Guest Reviews
- cynthia (8/5): - Yes
- Zachary (4/5): - There’s a lounge in the lobby that plays music until 3 am. Shaking the hotel very difficult to sleep in a not safe area
- Jessica (6/5): - Room was fine, but small. Outside the doors of the hotel, sketchy.
The walls are paper thin
- Li (4/5): - There was chewed up gum stick next to the phone in my room and someone else’s hair all in the bed. When I complained and wanted another room, at first they said they were fully booked and then put me in a different room. That room ALSO had someone else’s hair all in the bed.
- Julian (4/5): - Got there late to check in bc of a flight delay and they gave my room I had already paid for to someone else and I was stuck at midnight with my daughter on the Brooklyn streets . Went back in and pleaded if they had any more rooms and the gentleman was able to find one miraculously. Good guy. But the whole experience was terrible for my 4 year old
Daughter. We were exhausted and just wanted to rest
- Victoria (10/5): - Staff was great and room was clean and comfortable. We had no problem, as we had late nights, but worth noting that early risers should be aware that the music from the bar downstairs can definitely be heard in the lower level rooms. Great delis nearby!
- Kelly (10/5): - This is my second time staying here. It's a great option when you have a concert at The Barclay's Center. It's very walkable with a variety of food options nearby.
- Ling Man (6/5): - For what I paid for, it was pretty good. I don’t expect to be doing work or anything here and the transit is pretty convenient. What sucked was the subway being directly outside my window and passing by pretty loudly all night. i’m not too bothered but i can definitely see how it could drive someone crazy
- Janelle (8/5): - Older hotel in the heart of Bushwick. Clean and stuff was nice. Noise was a problem.
- Patricia (10/5): - Room was very clean and the people who work the front desk were absolutely wonderful. I really appreciate the housekeepers and their dedication as well!!
- Exetta (10/5): - Comfortable stay
- Dave (4/5): - Hotel is directly next to the above ground subway which runs all night. Noise from the subway is almost soothing compared to the bass beat from the rap and hip hop blared from the ground floor bar/lounge until 2AM. Being lodged on the 6th floor did not stop the whoomp, whoomp, whoomp Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
And there is no cleaning service. Once you check in, if you have a multi-night stay, what you start with is what you will finish with. No more towels, and no more clean floors. When I asked at the check-in counter, I got smiles and assurances, but no one to sweep the floor of the grit left by the prior renter. The hotel is convenient to the subway, but do yourself a favor and find a hotel that is at least a block off of Broadway.
- Faris (8/5): - Very friendly staff. Clean room. Hallways could be cleaner but the room was nice.
- Lisa (10/5): - Close to train station
- Lisa (6/5): - Convenient and cheap.
- Francois (4/5): - Very noisy! The room was not soundproofed and the bar on the first floor was extremely loud. I could hear the elevator passing (beeped each floor it passed on) and anyone talking in the hallway.
- John (8/5): - For the most part we felt safe walking p and down Broadway but right near the hotel at the convenience store on the corner, people were hanging out and made rude comments to my lady.
- Edward Gordon (10/5): - Hotel was great and service
- Djinji (8/5): - Conveniently located, I was able to get to all of my destinations within 20 -30 mins.
- Ayoub (8/5): - Super friendly staff
- Hannah (2/5): - There is a bar underneath that plays very loud music until the early hours of the morning, which sadly makes it extremely difficult to get any sleep.
- Peter (6/5): - The staff were lacklustre.
The room didn’t have a chair to sit on nor a fridge.
Rather large bathroom but small sink.
Minimal bedlinen when cold at night
On the positive side was close to Metro and clean modern style decor.
- Ashley (8/5): - The staff was great - very attentive and amiable. We got in late our first night and the ground floor was VERY loud with the bar but we had a room on the 6th floor and couldn’t hear it at all. It was mainly quiet and was a good walking distance to the subway and other food and transportation sites.
- Bianca (8/5): - The hotel’s location was perfect for us li
- Korina (6/5): - The hotel has very basic amenities if you want to call them that. Water and ice in the basement and a place to sit outside. There is a club in the hotel and you can hear it all hours of the night. I was on the 6th floor and we could still hear it. Location was good for my needs but that’s about it.
- Cherokee (6/5): - Room needs to be remodeled. Old tiles in the shower, water leaking all over the floor, stains and marks all on the mirror. And the elevator was not working on 4th floor. The staff was very helpful and friendly
- rachel (6/5): - Clean and staff was helpful
- Mariah (4/5): - Not what i expected literally in the worst part do not book if it’s just girls i went on a girls trip and it’s pretty far from the city but the metro is right above so it’s easy to go out the room was cool for the price we barely slept so it wasn’t too bad
- Sharon (10/5): - Hotel is value for money with good transport links with two stations within a 8 min walk. Adequate food options and local shops. The overhead train line with the fixtures were a downside to the area...but this is Brooklyn and for some people this maybe a good feature
- danielle (10/5): - This property is conveniently located to the subway. There are a lot of great dining options and bars.
