Perfect location 1 min walk away from the mirador, trail down to the lake and many restaurants, cafes etc. Everything was 10/10.

- Kaylee (5/5): - The showers were hot
- Rosie (7/5): -
- Natalia (5/5): Regular. No regresaría.

- Amie (5/5): Weird place but comfy bed - Very big very comfortable bed. Hot water in the morning. Very close to the lake Staff seemed confused why we were there and confused everytime we asked a question. This extends to the whole town.
Only had hot water for the shower in the morning. Strange place with not very welcoming atmosphere.
- Amelia (10/5): - I highly recommend staying at this hostel and had a wonderful overall experience. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I had several questions and special requests during my stay, and they were always happy to help and went out of their way to make my stay more enjoyable. I would definitely choose to stay at this hostel again. N/A
- Natalie (6/5): It was a nice facility, a comfortable place to sleep but not much else. - The room was huge and beautiful, very clean and comfortable bed! Very cold water that never warmed up, and staff was not available or helpful unfortunately. The hostel is located right outside the gate so you will need to pay to get back into the park area. From what others said, this was not an uncommon experience in Quilotoa generally so just be aware.
Also, on Booking and on their front door it states that they accept cards, but they do not - so make sure to bring cash!
- Greg (6/5): Decent value for price in a town with few options. - Decent value. Limited options in town. Hard to communicate with staff. They do not speak English. Confusion about meals. Wood stove in room kept it warm on those cold nights at that elevation. Food service and communication.

In unser Zimmer kam wenig Wasser vom Regen.

- Alessandra (10/5): Consigliato - Posizione ottima, camera enorme con bagno privato, letto gigante e comodissimo.
Illuminazione ottima.
Acqua calda. Stufetta elettrica. Wifi ottimo.
Personale molto gentile. Colazione fantastica. Super consigliato. Nulla
Klare Empfehlung!
- Andrew (2/5): Awful. Suggest you stay elsewhere in Quilotoa. - Zero This is a very honest review.
The place looks run down and neglected.
The seating in the vast lounge area was filthy. The first floor area stank of wood smoke.
The room had plaster peeling off the wall.
There was no internet.
We cannot understand why any previous reviews found this place acceptable.
We paid on check in, saw our room and asked for our money back which they did.
- Aubree (8/5): Good place to stay - Comfortable room Nothing
- Susannah (7/5): A bit run-down but comfortable - We booked a “deluxe suite,” which came with a king size bed, fluffy pillows, and a cozy comforter, as well as our own bathroom and a wood stove in the room. The room was spacious and the stove heated it up to make it cozy. The women working at the hostel were friendly when they were around. The food from the restaurant/at breakfast was plentiful and good. There was no hot water, so no shower for us that night. Also the whole place felt a bit run-down and empty. There were only 3 other people staying there the night we were there (possibly because we were there during somewhat the off season?), and it felt a bit dead/abandoned.
- Iñiguez (9/5): -
- LINDA FERNANDA (10/5): - Atención y el Ambiente
- Marine (7/5): - Literie exceptionnelle.

