Guest Reviews
- Zoe (8/5): Beautiful room, very peaceful area and comfortable bed, loved the breakfast! -
- Aneeqa (10/5): -
- Barend (9/5): Somerset Wine Farm Breakaway. - Very spacious, neat, clean, and beautiful decorated room. Exceptional breakfast every morning.
Anne-Marie and her staff were very, very friendly and assisted with everything from our arrival to our departure 5 days later. Loud noise and music from parties next to the Villa.
- Rona (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Beautiful room, very comfortable bed and good Aircon. Staff friendly, great for night before going to the airport as it was only 20 minutes away. Some areas of the room were very dusty
- Sibulele (2/5): - There rats in the room
- Anne Laure (10/5): - Tout

- Alexandra (8/5): Would recommend it for a short stay! - We spent only 1 night and was lovely. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The pool is very nice. Breakfast was good. Overall the property just needs a bit of maintenance.
- David (8/5): -
- Simon Stewart BW (7/5): we enjoyed the lodge and the staff were very accomodating - Breakfast was great - Anna Marie was a real gem, very helful and full of energy A lack of a liquor license would have been nice; a cold beer on our arrival would have been nice.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Nol (9/5): Waan je in “ out of Africa “ - Het is een prachtig landhuis geheel in Afrikaanse style. De kamer was groot (s) met openslaande deuren naar het balkon. Grote badkamer , airco , fijne bedden. Mooi zwembad, leuke bar etc en alles in style of je in “ out of Africa” bent. Goede ontvangst en aardige manager. Eigenlijk niets.
- Thobela (3/5): Didn't like the place at all - Please fix your shower heads !!
- Leszek (10/5): A perfect place to stay a couple of days or a night before a flight to Europe. - Hotel/property with a large number of spacious rooms and very friendly staff. Additionally, there is a swimming pool and a bar, as well as an ocean view. A very good place to spend a few days or, as in our case, for a night before a flight to Europe. The isolated location means that there are practically no decent restaurants or shops nearby, and you need to drive everywhere. From our balconies, we could hear the muffled sounds of the highway located not far from the property.
- Rory (7/5): I was there very briefly but place looks great, would consider a return trip for sure - Just couldn't connect to the wifi despite the staff trying to assist. But not a major issue as the area had decent signal and was able to make calls.
- Monique (9/5): - The host was so friendly and accomdating. She made us feel so comfait ddnt mine getting wet to help my sister. She will go the extranmile just to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Its quiet and clean. All staff were very helpful. Breakfast was awesome

- Siyabonga (8/5): -
- Warren (10/5): - Honestly great stay. We were only supposed to stop off but felt so comfortable we extended.
If you want a hotel with a vibe this is the place. Music, active pool. Great fun.
- Hassen (10/5): Excellent. - I absolutely loved everything about the property. Everything is perfect.
- erik (8/5): - Lekker hotel, prachtig gebouw, goed ontbijt.
- A (7/5): Prima veilig verbijf!
- Sophie (9/5): - Maison coloniale magnifique.
Personnel charmant.
- Tania (5/5): Good location in need of tlc - Beautiful location. Amazing rich history around property. Small maintenance issues to be attended to will make a huge difference
Smart tv's is a MUST

- Dina (9/5): Great stay and staff. - This charming thatched-roof property is undeniably beautiful, but can do with some restorations. Whoever built this beauty clearly had a deep love for the place and an eye for luxury. Each room is uniquely designed, featuring custom-made details like handcrafted handles and artistic bathroom sinks.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, adorned with custom-embroidered linens and buffalo head cupboard handles. The large bathroom boasted a towel warmer, elegant travertine tiles, a chandelier, and a striking painting of a Vervet monkey and its baby in the sink.
We also had a private balcony overlooking the pool and garden—a perfect spot to relax. Our host, Leila, was incredible. She went above and beyond, even preparing us a full breakfast outside of regular hours so we could catch our early 6:00 AM flight. The property is currently managed by a corporation and is in need of some basic maintenance and upkeep. It seems to be maintained by only a skeleton staff, which is evident in both the property and the garden. Unfortunately, the surrounding vineyards appear neglected and unwatered—a disappointing sight, given that they are such a key part of the estate’s charm and allure.
This property is like a once-glamorous lady who just needs a little lipstick and a fresh wardrobe to shine again.
- Thato (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (8/5): Very good -
- Erasmus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Van (9/5): Superb -
- Mziyanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annelize (10/5): Good - Near enough to airport. Only slept there. Everything was good
- Michael (10/5): Great facilities, big rooms and lovely swimmig pool and terrace, very pleasant and helpful staff. - Our booking was made at 13.30 and the Manager did not get informed by Booking.com until after we arrived at 17.00 The beds had to be made and 4 rooms cleaned, which they did very quickly. The pool was great and we spent the afternoon and evening by the pool on the terrace. The >Manager gave us lots of ice for our own drinks. Breakfast was EXCELLENT. The rooms were very big and very comfortable VERY IMPORTANT On arrival there must be new signage WELCOMING TO RIDGEMOR VILLA - so you know this is the correct place.
- Mzi (10/5): Peaceful tranquility - It’s a very quiet and good location if you want a nice peaceful stay. None at all.
- Micayla (10/5): They can do better - Everything was just good and nice The fact that there is a television but it doesnt work
- Mzi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steenkamp (9/5): Superb - Waarde vir geld. Ek sal verseker weer by julle kom slaap.
- Jessie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sibusiso (8/5): Very good -
- Justin (9/5): Very happy with the stay - Did not have breakfast
Location is perfect as close to Highway
You should offer Kelderhof residents preferred rates for their guests. I will use you on a regular basis n/a
- John (7/5): Good -
- Sebastian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (6/5): Not what we were expecting from 4 star accommodation but the staff made up for it. - The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The lady who manages the places is lovely and very accommodating - she tries her absolute best. The Villa is advertised as 4 star accommodation which I feel is misleading. The property needs some attention and TLC.
- Aneeqah (5/5): Passable - The host at the property was awesome, her breakfast was great Aircon in bedroom was not working.
Pool needs serious maintenance
Thatched roof also needs serious maintenance, in actual fact the entire place needs maintenance as the gate gives problems, carpets needs steam cleaning, shutters on doors and windows falling apart. If you zoom in on pool picture attached you will see how dirty it is by pool stools and the pool flooring needs maintenance
- Jantjies (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): very professional and accomodating - Anne-Marie was the best, thank you
- Johanvnk (1/5): This place must be removed from Booking.com. - NOTHING ! We had to cancel our stay right away. The cleanliness of the place, from the entrance to our room, was unsatisfactory. We seemed to be the only guests there. There was a dead cockroach by the entrance, the carpets were dirty, and our bed had visible bugs, including a spider. Photos and videos available.
- Rory (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (9/5): we will be back -