- Monique (10/5): - Staff cool n helpful. Love the back patio n bar below with music. Nice boutique hotel by train n shops
- Tiffany (6/5): - Wish the room had a microwave and a fridge the construction is a lot to deal with but it’s served us for one night so all was well especially for last minute booking beds were comfortable
- Eileen (6/5): - The room was clean & comfortable, but noisy. I understood that there was a breakfast included with my reservation, there is not. The rooftop is not accessible. I thought the staff were very helpful, except for a woman at the desk, who could not assist me in getting a cab/uber. I enjoyed the neighborhood.
- Jeffrey V. (8/5): - Extremely convenient for Subway access to Manhattan. some really good breakfast/lunch restaurants nearby. Hotel very nicely modernized and was kept very clean. Staff was very friendly.
- James (10/5): - We stayed there to help our daughter moving apartments and this place was very convenient.
Staff is friendly and the property is cleaned.
If you need parking, you can find spots around but sometimes it can be challenging.
We stayed there that coincided with a festival. It was not a big problem but staying in the room “00” numbers rooms on each floor can be a challenge is you are a light sleeper because they are close to the elevator and the noise of happy people going back to their bedrooms till 5am won’t stop.
- Kenna (4/5): - Pros: convenient to the J and M trains, coffee shops, restaurants, and delis that are open late.
Cons: There is a bar on the first floor that stays open late and plays loud music. I was given a room on the second floor and it sounded like I was IN the bar until about 2:00AM. After the first night I asked for a different room and was given one on the 6 floor. This room was much better. I couldn’t hear the bar anymore but could still hear every conversation and toilet flush in the rooms in either side. Fortunately my neighbors weren’t partying but I could see it being bothersome if they were.
Also, just worth noting, the bathrooms of the two rooms I had (queen + twin beds, sleeping 3) isn’t in an entirely separate room. There’s an opaque glass wall that looks directly into the shower from the main room. Don’t share this room unless you’re very comfortable with your companion.
- Zachary (4/5): - The air conditioner didn’t work, bed was wobbly support under bed was broken, TV didn’t work properly. All channels were Staticky. You could barely watch the TV, water pressure was bad. There was a very high noise level didn’t know there was a club attached to the hotel, a lot of random people coming in and out making a lot of noise. Would not recommend staying here again.
- Valerie (10/5): - We respectful staff rooms are very clean
- Greg (6/5): - Very basic hotel but clean and did the job. The location isn’t great. It is located under train tracks and the outside area is a dirty part of town. Found 2 nice places to eat but nothing to do in that area. J train is close and convenient.
- Mariah (2/5): - No hot water called the Maintance didn’t speak English has ro use translate app hope water went out last two nights
- Ruben (10/5): - Though the street the hotel is on is busy and noisy, the area around it is quite laid back and quiet. We never felt unsafe, even at night in the weekend when it was the busiest. The front desk staff was always helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. We were looking for a place to crash, so the simple, no-frills setup worked perfectly for us.
- Tom (6/5): Fairly decent stay! - Nice hotel and staff were friendly! Room was clean and tidy but the bed wasn't the best, not the mattress.
Area of brooklyn was okay, convenient to the train station and to get around. A fair amount of food.
Alot of reviews complain about the train as its so close the noise is bad, but in reality you cannot hear it at all from your room, what is disappointing is tbe local sounds which has co stant music playing into the early hours.
Overall not a bad stay!
- Jordan (10/5): - This hotel was amazing and I will definitely reserve another room for my next NYC trip.
The staff members were extremely nice, the rooms were clean and that’s really all I need. The location was also amazing as its walking distance from the train.
Thank you for an amazing stay !
- Mason James (6/5): - Property is in close proximity to the J & M subway lines, which is convenient, but can be loud during the night. The streets directly outside the hotel are dirty, but the neighborhood did not feel overally unsafe. Hotel staff was not the most friendly but helped when asked. During check in we had to be moved to three seperate rooms because the rooms we were assigned to were not clean.
- natanael (10/5): - Hi
- Becky (6/5): - This was advertised as no frills, and it was exactly that. We drove because we were moving our son into an apartment, but there was no guaranteed parking close, and no one was able to provide any clear suggestions. We saw the review with the train noise, which was ok, but what we didn’t realize also was that our room was directly above the bar/ nightclub. That would not have been the worst if we didn’t have an early morning and a long drive.
- King (10/5): - The Night staff was amazing
- Lyan (6/5): - The front desk staff were not very friendly. The cleaning staff were very nice as well as the other employees!
Our room was either freezing or so humid it was unbearable! No happy medium!
