Guest Reviews
- Talia (10/5): Amazing cozy and unique place - Unique and eclectic decor, comprehensive bathroom items for guests to use, super comfortable bed, and very friendly hosts that greeted us even though we arrived late at night. Definitely recommend a stay at Scott Creek Farm. The property is awesome as well, with a. creek running through that you can sit at and listen to the water. Breakfast provided was also simple but tasty and more than we needed.
- April (10/5): Wonderful, whimsical stay - The care, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail were superb. The room smelled a bit of moth balls.
- Kathy (7/5): It was in a safe place and not a hotel - It was charming and funky. Great sitting on the deck listening to the birds and the creek The funky decorations and the creek
- Joann (8/5): We enjoyed the hosts and their creative style !! - The hosts were wonderful. Great communications and help before the trip. As you can see in the photos, the hosts have a very eclectic playful style with many collectables. Not for everyone, but we enjoyed the creativity. Don was busy planting a raised organic garden. Mary had the room spotlessly clean and stocked with every possible item a person might need or enjoy!! The breakfast with choices of fruit, toast and cereal was just what we wanted. They are very pet friendly and it was so appreciated. The little walk to the creek was great for the dogs. We are both over 80 with creaky knees and balance concerns so our only concern with the facility that I noted was that we had to be so careful carrying things and taking the dogs on leashes going up and down the steps to the nice little porch in front of our door. Maybe I should have mentioned that before hand and been assigned a different room. I am sure Mary would have been helpful. I should have mentioned our difficulty with steps.
- Josh (10/5): Blissful - I loved everything it felt like home!🫶 Absolutely nothing except for the fact that I couldn’t stay longer
- Bill from NH (10/5): An Eclectic, Fun Stay in Happy Valley - This is such a fun, eclectic place, and the hosts could not have been more welcoming. I highly recommend the Scott Creek Farm. Nothing.
- Jes-c (10/5): -
- Susan (6/5): Lovely hostess with a deteriorating property. - The hostess was sweet and the bed was comfortable, and that’s about it. First, the driveway was not marked well, and it was hard to find. The presentation of the house was dismal. The front garden was bedraggled and dried out. I almost turned around before I opened my car door, but the hostess emerged and greeted me kindly, so we went to look at the room, which is a freestanding apartment.
This was approached by a series of cinderblock and rock paths and stairs, which were extremely uneven. Likewise, the wooden stairs climbing to the back porch were of differing heights, and the handrail was difficult to reach for the first couple of steps. In short, this place is not accommodating to anyone with any kind of mobility issues. The hostess clearly knew this, as she was hovering and offering help all the way into the apartment. The apartment was fine; clean, but very eccentrically decorated, with an apparent attempt to achieve a quaint ambience. The garden view was a deteriorating backyard with old furniture stashed in inconspicuous spots. It all seems as though what might have been pretty once has gone to seed.
Monique, the hostess, was almost intrusive in her concern that I would hurt myself returning to the apartment after dark, and when taking my belongings to and from the car. While I appreciated her help, she acted as if I were a toddling elder, rather than a 77-year-old woman who needed assistance with her suitcase.
- Jennifer (9/5): Enjoyed our stay, very nice hosts. - Very quiet at night, nice short trail to sit by creek, easy to drive into city and airport, much better than staying in a hotel. A more comfortable chair for sitting inside.
- Peggy (9/5): It was a cozy and private room with a nice deck to sit on and have breakfast and coffee. - Loved the breakfast options. Also really liked the pathways in the woods for the pup to explore. The room was cozy and secure for an individual. Nothing of note,
- Elizabeth (9/5): Lovely accommodations, secluded environment - They had everything you need, especially for those times you forget toiletries, they've got you covered!. Close to a variety of food options while still secluded and quiet. Google maps takes you the wrong way
- Orion (10/5): I loved it! - Beautiful place, very clean, and fully stocked. Beautiful property If you aren't driving the bus is a far walk,bu that's the only issue.
- Shelly (7/5): - The property was whimsical and a delight with fruit trees and a lovely scene out our bedroom door. The bed was very firm, which my husband appreciated. The host was very accommodating and friendly. The room was private and secluded which we appreciated. The location was close to a nice variety of restaurants. I would recommend a fan as the room was warm and although the windows were open there was no air flow. The bed was a bit firm for my taste.
