The breakfast was absolutely lovely, and my room was extremely clean and very comfy. I will definitely book there again on my next trip. Nothing.

• Catherine (10/5): We’ve tried a number of different places to stay with dog on trips to and from Santander ferry and this was the best so - Travelling to Santander for ferry Ann chose property for location- short diversion from motorway - and accepts dogs. Couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. Very welcoming, comfortable and clean. Trouble taken with interior decoration, nice touches like kettles and tea. Small communal lounge with wood burner. Breakfast was additional but good choices and coffee refills. Nice restaurant /bar opposite that let us take dog into the restaurant rather than sit outside in the cold. Small town with not a lot obviously happening but there are two other bars next to the town hall and the castle is open on weekdays. Nothing

• Josep (9/5): UN HOTEL FAMILIAR I MOLT CONFORTABLE - És un hotel molt familiar i confortable. Les instal·lacions són molt correctes i netes però el que destaca sobretot és el tracte que donen la Mila i la Bea. La Mila atenta a tot durant l'esmorzar, i la Bea sempre a punt per ajudar-te en tot. Després de passejar per la ciutat de Palència, conéixer els secrets del canal d'aigua que recorre el territori palentí de nord a sud, apartar-se de la ciutat i allotjar-te en aquest hotel es converteix en un moment molt agradable. Gràcies Bea i Mila pel tracte rebut i esperem tornar a saludar-vos. Si hem de dir alguna cosa negativa serien el fet que no hi ha ascensor per pujar a les habitacions. Tot i això, la Bea fins i tot en això troba la seva part positiva indicant en cada un dels esglaons que pugen a les habitacions les calories que estàs perdent. De ben segur, que parlant amb la Bea et troba una solució si ets un client amb mobilitat reduïda.

Patio area with a resourced kitchen including soft drinks to be paid for. Honesty box. Lovely breakfast, had scrambled eggs on toast. Lovely staff. Nothing too much trouble.

Habia un restaurante en frente que la verdad para ser un pueblo pequeño tenía una carta variada y platos elaborados.muy recomendable Lo único malo es que no hay ascensor y hay que subir las maletas por las escaleras, por lo demás todo perfecto

• NURIA (10/5): Nos sentimos como en casa y en familia. Muy buen alojamiento donde hacer parada y fonda. - Tanto Beatriz como Mila fueron muy atentas, simpáticas y amables con nosotros. Nos ofrecieron llevarnos a un punto del Canal de Castilla, si queríamos, y nos cedieron utilizar una habitación individual en la primera planta, aunque inicialmente habíamos reservado una habitación dobles y otra triple. Cenamos como si estuviéramos en casa, y el desayuno muy completo y rico, con productos caseros. Que el alojamiento no dispone de ascensor, llegamos muy cansados después de 30 km andando, y fue duro subir tres pisos. Por lo demás, todo fue perfecto.

• Paul (8/5): A little gem on way back to Santander ferry. - We stayed here 2 nights on our return from Portugal to the ferry back to UK from Santander. We chose the hotel for a rest-over, as it is dog-friendly and is very well-placed for an easy morning 1 hour and 40 minute journey to the Santander check-in at midday. Monzón is a quiet little place with 3 bars, a restaurant, a refurbished castle which appears closed 6 days a week, at least, and this hotel. The restaurant opposite was also closed the day we arrived and so we ate in the small dining area of the hotel. The food was excellent, with a sufficient choice and served as a onne-plated meal with a starter, main course and side dish all on one large platter. Alongside this was offered wine and a dessert. All for 15€. It was served quickly and with a smile, it was hot and tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed it so looked no further for our second evening's meal. The hotel is clean, quiet and the owner and staff are very friendly. You cannot ask for more, at such a reasonable price. It is well-placed for a visit to Palencia and we recommend a walk along the Canal de Castilla and a visit to the impressive cathedral in the charming city. We are always looking for dog-friendly hotels en-route to and from Santander. I think this will become a regular! Thank you for letting us stay with our appreciative dog! Paul and Linda and Saffi.
• Carole (10/5): Charming hotel & host, loved it here. - What a brilliant, charming hotel. The host was excellent, so cheery & nothing was too much trouble. We were only there one night as travelling down to Portugal but it was perfect in every way. Excellent breakfast. The outside shady courtyard with an honesty bar was just what was needed as it was a hot day. Restaurant opposite, good food but large portions. Nothing not to like here, it was perfect.

Lovely little courtyard area to sit it with an honesty bar, stocked with wine, beer, soft drinks, ice cream & snacks. Bed very comfortable. Great place to stay if you are going into Palencia as only about 8km away The town was a bit quiet, but this is no reflection on the hotel

Breakfast and the evening meal were very good. Village was very quiet and peaceful. Very dog friendly. Staff were really nice . The No air conditioning. No lift for people who have mobility issues. Wi-Fi was pretty rubbish in the room.

• Bryan (8/5): Un hotel rural con encanto al lado de Palencia - Un hotel muy bien ubicado para ver Palencia y alrededores sin preocuparse por el jaleo y la dificultad de aparcamiento. El pueblo tiene cosas que ver y hay puntos de interés cerca aparte de la capital. Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas. Está todo muy bien decorado y hay servicio de infusiones y agua gratis. Tiene un patio con bar móvil para tomarse algo en cualquier momento. La única pega que le veo es que el desayuno acaba muy pronto, a las 10. No es tipo buffet pero sí bastante completo. Por otro lado, no sé si fue algo puntual pero las de la limpieza estuvieron hablando a gritos desde que empezaron a trabajar y así es difícil descansar. Por último, recomiendo evitar el restaurante para las cenas. Pero eso ya lo dejo para otra reseña al tratarse de un establecimiento diferente.

• Rona (10/5): Friendly family run hotel. - Great stopover enroute to Portugal. Staff spoke great English. Very friendly. Free tea and coffee on offer freely available. Spotless room. Ate a nice meal at the restaurant opposite owned by the hotel. Nice little place perfect to explore. We had a very pleasant walk up to the castle ruins that overlook the town. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful. Nothing all good.
• Kim (8/5): Very good - The hotel was lovely. Access from motorway to village good for our stopover on our way to Santander. The village does have everything for locals, but only one restaurant very expensive which had just closed when we got there but was reopening later in the evening. We found a local bar but no food so the supermarket opened at 6 pm went there for bread and cheese etc.

• Kathy (9/5): Almost a home from home - Family run and extremely dog friendly. We stay there twice a year on our way to the ferry at Santander and always receive a warm welcome. The restaurant opposite us also run by the family and the food is excellent. On the evenings that the restaurant isn’t open, dinner is provided in the hotel. The village goes back to Medieval times and is worth a visit in its own right. All good
• Martin (10/5): Fabulously eclectic. - A warm welcome from the lovely Beatrix you are immediately struck by the chic decor and calming aromas. The owners have clearly spent a lot of time curating the decorative furniture, from the classic bicycle in the courtyard to the classical wash stand. The rooms are comfortable and there is a vast array of complimentary infusions available on the landing. Very convenient location if you’re heading for the ferry at Santander.