Also the beds are out dated and made so much noise!
- Rachel (8/5): - Hotel 1080 met our needs. The room was clean and the ac worked well.
- Miryan (6/5): - The bathroom grossed me out so much I was just disgusting
- Leslie (10/5): - Staff was lovely, kind and helpful.
- SEEMI (6/5): - The hotel is in the rough part of Brooklyn. There are public transport links a short distance away, but it takes around 25 minutes to reach the city centre and most of the time, you will not get a seat on the subway. There are also a LOT of stairs in most of the subway stations, so be prepared!
The photos of the property were very misleading, particularly the photos of the exterior. We thought the hotel would be a lot nicer than it actually was and that the location was nicer. It is not. It is dirty and smelly.
However, the staff are really nice and quite accommodating.
On night 2 of our stay, there was an event at the hotel, so it was quite noisy and we could even hear it on the 3rd floor where we were staying.
Though this hotel is not a bad choice if you are on a budget, if you're going to New York, I would suggest you stay closer to the city centre if you can.
- Deon (8/5): - Having to go up on the elevator before you can go down was 1 problem i had.
- Marco (10/5): - Clean and safe!
- Erik (10/5): - Great area to be in if you enjoy being in the midst of Bushwick and greater Brooklyn.
- Jamaile (8/5): - My only critique was that there was not a fridge included. The microwave & ice machine in the basement did suffice.
- Jacob (10/5): - More internet access. Was not given internet access or a WiFi password
- Yacenia (8/5): - I stayed there 5 years ago and I had a great time. The only problem I have with them is now they ask for a deposit and I have to wait a week just to get it back. I don't think it's right and I shouldn't have to wait that long unless it depends on my bank.
- Matthew Richard (6/5): - There were limited amenities (no mini fridge, no microwave, no hairdryer, also no conditioner if that matters to some.. no hairdryer either). The bed was creaky and the walls were paper thin, you could hear everything in the halls. Customer service was excellent though - the staff was kind and attentive to our needs. They kept up with the cleanliness of the room while we were out and also didn't ignore our DND sign. The area around the hotel always smelled of weed and didn't feel very safe walking at night. But the hotel itself is okay.
- King (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and polite.
- Shaneeka (10/5): - Hotel is great
- Sheena J (6/5): - the hallways
- Jessica (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay
- Aoife (10/5): Great service! - Super clean and well kept! I arrived early and they let me check into an available room 6 hours ahead of time, which was super convenient! Super quiet and chill, nice back patio, consistent and quality housekeeping.
- Wanda (6/5): - The area was very noisy and presence of homeless
- Kitanya (6/5): - It was cool, love the out door chill area in the back art vibe. Room was mid, walls was giving.
- Ted (10/5): - The Front Desk Agent was very professional and kind. He made the check-in process quick and easy and explained all the hotel's amenities to me. When the remote in the room wouldn't work, he quickly changed the batteries. It was an enjoyable stay.
- Caitlyn (6/5): - The location of it was fine. Some questionable people around but the hotel had a strange smell. Smelled wet and like old carpet.
- Niequa (8/5): Low key and chill. - I've been to this hotel two times. Both times my stay has been pleasant. Pretty clean, it was quiet for me even thoug it was the summer. But it was a weekday.
- DIANNA (10/5): - Decent and clean property in Brooklyn
- Abdulkarim (2/5): - This place stinks that's all I'm say.
- Andrew (8/5): - Clean basic room with an urban style motif. Plenty of towels and linens. Cold A/C which is essential in summer. Great value for NY. Located right on the J train so very convenient to get anywhere in the city. My only complaint is that I would have liked to be able to open the window, but it probably needs to be locked for safety on upper floors. I’d definitely stay there again.
- Andrea (6/5): - There was a lot of construction and trash in the area. I don’t think it’s a great place to be around late at night. I was just dropping my daughter off at a camp, so we stayed only one night. We returned to the hotel at 6 PM because I didn’t feel comfortable in the area, it made me feel unsafe.
- Mark (10/5): - Good spot and area. Room was nice!
- Kasem (10/5): - Great stay will stay there again soon
- Israel (10/5): - Great place. Good area friendly staff
- Brenda (6/5): - guy @ the front desk was nice however hotel was ran down n the pillows stink like nasty feet
- Stacy (10/5): - Friendly staff and great location. I didn’t mind being beside a night club and a great Mexican restaurant right down the street !
- Bonnie (4/5): - The room is small, but appeared clean. The area of town is not great, but convenient in getting to major train routes. We found a contact lens on our bed the first day (we do not wear contacts). We let the front desk know the following morning, and when we came back, the towels had been replaced, but nothing had been cleaned and the contact lens was still there. We followed up again, and the front desk person was more receptive and helpful and the room seemed to receive a more thorough cleaning. No coffee, mini fridge, blow dryer, or typical amenities at this hotel. Bodegas next door and across the street, the latter of which is a little better. It would have been fine if we had trusted that it was clean, but it was unclear how well the room was cleaned.
