Guest Reviews
- Dianna (10/5): - I had never stayed in this area before but really liked it. It felt very safe and had lots of restaurants and nightlife. Also family oriented. Bus 69 and 96 brings you to the heart of Paris
The bed was comfortable but wallls are thin. Staff were helpful despite language problems.
- Oscar (10/5): - close to everything
- Marina (6/5): - It is a one star hotel, I did not expect much. The bedsheets were clean. The water was warm in my room was not smelly. The stuff was nice. The location actually great, because there are so many bakeries around and the grocery store and very close to subway station..
- OLIVIER (8/5): - .
- Richard (10/5): - A great little hotel tucked away on a nice boulevard. Very close to the Metro. Wonderfully helpful staff. I’ve stayed there three times and will go back!
- T9730ABdanielac (10/5): WAS EXCELLENT ! - My stay at this hotel was fantastic, the room was clean, overlooking the street and the staff is very attentive. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Paris.
- Kenzie (6/5): - The hotel room was good, however the towels in our bathroom were not clean and they smelt bad. Our room smelt fine but in the hall ways it smelt like cigarettes. Overall it is in a good area, the staff were nice!
- Chris (10/5): - Good budget hotel near number 9 train. Small room, safe area. Great if you’re the traveler who just needs a place to sleep on a budget. Beds aren’t the most comfortable but the windows are amazing. We were there when PSG won the champions league and once you closed the windows, you couldn’t hear a thing. Restaurants, small grocery stores, pharmacy all right there in the neighborhood.
- Tyler (10/5): Simple and friendly - Plenty of room, everything worked, lovely staff, and an elevator. What more could you ask of a budget hotel
- atheenashanee2025 (10/5): The Best hotel - I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jude and Jhay for their exceptional assistance during my family's stay. They ensured that all our concerns, including issues with the television and air conditioning, were promptly addressed by coordinating with the engineering department. Their attentiveness and dedication truly made a difference in our experience.
I would also like to extend my thanks to the housekeeping department for efficiently handling our make-up room requests, which were always completed smoothly throughout our stay
- Joana (8/5): - The property is good, the area is near a lot of train station like 5mint walk. A lot of restaurants, boulangeries and a supermarket.
- Jan (10/5): - This is a basic hotel, but at this price and in this part of Paris, Hotel Acacia offers an excellent deal. For a single traveller who wants a comfortable bed for the night, a clean toilet and shower, and easy access to public transport, this is a really good, no-nonsense option.
- marius (10/5): Nice hotel - I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights until yesterday.
clean room, towels changed daily, hot water at discretion, very good heat, overall for us it was exactly what we were looking for.
the staff was very nice without any problems, I strongly recommend this hostel for those who want a city break close to the center and the metro and bus.
very quiet area and full of cafes and supermarkets
- LISA (4/5): - The location appeared sketchy upon arrival, but there were great restaurants and bars within walking distance. We checked out early because the elevator broke and we were on the 7th floor!! We ended up paying for a different room elsewhere in addition to having prepaid for this room.. we had only one outlet in the entire room, which slept 3 adults!!! UNSATISFACTORY!!
- Michael (6/5): - Staff was accommodating but definitely an issue with the smell of cigarettes throughout
- Ravio Patra (10/5): - Great value for money. Clean and located close to Metro and bus stops. Reception is super nice. Only downside is the elevator went out of order after my first night so I had to climb the narrow staircase for 5 floors - esp when checking out with luggage. But it also wasn’t that bad that it ruined the stay. Would come back!
- peter (8/5): - Really Enjoyed our 9 night stay at the Acacia a small and simple spot located in an eminently walkable & bikeable area of the best damn city in the world. Not the Ritz but you just need a place to lay your tired head in the city of light...Nice staff people good continental breakfast clean sheets and room...the pigeons are noisy but they gotta live too... I'd go there again any time!!!
