- Snehal (8/5): Good view hotel - The view from the balcony was amazing! The breakfast and the staff. There were red ants in the bathroom and toilet seat. I had to get rid of them, the hotel should use sprays before check in! The photos look great but the room was smaller and no TV in the room.. The road to get to the hotel isn't very easy for cars! Very steep. The location is outta city. I booked this place as it had swimming pool but it was under construction, they should have mentioned it.

Nos quedamos dos noches, la habitación estaba muy limpia y nos la limpiaron cada día. El desayuno también nos gustó mucho y era abundante. Almuerzas en una terraza con una vistas muy bonitas al río y los bosques. La habitación tiene aire acondicionado y nevera. No disponen de servicio de lavandería, pero se lo preguntamos y se encargaron de todo: dejamos la ropa por la mañana y nos la trajeron por la tarde. Nosotros recomendamos mucho este hotel. Lo único que podría decir es que la presión del agua era muy baja.

- Calum (10/5): Great place to stay! - - Great location. On top of the hill so it’s tucked away from the traffic and noise of the city centre and has great views. - Friendly, helpful, professional and well dressed staff all with great English on hand around the clock. The helped us sort our laundry, carry our luggage to and from our room, plan our days and get around via Tuk Tuk or taxi. - Breakfast was included, they were happy to serve it at whichever time we requested and it was always there on time so we could easy fit it around our schedule. - Austin the Tuk Tuk driver that works for the hotel was very helpful and friendly. We exchanged numbers and were able to organise lifts with him at short notice to go to and from wherever we needed to go. He always replied and arrived promptly and spoke perfect English so it made the entire process very simple. He was also able to give us lots of tips, advice and local knowledge. Everything was perfect!

- Sofia (5/5): - La struttura è situata nella parte collinare di Kandy quindi c’è una bellissima vista e sei lontanato dal caos della città. Lo staff molto accogliente e gentilissimo, si sono presi cura di noi e hanno cercato di risolvere i vari intoppi incontrati durante il soggiorno. Purtroppo abbiamo avuto dei problemi con il bagno. Inizialmente, nella nostra prima camera, la doccia non funzionava. Lo staff molto gentile ci ha cambiato subito stanza dandocene anche una più spaziosa e nei piani più alti. Nella seconda stanza non funzionava il WC, ma molto gentilmente hanno subito chiamato un signore per ripararcelo. Diciamo che per il prezzo pagato la struttura è accettabile, soprattutto per la gentilezza dello staff.
- Anna (6/5): Saubere, abgelegene Unterkunft mit schöner Aussicht. - Man hat von der Terrasse der Unterkunft eine traumhafte Aussicht auf die Berge und das grüne Inland. Das Zimmer war sauber und ist ganz schön eingerichtet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Unterkunft ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Holz vom Bett blättert ab, die Türen klappern, die Duschabtrennung ist nicht richtig dicht, sodass man das Bad beim Duschen komplett unter Wasser setzt. Die Türen sind zudem nicht komplett dicht, sodass wir schon ein paar Insekten im Zimmer hatten. Das Badezimmer war nur mit einem Vorhang von der Terrasse abgetrennt, sodass auch hier einige Mücken waren. Die Matratzen waren außerdem sehr hart. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, wobei an einem Tag beim Rührei wohl das Salz mit dem Zucker verwechselt wurde. Die Unterkunft liegt außerdem etwas abgelegen von Kandy. Wir haben etwa 20 min pro Strecke gebraucht.

- Ilona (8/5): Dobre miejsce na jedną max dwie noce żeby kontynuować swoją podróż. Bardzo pomocna obsługa. Pyszne śniadania! - trzeba przyznać że hotel jest czysty. Są tylko 3 pokoje więc śniadanie można zamawiać dowolnie kiedy się potrzebuje. Piękne miejsce na spożywanie śniadania. Jest też bardzo fajny basen, można skorzystać. Z hotelem współpracuje kierowca tuk tuka Austin, przemiły i przeserdeczny gośc. Zabrał nas na cały dzień w różne fajne miejsca, niektóre trochę komercyjne, ale też ciekawe. Polecamy dzień z Austinem! I przepyszne śniadanko! Niestety hotel bardzo stary i zniszczony. I jedzenie zamawiane dodatkowo z hotelu nie do końca miało dobra jakość za swoja cenę. Zamówiliśmy makaron z owocami morza a wyglądało i smakowało jak kurczak. Nie było żelu pod prysznicem i brakowało mi koca żeby się w nocy przykryć bo jednak pod klimatyzacja wiało. Dzieciaki spały w łóżkach i miały tylko koce - trochę mało higienicznie to wyglądało bo nie sądzę żeby koce prali po każdym gościu.