- Noah (10/5): - Beautiful
- Michael (8/5): - Wish the shower and bathroom had better privacy.
- Alyssa (2/5): - The property is right next to a night cl
- Weimin (4/5): - They do not do daily cleaning unless request. A noisy location.
- Kelli (8/5): - The hotel itself is super cute! The staff was friendly, and we had no issues during our stay. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel was a little off-putting at first, but after the first day, we were used to it. It's also very close to a subway station, so that's super convenient.
- Jonathan (4/5): - Toiletries were not stocked during check in, no hairdryer, bathroom door didn't fully close or lock. They barged in one day around 9am to do maintenance in the bathroom without notice.
- Yen (2/5): - very noisy! room is near the street and you can hear the party going on until 3 in the morning or the train passing by. Hotel is not sound proof so you can literally hear any noise from other nearby rooms or upstairs. really noisy!
- Brandi (8/5): - Wonderful front desk staff . Very helpful and accommodating. Needed my tv fixed and Maintenance guy fixed it quickly. This hotel is good for a short stay. Room was nice also. No refrigerator in room , no telephone in room .
- Shanet (6/5): - I will say my only issue is the price on Expedia is like hiked up compared to whatever they said that they charge me so it’s kinda like a huge price difference and I didn’t get the room that I paid for on Expedia and they said that it was a Expedia thing and they couldn’t technically do anything about it because on their end it showed a different price for the room. So I’m hoping that once everything is settled it does adjust.
- Arturo (8/5): - Staff was friendly and room was clean. There’s a loud bar next door that runs until late at night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent Hotel, Great Location for a Bushwick Stay - Hotel was to be expected. Small rooms but comfortable bed. Shower was nice, bathroom was small. I will say the “mirror” that separates the bathroom from the bedroom is quite see through and if you sat on the bed, you can infact look into the shower. However the hotel was private and quiet. Rooms on the back half of the building were not disturbed by the sounds of the train nearby. Would book again
- Van (6/5): - The stay was ok. I found out that the hotel charged me the deposit money. I called to inform them and was told it would be resolved on Monday. Monday passed and nothing was done.
- arjinder (2/5): - Staff take a $100 deposit for the whole of your stay then on top of that however many days you stay the keep 15$ out of your $100 deposit. I stayed 4 Nights Tuesday till Saturday morning. 60$ was kept out of my $100. Very unprofessional and there was No mini fridge to keep drinks in. No Telephone to ring staff. So Bad.
- Lincoln (2/5): - Tour service
- maurice (6/5): Graduation Stay - Hotel was in a good location for my stay. I was there to attend a graduation in Brooklyn and to see family while there. A good place to lay your head, bed and pillows gave good support, bathroom was clean. Elevated train outside of my window but was no bother. Had a club/bar downstair but music was not a bother and patrons of the club were not a bother either. If you have a car there is only street parking, which could be a problem finding after hours. All-in-all decent stay!
- Benedicta (6/5): - The room was very clean and nice looking but it was much smaller than it appeared in the photo. Looking back, the bench and small table were not in the photo. Space is limited. There are hooks and a wall to wall shelf above the television but no drawers or closet. There was also no refrigerator or phone in the room and ice can only be found in the basement.
The mirror doubles as a glass shower wall so very sexy for couples, not cute for platonic friends or those of us traveling with children. My husband only showered when my daughter was asleep. The bellhop was creepy and stared at my 5 year old too much and attempted to make conversation which I had to shut down letting him know she was clearly uncomfortable.
The music when we arrived on fathers day evening was wildly loud. There is a lounge attached and the bass could be felt throughout the building. We were "lucky" to be on the fifth floor as my daughter and I discovered as we ventured to all the lower floors during our quest for ice as there was no mention of where the ice was located, no phone in the room to ask and no answer when I called the hotel from my cell.
Anyone could just walk in, no one was checking. We were able to walk in off the street and get into the elevator. There is no parking and there a lot going on the area making it difficult to drive in the area or find parking. Good luck folks.
- Christopher (6/5): Affordable. No frills. Friendly staff. - Hotel 1080 was affordable and relatively easy to get to given my need to be in Brooklyn. The LIRR line was literally right outside of my 4th floor window, but that wasn’t the source of the noise: the club in the area was loud. But it’s Brooklyn. What do you expect? All in all it’s an affordable no frills mid-range place to stay with a friendly staff.
- Eileen (10/5): - Great conversation place to stay near Bushwick
- Maria (2/5): - Loud
- Tyler (10/5): - The lady at the front desk was the best
- Sharon (10/5): - The price was good. Close to transport.