- Simona (10/5): - Wonderful
- David (9/5): Charming, quiet, and comfortable. - Quirky decor, a large bathroom, a comfy bed, and a nearby creek made this a really wonderful place to stay. The one drawback for us was that my spouse was too hot at night and couldn't sleep. Eventually she figured out that if she opened the hallway door that connected the bedroom with the bathroom, the room cooled down. If we had stayed more than one night, it would not have been such an issue. Outside of that one thing we really enjoyed our stay.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- H (9/5): Definitely will return when in the area. - Super Quiet, Well supplied hosts were never in the way but always available. Maybe an overhead lite? Otherwise everything was there.
- Bullington (10/5): Excellent experience during an emergency. More than what we could ask for. - We had asked for privacy due to this being an emergency. They provided food for breakfasts and snacks and left us alone. The only time we saw them they just were encouraging. I would highly recommend Nothing!
- Jeanna (8/5): More than met our needs for the little time we spent in the accomodations! - Loved the location on the creek, the accessibility to our friends and family in nearby neighborhood, having a kitchenette and comfortable bed, separate entrance to accomodations. Didn't spend much time there as were visiting friends and family.
- Flori (10/5): - A charming old fashioned cottage in a forest setting!! What could be better? The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Fresh fruit and a cozy atmosphere welcomes you. In the morning you can sip your coffee near a babbling creek surrounded by the fragrance of the trees.
The cottage is well stocked for breakfast. The setting reminds me of my family’s rustic cabin in the woods of Montana. Only now you will have hot water, a large bathroom and all the amenities of a modern kitchen!!!
Lovley! I wish we could have stayed longer.
- Pam (1/5): Bad - We didn’t stay as soon as we pulled up we left the outside looked like a dump very scary unkept doesn’t look like the photo on booking .com
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Billie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Russ (8/5): Very comfortable and quiet. - The hosts were very friendly. They also had practically anything you could need if you forgot anything. Shampoo, toothpaste, cotton swabs, there was a water bowl and water if you bring a dog, there was a safety gate on the deck for small dogs and children, plenty of towels, coffee, continental breakfast. I was very pleased. Couldn't turn the TV on, but that was probably just my inability to figure out the remote.
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (10/5): - This room just made me smile! Scott Creek Farm is a hidden treasure. It’s a kitschy, eclectic European vibe nestled above a creek. Our host was adorable and the room was well appointed with cold breakfast choices, coffee and water. There is also a great selection of bathroom amenities.
- Kristi (5/5): Comfortable bed but unsanitary presentation of food/toiletries. - Greet by friendly staff (husband). Nice location. Enjoyed the nature setting with trails and creek. Bed was comfortable. Moldy fruit. Milk in refrigerator but was half gone. Would’ve been better to have individual cartons rather than an opened milk jug. I couldn’t drink it cause I was wondering if the person before me might have taken a drink from the jug. Same with the English muffins. They were opened. Don’t know how many other guests may have been touching them before I got there. Rooms did not appear to be cleaned. Dirty floor with hairs. Dirty sink, again, with hair and water marks. Looked like a man was shaving with little whiskers on the sink. Dirty mirror. Door does not lock from outside although area is secluded so I wasn’t too worried. Couldn’t figure out how to lock my room from the inside (overnight) until the last day when owner came to get my credit card information…which was a little weird, too. He needed me to write it down so he could give it to his wife who was in Los Angeles to do the billing. Anyway, I thought I had been locking my room but when I went to pull on the door it opened right up. He showed me that I needed to throw the handle up and then back down before locking. Wish he would’ve shown me that when I checked in. No one would’ve figured that out.
- Marta (1/5): Steer clear!!! - Location. Where do I begin. This was our second stay, as the location is good and located near the medical center that we utilize when in town. The first time it was adequate and we thought it was a little quirky. However, this stay was different. After Don ( who is very nice) showed us the TV instructions, and talked for a few minutes filling us in, my boyfriend went to use the toilet which was absolutely disgusting. Feces all over the the underside of the seat, on the front rim and side of the toilet, and the seat cover. It clearly hadn't been cleaned since the last guests. There was an open stick of butter in the fridge and 2 Costco muffins with a hairnet over the top of them that she must've got from the bag of them in the bathroom. The queen bed in the kitchen is horribly broke down, and there is leftover shampoos, conditioners and body washes littering the shower/tub from, I assume, previous guests. Granted, this place is stocked with everything you could ever want because these people are hoarders. The yards, walkways, paths and interior are littered with crap. It is not clean or sanitary (and potentially unsafe with broken outdoor furniture) in any way, shape or form. We ended up staying ( I wanted to leave) but my partner had a medical procedure the next morning, and he didn't want to have to go try to find new accomodations that late in the day. When I asked Mary the next day if she would compensate us for 1/2 of the $150 bill, she replied NO, even after admitting that she "only had 1 prior guest without toilet cleaning". How is that acceptable?? Admitting you didn't clean after the last guests? What else wasn't cleaned? I was totally disgusted, and want future guests to know what they're walking into.