- Robert (8/5): - This hotel is a very basic, no-frills place to stay in Paris. It is a fair distance away from places of interest The bed was comfortable. Breakfast variety was minimal but the baked goods were tasty and filling. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The neighborhood is colorful, interesting and bustling and there are many restaurants and shops nearby.
- AenEsa (10/5): Will come again - The old hotel but nice. 6 nights. Close to all places such as restaurants, markets, laundry and metro train. Very helpful and friendly staff. rooms are cleaned daily, towels are always changed. The important thing is that there is an elevator. Overall okay and very satisfied with this hotel.
- Gregory (6/5): - For the price it was decent. No linen changes for a week! Short walk to the metro but quite a distance from the major sites. It was pretty quiet. There was a vent in the bathroom that let the winter air in, so the bathroom was freezing. Towels were like sandpaper.
- Scott (10/5): - A great wee hotel in a great area. The staff were really nice. I would stay here again.
- Alison (10/5): - Great location and lovely staff. If you want a bed for the night in Paris, this hotel has all the essentials. Option of breakfast - croissants, cereal, hot drinks - which was very reasonable.
Really happy we stayed here.
- I Ying (2/5): - The entire room smells like cigarette including all the blankets, towels and pillows. Although it’s a cheap place to stay, I would rather pay extra and stay somewhere more comfortable.
- olga (4/5): - Poor hotel
- Felipe (2/5): - The place was old dirty, they not even had bath towels I will not recommend to anyone
- Jose (2/5): - Did not go after hearing of bugs from a former visitor. They kept the full fee since i didntnshow up. However, i payed the cost to stay at a better location.
- Christopher (2/5): - So this property my biggest problem was there was major communication issues the staff really doesn’t understand English; I do get I am in a foreign country however it’s a hotel and I feel like if they having people from foreign nations they should be able to communicate at the very least. Every time I asked for toilet paper I barely got any maybe one roll if I was lucky as for towels for showering what a joke they give you one! Than when I leave to check out they charge the 48 Euro tax for breakfast which is basically croissants one day I missed it! What’s most irritating is that I complained to Orbtiz and they did nothing for me they just want to give a 50 dollar off next hotel stay something should have been credited back! One other interesting thing was they wanted to keep your room key while you went out god only knows why but I refused! All in all it was a good price but I wouldn’t recommend due to basic amenities not being provided and security issues and communication issues especially when you’re in a foreign country solo and don’t have anyone really to even ask directions from!
- Hector Ricardo (6/5): - It was my first time visiting it was decent for the most part
- Jennifer (4/5): Not the best - Pillows and bed very uncomfortable. Staff super friendly and helpful. Towels were more like hand towels! Location was good. It was decent I guess. I would not stay here again.
- Celestyna (6/5): - The double glazed windows were amazing for keeping sound out, which was great. Close to some good areas for eating
But there was no fan or cooling in the room, meaning we needed to keep the windows open, and that let a lot of noise in as it is on a main road, above three bars.
Plus the towels for showering are the size of handtowels.
- P279YMdavido (4/5): Hostel not Hotel - This is just my opinion. I'm sure others will disagree. Stayed for 4 nights in late September. The hotel has a lift, but luckily, we were on the first. First off, I personally would not class it .. a hotel, a hostel is the more appropriate word. Not all rooms have a bathroom on the first floor. It has no bar, no dining area, or lounge area. It does a continental breakfast, I'm not sure what, though. I found it strange that you had to hand in your key every time you left the premises , there are bars and restaurants all around and a supermarket across the road. Our room was at the front of the building. This meant we got very little sleep, bars stay open very late so it's very loud at night. The street outside is very busy at night, lots of loud cars passing by. It's supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, but I can tell you that people 100 per cent were smoking in there.... including staff in the room behind reception.
Finally, it's very true ... you get what you pay.
- Elba (2/5): - A very old hotel, super small rooms not well kept, even though is a non smoke you can smell the cigarette smoke all night, I let the front desk know but they pay no attention, definitely not a hotel to stay with your family.
- Juvenal (2/5): - .
