Guest Reviews
- Harold (8/5): - It is part of a stretch of older attached row houses---You need to know there are steep narrow stairs (like those in the houses in Amsterdam) to go up and down---While my room was old, the bed was wonderfully comfortable--The breakfast is substantial, an omelet or pancakes, cereal, yogurt--I would definitely stay there again, and will.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner and staff are very nice. Our stay was very pleasant. We would return and recommend staying here, as it is quiet and peaceful.
- JamesB (8/5): - Place was clean. Staff was really friendly. However, the floors are squeaky and the walls are thin you can hear conversations outside your room.
- Delong (10/5): - Lovely place.
Pros
Owner is very friendly and kind.
Room of reasonable size with a very confortable bed.
Breakfast includes omelette or pancakes.
Cons
Not quite sound proof, squeaky floors and early bird neihhbors may wake you up in the morning.
Low water pressure in the shower.
Definitely will comeback.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Home away from Home. Near subways, activities.Just perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The most delicious breakfast was served!I enjoyed a ham and cheese egg omelette, scrumptious fresh, hot croissants and fresh brewed coffee. The location was very convenient to all the wonderful neighborhood shopping and museums. I recommend this bed-and-breakfast Kylie.

- Christine (10/5): - Tranquille, respectueux de chacun, belle ambiance de groupe le matin, au déjeuner. La dame qui fait la cuisine est très souriante et serviable. Les journées commencent bien chez Le Simone !
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The beautiful architecture and style of the building was great. The bathroom needed some repair however; the shower door was missing a part and the toilet banged against the wall every time I got off, like the seal was not installed properly.
- Heather (6/5): Clean and solid - Le Simone is very clean, the breakfast cooked by Nicole is absolutely delicious and she asks you what you would like. She made us feel welcomed. The room we had (room 1), however, is right beside the check in office and next to the kitchen. The walls are not well insulated, so you can hear every conversation and it was impossible to sleep past 6am when the staff begins cooking. We were only given one towel and one wash cloth each for two nights, which is minor overall but a small thing that would have helped. Our bathroom door was a pocket door and was not able to close, which can be awkward at times even for a couple. This is a walkup, and the top of the stairs can be a bit of a trip hazard. Overall, Le Simone is a cute, clean, safe bed and breakfast that does the trick for a short stay. A solid 3 out of 5. PS, bring your own toiletries (only shampoo is provided).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great breakfasts good location not ce linens. Stairs and narrow hall to get up to rooms.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the breakfast, the sitting area, open terrace.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Did not like the stairs, otherwise a pleasant stay. Air conditioning would be a plus.
- Ziad (8/5): - Lovely bed and breakfast close to all of Montreal's attractions
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property is well located and within walking distance of good restaurants and shopping.
- Mike (10/5): - It was a great spot in the village. Very close walk to St Catherine St. Staff was very nice!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very tidy and cute property, room is clean and super comfy bed. Love the home made jams and freshly baked croissants at breakfast. We made a mistake on our reservation and the owner was nice enough to let us stay one extra night . Thank you Rocco . We would stay here again .
- paul (8/5): Worth it! - Great value! Good location.
It’s an old house so creaky stairs & floorboards!
Lovely character though.
- Roman (8/5): Good accom near the Village - Great accommodation near the Village. Good breakfast and helpful staff. The only annoyance is their ultra narrow staircase which is near impossible to climb with heavy luggage.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is not the Ritz Carlton but it was clean the staff was nice and excellent included breakfast they made me an omelette
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is such a lovely bed and breakfast. Breakfast is so delicious in the morning. The room was spacious, and we had everything we needed. The host was friendly and helpful. There’s a little library with travel books and magazines. The hotel is close to everything. Fantastic stay and highly recommended!
- Myriam (10/5): Great price for a stay in downtown Montreal - I stayed at Le Simone B&B for about 3 weeks for a long work trip in Montreal, and I highly recommend it. It's a really good value for money.
The breakfast is really good (much better than some other more expensive hotels I stayed at!), wifi was reliable and strong, bed/room was comfortable, etc. There was also a pretty cheap laundry service (10$) which was super convenient for me, since it was a long trip and I needed to do laundry. You're also a few minutes away from the subway (Berri-UQAM station), which is convenient for going around the city.
The local area (Gay Village area) can be a little dingy. I saw a lot of police cars patrolling at nights, or just parked there during the day and doing surveillance. There were also a few agressive panhandlers on Ontario Street or Sainte-Catherine. Nothing happened to me and I didn't felt unsafe, especially since the B&B is only a 2-minutes walk from the subway, but just be aware that it's not a fancy neighbourhood.
