Susan (3/5): Not worth the price in anyway. - Location good and bad. Close to everything but that includes bars that have live music unit late in the night. The ear plugs on the nightstand should have been a big clue If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, this is not your hotel. Amenities were motel 6 quality.

The stairs it’s the only way to get up to the second floor. There isn’t an elevator and the stairs are very steep. No handicap anything at this hotel.

kari (4/5): We will never stay at this hotel again. - It was clean The staff member was unpleasant and unprofessional. We communicated our dinner reservation and was told we could come early and would get a call when our room was ready. No call and had to rush to get ready for our special evening. The room is extremely small and there is no privacy. You can here through the walls and door. The parking is not easy and takes time, if you're looking for something relaxing this is not he hotel for you. It's noisy and very busy outside. They leave era plugs by the bed. This was not divulged when the room was booked.

We were welcomed by Mark who gave us great advice regarding making the most of our short stay. Breakfast was very basic and we would have preferred proper mugs/cups rather than disposable ones.

Christina (9/5): Very clean, cozy, cute boutique hotel. Friendly staff, helpful as to what to see in the area. - Great location right on the main street where there were plenty of food options. A bit noisy late at night due to the restaurant across the street playing music a bit loud and then the garbage trucks coming early in the morning to pick up the trash bins. The price could have been a bit better due to the noise factor other than that it was a cozy place. Too bad it wasn't located up the street away from the noise.

The first guy gave me a parking pass but didn’t explain clearly where to park. The second guy was better but it was so busy I had to pay for parking. The room was too bright in the morning and it was very loud with the garbage truck in the morning.

Jeffrey (4/5): - Poor WiFi We were in the Grand Bahama and the bed was terrible - needs to be replaced- way too soft and it collapsed in the middle. Great stay other than that.

Stephanie (10/5): - The location of the hotel is great, lots of dining and shopping very close.. easy walk to the beach. The hotel is small and very nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only issue was the pull out sofa bed was very small and uncomfortable for an adult.

Lauren (10/5): - We visited Capitola for our 20th anniversary and this hotel is the perfect place. It is in the center of Capitola. Everything is walking distance. It’s a beautiful piece of property in the heart of Capitola. One of my favorite parts of this was in the evening, there’s a side patio garden with fire pits and comfortable chairs and we were able to sit out there and drink tea, drinks and hang out. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was everything though, the night and the day concierge were wonderful. Such friendly ladies, such kind ladies, so helpful they made our stay so extremely flawless. I will definitely stay at this property again
Nijoel (10/5): This quaint hotel is a pleasure to stay! Location is truly what you are paying for, but staff are super friendly and fac - The location is undeniably perfect for those wishing to be right in the heart of Capitola by the Sea, literally across the street from the best restaurants and beach in the town (aside from Shadowbrook which is a short walk away). The facilities are nice and functional, not extravagant, but very charming in a century-old beachy kind of way. Outdoor fire pit seating area is awesome, but do wish it was bigger. Probably that I didn’t find it sooner and I didn’t stay longer, but I’ll be back! Not a complaint, but this historic landmark deserves its own little gift shop or something inside (magnets, necklaces. t-shirts with a small convenience area) Also not a necessity, but a vending machine wouldn’t be a bad idea and may even bring in some revenue after a couple months with the right variety of at least semi-healthy options in it.

Joan (9/5): We enjoyed our 2 nights with the location and weather. - Breakfast was good. I enjoy lemon w my tea and/or hot water, but three wasnt any available. Maybe next time. The bagels toast options and oatmeal were good. The pastries were good. I did need some protein and there was hard boiled eggs available. The room was a perfect small comfortable room. The ceiling fan was a must. Even tho it was a cool breeze all day, the fan at night felt great. The bed, king, was a little too soft for my liking but we slept well. The 18 stairs up were a challenge with our luggage but we managed. The stairs were wide and easy for balance with handrails too. The early street weep noise was loud but knowing the streets are kept clean was nice.
Tina (10/5): - I really liked the bed was super nice slept really well even though our window faced the busy street. The shower body wash, shampoo and conditioner smells really nice too. The continental breakfast actually was not too bad Bagels, different little cake like pastries, fruit, oatmeal, OJ, Coffee. This is for the people that complain about the price while a agree a little over priced to me too however we are paying for location your right on the main strip we came early so we were able to park right on the curb in front so that was really nice and convenient. Staff was super nice and helped us to light the fire pit outside. No for the downside of things I do not like the bird poop all over everything outside and the turquoise table out back just really needs to be re painted with some rust oleum paint, could even be sanded a little and just hit with some spray paint bam new table. The rooms are super small so if you do not like small places this boutique hotel is not for you. But if you like have the location and being right where everything is you will love this place. We had a nice time and slept well probably one of the nicest beds we have slept in. We would definitely come back again so thank you Capitola Hotel and staff!
jeanlouisp100 (10/5): Really Nice Hotel in Capitola Village! - Really nice hotel just feet from beach. Highly recommend them to anyone staying in the area. Hotel staff were great, very personable and were helpful with recommendations on restaurants and even mailed me my sunglasses that were left behind. If you’re looking for somewhere nice to stay in Capitola or Santa Cruz, this is the place! Will be back for sure with the Family.