- Monica (2/5): - It was a depressing hotel, room very small for three people, unbelievable dirty, the comforters were stained on one of them I saw a white stain, I scratched it with my finger nail and white “dust” dust started coming out, we don’t used them, no AC, plus it said it will be a no smoking room and it was an unbearable smell of tabaco, we even asked them to change our room.
- Caitlan (8/5): - Lovely property, comfy beds, got bigger towels and pillows when asked for, staff were always there to help, only thing was that I think the staff sit in the back room and smoke so the hotel smells of cigarettes and weed on occasion. Other than that I can’t complain, really beautiful location and room was perfect
- Anna (6/5): - noisy and every evening after cleaning the air in the room was very stale
- Zoe (10/5): - For a budget property you couldn’t fault this hotel. It was clean and the staff were very friendly. Good location as was walkable (within an hour) to all the things I wanted to see.
- juliette (10/5): - Nice
- Anna (6/5): - the hotel is very noisy during evenings and nights
- Richard (8/5): - You get what you pay for.
Pros: location, cleanliness.
Cons: lack of storage, towels are really bad. Bring your own.
- WILLIAM (8/5): - A decent economy hotel. The famous Paris attractions are pretty far if walking (but that was not the purpose of my stay) but the hotel is reasonably close to public transportation.
- Alice (8/5): - Cleaned, comfortable, safe and walkable in shopping areas.
- 827arelyp (8/5): Ok hotel - Really small bedroom. we booked a room for three, (one full bed and one twin) and the room barely fit one bed, the other bed was practically stuffed in. There are 3 outlets I the room, one next to te bathroom door and it doesn’t work two outlets that are incredibly hidden and you have to scavenge around to find them, one of them is up high by the tv, my husband needs a CPAP machine and it was very difficult to use it. No air conditioning.
- Angela (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a simple hotel but the beds were very comfortable and it had the amenities we needed. We especially appreciated the French breakfast served at acacia hotel (for an extra charge)
- Sylvie (6/5): - Basic small room that simply does the trick if you need a place to sleep.
- Namoiah (8/5): - I had a good stay at Acacia Hotel. The room was what I needed for my time in Paris. It was conveniently located near different Metro stations and buses. The concierge recommended some really good restaurants for dinner and bakeries for breakfast. I spent most of my time walking to see the different monuments and the location was important to find my way on my own. There is a market close-by and a Fransprix in front, which came in handy for last minute snacks and toiletries. The restaurant is located between two restaurants so it is a bit noisy outside but I slept through it. I didn't see an AC unit in the room but I didn't need it as it was a bit chilly at night. It's not a fancy hotel but it provided what I needed. You have to return your key every time you leave - you can't take it with you, which might be a bit annoying. But you get used to it!
- Hector (6/5): - There was no Air Conditioning, which was uncomfortable and there were not enough electrical plugs, one of which did not even work, so we needed to use the TV plug instead of watching TV, but the TV was not connected, so it would seem others had the same issue; other than that, the staff was very friendly, the hotel area walkable and nice, the subway is a few blocks away, which was convenient.
- 281pixies (6/5): Meh - Not a very good room, we booked a room for three (one couple one separate) and the room barely fit one bed, the other bed was practically stuffed in, two outlets that are incredibly hidden and you have to scavenge around to find them also no air conditioning. Other than that it was decent
- frederique (8/5): - Good location.
Goos value for the price.
- Avedis (10/5): - All over it was Good
- Richard (10/5): - This is a wonderful little hotel! It’s very close to the St-Ambroise Metro stop and in the midst of a non-touristy neighborhood. I hope a great stay there!
- Paul (8/5): - The rooms are very simple, but extremely clean with simple but well chosen decor. The staff were all extremely kind and helpful. Our window faced the courtyard, and every night there was someone in an apartment who was either talking loud with guests, playing music, or had their TV on really loud, and I didn't sleep get the best sleep. The sound would have been fine with the windows closed, but with very warm summer weather it was really warm in the room if we didn't have them open. If it were cooler and we would have felt comfortable with the windows closed, it would have been fine, so this probably isn't an issue during much of the year.
