• William (10/5): - The perfect sized hotel by the sea! Personal service that the big chains, where I often stay, cannot match. Always got the feeling that the owner sincerely cares about the customer and that the importance of the almighty $ is down the list. Amenties like a bathrobe, beach towel, quality toiletries, mini bar... that you would only expect at a much more expensive hotel, are provided, along with a very good buffet breakfast.

• William (4/5): - I thought that I had booked a full service hotel. I got a one room apartment with no staff. Over six nights my room was serviced once. The area is extremely inconvenient, with transportation being a long walk away on an extremely noisy ring road. I had no direction as to how to get in to the property. I figured out, with the help of strangers on the street, that I had to ring the bell of the apartment. Then, after several rings and a long wait, someone showed up on a bicycle to give me access. Extremely overpriced. I'm not happy about the whole things.

I repeat, it is not an "inn" it's more like a short term rental, so I was disappointed - the check-in process was done by a guy that lives downstairs - not necessarily a bad thing but Expedia did not provide any information saying otherwise - this place is hidden, once we found it and got inside the room is clean, however
• Verified traveler (6/5): Spacious and plain, but uncomfortable bed/pillows. - Building was very quiet and room was clean and very spacious. It's not really a hotel, more like a converted dormitory that feels deserted in summer. It is a convenient short walk from main train station. The pillows and bed were not comfortable (pillows oversized and too firm, and the bed caved in at the middle.
• KEIKO (10/5): - フィレンツェに連泊中に、日帰り旅行でベネチアにいきましたが、ベネチアからフィレンツェに帰る最終電車が19:40だと知らず、20:00にベネチア駅に行ってショックを受けました。とりあえずフィレンツェの近くまで行こうと、ボローニャのホテルを探してセントラルシティインに予約しました。着いたのが夜中の12時ごろなのに、嫌な顔一つせず、スタッフのFabioがホテルの前の道路まで迎えにきてくれました。スタッフのFabioも、電話で予約を受けてくれた女性も、とても親切でした。部屋も素敵で清潔で、本当に素晴らしいホテルでした。

They asked me if I was in the right place… I was not told how to reenter the building after the check in time so I had no dinner. The shower was ok as were the towels. I could have been better

• Oscar (6/5): No hicieron limpieza, muy caro para lo que es - Se encuentra en una zona que no luce bien pues hay muchos homeless cerca. La atención fue buena en el check in aunque la decoración de la habitación deja mucho que desear. No limpiaron el cuarto, ni baño. Esperaba que hicieran la cama, vaciaran el bote de basura y acomodaran el baño y se llevaran las toallas mojadas y no lo hicieron. Por el precio que pagamos definitivamente no vale la pena quedarse ahi.
• Zoran (4/5): - The location is difficult to find, the listed phone numbers do not work and the process for gaining access to your room is super inconvenient. The location is close to the train station but is a bit of a seedy area. However….. the biggest issue is the staff. Or rather, the lack thereof. This place doesn’t have many rooms but it still takes them 2.5 hours to respond to WhatsApp messages. Also…. Only once you get there do you find out there isn’t really any luggage storage but they will hold it for you for €10 due to their inconvenience. It’s like….. excuse me? Paying customers are now an inconvenience? No Thankyou. It’s a shame because the room itself is more than adequate, if a little noisy. Also, 2 coffee pods in a room that can accomodate 3 people for days, is at least 4 pods short. The owners are frugal and stingy and I’d recommend you stay elsewhere

You are renting a room in someone’s 3 BDR apartment where you will be sharing a hallway that leads to your door. The room we had (#1) was modern and had an ensuite. But there is zero service; no lobby; no personal contact whatsoever.
• Christian (8/5): Schöner Aufenthalt - Das Zimmer ist am Rande der Altstadt an der Ringstrasse gelegen. Trotzdem ist der Strassenlärm kaum zu hören. Das Bett ist komfortabel, das Badezimmer zweckmäßig.Der Kontakt verläuft über WhatsApp, was sehr gut geklappt hat.

