Guest Reviews
- Thomas (7/5): Was fine for a quick stop. - Good access to freeway. Staff was friendly Only coffee at breakfast. Maybe bagels or English muffins would have been a better food selection.
- Dušan (5/5): -
- Henderson (1/5): - The front desk man was very kind. Facility is filthy, reeks of cigarettes, building is falling apart from roof to siding. I ended up leaving and getting a diffrent hotel.
- WAYNE (5/5): NEED NEW MATTRESS - ROOM WAS CLEAN BAD MATTRESS
- Melissa (4/5): -
- Ed (8/5): It was a good sleep for a cheap price - Location and price Smelled like cigarette smoke in hallways but room was good
- Boyd (3/5): Not what Red Lion used to be... - The price-point was good. When we pulled into the parking lot, we saw that the exterior paint was peeling all over the building, and a massive section of shingles were pulled away from the roof. Also, it appeared that there were people living in their camper in the parking lot, plugged into the hotel's power. We had already given our credit card, though, and could not get a refund. Even though we were in a non-smoking hall, the smell of smoke in our room during the night was so strong that I woke up nauseated, with a headache, and fully congested. I had to turn on the air conditioning to clear the air and ended up running the central fan for the remainder of my stay.
- Jessica (1/5): Horrible Experience. Dirty Room, No Pillowcases, Stunk like Cigarettes, Uncomfortable Bed. - Not much to like aside from easy location off the freeway and affordable price for a one bed queen. Aside from that, there was way more not to like, about this location, see below. Get ready for a horrible experience, I have photos to back all of this up.
The entire property smelled strongly of cigarettes from the moment I walked in; the odor was thick and constant. Staff did not check my ID at check-in, and my room was on the first floor, near an exterior door, every 30 minutes or so, cigarette smoke would seep into my room, badly.
When I entered the room, I immediately noticed that none of the pillows had pillowcases. There was hair throughout the room, which made the space feel unsanitary. I ended up sleeping on top of the bed using my own pillow and blanket. The mattress itself was very uncomfortable, overly soft, bowed in the middle, and offered no support.
The lack of cleanliness was consistent throughout. There was dried caulk along the baseboard behind the toilet and scattered on the floor, as if it hadn’t been properly cleaned or swept in a long time. Under the bed, I found empty candy wrappers, raising concerns about how long it had been since the room was thoroughly cleaned. The TV and picture frame were covered in smudges and splatter-like spots.
The bathroom was in similarly poor condition. The trash bin appeared to have been reused without properly replacing the liner, there were still remnants and actual trash inside. The shower had visible grime on both the floor and the built-in seat, with discoloration resembling human waste. It was so dirty that I chose not to shower at all.
Because of the overall lack of cleanliness, I didn’t feel comfortable using or even trying the provided breakfast (yogurt, cereal, and muffins). Given the condition of the room, it raised serious concerns about the hotel’s overall hygiene standards, including food handling and storage.
Overall, this was an unacceptable experience. Red Lion should be ashamed of the condition of this location, and Booking.com should reconsider listing it. I will not return and would not recommend this property to anyone for their own health and safety.
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Curtis (7/5): -
- Trina Clegg (3/5): - Price
Quite Very run down and duct tape on the safety latch on the door and on the remote
- Rebecca (5/5): - It was close to the interstate It smelled like cigarette smoke
The mattress was lumpy and squeaky
The building looked unkept, tarps on the roof, paint chipping off the siding
- Alexis (4/5): For the price it’s a decent place to sleep, could easily be improved by having a better breakfast and creamer for coffee - Over all pretty run down. Breakfast was barely any option, no cream for coffee just powder creamer
- ostilio (1/5): None - None None
- Paula (1/5): -
- shazia (10/5): - Price , staff is amazing very gardworking for guest greet at front desk welcome us very fast check in the man at desk gave us very nice and clean room we stayed at GF and it was amazin break fast was ok . property need color need renevation
- Asha (5/5): - The price was right. It was acceptable, but not outstanding. There was a microwave, but no refrigerator. The A/C fan was noisy at times.

- Angela (7/5): Good value - clean room, pet-friendly, breakfast included, easy access location from I-90. - Close to freeway, easy check-in, pet-friendly, and continental breakfast included. They were able to accommodate a first floor room close to the entrance for my elderly mother and small dog. Very reasonable price. Clean room. Nothing over-the-top, but it met our needs.