- staci (10/5): - Only complaints...very hot (no AC or fans) and incredibly loud all night until 3am or so, tues, wed, thurs, fri, sat nights. Had to have window open or we'd roast, but there was a party on the street with happy, loud shouting and yelling every night. Otherwise, clean room, small, but clean. Decent location, about ten minute walk to metro, very helpful and friendly staff.
- Kimberly Jane (8/5): - It was excellent for the price. I would definitely stay there again. Close to 3 metro stations and the 69 bus takes you to the heart of the city in 20-30 mins.
- Julie (10/5): - Great location to trains and lots of restaurants within walking distance. You can also walk to beautiful cemetery and walk most of the way to Eiffel Tower but you can hop on a bus. Friendly staff and quiet location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pleasant neighborhood. Helpful staff. Good value. Clean. Happy there was an elevator.
- Sandra (8/5): - We stayed seven nights at this property and really enjoyed it. The location is in a more residential area away from crowds and tourism. It’s close to metro stations and restaurants. The room could use a facelift but for two adult travelers looking for great accommodation at a good value this is the place. This is not a luxurious fancy hotel, but it did the job. I would return to this hotel.
- Alisa (4/5): - The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. The room was tiny but sufficient. The noise was insane and went all night long.
- Mark (8/5): - It was fine
- altin (8/5): - I needed a non expensive, clean hotel which will be walking distance (25-45 minutes) from the Louvre / Pompidow / Notredam) which I used only to sleep. This one satisfied my needs very well.
- aggiecat40 (10/5): Great Location - Affordable - Stayed for 8 nights. It was located in a very safe neighborhood with easy access to metro station and bus lines. Travellers dream, clean, safe and affordable. The room is very basic but met our needs in every way. Beds are comfortable and bonus is the windows open. Staff were all very friendly and helpful when help requested. We had a very early departure and there was no problem with our check out ----Will definitely stay here again.
- Javan (10/5): - The workers were super friendly and helpful.
- Kristen (2/5): Smells like cigarettes - The entire hotel smelled like smoke. We had cigarette burns on the comforter and on the night stands. The towels were incredible small and hard, we left after a night only because we couldn't leave earlier. It was one of the worst hotels I have ever been in.
- Judith (6/5): - Too tiny space
- Evgeny (6/5): - The hotel has a great location, and this only because of this I rate my experience as satisfactory. However, cleaness is not consistent, first two days of our stay it was pretty poor, other two days ok ( looks like it depends on staff in rota). Duvets were quite dusty, so when we were in room all of us had hay fever attack.
It is really disappointing, as hotel itself is in a great place, fair value, and just needs some efforts to rid of dust and maintain in satisfactory conditions
- Aya (8/5): - The room was very basic but it is located in a convenient location and price is unbeatable. It is in a residential area. There are a few supermarkets and restaurants. The metro access is good. The staff is friendly. I would use this hotel again if i would have a chance to visit Paris.
- Obi (8/5): - Very pleasant and friendly staff. Affordable property that serves the purpose: a place to rest after a long day of exploring the city. One could walk to some attractions. The walls transmitted a lot of other room noises as well as outside street noise.
- Rebecca Jane (8/5): - Location was good. Basic property, definitely a no frills but exactly what we needed. Our time and money are spent elsewhere in Paris. Was clean room. Only thing I’d change would be towels…about size of hand towel…and only one towel per guest….but it was fine
- Katrina (6/5): - Great price and fun location. The only problem I had was with the cigarette smoke. Even though I was in a non smoking room, the smoke came through the vents and under the door. But staff was friendly and the room was always cleaned thoroughly.
- samantha (10/5): - Cheap and cheerful , we needed a room cheap and close to where we needed to be , bed was comfy , made every morning and room cleaned , staff pleasant , would use again.