• Paeivi (10/5): Very nice apartment few minutes from Bologna C:le - Apartment with 4 separate units / rooms with own bath. Building entrance a little hidden in yard, normal living house entrance. Remember to tell at what time you are arriving. I sent a whatsapp at arrival and was met within 2 minutes. Very friendly host. Clean, newly renovated room with spacious bathroom. Fridge, coffeemaker, hairdryer, alarmclock, just everything there. Quiet, even at night.

• Holly (6/5): - First off, not an Inn- some private rooms in an apartment building. Be sure to arrange check-in ahead of time. Host was friendly but not at the 'inn'. Room was smallish, bathroom was nice, private and across the hall. Not a very inviting area of town but across from the regional bus station, not too far from train station. Not a pleasant night walk to the historic part of town. We chose it because of train proximity. Bed not US type king, more like a queen.
• Keita (10/5): - It is very close to Bologna Central Station. You can also walk to the old town of Bologna. The rooms are clean, neat and comfortable. International travellers should be aware that they need to call the room owner when checking in.

• Nancy (8/5): - Like others have said, it was difficult to locate this property, because we were looking for a hotel, not a room in an apartment house. Once there, the owner did allow us to store our suitcases. The room is modern and clean and attractive with a window on a main Street. there are many street people in the area. It would’ve been good to have some mugs and some utensils. There are only very small plastic, espresso, cups and glasses. But there was a mini fridge and a one cup coffee maker.
• James (2/5): It’s not a hotel. It is a room in a private flat - When ticking the ‘hotel only’ filter this property is shown as a hotel. It isn’t. It’s a room in a residential apartment. No front desk, no staff at any point in our stay just a WhatsApp message about how to let ourselves into their apartment.
• Judith (6/5): - Whilst staff were very helpful, the property wasn’t as described. It isn’t a Hotel or Inn, just a room in a residential block. Quite difficult to find - no exterior sign and only be peering through barred securely doors could we see a name which was similar ( amongst many plaques). There was nobody there for check in although we had arranged a time, but they came quickly when we contacted them. There is no luggage storage though that was advertised, but the owners were helpful and allowed us to leave bags when we queried this. Our room was clean and well appointed.

• John (8/5): - Room was pleasant. Large with a nice bathroom. It was definitely more like an air B and B than a hotel. Took me by surprise since it was unlike anything I booked on Expedia before. Finding it and getting access had air B and B quirkiness.

Bed frame uncomfortable. No obvious signage for the 'hotel'. I had to run the gauntlet of three locks to get in the room. No food available on site .

• Verified traveler (2/5): Shared apt with no soundproofing and stingy hosts - Shared apartment with private bath apparently remolled in a old office space etc. There is 4 rooms all together. There is no soundproofing at all. I could hear crystal clear all the discussions word by word from other rooms not to mention whistling, music playing, singing and farting of the dutch guys next room well past midnight. Not possible to sleep without earplugs. There is no reception and nobody is on the property. Cleaning, supposedly to be done daily, was done between every 2-3 days. Free bottled water daily means glass jar of regular tap water placed on the fridge only on the first day. There is no heating whatsoever in the bathroom, so when its still spring and temperatures below +10c, the bathroom becomes cold and damp. There is a heated towel rack, but its not working, as its disabled by the owners to probably save on electricity, so all towels are left wet. There is also an aircon unit, but again no remote given so cannot be used, as the owners seems to be stingy. When paying 100€ per night, you would expect some kind of quality. Unfortunately Bologna was full, so had no other choice. Avoid at all cost in this price level.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - The owner is very nice and was always responsive to my messages. Room is clean and confortable. Coffee machine was available. Sadly there was only 3 sheets of toilet paper, so that is my only complaint, as I had no left over toilet paper available.

Camera pulita, ben illuminata con molte prese elettriche a disposizione. Ottimo riscaldamento! Bollitore e macchina per caffè espresso a disposizione. Carino il pensiero di acqua e cioccolatini offerti. Posto del tutto piacevole.