- Cynthia (5/5): will not stay here again for the price and the quality of the room - breakfast was nice mold on the shower curtain, a hole on the side of the bed, floor was dirty, no nonslip mat in bat tub or bath mat, only 2 towels for 2 days, stopper to sink broke, too far out of town, price was too high
- DANNY (10/5): -
- Heather (4/5): - Staff was great, breakfast was good, and it was close to the highway Tv didn’t work, towels were tiny and only one provided
- Roxana (9/5): -
- ROSE (10/5): -
- Shaun (7/5): It suited my needs.. -
- Thomas (5/5): It was fine, just not up to other red Lyons I’ve stayed at - Close to Butte A little on the shabby side, I’m used to red Lyon establishments being better maintained
- SARAH (7/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Amy (7/5): -
- Sarbjit (10/5): -
- Bart (7/5): Good value for short stay - Clean Needs an update
- laura (5/5): -
- Janet (6/5): - Facility was nice, and the meal was decent. The management was very nice. The room and hallway smelled like pipe smoke or incense, and I woke up in the middle of the night with my lungs and eyes burning.
- Karen (6/5): Still needs some upgrades. - Convenient access to I15 No hair dryer or coffee maker. No place to eat nearby.
- Alex (7/5): -
- Viktor (8/5): -
- Richard (8/5): - The bed was good and the shower was big and roomy The remote didn't work, so I had to change channels from the Directv activator one at a time. The coffee wasn't that fresh, so not that great. No breakfast sandwich or eggs and sausage muffins. The waffles tasted off and were whole wheat flavor.
- Boyd (4/5): -
- Jim (2/5): Not worth $100+ !!! - Bed was ok. Shower was hot. Tv didn't work. Tried to move me a different room. Tv didn't work there either.
Breakfast was horrible. Partial cup of cold leftover coffee from the night before. No waffle mix. No juice. No butter.
- Dan (5/5): - It was a quiet stay The entire hotel smelled of stale cigarettes.
- Jennifer (3/5): - Location was great Looked like it was under construction. Was not clean.
- Don (9/5): Super clean, comfortable and quiet. - The room was very clean. It even smelled clean. Completely acceptable for a one-night stay. Despite being next to the interstate, my room was very quiet and I slept well. No alarm clock or any USB ports of any kind. I know a lot of people set their alarm on their cell phone, but to not have any USB charging ports seems kind of ancient.
- Danny (6/5): - I believe it is a wirk in progress and will be up to date soon.
- Ofelia (10/5): - Friendly staff who recommended places to visit. Took their time to explain how to get to these places.
- leann (1/5): - Nothing. Except guy at front desk was nice. The toliet flooded floor as soon as I flushed it came poring over shoes it was disgusting and I just peed ! The parking lot had broken down car with people living in it. Paid for room but didn't stay . Went to another place and the guy there said he tried staying there and microwave fell on his face he had big gash in his face. Terrible!
- Maria (6/5): - AC broken and loud. Did not get service in my room.
Not central to my location of preference
- Bryan (7/5): reasonably priced, no frills. - not much for breakfast like hot food
- Carole (5/5): You get what you pay for! - Front desk staff was friendly. Ran out of food before breakfast time was over, room was not cleaned between first and second night, toiletries were inaccurate (2 conditioner, no shampoo), etc.
- Larry (8/5): -
- Denise (9/5): -
- Laura (4/5): - It was a good price and convenient. The floor needed to be cleaned in room. There was toenails on the floor and other stuff. The juice machine didn’t work at all. Some of the bagels were dry.
- alta (5/5): It was ok could have been cleaner and better condition of things - Didn't have it.
- Nicholas (3/5): -
- Rebecca (5/5): - Pet friendly Did not have a shower curtain..
- Laura (5/5): - Location Cigarette smoke very strong in Lobby and hallways.
- Lyle (7/5): -
- Esther (6/5): - Room was not clean and bed was very uncomfortable.
- Matthew (3/5): -
- Lauri (2/5): Stay somewhere else - Location Hotel was dirty..no towels...baseboard peeling off walls..TV didn't work..breakfast was sad.... Dog poop on the grounds not picked up.. building in sad need of paint.. very dated and run down.. spend your money elsewhere.. felt very uncomfortable..
- Ravi (2/5): - The cleanliness of the property was extremely poor. There was visible dust throughout the premises—not just in the common areas, but also inside the room itself. The bed, furniture surfaces, and especially the AC vents were covered in dust, indicating a serious lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. This created an uncomfortable and unhealthy environment, making it clear that cleanliness is not a priority at this location.
- F (4/5): Oud, vies en locatie voor gure personen - Niks
- Kim (4/5): - It was incomplete and cheap. The towels didn't match. The pillows were horrible, extremely uncomfortable. The breakfast had oatmeal, yogurt and no spoons!
- Lana (2/5): - Beds were old, only 1 towel in the room with no phone, hair dryer, no shampoo, no vending machine. Noisy and hotel very run down. Asked for extra pillow, never recieved. Breakfast was a joke, the wafflemaker kept tripping breaker so couldn't use. Juice machine not working, only 2 small yogurts, stale bread for toast. Whole experience was terrible.
