Tea/coffee/ice water available all day plus great cookies on an afternoon & pastries on a morning. He patiently answered every question we had. He really wanted to make sure our stay was a positive experience. Thank you! The only thing I can think of - and it's TINY - is that the wallpaper next to the shower was peeling a little bit. Oh, and the ice bucket didn't have a liner ready to go, we had to ask the front desk for that. Honestly, though - those were negligible. Everything else was perfect!

- suzannew743 (10/5): Fantastic old port Portland hotel - This was the first time staying at the Portland Harbor Hotel. We went up to visit family living close by and decided to stay in Portland. This hotel did not disappoint. We were warmly greeted by the Valet and bell staff who took excellent care of our car. Check in was quite easy. We were traveling with my sister and Devin gave us rooms next to each other. My husband and I had a junior suite overlooking the courtyard. The room was well appointed with a sofa and 2 chairs and a separate bedroom with a king sized bed. There was a soaking tub and separate shower in the bathroom and nice big fluffy towels. Devin checked in with us through texts to make sure everything was good. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant and were very pleased. Valet service was very prompt when we needed the car. Check out was smooth. The location was fabulous. We were one block from the waterfront and right in the middle of the old port. Although it was too cold the courtyard looked like a wonderful spot to have breakfast or dinner in the warmer weather. I can’t say enough about this hotel. We will be coming back

Great location in the center of the action and walking distance to tons of great bars, restaurants, shops, and the harbor area. The service in the hotel has been top notch and a special shout out to Adam who has been so friendly and fun every time we see him, and he has given us so many wonderful recommendations of places to see and restaurants to visit in the area which has really helped us have a great stay. Highly recommend this hotel and definitely ask for Adam if you need anything!

- 911billc (6/5): Field Report from an Alien Observing Earth Hospitality - Greetings. I am an extraterrestrial visitor from Planet Reasonable Exchange, currently studying Earth’s “hotel” customs. I regret to inform my superiors that this location appears less like lodging and more like a highly evolved money-extraction experiment. Upon arrival, the humans demanded a $35-per-day “resort credit.” Fascinating concept. The credits must be used *the same day* or they self-destruct. Why? Unknown. On my planet, currency does not evaporate if you fail to buy an overpriced snack within 24 hours. This practice has left me… confused. Every activity seems to trigger another offering to the Money Gods. Desire to exist on the property? Fee. Need something basic? Fee. I avoided making eye contact with the lobby furniture in case it charged me for emotional support. The most perplexing part: the staff. They are kind. Pleasant. Helpful. Clearly excellent humans. Yet they calmly explain these fees as if this is all very normal and not an elaborate social experiment designed to see how much a guest will tolerate before questioning reality. In conclusion, this is not merely a hotel. It is a case study in advanced pocket siphoning, disguised as hospitality. I will be reporting back to my planet that Earth businesses sometimes operate on a “use it or lose it” philosophy, and that logic is optional. End transmission.

- Kerry (10/5): Quaint hotel with friendly staff. - Great staff. Bar was fun for pre dinner drinks. Great location to walk all around old port. Loved getting hot chocolate and coffee at the pantry on each floor. Nothing to say. Everything was great.
- cyndee (10/5): The Portland Harbor Hotel was perfectly located in Old Port and we were treated like royalty! - The hotel was in the middle of all the best spots in town, bars and restaurants, cute boutiques and vintage stores and it was right on the harbor so we bought some fresh seafood from the wharf on our way home. They upgraded us to a junior suite for our anniversary making it that much more special for us. They left candy and a note welcoming us. Also the $35 credit towards room service or at their bar and restaurant was such a special treat. We felt like royalty!
- Kelsey (10/5): Excellent. - The rooms were immaculate and the staff were incredibly friendly. They happily let us check in early. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the chef even opened an hour early to serve my husband and I. There was a food credit for the restaurant provides with our stay which was lovely. The location is phenomenal, with the best sushi restaurant in town attached to the hotel (you don’t even need to step outside). The beds were comfortable and the king executive suite was the nicest hotel room we have ever stayed in.

- Jacqueline (8/5): Good hotel for Portland - The outside seating area was good, as was location. Good, free coffee available all day. The rooms have hard wood floors, and are clean. For a Portland hotel - and we've stayed in a lot of them at this point - this is one we'd consider going back to. The room was very small though clean. I liked the pantry but it wasn't kept well stocked. On the Saturday we were told to ask for our car at 6am as 'every guest' was going to camp visiting day (as we were). When we got back around 5pm and taking a little break before going out for dinner, housekeeping knocked insistently over and over before we even had a chance to get to the door. We asked them not to bother, but wondered why, since they knew everyone would be gone all day, housekeeping didn't simply come earlier. Weird. The $35 daily charge and $45 parking fee were exorbitant and presumably how they come up as cheaper than other hotels.

