As the most expensive location of our 8 day driving holiday, I expected a little more... Digital TV? This was the first place we stayed at that did not provide access to digital TV options. Maybe even access to the dining area/fireplace?? I know the restaurant is currently not operational, but it's a wasted resource at present, and could make a lovely shared lounge/gathering place... somewhere to go other than just staying in our room. Otherwise, you're just offering a hotel room, not a "retreat" location.

Steven.W111 (10/5): - What an amazing location! As night descended so did the clouds. It felt like you were in your own little world. When morning came, the Sun ascended over the mountains directly out the back door. Abundant bird life and the deer were nice to watch. The room was comfortable and well thought out. The shower was really nice in both pressure and height (as a tall guy shower heads are often neck height for me.) Half the bathroom is a skylight. On a clear night you'd be showering in star light. I'd definitely stay here again if I was in the area. One of the external rear lights is cool white while the rest of them are warm white. Not a big deal but still hurts my soul a little bit haha.

The room was adequate, with a comfy settee. Having facilities to have breakfast was a relief. I was disappointed that as would expected for a luxury 'retreat' that breakfast would be an option. Additionally, I would have expected that dinner would have been available - at least over the weekend. Thank goodness for reasonable pub meals. RSL not recommended

Dee (9/5): Beautiful location, spacious room and convenient location - Lookout Mountain Retreat is set on a gorgeous property with incredible views of Dorrigo and surrounding areas. Greeted by friendly staff who were local to the area and helpful in recommending local eats and attractions. We felt like we could completely escape in our own private retreat, yet we were still less than 5 mins drive into Dorrigo town, and the beautiful World Heritage Gondwana National Park. The room was well appointed, spacious for 2 people, with a very comfortable bed and quite possibly the best shower I’ve ever had - loved the skylight in the bathroom! I’d definitely come back again :)

Peter (7/5): Stunning location and views no restaurants anywhere in vicinity open on a Sunday - Superb location,pleasant room with amazing views even though it was raining during our stay. We arrived late 5pm on a Sunday.No restaurant in hotel and staff went off duty at 5.30pm Think we were the only guests and it was a bit spooky especially as it is in an isolated position. We ventured out for food but Being a Sunday none of the restaurants were open in the sleepy little town we ended up with sandwich and pies from a little convenience store.Not quite the special night we anticipated.We were celebrating an Anniversary.Maybe guests could be informed of no restaurant in hotel and places not open or close early on a Sunday

They do have frozen meals to buy from reception. Had to drive back into town for meals. No sound buffering - could hear other guests next door talking and kids running about in their rooms.

Irfan (1/5): Scary for kids and embaressment for parent. - Good view location I would not suggest for family with kids. My kids was scared when i was touching their pillow and we found spider on it. On both kids bed on the pillows. It was embarrassment for me as a parent. In my kids found big cockroach in bed rooms. Toilet had sliding rail door with very poor condition and no lock. No electric exhaust n very scary dirty manual roof exhaust. The bedrooms curtain did provide privacy. We all scared and left the hotel in early morning although we booked for 2 nights. Location was beautiful.
