Las Galeras c'est vraiment la république dominicaine - Une situation de rêve avec vue panoramique à 360° et couchers de soleil magnifiques. Un accueil chaleureux. Nous avons été cocoonées par Susana que nous remercions vivement pour son accompagnement ses délicieux petits déjeuners et sa cuisine créative pour nos diners. Des plats qu'elle a sélectionnés pour nous dont un véritable plat dominicain cuisiné par son compagnon! Et l'hôtel rien que pour nous car nous étions hors saison. Un must en Mai! quelques petites choses à remettre en état ais rien de grave. Cela n'a pas affecté notre séjour...
- DAVID (10/5): Un hotel para vivirlo sin prisas, un paraiso creado con alma - Este alojamiento es una auténtica obra maestra!! Un hotel original, con una personalidad única y una ubicación excepcional. Es absolutamente sorprendente, supera cualquier expectativa. Cada rincón tiene alma, personalidad y un encanto especial, todo pensado para hacerte sentir en un sitio verdaderamente único. Además, se nota el cariño, la dedicación y todo el trabajo que David ha puesto en crear este pequeño paraíso, rincones para cada momento del día, desayunos frente al mar, contemplar los atardeceres, jugar unas partidas de billar, relax en la playita privada, disfrutar de las piscinas, del jucuzzi, aunque para mí el verdadero espectáculo fue un baño nocturno, toda una experiencia, flotar tumbada en una colchoneta (que el hotel incluso dispone de ellas para disfrutar todavía más del momento) admirando las estrellas y la luna en absoluto silencio, es de esos momentos que se quedan grabados. Y sus innumerables camas balinesas, sofás, tumbonas, sus zonas chillout y pequeños espacios pensados para desconectar y que quieras detener el tiempo o simplemente invita a quedarse admirando la belleza y la calma del entorno. Y quiero hacer hincapié en el trato del personal, David, dueño, el artífice y creador de este pequeño paraíso que ha conseguido transformar este lugar en algo único, David es cercano, familiar, siempre pendiente y atento, que hace que te sientas como en casa desde el primer minuto. Con Susana gestionamos el tema excursiones, también nos dió instrucciones para ir al rincón más espectacular de una playa, que sin duda fue un plan perfecto! De los mejores!! La única pena fue no haber podido quedarnos más días, porque es sin duda un lugar especial que hay que saborear. Gracias por todo Sunset Samaná!!! Se nota cuando un lugar ha sido creado con pasión…

El mío es que este lugar es un paraíso, no es perfecto, pero al valorar todo en conjunto no puede pedir más por el precio que he pagado. La belleza es indescriptible y la sensación es de paz y calma total . Lo recomiendo encarecidamente .

- Alexander (10/5): Best hotel stay in the DR - By far the best hotel I stayed in all of Dominican Republic, wish I could have stayed longer. The views and sunset were magnificent, and the hotel, built in a gaudy style, grows on you rapidly. Watching the sunsets over Rincon beach in the distance (the beach where the original Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed) on the large comfy sofas, in company of other travellers was amazing. I made quite a few new friends here (travellers and locals). The owner, who built up this hotel from very little, was kind, open, and really caring. I opted for the budget room which completely makes sense if travelling solo as you'll end up hanging out on the terrace or in the pool whilst at the hotel. The whole place felt safe, I could leave my phone, books, etc. by the pool without any concerns. The hotel is also right next to a bat cave, through which you can hike for several hours across 7 beaches to reach Rincon beach. Honestly I really loved it here, and highly recommend this hotel for solo travellers or couples. Note that there is no food service (you can order the day before) but the hotel provides full use of the kitchen facilities. I travelled by bus through the DR and highly recommend staying at the hotel with a car (as the hotel is 1.5km from the town center). It wasn't an issue as I love walking, and averaged 22k steps each day whilst in Las Galeras, but if you need something in town on short notice, a car would be ideally suited.

The host, David, is very kind and helpful. We felt well taken care of, but without any pressure. On my first day, I lost my bag, and when I told David, he quickly helped organize a search. In the end, I found it myself on the beach where I had left it the evening before, but the staff’s reaction was great.