- Eduardo (10/5): -
- Quinlan (10/5): - Absolutely loved this place. Beautiful rooms, beautiful hostel, and the wood fired stoves were a really nice touch.
Si buscas lujo, te has equivocado de sitio.
- ALIAKSANDR (6/5): -
- Stanislav (10/5): - Je zelo prostorno in čisto. Tudi lokacija je odlična.
- Juan Miguel (6/5): -
- Villa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zachary (9/5): Superb -
- Casey (10/5): Very nice hotel, very close to the hike and good food. - Cute little wood stoves, comfortable beds, big breakfast and really nice family running the place. It’s definitely cold, make sure to keep your stove full of wood, not their fault though.
- Ingrid (10/5): Perfect finale to our Quilotoa Loop trek - Staff made a warm wood-stove fire for us in our room before bedtime. Kept us nice and toasty. There's an enclosed sitting area/courtyard on second floor to enjoy sunshine when cold and windy outside. No dinner provided at this hosteria, but plenty of choices in town. Breakfast is included and was yummy and plentiful. A perfect location to catch buses back to Latacunga and Quito the next morning.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff, an excellent breakfast a huge room and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in Be warned, Quilatoa is very cold at night. Luckily the hotel was cosy and the bed covers were very warm.
- Hannah (7/5): Good - Huge, comfortable bed. Massive breakfast (honestly too much for us to eat)! Cold shower
- Hadar (10/5): Fantastic stay, highly recommended! - What a great place! We absolutely loved it, the room was spacious and clean, the bed was huge and comfy and the family who runs the place are the kindest people ever. Breakfast was also fantastic and the hostel is a short walking distance from the Quilotoa crater lake. Great value for money, Highly recommended!! Hot shower is a great bonus, but was a bit difficult to adjust
- Rene (9/5): The Price Made Me Feel Guilty - Big, comfortable bed and a heater. Great breakfast. An incredible value. The bathroom was freezing, although the water was plenty hot.
- Amir (9/5): Superb - Great location, nice hospitality Missing some light in the lobby
- Shaun (7/5): Good for the value. - Close to the crater & resturants. No heat, no hot water,
- Kylie (10/5): Magical! - Staff are lovely and accommodating. The most comfiest beds in Ecuador! Food is delicious. Only a short walk to the crater. Nothing to say here.
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natallia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hollie (10/5): Lovely room close to Quilotoa Lake - Spacious, clean room with a lovely large bed. Breakfast was lovely!
Just a couple of minutes walk to the lake
- Nika (6/5): Pleasant -
- Samantha (8/5): Very good - Lovely room, feather pillows and duvet which were super comfy and warm.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olivia (10/5): Value >>> price- amazing hosts. - María and her husband run the hotel. They were lovely from the beginning to the end. She is a very gifted chef and will cook delicious meals for you while you stay there.
Quilotoa itself seems to be going through a boom of people opening hostels and restaurants, we visited during low season and hence it seemed that the town was half empty. Prices are ridiculous cheap for what you can get. Our room had a king size bed, a little fireplace that warmed us through the night and a private bathroom with boiling water- everything that you can wish after a good day of hike. While in there we hiked Quilotoa rim, but also did the short hike to the bottom of the crater and back. All free hikes.
Highly recommended to visit and to stay in this hostal. It’s conveniently place right by the entry of the town.
- Narelleneville (1/5): Bad - We left and did not stay it was awful The hotel is completely run down, nothing like the pictures, seems abandoned and falling apart
- Ian (5/5): Passable - the staff were wonderful, the meal was typical and delicious for the area, and the actual room was clean and had an incredibly comfortable bed. The town is a tourist soulless tourist trap with hustle cutlure conveniently located in a location of incredible beauty. This hotel was empty, with a leaking roof and slowly falling into disrepair. There are no comfortable areas to lounge in but adequate for a nights rest. It was extremely expensive considering the value typically found in other areas of the Quilotoa loop and Ecuador.
- Anmol (9/5): Superb -
- Agustín (9/5): Great place to stay near Quilotoa Lake - The style, the staff, the food.
- James (9/5): Lovely room and food, breakfast was fruit, yogurt, bread and eggs. Staff were considerate - Great food and friendly staff Upstairs communal area could use some pillows and be made more comfortable
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - King deluxe room was beautiful. The glass bottle windows were lovely and the bed was super comfy - with feather pillows and duvet. The family are lovely but was hard communicating with them even in Spanish. Make sure you have cash as we were running out and it unnecessarily complicated things for us.
- Ned (10/5): Our Favourite Stay in Quilotoa, great family style hostel with everything you need - Beautiful building, great central space, rooms were comfortable and warm and the dinner and breakfast was delicious Nothing
- Bladimir (10/5): Exceptional - It's a really good accommodation. The breakfast and dinner are also quite good. Everything was okay:)
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Very welcoming hosts, good meals, beautiful old building, close to the bus pickup, warm fires in the rooms.
- Nancy (8/5): Very good - It’s very pretty, quirky. It’s so very cold there with insufficient heaters.
- Rick (5/5): Passable -
- Jackson (7/5): Good -
- Daniel (10/5): Amazing, clean and cozy! - Cozy Great place
- Simon (6/5): Pleasant - Food was good Hotel states credit card acceptance, but in reality the owner demanded cash. Hotel should take the Visa and Mastercard lables off the doors and web site.
- Mary (7/5): Lovely stay - Really comfortable beds and loved the fire in the room. The family who run it were really friendly and helpful and let us check in early. It's in a great location right at the edge of town.
- Andrey (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (10/5): The best. - AMAZING GUESTS
- Etienne (7/5): Almost great! - The family of staff were kind and we loved their attention. The rooms are top notch as advertised. No hot water. We arrived hypothermic cycling all day from Lasso, and they tried everything to get the hot water going, we even tried another room without success. The place is a gorgeous shell. Lots of work went into the design but it isn’t run professionally.
- Nicola (4/5): Wouldn't recommend - Chose it only because on my travel guide there was written it reminded the Shining hotel No hot shower.
At my arrival the room was full of dead flies on the ground.
Only underaged working there.
On booking it says it's possible to pay by card but they charge more to do so.
- Jean-philippe (9/5): Great place to end your quilotoa hike. - Great beds, good food, and nice fire place in room! No view, less accessible water refill station.
- Rodel (9/5): Lovely hostel - Nice hotel/hostel with character especially upstairs. Rooms are roomy, beds are big and clean. We even have a wood burning stove in our room which made the night warm and cozy. Be careful with the smoke though. Downstairs is very spacious with lots of arts (for sale) created by the hotel workers (they could be the hotel owners). Unfortunately, we didn't get to interact with them much coz we speak a little Spanish. Dinner and breakfast were sumptuous. And it's only a 10 minute walk to the entrance to the lake. Cold shower. Brrrr... WIFI didn't work that night for the entire village which wasn't their fault.
- Matthew (10/5): Wonderful! - Fantastic all round and an amazing location. Lovely dinner and the same quality at breakfast. Really comfy big beds. Good showers with really hot water and log burners in the room for the cold nights. Highly recommend and I don’t understand why this place isn’t more highly rated.
- Noémie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Agathe (8/5): Ideal location for Quilotoa laguna - At only a 5 mn walk from the "Quilotoa mirador".
Nice hosts, available.
Quite basic amenities but we knew about it (the fact that the heating is replaced by a fireplace prepared by the host and to be handled by us was part of the "adventure").
Good dinner included in the reservation. Furniture in the common area quite old.
Be prepared to get cold at some point (no heating in the bathroom).
- Ragoner (10/5): 👍 - Nice breakfast
Gut value for the money
Hot water in the shower Towels were strange
- David (4/5): I’m sorry to say I I don’t think we’d stay there again. - Very cool dining and social area. The place LOOKED great.
The family running the place was super nice. Really sweet and helpful. After a trek through the Andes, I sure wanted a hot shower and cold beer. Water was Luke warm at best. The mini fridge with the beer wasn’t plugged in. Really cold at night. No bath mat. Outlet in shabby condition; not even close to flush against the wall. Wood stove was nice while we were awake, but when we woke up in the mother of the night cold and was cold in the morning…not good.
- Kevin (8/5): Beautiful room, meals included were ok, some rooms have stove some don't -