• francesco (8/5): It's not an hotel - tiny B&B close to central station. no elevator. no public space to live in, just your room and the shared kitchen, the place is really new and confortable, the personnel is really really really gentle. good place to spand a couple of night when transiting.Or for a weekend in the city centre. It miss a plate outside the building.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Central City Inn Rooms in Bologna - The hotel location is good cause its near to national bus station. Actually it’s a flat of an apartment rather than a Hotel. The student population was high throughout the apartment. Although the authorities are concerned, their English is not very good. Room choices may not match the given room. (Although we booked a triple room, we couldn't stay in a triple room for the last two nights because we were 2 people.) Otelin konumu Otobüs istasyonuna yakın olması sebebiyle güzel. Bir apartmanda bir daire olarak değerlendirmenin daha sağlıklı olacağı kanaatindeyim. Apartman geneli ise öğrenci ağırlıklı. Yetkilileri ilgili olsa da ingilizceleri pek iyi değil. Oda seçimleri ile verilen Odanın uyuşmaması söz konusu olabilir. (Biz 3 kişilik oda rezervasyonu yapmamıza rağmen, Son iki gece 2 kişi olduğumuz için 3 kişilik odada kalamadık.)

• TETSUYA (8/5): 一人旅 - 宿泊先の場所がわかりづらい。アパート？マンション？のような建物の2階を借りてやってるのか、名前の入った看板もなく、通行人に聞かないと見つけれないと思う。部屋は比較的キレイで、駅から徒歩圏内、市内へは15分ぐらい？Wi-Fiは早い、ベッドは少し固い。
• WAN-HSUAN (6/5): 其實沒有免費早餐的住宿 - [Check-in] 入住的時間從下午4點開始，沒有櫃台，可以先按門鈴，房東會開車過來，大概等5分鐘。 [房間] 我們住在2號房，房間很乾淨，但是廁所要穿過走道，雖然那間廁所是我們獨用的，房東還另外給我們廁所的鑰匙(以防別人偷用?)，不過就滿不方便的。 [設施] 網頁上有寫他附免費早餐，但其實並沒有，只有提供玄關放置的膠囊咖啡，有種被騙的感覺
• Hewittmom (6/5): Very clean - The room was very clean and appeared as advertised. It was an equal distance to walk to train station and to the historic centre. The place was hard to find as it is in an apartment complex. This is not a bed and breakfast as there is no breakfast. The hotel around the corner offers breakfast for 5€.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Located Within Walking Distance of Train Station - Central City Inn is within walking distance of the train station. It was a little difficult to find, but we called the owners and they were able to direct us. Breakfast consisted of expresso. We booked a room with a private bathroom. The bathroom is located outside of the room.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Extremely clean and good location! - I enjoyed my stay here. The location was great since I wanted to be near the train station but only 15 min to the Center. Though I saw several folks not preferring the external bathroom, I didn't mind it since it was only for me and though I had a use the key to get in an out, it was fine. The room and the bathroom were very clean and well kept. I do agree they should not call it a B&B, for they only offer coffee. Great espresso though! :-) I would recommend this place!
• 392jow (8/5): Excellent location - We stayed here for six nights and the room was immaculate with a great shower. Unfortunately there's no breakfast, despite the name but don't let that put you off. Just 5 minutes from the cental station and opposite the bus station it's great for touring the local area. There is a fridge in the room and a large Spar supermarket at the station. The city centre is less than a 10 minutes walk and the owners will store your luggage on check-out day for €3.50. Transfer from the airport on the BLQ bus for €6. There is also a map provided for you and the owners have information about the city and the area. The city centre is beautiful and you can book tickets from the Tourist Info Centre(Piazza Maggiore) and a time slot for the infamous Torre degli Asinelli (Europe's oldest medieval tower) for €5 which offers fantastic views over the city. It is essential to take hand wipes though as the humidity and age of wood can leave your hands quite sticky and uncomfortable from the banister! That's my ultimate travellers' tip! At the tourist info you can also book various trips and activities but we arranged our own on the internet prior to our trip and visited the Ducati factory and museum which was interesting and informative and every bike is built there. This was €30 each and an early morning taxi cost €15 but it was easier however we were able to catch the local bus back into the centre for €1.30. There are many excellent places to eat try Vamola on Via delle Moline where we had