- Keller (8/5): Very pleasant. - The sheer uniqueness of the property and the plethora of knickknacks and yard decoration. It's also in a very pretty setting and feels secluded, though it's close to commerce. Host should provide ice for their guests and a night light in the bathroom would be convenient.
- Amy (8/5): - Warmly greeted upon arrival. Room was well-stocked with variety of breakfast options & tons of toiletries in case we’d forgotten anything. Very quiet & close to shopping.
- Viacheslav (9/5): Superb -
- Roach (5/5): Passable -
- Darlene (10/5): Exceptional - It was very whimsical and the Personal Touch of walking us through the whole unit upstairs and downstairs was refreshing. They thought of everything. Extra toiletries, coffee tea bagels, anything you would need is there. And the outside is amazing and backs up to a forest. I just wish we could have stayed longer.
- Kay (10/5): - This place was a bit like a mid European zimmer. It was a bit kitschy, like being in the Black Forest with a creek path with plenty of gnomes, etc. Our room was very comfortable with a small deck. The breakfast included pastry, bagels, English muffins, cereal and fruit. It was a fun experience and our host were kind and hospitable.
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Thanh (8/5): - we are happy with our stay at the property, host was very helpful. Only thing was that the mattresses were lumpy.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brenda (10/5): A clean and comfortable bungalow with breakfast provided. - Mary and Don’s pride in their BnB is reflected in its cleanliness and their personal efforts to ensure the needs of their guests are met. The location was perfect for us and the wooded back of the property was tranquil. Mary met our arrival and gave us a tour of the family bungalow, an artists or collectors dream. The bungalow appears to be an addition to the detached garage as you open the front door into the spotless bathroom which is well stocked with a variety of personal hygiene needs. The bath and bed linens were of very high quality and the upstairs, main bed and downstairs futon were very comfortable. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator and stove, is stocked with the expected cooking/eating utensils, their chicken’s fresh eggs, and other items most guests would expect of a continental breakfast. The air conditioning was excellent and the additional fans were appreciated. The stair case that leads up to the large screen television and 2-queen beds (there are also 3-steps to a landing that leads to the stair case) are steep and although there is a handrail and the step rise is of a comfortable height, the thread is narrow for our size 10-shoes. The water pressure in the shower isn’t the strongest, but, is adequate.
- David (10/5): - I loved the place
- Jonathan (10/5): Wonderful - Felt at home Didn’t get to spend enough time !
- Donald (9/5): We would return as well as recommend to friends. - Didn't eat breakfast.
Loved the personal attention we received upon arrival.
Loved how uniquely decorated the room and property were. We would have given the highest ratings across the board except for the fact that the room smelled of moth balls. Certainly tolerable but not exactly what we wanted.
- Barbara (10/5): Great value, proprietors kind, helpful yet respectful of privacy of - So whimsical and fun! Unlike any place we have ever stayed. Nothing, really.
- Rae Lynne (10/5): Beautiful - This place was beautiful! It was quiet. There was a nature trail and a stream that brought the sounds of nature to any time spent outside. Up the street was the head to a true nature walk, with trees, ferns, wild raspberries, and a playground.
- Deborah (5/5): Passable - It's an addition onto their house. Your eyes will be attacked by all the clutter inside and out. Not one space left on the bathroom counter due to all the junk. There is no kitchen. Slate/tiles all over the yard were loose and we almost tripped.
- Marta (7/5): Good -
- Heidi (7/5): I was kindly welcomed by a couple who reminded me of the room was very comfortable and well equipped. The property was l - Beautiful property. Fanciful decor. Parking wasn’t the best. Property is a bit cluttered
- Wendy (10/5): Relaxing stay in a serene setting - Great vibe! Calm and beautiful surroundings. Owners kind and welcome. Room was clean and comfortable. Had everything you would need and more! We had no complaints!
- Valeri (10/5): Excellent - The grounds are whimsical, the room was absolutely lovely, the bathroom is extremely well stocked with shampoo, body lotion, face wash, etc. all you need when you come stay there is just your clothes. There’s even a creek outback.
