Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): Nice place without the in town price and noise - Stayed outside of town and enjoyed being “in the Black Forrest” rather than just in the tourist trap town. That part we went to visit. The owner was helpful and spoke English well.
- Cairenn (8/5): Good stay - My family arrived at the hotel in the late evening during a 2 week road trip through Europe. It was a little hard to find the hotel because there was very little signage, but we found it and there was easy parking nearby.
There was no reception desk, but a restaurant on the ground floor where we were given our keys. The room was very nice with some cute Black Forest details. The bathroom was small with only a shower but everything was very clean and tidy.
The biggest problem we encountered was that there was a house or school which was playing loud music all hours of the night. This was a Saturday night. When I finally fell asleep at 1:30am the music was still playing loudly and having the window closed was not helpful. This is in no way the fault of the owner or management but it was not very restful because of the noise.
In the morning we had breakfast and conversed with the owner who was very nice. Checkout was easy but I was upset because although the hotel was listed as having free breakfast on hotels.com, the owner said breakfast was not included & I was charged for it. Thankfully I was compensated by hotels.com’s excellent customer service so it was not a problem!
- Emma (10/5): - I was very pleased with our stay. Even though it is a 2 star hotel it was clean and welcoming. The room was clean and provided a tv and small fridge as well as the usual bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and table and chairs. It came with an ensuite. The hotel was traditional with lots of wood.
The breakfast was continental and provided a good selection of food.
The hotel was located 5 mins outside of Triberg. The views were breathtaking and beautiful of the woods.
- Cheryl (8/5): Quaite basic in a short drive out of Triberg - Lovely basic inn about 10 minute drive out of Triberg so you do need a car . Quant rooms and the owner is adorable. Very very friendly and makes you overlook that it isn’t a 4 star hotel . Breakfast was a bit more basic than some we have had here in Germany and there was an issue with the hot water not working while we were there but hey it was all part of the adventure. Would definitely recommend as long as you aren’t looking for fancy, we prefer clean and friendly which this definitely is.
- eugenio (6/5): Un'esperienza diversa dal solito - Titolare surreale. Arriviamo e troviamo chiuso. Dopo qualche minuto troviamo un campanello. Ci apre una signora e ci chiede di vedere la prenotazione sullo smartphone. Vuole vedere a che prezzo l'abbia mo ottenuta. Solo allora ci accompagna in camera e l'allestisce in quel momento. Il ristorante non funziona. Siamo gli unici clienti presenti nella struttura. La colazione è buona. L addetto è molto cortese. Cappuccino da evitare.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great small hotel option - Smaller/more intimate hotel on the outskirts of Triberg, but just a few minutes drive to the downtown area. The owner was extremely friendly and the hotel itself was was comfortable/clean. No AC fyi, but not a big deal in the Black Forest. WiFi was very solid and so was breakfast. Recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Service freindly! Nice hotel. Good breakfast.
- Didi (10/5): super Hotel im alten still - Ein super Hotel was für die Erholung mitten im Wald.Sehr freundlichen Personal was alles möglich macht das der Gast sich wohlfühlt.
- Verified traveler (6/5): War vielleicht mal schoen...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There was water damage to building after severe weather hence resturant was closed but host was kind enough to serve us breakfast in our rooms.
Recommend to all who want to stay in typical black forest feel hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and staff were wonderful and very attentive. Somewhat of the main road but an awesome place to stay within 10 minutes of Triberg. Would definitely stay there again!
- Philip (2/5): Badminton service and poor breakfast - The hotels made lot of confusion on payment. They asked more money than what was agreed by hotels.com. service was pathetic and the breakfast was pathetic. There wasn't any room to have breakfast
- Joseph (10/5): Truly a wonderful find! - We loved this Hotel/Resort almost as much as we enjoyed the owner. She is a wonderfully energetic and blissfully happy lady who loves what she is doing!
- Dave (6/5): Traditional Hotel - No evening meal - Traditional and pleasant hotel. During my stay an evening meal was not offered. Due to this we had to travel back to Triberg in a rain storm and find a place to eat. Breakfast was very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel south of Munich - The hotel was really nice much better than expected. Staff were efficent and friendly, breakfast was very good a nice suprise was scrambled eggs with bacon. Munich was only 10 min away, the hotel was easy to get to and find.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Did not know what we were in for - The entire hotel seems to be run by 2 women. They only had us down for 1 night instead of 2 but that could have been a Hotels.com issue so can't fault the hotel too much. The room was a good size with a door separating the entry way and bathroom from the main room. There was 1 light in the entire room and it was not bright. The room still had the rollaway bed from the people before. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned and the owner did that while we waited in the hall, even though we were several hours past check in time. There were no towels in the room. We asked for the wifi password and the wifi worked well. She told us that breakfast would be brought to our room in the morning because she had to go to another job. Hmmm. We asked about where to get dinner and she asked what we would eat ( beef, pork). She made us a ( quite tasty) meal but the experience was very odd. This was not the experience we were looking for when the hotel advertised a restaurant and free breakfast. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with no other food options. While eating another couple checked in and asked about the sauna. She told them it would be 18 euro to use for 2 hours. The bed was semi comfortable but the pillows were essentially non existent. We used the blanket as a pillow...which we could do since there was no a/c. Church bells across the street went off every 15 minutes. Some might like this type of experience but it is not one we care to repeat.
- Ryan (10/5): Great family vacation experience. - Awesome hotel with great ownership. We arrived somewhat late with 2 younger children and a little hard to find the place at night in the mountains. After arrival, we were very thankful for the comfortable room and great hospitality. Loved the location. Close to all black forest attractions and house of 1000 clocks. Very great for family vacation. Great mountain feel. Thank you. Would definitely recommend to others. We will be going back this summer.
- Carolyn (8/5): Clean, Quiet, quaint. Very nice. - We only spent one night here but felt so appreciated and was so warmly greeted and cared for. Loved the location and just the old, quaint blackforest feel of this hotel.
- Esmeralda (10/5): great Lil gem! - Loved that we were able to eat when everything else was closed made it seem very warm and family oriented.