- Sanoon (7/5): We stayed here for two full days with our family and had a wonderful experience. - First of all, the location of this hotel is excellent — just about 4 km from Kandy town, yet tucked away in a peaceful and quiet area, far from the noise and traffic of the city. In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated hotels in the area. It’s situated on top of a mountain, offering breathtaking views. The hotel manager, Mr. Piyantha, was very attentive, and another staff member, Thinusa, was also incredibly helpful and friendly. Overall, we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay here and would definitely recommend it to others.

The tuk tuk driver ordered by the hotel was really helpful and cheap, and we saw a dance show on his recommendation which we really enjoyed. Thank you for our pleasant stay! Recommended!!!

The staff were very accommodating, respectful and helpful, they did their best ti make us comfortable. Unfortunately after processing payment for our second night we were told to pay more due to their error, upon payment the price went up again.

- Glyn (9/5): Family of 4 had a fun few nights stay in Kandy and were made to feel very welcome at the Range. - The property is in a good location for Kandy’s attractions and is wonderfully quirky. The family room was a nice space for a family of 4. The best thing about the hotel is the manager and staff. They were always ready to help and so friendly. They helped us with multiple travel arrangements and even arranged for a local yoga guru to come and give us a fantastic roof top yoga session. Breakfast and dinner was also great. Due to the nature of the quirky fun building it isn’t spotlessly clean like a boring chain hotel, but this is a fair trade off for staying somewhere that you’ll remember rather than a chain hotel.

Staff were excellent, so helpful (even organised a delivery of cold beers so we didn’t have to leave the view!). Loved our time here. Wifi patchy, pool area needed a good clean as sitting area overgrown and not very appealing- pool was great though and spotless. Breakfast continental option only - would have loved some rotti and dhal.

- Reinald (9/5): Superb - Extremly helpfull staff, looking after their guests. Breakfast and other meals are well prepared. Somewhat oldish interieur, probly not going to be updated, as it is newly build in the slots besides. Nevertheless still very nice to be in.
- David (4/5): Disappointed - View from the breakfast table. The staff were reasonably friendly. Pool was welcome (but it’s way smaller than it looks on the photos) This was our one disappointment out of 9 hotels in Sri Lanka. Got off to a bad start because the headline price doesn’t include over 30% of additional tax! (This practice is illegal in Europe). It was in the small print but you have to look for it. I was expecting a hotel but it’s more of an air b&b with a couple of staff. For the price I felt it was massively overpriced (more expensive than Devon Rest for instance which is a grand hotel right on the lake in Kandy). We had to pay for a tuk tuk to reach the door of the hotel because the driver couldn’t make it up the steep drive.

- Caitlyn (7/5): Although the location is a little out of town, it is worth it for the weave and quiet, and everything is accesible by tu - The view from the balcony for breakfast and dinner was incredible! Austin, the tuk tuk driver, was amazing, made lots of suggestions and was very flexible to changing plans to suit us. The staff took very good care of us. Lots of stairs, no external window in our room (but still a nice room with a small courtyard), our driver didn’t attempt the hill (but not a problem in Austin’s tuk tuk).

The breakfast and dinner were delicious and we had a perfect view over the beautiful landscape. The room was very spacious and there were also common areas with sofas where we could sit in the evenings while our kids were already sleeping. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. The hill is a little hard to drive on to by car. But our driver managed fine and the view is absolutely worth is.
- Hanne (9/5): Beautiful views, but need for Tuktuk - Beautiful views from the breakfast balcony and the pool area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Okay breakfast, but I would’ve preferred something else than light loaf on the side. Clean room, and quiet area. My room (bike room) did not have a window, which made it feel moist. It was also quite small, no room for opening the luggage in the main room, and the outdoors area was a bit weird and hot and not really usable. The pool could use a deep clean. You need to take a Tuktuk to get to, and from the hotel. Also, when I was there, there were two families there with small children, and it became evident that the hotel walls don’t isolate sound very well.

