Guest Reviews
- Natalie (10/5): romantic, cozy, and full of historic charm with a beautiful river view & thoughtful breakfast supply - We had a wonderful stay at Riverside House in the Hannah Scott cottage. The space was incredibly charming and romantic, with a cozy historical feel that made it perfect for a relaxing getaway. We were pleasantly surprised to discover the cottage is spread over two levels, which added to the sense of space and character, and the thoughtful breakfast supplies were such a lovely touch that made our mornings easy and special.
The riverfront view was beautiful and peaceful, and we really enjoyed soaking in the scenery and the quiet atmosphere. It was also nextdoor to The Bush pub - super convenient! One thing to note: if you’re over 6 feet tall or have mobility issues, this might not be the best fit due to the layout and stairs. For us, though, it was part of the charm, and we fully enjoyed the unique, cozy experience. We would happily stay again!
- Pawel (7/5): Generalnie jestem zadowolony bo nie mam okazji często przebywać w podobnych miejscach. - Lokalizacja i historyczny charakter miejsca. Fajni właściciele. Śniadanie raczej dla wegan a ja nie jestem. Chłodno w pokojach i łazience. Latem byłoby O.K.
- Orla (10/5): Cosy, private, peaceful and very well located. - Wonderful stay in a very picturesqe and peaceful location. Room was warm, bed cosy and restful. - Matt (10/5): - The property was in a great location. Quite calm setting i found there to be good room for parking. And at the end of the garden was the river which is really easy to get too with some great decking and seating to have a nice glass of wine or beer while the sun it setting.
The hosts were great on hand if you need them. Breakfast items were replenished daily for me and bins were emptied too which was a great little touch. You will not be disappointed staying at this little gem of a place.
- Karen (10/5): -

- William (10/5): Perfection - Remains the best place ever. I'm genuinely sad that I've not been able to visit for a while!
I stay here regularly for work, sometimes i get a takeaway, sometimes I eat out, sometimes I cook some simple stuff via the supplied Air Fryer and Microwave, it's a great perfect mix.
The hosts are incredible, the location is peaceful, the seating by the river is sublime.
Looking forward to returning in the new year! There's literally nothing negative to say.

- Samuel (10/5): Nice place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of life - It was great although on my own stupidity I banged my head forgot the warnings but old and modern combined like a honeymoon getaway only on my own this time would have liked to stay longer Just the low hight of the connecting door but it couldn’t be helped I should have taken more notice of the warnings otherwise there was nothing I didn’t like
- Crosskey (7/5): - Lovely old 17th centuary cottage ,beautiful decked area overlooking the river Lack of hot water
Heated towel rail not working , so towels damp
- Steve (9/5): Everything as advertised and more - The location was peaceful and beautiful with a river running at the bottom of the garden, looking out to cows grazing on the meadow and a lovely start or end to your day. The room itself was beyond expectations. Nothing

The host James was brilliant. No question too much and dealt with swiftly. Great communication. The terrace by the river as well was worth the money alone!
One of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. I mean do I have to fill this out? I mean they didn't have a bottle opener / corkscrew ? It's okay though I bought one and left it there :-)

- Scadden (10/5): Exceptional - This was a perfect place for us to explore norwich and meet up with friends there.
My husband loves to fish, so he had that opportunity . The river passed the bottom of the garden and there was a table ,umbrella and chairs down there so that I could spend time down there with him.
Another great thing was that a short walk from the cottage was a bus service directly into Norwich. We did not need to use the car at all.
Total privacy. All good

The bus to Norwich City center runs close by.
- Virginia (5/5): Mmm - Clean an cosy. Close to where my aunt was staying Bathroom was downstairs, tricky to navigate during the nt. Bed and settee was low for my mum to get up and down from. Cosy lounge/kitchen area, but looked a bit dark and dingy, could do with brightening it up.

