hms_hms_87 (2/5): Not Recommended, Not Worth the Stay - There were several issues that, if I had known about them before booking, I would not have chosen this hotel: - Room service is available only during limited hours (about from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM). This information was not clearly stated during the booking process or explained at check-in desk. - The refrigerator in the suite did not work, which caused all of our food to spoil, including food for our children. When we reported this, we were informed that the suite does not have a proper refrigerator, only a unit that maintains room temperature and does not cool food. However, the booking details stated that the suite includes a refrigerator. The hotel did not resolve the issue, change the room, or offer to cancel the remaining nights, despite our stay being nearly two weeks. The management’s response and communication were very poor. - The carpet in the suite was very dirty and worn. - The hotel was disorganised and the overall cleanliness was below an acceptable standard. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its location.

I booked it to celebrate my wife’s birthday, hoping for a memorable experience. While the stay was generally pleasant, it fell short in a few areas. ✅ Pros: • Comfortable Room: The room was clean and comfortable, offering a relaxing environment. • Friendly Staff: The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. A special shoutout to the Bangladeshi gentleman at the pool – very polite and welcoming. • Decent Pool Area: The pool was enjoyable, and facilities like the steam room and sauna were available (though advance booking was needed). • Tasty Breakfast: Although limited in variety, the breakfast items were flavorful and satisfying. ❌ Cons: • Missing Basic Amenities: The room lacked essential items like a proper set of towels (no hand or face towels), a dental kit, and an iron. • Uncomfortable Pillows: The pillows weren’t as good as those we experienced at Novotel Makkah Thakher. • No Special Touch: Despite it being our second visit and a birthday celebration, there was no special gesture such as complimentary sweets or a welcome note – something we’ve appreciated at other Accor properties. Perhaps this was due to peak season. • Limited Steam/Sauna Access: We were told to return at 1 PM to use the steam and sauna, which disrupted our schedule slightly. We were travelling with a baby and they were very understanding. Breakfast is a little high at 85 SAR pp, however many restaurant options within 10 minute walk of hotel. A very decent hotel. They should have maybe 1 hour allotted to ladies only.

However, there were negative issues such as the clearly visible old stains on the carpet and leak from the shower tray. The television channels kept cutting off spoiling the continuity of viewing. Contacting or leaving a message to the guest proved a futile and lengthy exercise requiring the use of a code when they determined wrongly that the guest was not answering. There was ample parking but the back of the hotel area is rundown. The hotel is in need of a complete refurbishment.

It has sofa cum bed in the room and as I was travelling with kids it suited me. The breakfast can be bettered in quality and the spread too. Housekeeping staff were really helpful and nice. Most helpful and understanding was Ms Rawan at the reception/ front desk.

Don’t think is stay there again …. - Hotel is on a busy road and if you miss the entrance as you’re driving toward it then you have to go all the way around and start again… check in was slow, rooms were ok breakfast was mediocre. Had to ask for things from reception a few times. I think the hotel needs to up its game. The cafe in the hotel wasn’t great and expensive had cakes there which seemed like they were there from previous days as they were hard and pretty much not edible. Breakfast needs to be better though and check in needs to have more staff so it’s fine quicker.
Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel mentions a shuttle and airport transfers as a service but when I enquired days before I never received a response. Once I booked in they gave several stories regarding having stopped the shuttle. One of the staff approached me afterwards asking if I need a taxi to the airport as he can get someone. False advertising to get you to pay extra to use their connections for transport. You pay a lot to stay at this hotel and then they try con you to use transport that they arrange to make a buck out of you. Not worth it, it’s on a busy main road, rather get a hotel that has amnesties around within walking distance and has a real shuttle service.

Stay11872441876 (2/5): Dishonest Management - Ruined Family Holiday - Lied About Refund - We had 2 rooms booked from 24th-29th December 2024. However due to the condition of Room 1 (dirty carpets, inefficient AC, leaking sink) , we needed to cancel our 2nd room as we could not risk hygiene with our kids. The hotel management agreed to refund our 2nd room so we can upgrade to a Suite at an extra cost. They gave us their word that the 2nd room will be refunded. Everything was confirmed and agreed upon. However, once we arrived back to UK, the hotel have now denied any agreement or refund and upon questioning this, they have stopped responding to any communication and correspondance to both us and the travel agent. The most disappointing thing is that the reservation manager Muhammad Mushtaq had agreed and reassured us all along whilst we were there. If we had known we had been lied to, we would not have paid the extra to upgrade our initial room to a Suite. Despite this, the receptionists Rawan and Rakan were very kind and helpful and only able to help us through the direction of management. The cleaner Abdelkarim was also very hardworking. They tried their best in every case to faciliate for us and help but its a shame that their manager lied to all parties for a small sum of money. The hotel is let down by their dishonest management, poor communication and lying. We are now having to raise a dispute with our credit card merchant as well as travel agent to escalate this. We would never have chosen this hotel if we knew we would have been treated with such dishonesty.

Haashiem (8/5): Formula 1 weekend trip - The hotel is neat and convenient location we had some minor issues which were resolved within a fair amount of time, some staff are very helpful, especially MALAK The food was not that good, neither the coffee, better to go out on the streets.

Temitope (8/5): - This property has seen better days but there is still a lot of potential by simply paying attention to some cleaning. There was a large stain on the curtain in my room which I think really could be easily rectified. Everything else was clean and well presented. All staff were nice (Malek, Heba, Abdulaziz, Saddam and Hala). Restuarant staff were very nice. Some non-compliant guests were smoking in their bedroom but fortunately, it stayed out of my room.
Rafik (10/5): - The pool helped entertain the kids. The breakfast was an amazing spread and visually pleasing. I recommend getting the half board or full board option upon making a reservation as the restaurant prices are somewhat expensive. The small ramp at the front of the hotel is horribly designed. Upon arrival or whenever we got a taxi, the vehicle had a hard time getting in because the ramp is steep. The best parts of this hotel are the pool, breakfast, and food options.
Wai Hing (10/5): - Hotel staff really friendly and helpful. Excellent location easy access to tourist place via Uber.
Rahif (6/5): Disappointed - Television was not working. Lack of service employees. Understaffed.
Abdulrahman (6/5): - Spacious clean room. No hot water in the shower. Slow response.
Faraz (2/5): - Made me upgrade to get a room once I got there and and then gave me a dirty room, ordered and paid for an americano and croissant then the barista closed and left in the afternoon around 1pm
KANG LENG (8/5): Nice location, room is clean and comfort! - The hotel location is the heart of busy street of Tahlia. Room is spacious, clean and comfort. Only problem is chargeable for early check in, and check out process take more than 20mins waiting. In addition, front car pick up/drop off is not convenient as the entry was built too high from the road, many car cannot enter?
Verified traveler (6/5): - Overall OK, some points not very ideal considering. Gave us the non smoking room, when we walked in there was a stench of smoke that hit us like nothing else. Clearly not following the protocol. I also have asthma so not very ideal. WiFi didn’t work for the first two days. Bathroom drain blocked; when showering, the drain next to the toilet would somehow fill up and soak the entire bathroom. This was fixed once they were informed but no previous checks was obviously done.