- Flora (2/5): -
- Dawn (10/5): All went very well. - The room was clean and well maintained, we were very happy with our stay. All went well.
- George (6/5): Unfriendly and old felling - Nobody ever at front desk had to call them each time linnens were old and felt unwashed.
Won’t stay there agian
- Earl (2/5): - Dirty and dingy
- Kamilla (1/5): Miserable - Not much The air conditioner didn’t work, the beds were uncomfortable, and the sheets were dirty.
- Patty (6/5): - Overall appearance was off-putting, but room was satisfactory. Overpriced compared to other places we stayed on this trip.
- Jason (2/5): - Absolutely awful. We ended up not staying and the hotel would not refund us our stay, even for the nights after… we had booked 3 nights! Absolutely unacceptable!!! How is it ok to charge for nights not stayed. The hotel was disgusting, stain on the bed spread torn sheets, missing smoke detector. The list can go on. Also the staff was rude! And not refunding for at least 2 of the nights? Wow! I recommend finding absolutely anywhere else to stay.
- Sally (4/5): Not the red lion you new back in the day - It was affordable The man that checked us in was either mad at us or simply rude
- Ayub (8/5): - The place was okay for the money. The should have checked the room carefully- the shower curtain was not there. Didn’t have enough towels.
- LINDA (8/5): - Looking run down. But they are trying hard to provide a good service
- Verified traveler (6/5): No fridge! - It would've been nice to have a refrigerator, as we often pack our own food and drinks.
- Melissa (2/5): Don’t Stay Here - After we checked in we discovered our room was dirty (floor not clean, trash not taken out) and the AC was not working. We asked to switch rooms only to discover the new room was also very unclean (hair in sink and shower, crumbs on floor, bedding stained). It was late and other hotels were full so we stayed. There were also only two bath towels for four people, when I went to get more I was told there were no more and was given a hand towel. Also the lobby smelled strongly of cigarettes and they had an active bug zapper going right by the breakfast area which we choose not to eat at.
- Randy (4/5): Butte stay - The place looked run down on the outside. The first floor smelled like cigarette smoke. At check-in no information was offered about our stay at all! The room was ok and clean just very small.
- Anne (6/5): - The room was clean and free of cigarette smell. However all the hallways reeked of cigarette smell that appeared to come from the front office and nearby room that had its door propped open. Also, the guest above me stomped on the floors way past 11pm and made it fifficult to sleep.
- fern (2/5): Poor quality hotel- people were nice though - Halls were filthy, no hair dryer in the rooms, no wash cloths, breakfast was bad- ran out of juice, cereal, syrup,
- Sandra (4/5): Totally disappointed!! - The bed was more bouncy than my trampoline at home! My pillow was hard as a rock. Only gave us 2 pillows! No hair dryer in the room so I asked for one. And it didn’t work. We went for breakfast and nothing worked. Juice machine was broken. Toaster didn’t work. No syrup in the container for my waffle. The breakfast room was a mess. We had to wipe off our own table to be able to eat.
Only one plug in the room we could use to charge the phones was in the bathroom.
The only thing I can say was decent was the shower. I did have hot water.
- Kaitlyn (4/5): - I booked a Queen, was given a double. Inside the building smelled of cigarettes, however the room did not. There was not a typical PTAC unit in the room like most hotels/motels, it was central air but room controlled. It did work and we stayed cool all night. The room was very small and not like the picture online at all. It was mostly clean. The shower was nice and big, pretty good water pressure. The soap, shampoo, conditioner was of decent quality. They have a nice walkway around the building, but there is a sign that dogs are not allowed to “potty” anywhere besides the sad looking pet park they have which was put together with chicken wire. Breakfast and coffee was below average. If I had read reviews before booking I would not have stayed here; but car was safe in the lot, we got a good nights rest, and didn’t get bed bugs!
- Nelson (4/5): -
- adam (10/5): - Very nicely renovated rooms. The heating/air system could have been better. A refrigerator would have been nice, but for the price, the clean sheets and clean bed made up for the other those things. I would definitely return to get a room again.
- Mary Jo (4/5): Lots of noise in the room above us. -
- Laura (10/5): - Great spot for me and my kids to stop on our way to vacation. Quick check in and the staff was so friendly. Our room was just as pictured. Looks like they are improving the exterior but everything still looks great! Would absolutely stay here again.
- August (7/5): -
- Steven (6/5): - 👍
- Craig (8/5): Works for a quick stay - The property is dated and in need of an update but clean, convenient and affordable.
- Deavyn (10/5): - There’s lots of truckers there but very easy on and off highway access!
- Eunho (10/5): - It was clean
- Terri (6/5): - The bed was the best part. So comfortable. Looks like they use the same rag to clean the whole motel . Streaky film on mirrors. Need to sweep and mop floors. It sufficed but would not stay again