three evening meals which were excellent. Try the lasagna (€9) tagatialle (€9) or rabbit stew (11€) and the surroundings, staff and service is superb. Try wine and tapas (€5 for a small wooden platter) at La Prosciutteria on Via Oberdan and drinks can be enjoyed in the bars overlooking the church -well worth a visit- on Via Santa Stefano or at Manico where their local speciality of chocolate tart was sublime on Via degli Orefici. Alcoholic drinks can sometimes be really expensive but are often served with extensive nibbles so bare that in mind when ordering. The most excellent gelato (we enjoyed lemon, berry and chocolate -which was more like a rich mousse) can be found at Le Tre Gemme on Via Marsala. Finally tea in this city seems to be regarded as a luxury and can be very expensive- sometimes up to €5. If you're English and like a good cuppa then visit Bar Impero on Via dell Indipenzenza. Here very hot tea is served in a pot for €2 but be sure to ask for English Breakfast. Try another coffee shop Aroma (via Porte Nuove) where Rick Stein visited! This is a great base for touring the area we went to Ferrara on the local bus (€9 return) and on the train to Parma (€15 return) and Modena ((€7.50 return).Modena also has Enzo Ferrari's house and museum for any budding Motorsport fans. All tickets can be booked in the station on the self- service machines and you can select your language. They are all close to their respective town centres too. However, if you only have time to visit one place then I'd recommend Ravenna which is beautiful and has some of the most amazing and complete mosaics and is a world Heritage Site. The Basilica is breathtaking. Again this can be reached on the train (€14return) and all journeys are less than one hour. There's also a church with a hidden surprise so head towards the main Tourist Info centre and investigate the large church there. Overall the city is beautiful with exceptional architecture and unusual portico corridors and there is plenty of good shopping, opportunities for people watching and delicious local food with lovely places to relax for a drink. An excellent choice for a city break which is off the beaten track and this place is a good one to enhance your stay.
• Stephen (8/5): Clean & good location - The accomodation doesn't actually serve breakfast despite being called a b&b which I explained to the owner. Clean rooms in an excellent location and would stay there again but you need to be aware of breakfast.
• Cheryl (4/5): - Unable to locate hotel after 3 hours of driving around Bologna and no phone number to follow up. Initial attempt via GPS took us to a different B and B.
• Verified traveler (6/5): External bathroom not convenient. No breakfast - External bathroom is not convenient.
• Munir (8/5): Nice hotel for a few days' stay. - The room is spacious and so goes the bathroom. My only complaint is what passed for a breakfast.
• Roger and Jo (10/5): Very good hotel in quiet central location. - We would definitely revisit this hotel. The location is excellent - 5 minutes walk from the central station and about 10 minutes or so the Piazza Maggiore. Very comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The owner and his wife were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was minimal and calling it 'B and B' is a little misleading. However, coffee and water are available free of charge 24/7. We had the room with a separate bathroom. This was not a problem - the bathroom was private to our room and was excellent.
• elifo100 (10/5): Lovely stay in Bologna! - The B&B is about a 10 minute walk away from the train station and also very close to the city centre. The rooms are very clean and everything was new. You can find fresh towels and shower gels in the bathroom. The owners were super nice, they had a couple of breakfast treats in the room because their usual breakfast place was closed for that day. They also gave us a map and a guide book of the city for us to use. The B&B also had a coffee machine in the entrance. The wifi was great, no problems with connection. We were three people and the room was spacious so we had a great and comfortable one night stay. Wish we could stay longer!
• jane (6/5): - Not very clear about the B&B system, which was with a voucher but we went over the weekend and the bar that accepted the vouchers was closed, so we had coffee from a Nespresso machine outside the room and some biscuits in the room