- Nicolas (10/5): Very good choice in Kandy - Very nice little hotel, it’s like a villa. Our room was huge, with incredible view, with 2 bed for children in a corner and 2 king size bed for parents in another corner (so it’s separate and it’s appreciated). The breakfast is very good, with a nice view on terrasse and good food, fruits… And the team was very friendly and attentive to fulfill all our wishes, from Tuktuk to train tickets. We recommend it 100% and will come back. Nothing

Breakfast is quite ok and the sight view from the balcony is so beautiful. Their staff especially two little supporting staff are so hard working and smart. The side place of my room is dirty.

Breakfast was way too continental and average. When requested to have some traditional roti this was not possible. Missing the authentic Sri Lankan hospitality.

- Fernandez (9/5): Would definitely come back to enjoy the views this place provides and the hospitality of the staff. - I will mark this as a humble Bed and Breakfast space in Kandy which houses several private rooms with living area, kitchen, balcony and terrace to be shared by inmates. Provides a very homely touch to our stay in Kandy. We had a lovely stay here with spacious rooms, fantastic views overlooking the river and village, and perfectly located to enjoy the sunrise. The staff are super friendly, helpful. Special mention to Priyantha and Lakmal who were prompt to attend our calls and manage our needs. They also accepted my request to check-in at 3.00 am. The road to the hotel is quite steep but they had a tuk tuk to help bring our large luggages from the car to the hotel as our drivers car couldn’t climb the steep hill with 3 large luggages in the boot. Lizards and ants.

The view is beautiful even though the climb is high. Quite far from the city center and ants were coming in through the balcony. No doors to out shower.

The initial price shown without taxes (around 25%), then during room selection and purchase verification process no further mentioning re taxation (hence unless one remembered this, it is not necessarily obvious), and the total price after submitting booking request and confirmation on the app doesn't mention re further tax /VATS to be paid. We were not aware of this further 25% extra tax and it was unpleasant surprise for us. Linens were old and worn with holes , but clean Overall facility seems to be a bit run down and would do better with some renovations and better pricing policy

Tasty breakfast, clean rooms. 5 min to the bus station to take a bus to the city center A bit further away from the center, meaning you always had to use transportation to get there

The breakfast was so lovely, the presentation, the view the fabulous staff. The staff, I just cannot rate them high enough.from the moment we arrived, juice, a pot of coffee simple check in and shown to our room.so friendly,welcoming and helpful. As it was the first day of festival, they arranged a tuk tuk to get us there and did everything they could to get us closer. Sadly we had left it too late,so booked another night and bought tickets! Austin the tuk tuk driver collected us next morning took us to the elephant orphanage,waited and brought us back. Felt safe at all times and that is saying something on these roads! All in all a fantastic stay and would highly recommend. Absolutely nothing

- Laura (9/5): Amazing, kind people and a safe slice of Sri Lankan beauty - The location was near Kandy train station reached by a lovely, short drive past the lake and into the mountains. The view is spectacular from the many outdoor areas on the balcony and the outdoor pool. The staff were so kind and made us feel so comfortable and welcome - including our boisterous 3 year old and 7 year old. We had a good sized family room with two single beds and a large double. There was a fridge and we were welcomed with tea and juice. We had breakfast as a part of our stay which was incredible! We chose to stay for dinners too purely because we were chilling for our stay before moving on - and it didn’t disappoint. We could not have been made to feel More welcome. Covid has impacted this business, as it has many and it would be an injustice if this place didn’t get the chance to thrive again. The hospitality is like nothing we’ve experienced. If you’re after immaculate 5star luxury this isn’t for you - but if you want comfortable, safe, child friendly and kindness, you won’t go wrong with Range Kandy. We were so happy.

Inget fanns på gångavstånd, så bo hellre nere i stan. Enda postiva var trevlig personal och fin utsikt från allmänna utrymmen (men ingen från rummet)

- Maria (10/5): Underbart fint hotell. - Underbart litet hotell på ett berg i utkanten av Kandy. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal, stora och fräscha rum. Frukosten serveras på takterrassen med en helt otrolig utsikt. Lätt att ta sig in till Kandy centrum med en tuktuk. Rekommenderar varmt!