- Biziocolla (10/5): Atmosfera unica e romantica a Las Galeras - Una struttura in una posizione così panoramica non la troverete da nessuna altra parte in Repubblica dominicana. Spiaggia privata, infinity pool sul tramonto di Samanà semplicemente unica. L'arredamento e l'architettura di tutto l'hotel sono molto artistiche e particolari. Ma la differenza la fa l'accoglienza di David (il proprietario che ha costruito con le sue mani tutto quanto) e Susana (la tuttofare che ci ha preparato deliziose colazioni e organizzato perfettamente ogni escursione esaudendo ogni nostra richiesta). Con loro sembra di stare in famiglia, sempre disponibili e gentili. L'hotel ha qualche piccolo difetto e qualche mancanza di manutenzione in qualche dettaglio, ma si capisce comunque la passione di David nel tenere in piedi tutto quanto con le sue sole forze.

Od začátku jsme věděli, že toto místo nás pro naše líbánky vyloženě volá – a to jsme ještě nevěděli proč. Ale následovali jsme pocit. :) Po zklamání v hotelu v Punta Caně jsme se rozhodli, že do Samany pojedeme hned. Nelitovali jsme, naopak. Místo nás okouzlilo už večer, stejně jako hostitel David. Hotel Sunset Samaná je fascinující prostor. Oceníte nádherný výlet na palmy, pobřeží, oceán. Najednou vidíte všechno z nadhledu a znovu si všimnete krásy, která je všude kolem. Není to jen hotel. Je to umělecké dílo, zážitek pro duši, o kterém věříte, že ve vás zůstane navždy. V celém areálu najdete mnoho uměleckých předmětů, prostoru pro odpočinek a estetických detailů, které vás znovu a znovu překvapí. David je skvělý člověk, který vybudoval hotel srdcem a je na něm vidět, jak je na své dílo právem pyšný. Je velice ochotný, obětavý a nesmírně mu záleží na tom, aby hosté byli spokojeni. Sunset Samaná přispěl velkým dílem k tomu, že jsme si Dominikánskou republiku zamilovali. U Davida jsme strávili nádherný čas a budeme rádi, když se budeme moci znovu vrátit. Snídaně nejsou součástí, ale můžete si je nechat připravit a také kousek najdete veškeré obchody a restaurace, včetně pečiva a vynikajícího ovoce. Autem 2-3 minuty, pěšky 10-15min. Také lze na pokoj objednat vynikající pizzu za skvělou cenu. Pláže všude kolem, prázdné s nádherným pískem a palmami. Kousek je obrovská jeskyně (cca 2min) s otevřenou oblohou - nádhera. Pokud někdo neví, co je luxus s velkým L, tak je to právě tohle místo. Ráj, kde si každý člověk uvědomí, co je na světě důležité. Že sám ŽIVOT je přímo před námi. La habitación que elegí era pequeña, sencilla,no tenía aire pero no me hizo falta, descansé muy bien. Pero en compensación tienes muchísimas áreas libres que siempre son frescas y por cierto hay una cocina común equipada con todo lo necesario por si quieres hacerte tu propia comida.

The ocean view and hearing the waves in the morning are worth it. The pool is nice. David was a good host, very attentive. The bed wasn’t great and many areas of the hotel need maintenance. La mejor experiencia de mi vida Lo que más me gustó: "Si buscas el paraíso en la tierra, lo acabas de encontrar. Mi estancia en Sunset Samaná fue sencillamente insuperable. El hotel no es el típico resort moderno y frío; es como vivir dentro de un museo de arte, con una estética preciosa donde el azul es el protagonista, creando una atmósfera de paz absoluta. David es un súper anfitrión, de esos que ya no quedan; su calidez y atención al detalle hicieron que me sintiera como un invitado de honor. La habitación es exageradamente cómoda, ideal para un descanso profundo. Lo que más me impactó fue la piscina infinita con unas vistas al paisaje que te quitan el aliento. Además, bajando por las escaleras del hotel, llegas directamente a una playa privada de ensueño, que hasta tiene zona de barbacoa... ¡un lujo total! Mención aparte para Susana, el apoyo fundamental de David. Ella es una profesional increíble y se encargó de organizarme los mejores tours de toda la zona, haciendo que mi viaje fuera fluido y emocionante. Es un lugar perfecto tanto si viajas solo (como fue mi caso), en pareja o con amigos. ¡Es un refugio mágico del que no te quieres ir nunca!"
- Piarina (10/5): Hermosas vistas en Samaná - La locación es hermosa , la tranquilidad y las vistas que tiene la casa son tal cual la foto. Por otro lado David un súper anfitrión, muy atento y alegre. Violet muy servicial y amable tambien . Si estan en la casa tomen los tour con Susana, no se van a arrepentir; conoce muy bien la ciudad y es súper cálida y elocuente. Que las areas comunes no siempre estaban en orden, pero eso depende mucho de los visitantes. Igual un poco más de control no estaría mal.