- Tatiana (4/5): - Convenient location within a few minutes' walk of several underground stations and bus, excellent selection of local cafes, restaurants and bakeries.
Staff friendly and helpful enough, but it has to be said the room reeked of cigarette smoke, day and night - it was very intense, even in the middle of the night and despite leaving the window open all day while we were out. Do not disregard and take this into consideration if considering booking.
All in all, you get what you pay for, and if it wasn't for the smell the experience would have been great.
- Laura (2/5): - We were glad that we only stayed for one night and it was terrible. The bedsheet and molleton were dirty with spots. also we found a dirty pillowcase under the molleton. The guy from the reception did not help us to change the bedsheet (because he was alone) so he gave us new bedsheet. we changed by ourself.
We do not recommend this Hotel at all, not even for one night!
I have pics to share. also is there a refund possible?
thx
- Brad Andrew (8/5): - Good value. Nice staff.
- Jeferson Alves (8/5): - Simple and clean, very good location.
- Juan (6/5): - Room was so small and out of date. It smells a little bit odd and there was no air conditioning.
- Dan (8/5): - the location was great, easy access to Metro and buses.
the room are on the small side.
- Yeongbae (8/5): - I stayed at the hotel for 7 nights. Overall, I had a good visit.
The room was on the third floor (4th floor in USA). The bed was big enough for me. There were a small table, a chair and some odd hangers.
The water pressure was great. There was plenty of hot water. The shower drained slowly during the first 4 days. After that, it drained quickly. The wifi worked consistently well.
I could smell cigarette frequently (and at times marijuana) when I was in my room. I think that it came from the staff smoking in the back room.
The staff was friendly. There were local bakeries, markets and a fruits stand in the area. Both métro stations St-Ambroise and Voltaire are near the hotel.
I recommend the hotel. It offers good value. I would stay at the hotel again.
- Aussie1960 (6/5): Beware the language barrier if you book directly! - We had 2 experiences where our bookings were messed up. We assumed was because of the language barrier.
There is no kettle/jug in the room or facility for boiling water in the hotel. Coffee is available at the paid breakfast. There is a supermarket opposite. Turning left & along is a Boulangerie with tables outside for coffee & pastry. Turning right from the hotel & along is Chez Collette a little cafe only open for lunch Monday to Friday. They only have one choice per day & dessert & ham & salad sandwiches with the best mayo. This is probaly the cheapest cafe in Paris. Get in early.
- Evone (4/5): - Service and property should 2 star
- Neritan (6/5): - Great location, easy access to metro and bus.
- coolCanadian2010 (6/5): Clean, basic hotel - Location was good, about a 7-8 minute walk from subway. Check in was easy, someone is at the desk 24hours. Room was clean and basic...looked pretty much like the pictures.
2 cautions - we had a room on the courtyard side...very loud from the people below (talking, laughing) until 3-4 am in the morning on Friday and Saturday nights
-only 1 plug in the room. If you are coming from North America and have a current convertor, it will heat up if you plug more than one thing into it. Borrow a hair dryer or flat iron from the front desk...they have both.
- Cindy (8/5): - This hotel is an excellent budget stay in a fantastic Paris neighbourhood, close to Metro lines, parks, and restaurants. I stayed at the end of September, 2022, and all three staff with whom I interacted were helpful and friendly. Despite what I read in other reviews, there was no smell of cigarette or cannabis smoke. My room on the fourth floor facing the courtyard was clean and quiet.
This is a very old building, and if you're expecting the New York Hilton, you're in for a disappointment. Some reviewers complained that the TV was small. If you came to Paris to sit in your hotel room and watch TV, I have a hot travel tip for you: Stay home. I'm sure your TV there is the perfect size for you. Yes, there was only one power point in the room, inconveniently located on the wall near the bathroom door, and unless your charging cable is a lot longer than mine, you can't charge your phone bedside. That wasn't a deal breaker for me. The wifi worked well. The blankets are old, the towels are small and rough like mine are when I hang them outside to dry, but they were clean and there was plenty of hot water. If I want huge bath towels, I'll pony up the cash for a different sort of hotel. This one was perfect for my needs.