Had plenty of parking and was easy to get to. Nothing to report 😀

- Curtis (8/5): I really enjoyed my stay at the cottage and I would definitely stay here again. - Cozy cottage on the outskirts of Norwich, it was very comfortable, the garden down the bottom was nice and you can sit on the deck watching the sunset. I found the cottage had a lot of character and charm. You have to watch your head because it is an old cottage (there are signs telling you that), finding the property was a little tricky and the shower was unpredictable, one minute it was freezing cold next minute it was piping hot.
- Joanne (10/5): Lovely stay at a lovely property - The location was beautiful the views amazing. The room was well equipped with everything you could need
- Reis (10/5): peaceful - it was a pleasant ,peaceful and romantic place to stay..definitely recommend it👌👌
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely peaceful location. Cute little cottage. Amazing selection of breakfast. I would like to return and stay longer next year!
- Pat (10/5): Exceptional - Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. The setting is superb.
- Frances (9/5): Superb - Nice little cottage..very clean and tidy. Had everything we needed including milk bread and coffee etc. Good selection of breakfast items too. Want expecting it to be cleaned each day which was a nice surprise Nothing everything was good. Good location and easy parking
- Amanda (8/5): Very good - It is always very clean and comfortable.
We love relaxing by the river.
We have family in the area , so we visit a couple of times a year
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - The quaint little cottage was lovely. Right next to a stream where you could sit and relax. We didn't like anything
- Deborah (10/5): outstanding trip lovely outstanding accomidation - Very compact with every thing we needed to hand beautiful surroundings, had a lovely time hoping to go back same time next year if there any vacancy for
- Petra (8/5): Very good - We had a lovely three night stay at Hannah Scott’s.
A small self-contained little cottage, very nicely decorated and a nice terrace in the garden at the waterfront along a small river. Breakfast consisted of a choice of cereals, yoghurt, milk and a variety of pre-packed cakes and croissants. It is possible to prepare a simple meal (microwave and airfryer) Guests should realize that, as it is an old traditional cottage, all doorways are very low (approx 165cm).
- Katherine (10/5): Peaceful location, a true escape🦋 - James equipped our room with a selection of pastries and breakfast foods, we spent a lot of our time down at the bottom of the private garden watching the bats and dragonflies. The garden was also lined with buddleia so we saw many butterflies! The bed was comfy and shower pressure was great! We tried the local Chinese/thai on our first night, would recommend the ribs and duck chow mein! More ways to cook would be great, having some liners for the air fryer would make it more appealing to use. A table top induction hob would make it so you could eat at the property for more meals.
- Bbrain (5/5): Should be self catering 6 -
- Caroline (8/5): Very good - The views were amazing and it was such a peaceful and tranquil stay. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent accommodation in a beautiful area of Norfolk with river at end of garden perfect to relax and unwind
- Rosemary (9/5): Lovely location for a short break. - The breakfast was left in the room. Tea and coffee, cereals, bread, pastries, yoghurts, margarine, milk & jams etc There was a fridge, kettle, toaster and airfryer in the room.
The views from the room were lovely with seats indoors to view it and there is an outdoor seating area and a garden with more seats overlooking the river. Very beautiful. The facilities were good, and the compact use of space maximises storage. You had to ask for more of things you needed for breakfast, even milk and yoghurts which only had enough for one day.
There was no decaf tea or coffee.
The TV screen was rather small, but there was not really a place to put a bigger one.
- Mpp (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy, comfortable accommodation with thoughtful touches.
Hosts were friendly, professional, and helpful but not intrusive.
We slept very well, had good showers, and the lounge/kitchen area is well equipped with a variety of breakfast items .
Beautiful river setting and if the weather had been kinder, the perfect place to relax.
- Mark (10/5): A hidden little gem, super setting, quiet, river at the bottom of the garden, next door to a pub - We are not big eaters and we had a good choice of cereals/bread/cakes to start the day nothing comes to mind
- Will (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeff (10/5): A quiet place for a quiet stay and a quiet relaxing quirky holiday. - DIY Breakfast in 100% choices. Quirky 17th century private building - garden by river Wensum - what's not to like.

- Fran (9/5): A hidden gem with a view. - Great location. Quiet, lovely to sit by the river. Comfortable and roomy.
Great hosts. Nothing too much trouble. We liked everything. Would not be suitable for wheelchairs.
The TV just needs the Ariel sorting.
- Craig (10/5): Relaxing time in Harrigate - It was central for our event. City view from our room. Staff friendly and helpful. Didn’t have a meal on this visit
- Celeste (8/5): Cute cottage - Cosy little cottage. Costessey (pronounced Cossey) is lovely. Close to Cromer, Sheringham, Blakeney and Norwich, all of which we explored during our two night stay.
James is great. Quick to respond. Very obliging. He came out to meet us and give us a couple of recommendations.
Comfortable for a short stay. Would recommend.
- Josephine (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely views over the river with seating area. Very quiet and peaceful. James very friendly...stayed before.
- Graeme (8/5): Comfortable and well priced - Loverly little hide away with great character. All good doors are a little small, but adds to the sourouding.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (8/5): Comfortable and warm with great views - Cosy room with all the facilities you need including breakfast. Great location, overlooking the river with lovely views Riverside is connected to another cottage and the walls are thin so it was a bit noisy
The tv only showed BBC channels
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iryna (9/5): Superb -
- Crawford (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful loved it , thank you