Situado en la mejor zona de las Galeras ya que se encuentra arriba en la montaña y dónde podrás disfrutar de unas vistas magníficas al mar durante todo el día y en especial al atardecer, de ahí su nombre Sunset Samaná. Podrás disfrutar de sus piscinas y de su playa privada sin multitudes. En fin, un paraíso dónde yo me he encontrado a un paso del cielo. Lo recomiendo al cien por cien.

- Brenda (10/5): Supera ampliamente las expectativas - Superó ampliamente mis expectativas. Es un paraíso y la relación precio-calidad es excelente. Me quedé en una habitación pequeña, acorde a mi presupuesto, pero los lugares comunes son maravillosos. Cuenta con una cocina comunitaria amplia, limpia y ordenada. Hay distintos espacios para comer, desde todos ellos la vista es increíble. Cuenta con una gran piscina infinita, ideal para refrescarse y ver desde allí el atardecer. Está ubicado al comienzo del recorrido de las 7 playas escondidas de Samaná, al otro lado de la Cueva de Duarte y 300 mts. de La Playita. Destaco la atención de David y su staff, están en cada detalle y te hacen sentir como en tu casa. Todo estuvo bien. ¡Ojalá pueda volver pronto!

Food options are limited in the immediate vicinity so we easily arranged with David for breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, which were all excellent. Susanna the cook is superb, and she also helped us arrange a day tour of the nearby national park and key in Samana Bay!
- Mariola (10/5): Vacaciones en el paraíso - El alojamiento en si es increíble, puede ser uno de los sitios más bonitos en los que he estado en todo el país. Mi estadía en este hotel fue sencillamente inolvidable. Desde el primer momento en que llegué, me recibieron con una sonrisa genuina y un servicio impecable que me hizo sentir como en casa, pero rodeada del paraíso. Las instalaciones no pueden ser más bonitas, amplias y muy bien cuidadas; cada rincón refleja atención al detalle. La habitación era un verdadero refugio de confort: cama comodísima, decoración elegante y un balcón con vista al mar que cada mañana me regalaba un espectáculo de colores durante el amanecer. El área de la piscina y la playa privada son de ensueño. Arena blanca, aguas cristalinas y un ambiente relajado que invita al descanso total El camino para llegar parece peor de lo que realmente es, pero estoy de acuerdo que de primeras parezca un poco aparatoso para llegar con coches bajos.

- Ramón (10/5): El mejor lugar de Las Galeras - Las vistas son inigualables. Vista al mar con el Cabo Cabrón al fondo y toda la Bahía del Rincón. David, el propietario es muy atento y busca hacerte sentir como en casa y eso es de agradecer. Susana hace unos desayunos y unas cenas de barbacoa riquísimas, también prepara comida típica dominicana. Durante tu estancia no dejas de descubrir pequeños detalles por todos lados y ver el atardecer en la piscina es increíble. El hotel es muy bonito y está muy limpio. También ofrecen servicio de lavandería a un precio razonable. Pese a estar frente a una playa y tener acceso privado a la misma, dicha playa no es muy accesible al baño, puesto que está llena de rocas/coral. Sin embargo, La Playita queda muy cerca y es una playa muy bonita y con todas las comodidades.