- Beck (9/5): Very Comfortable and quiet. Great service and very friendly hosts. - Breakfast was great. Location was out of the way, but very quiet.
- Taylor (10/5): - Absolutely loved this place!
- Julius (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julianna (7/5): Good -
- Teresa (10/5): - Was a wonderful stay, owner's of property were so nice and made us feel like we belonged. Rooms were amazing. First time at a B&B. Didn't know what to expect. Was so happy we stayed 1 night. But it will be one trip we will never forget.
- Jon (10/5): - Monique was a dear. The property has such a homey feel to it and the owners make you feel very welcome.
- Bernadette (10/5): Beyond expectations - This B&B was an absolute delight. From the welcome to the exit, everything was beyond expectations. Having a forest/creek experience, right outside your door, provided a calming stroll and grounding.
- Jessica (9/5): Excellent spot would highly recommend. - I really enjoyed all the decor of the space and the convenient little extras that they offer. It feels less like you’re staying at an AirBNB and more like you’re staying with relatives, welcoming and warm relatives.
- Christina (9/5): Superb - Scott Creek Farm provided a multitude of cold breakfast options, as well as fresh food for us to prepare our own. The unit has a kitchen which we used to cook eggs and toast for breakfast. The location is in the heart of areas that were of interest to us, including the Mt. Talbot nature area and local shopping. The setting is a fairy wonderland with woods and a small creek running through it with deer and other wildlife.
- Claudia (10/5): Rustic charm - It was so nice to stay at Scott’s Creek Farm, a rustic and charming place. Our hosts were kind and friendly, and our room offered all that we needed - privacy, quiet. Of special importance to us was that they allowed us to bring our cat, Rosie, who travels with us.
- Anna (7/5): Comfortable unit - Quiet spot in nice area, not walking distance to anything but we had the car so not a problem. Peaceful yard you can relax in, didn't see the owners after checking in. Felt pretty private. Beds were comfortable and owners were nice. There is maybe too many things in the unit, in general. While it was convenient to have everything and anything you could possibly need, it felt a bit cluttered in there.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Hosts were very nice. Property was hard to navigate at night. I got chewed up by mosquitoes in the yard. Maybe it’s just the time of year, but it was really bad. Couldn’t stand outside for a couple minutes without getting eaten alive. Still, the room was nice, and I enjoyed my stay. Not a B&B though. Breakfast was more of a continental breakfast rather than an actual breakfast.
- Harriet (10/5): - A very quaint location, giant collections of misc yard art.. both in the yard and on the walls.. very clean inside, very friendly owner. Lots of breakfast items supplied. Wooded area with trails. I'd love to stay again. If your looking for a fun and unusual stay this is for you
- Autumn (10/5): - It was very inviting and warm feeling, made me feel like I was staying at my family’s home. The owners were very inviting and helpful. I originally reserved the place for one adult and two children. I ended up having an extra adult which they did not charge me for the extra person. Had a wonderful experience and we would stay there again if needed. Great experiences and enjoyed the creek and wooded experience in the back yard which had plenty of space for our dog that we brought along.
- Joanna (10/5): - I love it
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the place!! Nothing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Country comfort - Very personable hosts
Loved the outdoor setting
- Barthes (10/5): Warm hospitality and unique setting. Can only recommend it to others. - The continental breakfast met our needs in particular the fruits, pastries and freshly ground coffee. nothing
- Taylor (10/5): Absolutely incredible - Beautiful inside and out. They provided everything you could possibly think of and more, their hospitality makes you feel like you’re staying with your own family. They even upgraded our stay free of charge because they had a cancellation! I would recommend to absolutely anyone looking for a place to stay in the area, beyond wonderful experience.
