- Jonathon (10/5): - Perfect location just outside the city in the south downs.
Keith is a very welcoming host, with nothing to much trouble
Will stay again
- Joanna (10/5): Ducking delightful! - The whole experience of staying at Duck Lodge was easy and delightful. Keith is the consumate host and is quite rightly very proud of the little slice of heaven he has created just outside of Brighton. We really enjoyed the feeling of being tucked away and having our own privacy. Using the hot tub was a treat and the lodge itself is super cute. We will be back :)
- Georgina (10/5): - We highly recommend Duck Lodge. We had a relaxing time, a welcome rest from the South Downs Way. Very comfortable.
- Carolyn (10/5): Wonderful place - We could not be happier with our stay , our host made us most welcome . It is a wonderful place to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This little place has everything you need, and Keith was a wonderful host. We loved Duck Lodge for being something out of the ordinary
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing, what more can I say? Quite a bit actually. We were looking for somewhere just out of Brighton and this looked perfect. 15 mins away and with unanimous great reviews. Keith the owner was so helpful and friendly throughout. The room itself was lovely and spacious and had everything we needed.
We ate at the Plough round the corner which had nice food and breakfast was the best. Warm baguettes, croissants and pan au chocolates, cereal, yoghurt, and a massive fresh fruit platter. There was also lots more to choose from if you really were that greedy. Overall I really couldn't fault any part of the stay and we didn't even get to use the hot tub. Can't recommend highly enough and trust me, we're fussy! Coming back to stay again I'm the New Year.
- Lorna (10/5): Great overnight stay in a unique space - We had a great overnight stay at Duck Lodge, which is a unique and well equipped space - you can tell that a great deal of attention has been paid to detail. Keith is a very congenial host and the breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely stay again if in the area. I can't really comment on the local area as we did not explore it but the surrounding countryside looked wonderful for walkers.
- Clare (10/5): Gorgeous little lodge - Brilliant place to stay, so much better than a generic hotel. Host was very friendly and really helpful. It was great to have an honesty bar available, and the continental style breakfast provided was amazing (and delivered to the cabin)
Cabin itself was really lovely and cosy, and the fairy lights in the garden added to the ambience. The TV had sky q which was unexpected but brilliant... the lodge was a good balance between rustic charm and mod cons that make life better.
Can’t comment on local area really as it was a business trip, but it was convenient for where I was wanting to go
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best B&B I have ever stayed in. - Well, I was unable to fault it and it was a perfect stopover that I would have happily stayed longer at. The placed was spotless. All very comfortable and nothing to want for. The hot tub was a real bonus after a long drive. The host was comprehensive without being OTT. I will certainly stop here again if I am in the area overnight.
- Martha (10/5): - We are so happy to have found Duck Lodge outside Brighton proper. Located in a safe rural picturesque village, it is an easy train ride into Brighton and you won’t have to hassle with parking and crowds. Our host, Keith, keeps the property immaculately maintained and made sure we had anything and everything we needed. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, brought to the door each morning. The bed was comfortable, not lumpy or saggy. Nearby bike rental available which Keith helped arrange . We loved our stay here and would highly recommend if you prefer to be away from the crowds and noise of Brighton. Lovely accommodations with great amenities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely room in a great location - We spent our minimoon at Duck Lodge. The room is really comfortable with an excellent bathroom, lots of space, comfy sofa for chilling out on and an Alexa system connected to Spotify so you can listen to any music you want. There's also a hot tub, which is really good and an outdoor area.
It's in a great location. We went for a lovely walk on the South Downs and there are some good local pubs/restaurants within walking distance and/or a short taxi ride away.
Keith is a good host; he even offered us a lift to a nearby restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful lodge, peaceful and secluded, very well appointed and lots of thoughtful luxurious touches. Attention to detail is excellent and Keith is a fantastic host. Would thoroughly recommend prior to stay here
- John (10/5): - Lovely stay - Thanks to Keith who is the perfect host 😆
- Paul (10/5): Bright’n Beautiful - Stayed with my special needs son for a night whilst we travelled down to see the brilliant BHA defeat Man U. We were welcomed, looked after and respected in equal measures. Such a lovely lodge, comfortable, stylish and homely with all you need for a relaxing break.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Stylish and comfortable - A very stylist and extremely comfortable lodge. Keith very helpful, breakfast delicious and relaxing hot tub too!
- lee (10/5): Excellent - Great place, friendly staff, and great local eateries
- Steve (10/5): The Duck Lodge - A great set up especially the use of the hot tub. Everything about our stay was spot on! We will definitely stay here again.
- Jayne (10/5): Excellent find - We were going to a concert in Brighton and booked Duck Lodge to stay for 1 night.
Keith the host is so kind helpful & friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
This little lodge has everything you could want & need it’s like a home from home, so cosy & comfortable. Keith has thought of everything. The bed is comfortable and the linen is divine you don’t want to get up 😊. There is a small fridge out in the store by the lodge with drinks in, beer, cider, wine & soft drinks that you can help yourself to and leave money in the honesty box. The breakfast provided is delicious, warm bread, meats & cheeses, fruit, yogurts, crossaints, cereals tea coffee fresh orange juice. Amazing.
We would definitely recommend Duck Lodge & stay here again ourselves.