Con todas las comodidades de un hotel de ciudad pero con un auténtico paraíso natural y vistas espectaculares. El hotel tiene una decoración con encanto y su anfitrión, David, hará que os sintáis como en casa y que no os falte de nada. Sin duda la mejor opción de alojamiento que podéis hacer en la zona, con unas vistas de ensueño, una comodidad excelente y con encanto especial. - Julius (10/5): Samana Sunset – Een verborgen parel op de punt van het schiereiland - Wat een bijzonder plekje! Samana Sunset is een klein stukje paradijs, prachtig gelegen op het uiterste puntje van het schiereiland Samaná. Het complex is uniek ontworpen, verdeeld over meerdere lagen, met veel opvallende details en originele kenmerken. De kamers die we zagen waren allemaal verschillend en hadden elk hun eigen charme. We mochten kiezen uit twee prachtige kamers, en kozen uiteindelijk voor de kamer direct aan het zwembad. Deze was zeer ruim, met twee bedden, een keuken, een goede douche en zelfs twee baden. En zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, genoten we van prachtige zonsondergangen — zelfs vanuit onze kamer. Vanaf het zwembad loopt er een trap naar beneden naar een klein privéstrandje, voorzien van ligbedden en een palapa. Zowel het zwembad als het strand waren vrijwel altijd leeg, wat zorgde voor een heerlijk gevoel van rust. Voor de prijs die je betaalt is dit absoluut een ideale plek als je iets authentieks zoekt, in plaats van de grote resorts op het eiland. Een speciaal dankwoord aan David, de eigenaar, die altijd voor je klaarstaat en zich persoonlijk inzet om je verblijf perfect te maken. Tip: Neem voldoende contant geld mee, want geldautomaten in de omgeving zijn schaars en vaak leeg.

Uniquely designed and decorated property. - Everything you see on this listing is all true and images don’t do justice to the amazing views and epic sunsets that you hopefully witness. They are magnificent. It is true uniquely build and managed property that is a lifelong passion and creativity of the owner David. He is always there to offer his services, help and any assistance you need. Prior to booking and during our stay he became someone you know from long time. Very friendly and fun individual who will always make sure that you are at home during your stay. He suggested some great Italian restaurants in town and he is friends with everyone. Must visit place to have amazing food. He also manage to help us get excursions book with boat company to visit nearby beaches. It is a unique property with lots of unique characters in art and design which is personal creativity of David. The views of property from all levels are stunning. Beach is beautiful to view but it’s not a beach you can swim in front of property. There are nearby beaches which are beautiful and stunning. Roads to property will require you to have good SUV if you are driving. You won’t be disappointed with location and views if you are planning on staying in the area. There is nothing you would not like about the locations and property.

- David (10/5): A truly unique experience that is completely unlike anything else in Las Galeras! - David went out of his way to help me when I was in a tight spot because of a miscommunication with another reservation that was completely my fault. He truly went above and beyond to make sure I had a positive experience. Once I was in my room, my experience at the hotel was incredible. The views were insane, the private beach was unimaginably picturesque and I couldn't help feeling so so lucky that David was there to help me out of a tight spot. This place is truly a one-of-a-kind experience outside of the beauty of Las Galeras itself. The location is absolutely unbelievable, and I immediately felt welcome and a part of the community of people that had come there for whatever variety of reasons. I actually loved the property so much that I didn't even walk to the nearby beach, even though that is also one of the best beaches! I'll have to visit next time. Nothing.

The owner David is one of the kindest, nicest and smartest, host I have ever met. He really takes care of every detail to make you time the best possible. - Grigoriy_ (10/5): Beautiful partially operational hotel (renovation is underway), take cash and bug repellent - Very beautiful place for watching sunset and a great view on the bay. The host is very nice and tries to help with any Issues (you need to either know Spanish or use a translator app). Fancy hardwood and glass furniture throughout the property (pretty cool Viking style dinning table, etc) No good beach facilities (no clean water access, with some broken glass visible, no shower near beach, beach furniture is not in a good condition). Hotel/property is only partially operational (there are not operational bar and cafe). Be prepared to eat out or bring your food for breakfast. Infinity pool is not fully filled (because the lower level pool is empty), hence the pool looks like a regular one, although with a great view. There were tiny ants around the property (including the bedroom). They were easily deterred with a bug repellent. Windows did not have a mesh in the bathroom, allowing mosquitoes to enter and bite. A road to reach the property is a bit rough, but manageable. Credit card reader was not working and I had to drive to the closest ATM (6 min) to get cash. Considering the renovations are underway, hopefully these minor things will be fixed soon!
