The kitchen isn’t clean. Water on the floor in the fridge. There is also not enough cooking utensils as cutlery or even knifes to prepare your food. You need to pay a $10 basket for your equipment. Bathrooms/showers aren’t clean either. You can literally see that they are under staff.

• pietro (1/5): - I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at Europa Melbourne. I was staying there and also doing free accommodation work, cleaning the kitchen during night shifts and helping keep the hostel clean. During my stay, there was a group of male guests who constantly made jokes, insults, inappropriate comments, and behaved in a very disrespectful way toward me. Some of these situations felt clearly homophobic and targeted. When I responded to defend myself and tried not to let them disrespect me, they went to reception and falsely claimed that I was harassing them. Instead of listening fairly to both sides or trying to understand the real situation, management immediately blamed me without giving me a real chance to explain. The manager was extremely rude, cold, and unprofessional. I felt judged, unsupported, and treated unfairly from the beginning. After working for the hostel and helping every night, I expected at least basic respect, but instead I was simply forced to leave. The atmosphere became toxic very quickly, and I felt that staff handled the conflict badly and without fairness. I left feeling humiliated and disappointed. The location is central, but management and the way they handle guests is very poor. I would especially warn LGBTQ+ travelers to be careful, because I did not feel protected or respected there. I would not return and I would not recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a safe and respectful environment.

• Sarah (10/5): Agréable 1-2semaine - Bien situé dans le CBD de Melbourne. Idéal si vous venez d’arriver en ville et que vous cherchez un hostel pour séjourner 1-2semaines. La chambre, lit très confortable et chambre rénovée. Rooftop très cool et personnel hyper accueillant, sympa! Sinon j’ai trouvé l’hostel très propre! Repenser le système des frigos, c’est vraiment pas hygiénique de poser sa nourriture au sol (même si c’est dans des bin). Installer des rideaux aux fenêtres dans les chambres rénovées (lumière du lampadaire qui éclaire la chambre), des rideaux sont installés au lit mais ça n’est pas suffisant.

Même après 21h.

• Kathleen (9/5): - Ich hatte eine wirklich großartige Zeit im Hostel Europa in Melbourne und kann es absolut weiterempfehlen! Die Betten waren super gemütlich, sodass man sich nach einem langen Tag perfekt erholen konnte. Die Badezimmer waren größtenteils sehr sauber. Ab und zu lag ein leichter Geruch in der Luft, was aber eher an anderen Gästen lag und definitiv nicht am immer fleißigen Reinigungspersonal, das ständig im Einsatz war. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir das Konzept der Badezimmer: Es gab viele einzelne, abschließbare Kabinen mit eigener Toilette und Dusche, was viel Privatsphäre bietet. Man musste nie warten, da ausreichend vorhanden war. Der Check-in und Check-out verliefen total unkompliziert und schnell – alles sehr entspannt organisiert. Auch die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Morgens war sie immer sehr sauber, während es abends durch viele Gäste etwas chaotischer wurde, was aber ganz normal ist. Ein weiterer großer Pluspunkt war das Internet – das WLAN hat durchgehend sehr gut funktioniert, was gerade beim Reisen super wichtig ist. Die Lage ist einfach perfekt: zentral, aber trotzdem angenehm ruhig, sodass man gut schlafen konnte. Insgesamt wirklich ein mega gutes Hostel und ich verstehe die negativen Bewertungen überhaupt nicht – ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen!

Había mucho ruido y desorden, una noche alguien rompió la ventana de la habitación con un gran estruendo dejando todo con vidrio, y aunque el personal reaccionó bien limpio de inmediato a la mañana siguiente, el susto y en general el no poder dormir me dejo con una mala sensación.

Es gibt sehr viele Bäder. Leider gibt es keine kleinen Regale bei den Betten oder im Bad um Sachen ablegen zu können.

I arrived after a long flight and the staff were really kind : they offered me the chance to take a shower right away, which I really appreciated after traveling. The luggage storage was free, which was very convenient, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast included in the stay was also great ! The location is fantastic. It’s right in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, making it easy to walk to many restaurants and public transport. I was very happy with my stay and would recommend this hostel :)

• Gourley (7/5): One of the better hostel in Melbourne - Most comfortable beds out of all the hostels in Melbourne Very noisy, despite having notices around the building and the reception saying strict no noise after 9pm rule. I had people kicking a ball in the alleyway and guys making a fuss in the halls after 9pm and no one did anything to shut them up, it went on for a while