I would stay here again any time I'm in Paris.
- Holly (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Pleasant room, comfy beds, friendly staff
- Debra (10/5): - Very basic travelers hotel. Clean. Extremely helpful and friendly staff even though I speak almost no French. Locked and safe. Close to M3 station. Bed was adequate. For this price in Paris, it is what I would expect
- Brianna Giselle (10/5): - My friend and I really liked how the area was safe. There isn’t a lot of tourists, definitely more locals. The night life is excellent but also quiet. There is no AC but you don’t need it. I would stay here again.
- Gloria (6/5): - Not the best and not the worst, in between.
- Michael (6/5): - The staff was friendly. The place was generally clean. The wifi worked just fine. The beds were uncomfortable. The pillows were the thinnest pillows I've ever seen and it was quite noisy.
Also, small item was that they say property is smoke free in description but thats definitely not the case. Opening windows aired out cigarette smell (thank you large parisian windows) pretty quick. So not huge issue. But shouldn't advertise as smoke free and then put ashtrays in ll the rooms.
- Steven (10/5): - The property was fine. The shower was nice. The beds were comfortable.
- Vivienne (8/5): Overnight stay on route through France - Very basic room but adequate for one night and spotlessly clean. Breakfast again was basic hot drinks/ orange juice/ cereal/ jams and one cheese.1 croissant and half baguette placed at each setting . Not a lot of choice but I had sufficient.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 👍
- Kulchershok (8/5): Clean, well-located and very reasonably-priced - This hotel is perfectly located for those who have no desire to stay in the tourist hotspots (I'm Parisian, so I am one of those people) but want to experience a great Parisian quartier, not far from the metro, some great bus lines (for example the 69). This lively neighbourhood is packed with great restaurants and cafés, as well as the Atelier des Lumières.
I had Room 34 on the 6th floor (there is a lift), which was surprisingly large and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, not too soft, and it was great to be able to open the windows and look out onto classic Parisian rooftops (and a crêpe chef plating up - yes, there's a crêperie on the next street). It's pretty basic - the towels are a bit stiff, there is no hairdryer - but the shower cubicle is generous and the wifi works well. Very good value for money. The only nuisance was that the door onto the street is locked after hours, so you have to ring the bell to get in. There was always someone to open the door, but ideally I prefer to have the freedom to come and go as I please.
- AdrianDeena (6/5): basic but good value - A good price for fairly basic but clean rooms - and yes, the towels are a bit stiff! Staff were very helpful and we would happily return. Rooms at the back are quieter.
Breakfast is more fun at Le Rochebrune bar, just 3 doors along.
- Clair (8/5): Small budget hotel - Small but friendly hotel. We didn’t buy breakfast so just slept there. Small room but fit for purpose. Only downside was they charged double the expected tax. I think perhaps they charged for 2 adults despite my daughter clearly being a pre-teen!
- CHUNG MAN IVAN (8/5): - Simple facilities for the room but having all necessary items to stay for the night. Friendly night reception staff.
- Stephen (8/5): - A good hotel in a good area for a decent price.
- Irfan (8/5): - Over all stay in this hotel was nice
- Napoleon (2/5): What in the world was that?! - I stay in a lot of hotels, in Europe, Asia, North Africa and USA. This is one of the worst, dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.. and for this price it was the worst by far. I was really astonished that a hotel could be so bad after paying almost $100 for a night. I understand it’s Paris but I could have definitely found a better, cleaner, more comfortable hotel for less, even in Paris.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - easy to find
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We had cleaned sheets, towels, WiFi, and continental breakfast. The staff was attentive and accommodating. Nice area, on busy street. It wouldn’t be bad if they replace the old comforters with an update set.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We have returned to Acacia because it is a pleasing, clean and quiet hotel within walking distance and easy transit to central Paris. The breakfast is tasty and convenient and the staff friendly and helpful. We will come again.