I do think our room was haunted and yet I didn’t mind it too much. He just wanted to be acknowledged. Interested if anyone else had the feeling of that. But I do think maybe a smart tv would make it better for movies but we made due.

Tom (8/5): Cozy stay in the heart of Capitola. - Although our stay was on the second floor and I have limited mobility we managed to get everything situated and did enjoy our stay. All except for the six-legged invaders who decided to visit us during the evening. Just had to make sure that no food was left out. Biggest detractor was not having a microwave available. Stay was nice but stairs would be a concern to stay again (no elevator).

Kenneth (4/5): Typical bedroom with a very high price, nothing special at all - The only thing that we liked was.It was close to shops and the beach. The room was very, very small.The shower had was terrible, there was no heater. Had a t v and a bed, and that was about it. It definitely was not anything special. It wasn't horrible but for the price.There was nothing that was special.

CHIEF PATRICIO (10/5): Ocean Breeze the Grand Caymen Room - Our stay was Amazing, Phenomenal and Excellent due to the Staff: Julie, Jessica, Haley and Mark what an exceptional team, just awesome level of Customer Service!! The Hotel was spotless clean and the Grand Caymen Room made such a perfect stay, having our Hot Coffee in the Morning Outside the front door of the room in a Private Patio, Yes, Wow Amazing with the Sun warming you up in the coolness of the Ocean Breeze!!
christam701 (10/5): No need to look further for a place to stay in Capitola - First stay in Capitola, and I won't bother to look at other hotels when I return, because the Capitola Hotel was exactly what I like- small, independently owned, pretty, and has breakfast. Great location. Not a huge breakfast in the morning (my husband probably would not be satisfied with the choices), but I loved it. All the offerings were high quality brands, down to the honey available for tea and coffee. Beds were on the better side for a hotel, but I'm also very critical of beds...if it's not memory foam, I'm achy in the morning. The bath products smell amazing- their "signature blend." Staff were all friendly. Just an all around great stay.

Maybe if we had gotten a room downstairs we would have had a different experience but there was absolutely no sense of privacy whatsoever upstairs during the entirety of our 3 night stay. It felt like we were on the second floor of a small house in a tiny room where you could hear literally everything through the thin shared walls. We could literally hear the man next door snoring on the other side of the wall and every single conversation that him and his wife had while my husband and I were laying in bed. (Definitely not romantic) The only time we could relax was when the other guests around us weren’t in their rooms. It was bad enough that we didn’t want to be at the hotel besides when we were sleeping or taking a quick break and the first night we contemplated if it was worth eating the cost and paying for a different hotel. We almost complained to the front desk about the people sharing the wall with us because you could literally hear everything they were saying but it’s not their fault that the walls are paper thin and you can’t really complain about people talking at a normal volume in their own room. The walls were just THAT thin. The beds were comfortable and the location was ideal but those were the only positives. For over $300/night it just absolutely wasn’t worth the money we paid to stay here. If you’re a couple looking for weekend getaway, we would highly suggest staying elsewhere if privacy is is something that’s important to you.

Gerardo (9/5): Charming stay right in the middle of Capitola - Right in the middle of great food/drinks and night life. Very slow time for tourism (Nov.) but worked out for us. got great seating, service and values. Super friendly atmosphere. Just know that bands play nightly, and you will hear/feel music till very late night. But that's what we were looking for. Would recommend. The hotel itself is very charming and small. bedroom and bathroom. Thats it. no seating area to extra chair. So don't expect much room. Bed was super comfortable. Restroom had no fan so anyone in the bedroom can hear your business.
