• Kaitlyn (1/5): No one is available to answer your questions. - The property served its purpose as a place to sleep — that is all. There was no front desk / employee to greet us or help us check in. Our keys were on the counter with a piece of paper. We were told that there was parking, but no one was available in person to assist us, so I reached out via booking.com to message them, and did not get an adequate response, so we parked on the street overnight (unsure if that was allowed). The walls are EXTREMELY THIN and there were strange renovations going on within the building (see photos). There was not enough space in the bathroom to take a shower without getting everything wet - the shower spray went all over the toilet and we were given a floor squeegee to manage the mess. We did not know if breakfast was included or what time, because no one was working there. We did not feel safe and only stayed on the property to sleep. It was very uncomfortable and I will never stay there again.

• Olga Anna (9/5): - Hamar Guesthouse is very centrally located—just a couple of minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal, with good restaurants nearby and a great starting point for hikes and nature experiences including northern light. Check-in and check-out were easy. My room was spacious and very cozy, with a comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. Highly recommended!

• Brendan (4/5): - Yeah not a great experience. No staff after we checked in and another guests key was just left on the front desk??? Strange. A cot was left in the room.(which was already small). Bathroom was recently redone but the rest of the room was very dated. No elevator for anyone that can’t handle stairs. TV had a warning up about some weird charge. Glad I was only there for a night.

• Sara (10/5): - Beautiful guest house. Large room with view of a volcano and most comfortable bed of my entire stay in Iceland. Modern bathroom. Very convenient to ferry. Easy parking. Very nice but not bougie just how I like it!
• LYNN (10/5): Great stay - Enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Check in was simple, and the staff was very kind. Walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. I'd stay here again.

• Gunnarsson (10/5): Great lodging for a solo female traveler - Breakfast was amazing. The hotel was clean and everyone was friendly. The only disappointing thing was they must have a filter on their water so you don’t get that salt or smell and I love the smell of Iceland's water I couldn’t figure out the TV and I do like to watch a little TV before I fall asleep. But I was so tired from exploring. I still fell asleep.

• Weiss (8/5): I loved Vestmannaeyjar, and this was a good place to stay. - The location was great, and the rooms were very comfortable. I found the breakfast a bit sparse. The common spaces were a little run-down.
• Chia (8/5): Comfy stay - We were lucky to get a room to stay on the island overnight because it was a busy weekend in the summer. The room was simple but sufficient, breakfast was a bit limited but again, had sufficient options for us. I especially liked the tuna salad and have been trying to recreate it since I came back home. The location of the guesthouse is great! Close to everything: bonus, restaurants, the ferry dock… etc. and lots of parking on the street.

• Avery (10/5): A cosy and comfortable place - I stayed at the guesthouse with my son, we had a special request for the room due to health issues, and the guesthouse met our request. The location is super, very central. The rooms are big, clean and really comfortable. Definitely staying there again when we visit again.

• Thomas (10/5): One night sleep near a volcano - One quick overnight stay. Staff was very accommodating for our early arrival. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately, we had to leave early for the ferry departure and weren't able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast.

• Richard (8/5): Good base for exploring Vestmannaeyjar. - Excellent location near ferry dock. Shopping and restaurants nearby. Good base if you have a car. No food available on site.
• Christine (10/5): - This simple guesthouse was in a perfect location and was very clean and safe. We wanted extra pillows and they were brought to us. I appreciated having a couch to sit on, it's nice to have the extra seating area. Also appreciated the fridge in the hallway.
• Lori (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location. You can actually see it from the port. Breakfast was very good. Was not supposed to be available during the time of our stay, but was included since they were full at their sister hostel. Parking was right outside the hotel. Very convenient. Nothing that I didn't like.
