with that but that didn’t bother us as much as the fact that the tub did not drain. We had to wait over half an hour in between showers so that the pond would drain for the next person to shower. But, you get what you pay for and the price was right.
- Michael (6/5): - I rented 2 rooms for 4 adults. The owner, whom I spoke to on the phone before arrival, explained breakfast. Unfortunately being diabetic I found 2 sugar cereals and pre-packaged Blueberry Muffins for breakfast, and that was it. It was a major disappointment. I will stay at a different place in the future knowing that I can get a better breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - close to lake
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They did not respect the price i got with Orbitz app
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like vintage hotels. This is in a lovely location, clean, and people managing it were helpful and kind.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The owners were so sweet. The tub and sink didn't drain but they tried to fix it. The bathroom (tub) needed fixed.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Wasn't very impressed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - rooms really outdated. fairly clean. would not use shower as no shower head and tub needed replaced.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Dated, run down, dirty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): When the lights are out they all look the same. - Room is a bit outdated but clean and comfortable, mini fridge, microwave, satelite tv. Check in was easy. Park your vehicle right outside your door. It's an inexpensive, no frills place. Room was quiet.
- Anthony (10/5): Cheap and good - Good spot for the price
- Paul (8/5): Not bad - The only thing I would say that needs to be better here would be the toilets they are small. But overall not too bad.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room served the purpose of a place to sleep. There were no kleenexes in the room. The second bed did not have a bedspread. There was what looked like gravel on the floor next to the bed (out of the way of anyone stepping on it).
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is an older property, so was not expecting a lot. While the toilet bowl was clean, there was dirt/stuff behind the seat. Also the one easily accessible power outlet had no power (at least I couldn't figure out how to make it work. I moved the desk and dresser to access the outlets behind/under them! The only real amenities provided were ice and a pop machine. The mostly empty snack dispenser wouldn't take a dollar and I chose not to put coins in for fear of them not being returned.
- PL (2/5): - At check in the room that I already paid for didn't exist. The property wasn't clean and was very run down.
- James (10/5): Many times - I've stayed many times and never disappointed. Really like nearness to the lake.
- Darrell (6/5): Let down - Staff didn't under stand that i was to pay on site had make them take money. They gave me first room key and already had someone in the room. Didn't have room i booked. I would not stay there next time I going there.
- jj (6/5): - Air conditioner was right beside the bed.
Had to run it in order to keep the room cool.
It was not a quiet air conditioner.
No bath towels.
Room was clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The owner was very nice at check-in. We had reserved a 2 queen room but he moved us up to an available 3 bed room at no charge. The property is older but still in pretty good shape. We arrived too late to use the community pool but that looked really nice. We walked around the nice city park nearby. Would stay here again with our family.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bathroom was dirt. sink looked as though it had not been cleaned properly.
- Katie (8/5): - The cable didn’t work and the wi fi was terrible. But the room was clean and the beds were comfy
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place was old, the food was old and the beds were terrible.
- Rich (6/5): Ok but Needing Repair - The motel was clean and in reasonably good shape...It needs some repairs, especially a new entrance door...It appeared most of the rooms needed new entrance doors..Management was pleasant and responsive to things needing done (housekeeping did not replace towels even though we were staying 2 nights)...For the money, I would recommend it to others...
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for stay - Good for a short business trip
- Mary Ann (2/5): Worst 2 nights of any hotel stay - The bed was extremely hard and so were the pillows. The rug had a bad smell. The air conditioner was old and very loud. I had to pay for 3 days and only stayed 2 because when I wanted to change my reservation I couldn't find it on line or on the phone.
- Mick (6/5): Going back 50 years. - Small community lodging. Clean but outdated as its an old hunting/fishing lodge. Friendly host/hostess but lacks the renovation to make it more attractive.
- David (10/5): - Nice clean comfortable place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Out of fashion decor but decent, clean motel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Work in Progress - The motel is in the process of being remodeled. So the condition of the room depends on whether it's been done or not. Our room was partially done, the carpeting was new but the plumbing was still old.
The owner was very accommodating and friendly. When we were going out to dinner we told him we needed more tissues, When we came back they were in the room waiting for us.
The motel is walking distance from a restaurant and bar which serves very good food.
Overall, we enjoyed our overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Old needs work. - Room right on highway, major truck route, noise all night.
- Michael (8/5): Affordable and comfortable - Friendly service, clean comfortable room, easy access
