• Christine (10/5): Friendly country inn - We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. Our large room had a comfy 4 poster bed, table, chairs in the bay window. Bathroom had large fluffy towels, lots of hot water. The views from both windows overlooked the well manicured grounds with benches, fabulous flowers in baskets and trees Breakfast was tasty with vegetarian options. The Eggs royale was excellent. Inn was clean, tastefully decorated with friendly efficient staff.

• Kuldip (8/5): Comfy - The staff were very friendly and polite. The hotel room was nice with 2 options for pillows. The bed was comfortable and there was a kettle to make hot drinks. Downside was the room was freezing with the air conditioning on, I couldn’t find a thermostat to switch it off and I was very cold overnight. The shower hose leaked at the shower connected snd on the side, spraying water everywhere. The shower fittings were loose and need replacing.

• Vandana (10/5): - I had come to attend a wedding at the Sandon Hall. The Dog and Doublet is conveniently located, and I’ve had an excellent stay here.
• Simon (10/5): Great stop over on a romantic road trip. - Lovely bed and breakfast and restaurant in a renovated arts and crafts public house. Dinner high quality and had many gluten free and vegan friendly options. Breakfast was included and tasty. All rooms are up a flight of stairs with no elevator, owing to the historic nature of the building. Great value for the price.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean and tidy. However weather was unseasonably cold and there was no heating on in the room. This made for an unpleasant showering experience. When I went down to eat I explained to the staff who were very apologetic and had the heating switched on in my room. The room took a long time to get up to reasonable temperature which made for an uncomfortable evening.

• Peter (10/5): Weekend Break - We are returning customers and found the place to be as welcoming as before. The staff are always friendly and polite, our room was a little cold but we were offered a boost on the heating if necessary. There were a few issues in the shower room but these were reported on the system immediately. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. When it was noted that we were waiting quite a while for our food we were given an apology and offered more drinks. Not once did we have to ask about anything. Would highly recommended and will definitely be staying there again.
• Molly (10/5): The perfect stay - Myself and my partner have been really looking forwards to a night away and were not disappointed at all. The staff were so friendly throughout our stay, the room was beautiful and so comfy and the breakfast the next morning was perfect. We will definitely be coming back and we are very grateful to the staff for such a wonderful experience.
• Daniella (6/5): - The food was reasonable, the staff were friendly and helpful, however my single bed was more like an infant bed. Very small. My feet dangled off the end of the bed. The man in the room next to me left his TV on all night which I could hear through the walls.
• Norina (8/5): Lovely pub but needs some TLC - Lovely pub with lovely bar/restaurant. Food menu was fairly broad and well cooked. Service overall was excellent. Had room 8 which seemed to have the water tank over it, so was noisy in the evenings, but quiet at night. The exterior needs some TLC, in particular the windows. I assume the building is listed as the metal windows are so over painted that they don't shut and the only saving grace is the secondary glazing panels. There is also a loose drain panel on the road outside that the traffic (on a busy road) goes over and clanks. Fine if the window panel is shut but otherwise very noisy.

• Susan (10/5): Great welcome - Lovely pub with nice rooms. Plenty of parking for car. Breakfast good , cooked to order. A glass of juice would be a nice addition. Ate there one evening with a good meal on steak night. Staff all helpful and pleasant.

• Mark (10/5): Dog And Doublett Inn - Stafford - The staff were all amazing and friendly down to the chef !! Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself was clean and tidy and the food was amazing!! At breakfast coffee was always topped up without fail too. Will definitely book again.

• Steven (10/5): Perfect one night stopover - Lovely coaching in a pub. Really welcoming and engaging staff. Log burning fires making it lovely and warm. Watch the football on a great TV and room was comfortable and warm. Also had an electric charging point. So a really perfect day overall. Food excellent.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Two night mid-week stay - The staff at the Inn gave us a friendly welcome and the room we were allocated had a comfortable bed, clean, modern well-maintained en-suite bathroom, plenty of hanging and drawer space and tea and coffee-making facilities. On the first day we had a very nice lunch and coffee and cake later. On the second day we had a very nice dinner. Breakfast on both days had plenty of choice and everything was prepared to order and delivered to the table. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Our room was of a reasonable size with all usual facilities to an acceptable standard. Comfortable bed, tea & coffee making facilities available. Bar well stocked & reasonably priced. Breakfast included in price was varied & excellent. Food available in evening was also of an excellent quality. Friendly & helpful staff. Free on site parking.

Rooms are very clean, bathrooms very clean... will visit again but ask not to be in room 4

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Great food, ambience and service. Mattress slightly hard but we still slept well. It was buzzing as we arrived. Obviously a very popular local venue for lunch.

It was tiny with just enough room for a double bed. Mattress and pillows both very hard and this coupled with being right on a busy road made sleeping near on impossible.

• Amanda (10/5): - The Dog and Doublet Inn was an absolute delight from the moment we parked up in the spacious car park. The COVID measures were very good and all the staff wore face masks at all times. The pub is absolutely beautiful and the staff are a real credit to you. Becky in particular was really lovely and looked after us during our evening meal. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced too. Breakfast was absolutely delicious - the full English was massive! We would definitely stay again if we're ever in the area.

• Julie (6/5): Lovely place but new mattresses required ! - Lovely pub and rooms the mattress was terrible - seems low quality and springs coming through. I advised the team in the morning and they were very nice about it but I could hardly walk. Real shame