- Goldor (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable and interesting! A bit cluttered
- 2bsweet (9/5): Superb -
- Crandall (6/5): Cute property and accommodations, pleasant owner, not-so-pleasant nighttime visitor bugs - The property was super cute and we loved all of the eclectic decorations. The owner was super nice and communicative. The owners really think about their customers by having spare items (like new toothbrushes, etc.,) on hand in case someone forgot something and also providing some breakfast items in the fridge. The creek was easily accessible and a nice, serene feature. Our original plan was for our three adult kids to stay in the downstairs room with our girls on the queen bed and our son in a sleeping bag on the floor, but we changed our minds and gave them the upstairs and my husband and I stayed downstairs. I am so glad that we did that. When we were playing a game downstairs before bed, we saw a few stray black bugs on the floor. Kind of looked like a mix of an ant and a beetle to me. The owner had warned us to make sure to keep any food trash off the ground because there might be ants. We hung our pretty light trash bag on the fridge, so it was nowhere near the floor. When the kids went upstairs, my husband and I stayed up for awhile reading and planning the next part of our trip. After about an hour, I got up to use the restroom and the floor was covered with probably one to two hundred of these bugs. It was after midnight, so I did not wake the owners to alert them. If it had been earlier, I would have. We've had family properties in wooded areas, so we understand that nature sometimes can come indoors, but this was quite over the top. It was hard to sleep that night as I kept worrying that the bugs would climb on the bed. Thankfully, they didn't. In the morning, there were only a couple stray ones again, so they must be nocturnal bugs. I'm so glad that our son was not sleeping on the floor downstairs, though. That would have been horrifying. Had it just been my husband and I on the trip and we had stayed upstairs, we would not have even known about the issue and would have given a much higher rating.
- John (9/5): Fun and quirky place to stay. Would go back for sure. -
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Patrick (10/5): - Very well maintained property. Nice to be able to sit a a table outside your room that is secluded and beautiful
- Joe (10/5): Farm fresh fun! - Such a cool, unexpected gem in a fantastic location! You feel like you’ve been transported to another time and place. Our family absolutely loved it!
- Dawn (9/5): Superb -
- Cristina (10/5): - The property is unique & loaded with lots of knick knacks, interesting art work, carved lamps, AND it’s clean as a whistle and blissfully quiet. A very nice place to work quietly on a project.
- kathy A (10/5): - The hostess is gracious, the cabin is comfortable, clean, and cute, and the grounds are perfectly whimsical. I definitely recommend!
- Jana (9/5): Would recommend this place to any friends headed out to that location! - The breakfast items were good. My husband enjoyed the poppyseed muffin. I enjoyed having the oatmeal. Had the bottled water. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice; loved all the different items! The only issue was the fresh raspberries were moldy in the morning, and the crescent roll had a mold spot. No other issues!
- Leonard (9/5): Superb -
- James (9/5): We’ll be back - it had everything for a long stay (7 days)
- karen (10/5): - Property owners very nice . The room was great
- John (10/5): A very cozy, peaceful place to stay. -
- James (10/5): Hidden Gem - This hidden gem is incredibly awesome! Comfortable and cozy, in the forest just as you dream of Oregon is like.
- Laura (10/5): Cute, quirky, peaceful place in the city hidden within nature - Perfect quirky place surrounded by nature in a great location close to everting. The breakfast items offered were a nice surprise. Will return! NA
- Lori (10/5): Very comfortable home away from home - The owners are fantastic and really friendly. It was so nice not to stay in a corporate hotel we were in town for a family emergency and this felt like being in a home. I was very grateful for this.
- Jerry (8/5): Very good -
- Dinaya (10/5): Absolutely delightful. So perfect. So cozy. - I lived in Portland, specifically happy valley before moving. I went back for a concert & saw the reviews for Scott Creek Farm. It looked quirky but given the reviews, I thought to give it a try & im so glad I did!! My sister and I were so impressed with the hospitality, the thoughtfulness, amenities and the incredible outback creek with lush green background. A bench perfect to sit at & have a cup of coffee. The place is cute, clean, quaint. It is PERFECT!! & location? SAFE, quiet and in good proximity to just about anything. It is a MUST STAY!! Anytime I’m back, I will be staying here. Thank you Don & Mary. What a gem you have here. It was perfect. Nothing to dislike. Everything u could need & even the things u didn’t know u may need.
- Kathryn (10/5): Wonderful vacation spot, with even better service and location. - The breakfast provided was perfect, as were the hosts. The location was outstanding and the cute place we stayed in was FABULOUS.
- Nora (9/5): Superb - We had a refrigerator full of wonderful food choices for breakfast. The owners were very kind and hospitable. Only thing we found a little interesting was that the front door opened onto the bathroom. There were doors that closed it off to the main living area and the upstairs.
- Lewis (9/5): We enjoyed the quirkiness of Scott Farm. We will definitely be back. -
- Michelle (10/5): Wonderful alternative stay for business! - This was a business trip and I chose this place instead of a hotel. I am so happy I did this. The weather did not present itself for walks along all the trails, but the area is amazing. The hosts were very accommodating and so welcoming! This place is fantastic and will stay over whenever I am in the area for business again. Thanks for sharing your place with me, I so loved my stay.
