Guest Reviews
- Mitchell (8/5): Cool jungle lodge - The staff was super responsive and hotel gave an excellent jungle experience. I will say the location was deceptive. The map looks like its in Cahuita when its actually a 45 minute drive away in Punta Uva. Also you must pay for your stay in cash or they will charge an exorbitant credit card fee.
- Jessica (10/5): - Great location. Had everything I needed. Super peaceful.
- Samantha (8/5): - Great location to explore the area!
- Candice (6/5): I wish I liked it more - The owners were friendly and readily available when needed. I enjoyed the hammock on the porch. The breakfast (fruit, toast and tea) was really good. The beach is about a 10 minute walk. I enjoyed seeing the wildlife from the porch. There are also chickens, dogs and a cat on the property.
There are 3 cabins spread out on the property that includes a river. The bed was very uncomfortable. One of the pillows didn't have a pillow case. There were lizards crawling everywhere inside the cabin. Thankfully, I don't mind them. There is no hot water and the wifi is absolutely terrible. The river looked super swampy. I love kayaking but felt too uneasy to kayak there. I went to dinner with some friends and arrived back around 10pm. The property was pitch black. No lights for the walking path to the cabin. I had to ask my taxi driver to walk me to my room. Get food before it get dark (6pm) because the road is not safe for walking/biking at night. I love nature but this was a little too much for me.
- Jorge (8/5): Great location! - Great location!
The staff was friendly and available.
Well taken care of and clean property surrounded my plenty of plants/trees.
- Eve Marie (10/5): - This place is perfect for the people who like the jungle. It’s quiet at night and the bungalows are rustics but quite comfortable. We enjoyed our stay there. The host are very kind.
- Vik (10/5): - This property was beautiful. I felt like I was living I’m the jungle. The property is full of very tall flora with trails leading to the cabins, river and communal areas. Joshua was very helpful during my stay. Kayaks are available to explore the river. There is a grilling spot if you wanted to prepare some food. The bed was comfy and the fan was all I needed to be comfortable throughout the night. The walk to the beach was short and simple. I’d stay here again when I return to Punta Uva.
- Milka (10/5): Amazing jungle getaway near to the beach - Lovely place with warm and welcoming hosts. The place was clean, with free fresh drinking water and a well equipped kitchen. You can sit on the porch listening to the sounds of the howler monkeys while watching humming birds dance in the surrounding trees. This really is a special place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great jungle setting - Loved the access to both the river for kayaking and the beautiful beach nearby. Hosts were great. Excellent grounds for monkeys, birds sloths, etc. Need to be aware there is no AC or really hot water, can be noise from animals at night. Fantastic breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - If you think you'd love a rustic little cottage in the jungle, teeming with wildlife then this is the place for you. Quaint, quiet and thoroughly relaxing, Pachamama was the highlight of our trip to CR. If you're looking for opulence, look elsewhere.
- Marmotte (6/5): Jungle setting next to the road - The staff were wonderful, especially Bruno and Jack. We booked a 2-bedroom unit. We weren't expecting a posh uptown hotel, but it was a bit rundown and dirty in corners. If this place had cost about half what it did, we would have felt that we got our money's worth. However, at the price we paid we were quite disappointed. There was a decent assortment of crockery, though the flatware was rusty. I went to use the blender, and it hadn't been cleaned from the last guests, and contained two large cockroaches. The beds were comfortable enough. There were mosquito nets but they had holes and couldn't be closed completely, anyway, so the mosquitoes just came in and tormented us. The showers put out only lukewarm water, even when turned down to almost a trickle. Disappointingly, the unit was very close to the road and we got road noises all night. There is a very brown river a short hike from the unit, and you can rent kayaks to use on it, but we didn't try that. We did see a few interesting birds. They have a cat that was desperate to get into our unit and banged and banged on the door. She finally gave up and did a mating serenade for a good share of what remained of the night. There is a nice beach a short drive from the hotel. By the way, be sure to bring cash. They tack on a large fee for credit card charges.
- Lawrence (10/5): 5 nights in late February/early March - Amazing lodge for those who like to sleep in a cottage in the most natural setting. You are in the rainforest with monkeys high above you swinging from the trees. The caretakers of the lodge have 3 friendly dogs. Full breakfast served on your deck at the time YOU specify between 7:30 and 10A. Bring bugspray and be prepared to settle in to nature. There are ceiling fans...no AC but we slept very well. Small but functional kitchen area and a market to shop for staples was 50 yards away.