- 792katherinep (6/5): Great Hotel, Customer Service Needs A Lot Of Work - We stayed here the week after Christmas. The hotel itself is great. Right downtown, nice rooms, coffee and cookies on every floor. Really good breakfast in the morning. Due to bad weather coming in, we had to come a day early. We were told to book separately from our reservation. That was no problem, we did so. I booked with one credit card and then when we got to the hotel used a separate credit card for the valet. Upon checking out, I confirmed that everything was to go on the original credit card that I used to book, not the one I had used for the valet. They confirmed the card number and we left. A week later, I look at my credit card account and sure enough they charged the wrong card. Had to call the hotel, explain the situation, in which I barely got an apology. Lack of details, customer service, and paying attention will keep us away from this hotel in the future.

- Gary (8/5): It’s a great hotel with an extraordinary location for walking just about anywhere – good restaurants - The location was absolutely the best – the rooms were spacious – we had two queens in the bathroom was very nice including the shower The valet service, which we hardly ever use was excellent as well and the staff down there superb – really wonderful people as was the staff at the front desk, and in fact the entire staff across all the various positions was excellent and helpful The food – I ordered the gnocchi and it was absolutely the worst thing I have ever been served in any restaurant – it was obviously frozen thawed and then cooked and then allowed to get cold and it was like kibble –so dry — there was no sauce, no seasoning and I had to send it back which I think is the only time in 60 years of eating out I’ve ever sent anything back—and I felt very sorry for the waitress who was wonderful, but my wife’s chicken tacos were also barely edible – they were tough stringy and the seasoning was so bland it could’ve gone with any dish and had no hint of being Mexican food – it just as easily could’ve been stir fried chicken on a taco.

The room itself was clean, the garden view isn’t exactly an upgrade in December. Comfy bed. Easy walk to Commercial Street. 45 dollars for parking is steep even for Portland. The elevator was broken and we were offered an “ upgrade “ to a quieter room. I am in my 70 s and husband is in his 80’ and we got to carry our bags up a flight of stairs to our upgraded room. The hall floors were not vacuumed, quite dirty in fact. Our room was odd, had to rearrange furniture to access bed from both sides. The TV was 12 feet away, binoculars would’ve helped. The room was clean.

- Beachgirl2056 (10/5): “5 star hotel in Portland “ - My husband n I truly enjoy staying here for its location which is very convenient to restaurants n shops!! The rooms are very comfortable n spacious. The outdoor garden has beautiful lit Christmas trees, heated cushion seats around the large gas fire pit. The Thanksgiving buffet looked amazing n delicious! My husband n I sat at the bar for a drink on Thanksgiving afternoon n Rylan makes great cocktails. Only thing was the bar only had 2 bar seats as all the other chairs were at tables for the buffet, so with us sitting at bar in the only 2 seats made it awkward as other people would come to bar area n now can’t sit which then took business away from Rylan n thus PHH. Other than this, we look forward in our next stay😊

- Charisse (10/5): Beautiful room, and great location - The hotel is BEAUTIFUL! The staff was amazing. All of the staff that I dealt with were amazing and friendly. The bistro/pub that is part of the hotel, was really good. The bartender was attentive, and made a great espresso martini. Parking is pricey. You have to park in the garage, and valet your car because there is nowhere else to park. I would like to see the hotel provide some sort of discounted rate for guests.

- Leland (1/5): Stay at the harbor Hotel in Portland was overpriced dirty unsatisfactory didn’t sleep a wink all night and totally unsat - Not much truthfully, dated,dirty, unkempt, NOT a luxury hotel I had asked the hotel A month early if I could book an early arrival time, the hotel was unwilling to grant me this wish they said earliest check-in was 4 o’clock .I said 4 o’clock will be fine, but ended up having to wait almost 45 minutes for a room. I had an appointment at 6:30 that I had to be at and I had to get dinner beforehand checking in after 4:30. It was really a push and we had to skip dinner to make our meeting. The hotel offered to give me a gift basket as an apology, but it was basically Hershey’s pretzels a box of skittles and two sodas I returned the gift, very upset and displeased. Upon getting into the room, we discovered that the chair was ripped with a button hanging off of it. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling. The rooms carpeting was old and dirty the carpeting in the whole hotel in the lobby coming up the stairs was old worn out and dirty. The whole hotel needs to uplift it should not be advertising as a luxury hotel . Staff is not experienced in treating people right and the whole experience was a letdown.

All the staff was amazing, professional, courteous, and eager to assist with any questions we had and demonstrated a joy to work in this establishment kudos to management! Our visit was great start to finish. This place is beautifully located for walking to all shopping and taking in sites. The accommodation's for the onsite parking and dining is definitely and added bonus!!! We will surely be back and stay here!!!!

Within walking distance of many great places to see while on Portland. I didn't like the surprise of the valet parking for $60. I did not notice it anywhere until we were already there. It made it not as affordable of a stay. Out of my league to stay without that. But if was not regretted.

Bath toiletries were high end and luxurious. Bed was very comfortable room luxury, clean and decor brand new. Nautical themed. Check in was easy and Adam was helpful with nearby recommendations. Valet was just that. No assistance with baggage. Check out with Roman was a bit dismissive. Could have been more attentive.