Also, just keep in mind that there are some narrow stairs (all the rooms are on the second or third floor) - so if you have leg issues, or if you have several heavy luggage, it might not be the most convenient option for you - but it won't be a problem if you have a small luggage (like a carry-on) or a backpack!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a very cute place, rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Free breakfast and the stay was very nice
- David (8/5): Good Location - The hotel was in a good location and was great value for money. The breakfast and service had a little to be desired.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is the third time I have stayed, and it will not be the last. The owner is very welcoming and the morning cook is great and provides you with a great menu.
You can’t beat the location! Close to the main Metro hub, grocery & liquor store, cafés, restaurants, and nightlife.
Since this is an older building, do not expect modern luxurious hotel standards, but it is charming, clean, and has a sense of home. Great value and all you need when visiting Montréal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect for quick a sleep before hitting the road again.
Thank you!
- Craig (10/5): Very pleasant - Breakfast was delicious and congenial. Staff was very accommodating of our late arrival. Great location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Only location is good - Other than the excellent location overall the place I'd rather run down and room is not very clean my quilt cover comes with so much stain makes me uncomfortable. Toilet and shower area is clean though. One of the day for breakfast the staff actually make and serve me burnt pancake so I was like how can this happen when many reviews said its breakfast is very good. So if hv a choice choose another place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very convenient and close to Metro. The room was nice and bed comfortable.
- Nicolette (10/5): Great place - It was a great place to stay. Very friendly staff and great breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Value - Overall I was happy with my stay and would stay again. This B&B is in a Victorian row house which requires walking up some fairly narrow stairs to get to your room and check-in. Our room was large with high ceilings, a 32" flat screen TV with a cable box. The room also had a sink in the bedroom and a shower and toilet in the separate en-suite, which won't be a surprise to someone who has travelled in Europe. The location seems excellent for those who want to experience Montreal's night life which is a short walk away but not right outside. Roc, our host, made arrangements for us to arrive after reception hours which was much appreciated. Breakfast was artisanal with a choice of pancakes or an omelette, good coffee, fresh fruit, home-made croissants, home-made jam - magnifique!
- Ronald (8/5): A long weekend in Montreal - Montreal is always a great weekend getaway
- Adam (10/5): A nice, good located place to stay in Montreal - Excellent, nice room, clean. Many steps, difficult to handle with 2 big suitcases.
- Jeffrey (6/5): I've had better! - Toilet broke, standing water in sink. Tv didn't work. Stair ways almost straight up and skinny, hard to carry luggage.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It's so nice romantic place, clean and artistic deco room, very convenient location which close to majority of spots.
- Arthur (10/5): HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY! - The staff were exceptional, great breakfast and location was the best
- Verified traveler (6/5): Friendly staff but tilted room and minimal breakfa - Room was tiny but cute, however the floor was severely tilted - making me dizzy. Staff was friendly but breakfast was bare minimal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - Would highly recommend this location as it was in walking distance of all most every thing we wanted to see. Staff was very helpful and friendly
- Lee Philip (10/5): First Time in Montréal - We had a fabulous stay for our first time in Montréal. Roc and the staff at Le Simone were very accommodating. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a private bath. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we were never up early enough to experience breakfast. The location was very convenient and only a 2 minute walk to St. Catherine St. We will definitely stay there again soon!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Superb Location - Great location (just steps away from the subway) and a fantastic, helpful host!
- Jon (4/5): Over rated - Excellent location. Old house with narrow corridors. Very nice staff (2 young persons in the kitchen and room service). Manager (owner?) somehow unpleasant. Overpriced for the below average quality of the rooms. I guess one pays for the very central location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Simple BnB - Simple BnB feel, great location, friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - Excellent B&B in Downtown Montreal!
- j (2/5): - The service is very bad and the room is not security still using the old fashioned with the key and the room is not clean I will never going to go back
- Pierre (10/5): Surpring Charm and Graciousness - Le Simone is located in my favorite part of town, less than a half-hour stroll from the Old Port, and just a half-block from an entrance to Berri-UQAM Metro Station. The room was charming, with cleaned-old-brick wall and broad-board wooden floor for quaintness, but a big-screen panel TV and contemporary bathroom for a pleasantly complementary modernity. Service from both staff and the patron himself was exceptionally cordial. Though I was only there for a 1-night stay, they remembered and addressed me by my name. This will be my first choice whenever booking in Montreal again.
- Mark (8/5): Tiny Delight - The room was too small for all the furniture but they had several common areas to use. The included breakfast was delightful. Around the corner from the gay village and Chinatown and A 15 minute walk from Old Montreal.
