- sunnyc1135 (2/5): We booked taj swarn with lots of expectations but unfortunately the stay wasn’t up to the mark , rooms was average for 1 - We booked taj swarn with lots of expectations but unfortunately the stay wasn’t up to the mark , rooms was average for 14k INR, body wash, shampoo bottles were empty , washroom was very average as well Only saviour was food which was including the service Honestly speaking , after this we stayed at Holiday INN at 8k INR per night and the quality of rooms were way better and clean. kids room was under renovation , i mean who does that during the peak tourist season of Christmas and new year Totally disappointed with Taj swarn, have stayed with so many Taj group of hotels but never had such below par experience that we had at Taj swarn Total waste of money , never coming back again neither will recommend anyone
- Cruiser51040911906 (4/5): Issues upon issues - Issues upon issues. During breakfast, eggs were undercooked, next day, our eggs were giving to someone else. Service was not best. Thereafter once we complained, got their attention. Meanwhile after our breakfast, went to room and large puddle of water in the bathroom leaking from top of ceiling. They managed to give us another room however the inconvenience of changing to another room was hassle as we had to pack and unpack all our belongings.

Being a platinum member with other international hotel chains, I was looking forward to this first stay with Taj. but it didn't turn out that great. The only thing worth appreciation is the quality of food. But the room quality, bathroom, the towels and amenities were like a simple three star hotel.
- sanjaypC4783FB (10/5): Spectacular Service at Taj Swarna, Amritsar - I have travelled the world and have experienced many great customer service experiences, however, nothing compares to the absolute delightful experience we had at the Taj Swarna, Amritsar. A very special shout out to Mr. Inderpal Bedi ( Director of Operations), Mansi ( Special Events coordinator) and Ajay ( Sous Chef). A Family member became very sick while we were staying at the Hotel. Mr. Bedi and Mansi were assisted us every step of the way by being physically present at the Room and helping out in so many ways with many other staff members involved. We had to shift the family member to the local hospital in the ICU. Mr. Ajay made sure we had packed lunches for all the family members while we were visiting the hospital. What really touched my heart was that our family member needed blood and Mr. Bedi sent an email to his entire staff at the hotel and two of the hotel staff members showed up at the hospital to donate their blood. This is way beyond customer service. They did not treat us like customers but like family. Very very grateful to everyone involved in assisting our family member. God bless Sanjay Papa

- al0kim (10/5): Truly a royal birthday stay! - As someone who had previously never stayed at Taj, but heard about the experience, Taj Swarna - Amritsar truly did not disappoint. When we arrived, we were greeted by Savreen & Komal, who helped us become comfortable with our stay. I desperately wanted my hair done, and my mom wanted a spa experience. Thus, we ventured to the J Wellness Spa & Niu & Nau salon, where both Rajan & Anita did their magic! Truly experts in their craft. In the evening, Sandip served us delicious food, even making pasta of my choice through the kitchen! It was excellent. Day 2 arrived, and the breakfast room was alive. We were served by Samrat, who did absolutely everything he could to make our meal wonderful. He even went out of his way to arrange a takeaway breakfast for our next day travel journey. From there, Chef Laalu came forward and made the day even sweeter. He went out of his way to make a halwa for my grandmother, who was celebrating her birthday. It was so beyond sweet! Finally, upon returning from our trip to the Golden Temple, our room was decked out by Jashan & Pankaj from housekeeping, who created a birthday surprise! My grandmother was elated. Overall, my stay at Taj Swarna is one I’ll remember for many years to come, and it’s because of the service, kindness, and warmth that’s palpable in every corridor.

Amenities are excellent, leaving nothing more to be desired. The food was absolutely delicious with a great variety to choose from. The staff at the property deserve special appreciation for their warm hospitality. Everyone was extremely helpful and ensured we had a seamless experience. A special mention to the housekeeping team for their attention to detail, and to Aman at the restaurant, who stood out for his professionalism and personal connect. Everything was upto the mark, only issue was with WiFi, for which the room was to be changed, but it was resolved. It was a pleasant stay.I informed Gautam at the reception. - nakulsharma (2/5): Not worthy of a Taj - I had opted for a king bed during booking, but i got twin beds. When i got to the room and asked to be moved to a room with a king bed. I was told no poont blank, and only given the option on joining the 2 beds. I was told no other room was available, which is surprising to me since this was a 200+ room property. I expected better from Taj, but i was let down that you guys didnt even try to accommodate a client request.

- Chippy1Essex (8/5): Lovely hotel but ........ - What a lovely hotel! Very clean and in a good location. The foyer has the wow factor when you walk in. IStaff in the bar were friendly and I loved the fact the barman remembered what I drank only after one visit. A mention must be made to a waitress who was in the Chinese restaurant on our first night. I am sure she realised we were tired after a long day travelling and helped with our meal choices which were delicious. A trip to the Chinese restaurant on site is a must. The choice of food at breakfast was impressive and was cooked to order. However, I am sad to say that the experience in one of the shops in the foyer left us with mixed feelings about the hotel. On our last day I went into the shop. The attention was overpowering (although I appreciate that is their style). Initially a young girl was serving me but another assistant soon took over. There was no time to think or make decisions before she went on to showing me something else. I was adamant I was only looking at bags. I am certain about the price of the bags but because there was a constant barrage of trying to add further items to my purchase I did not check how much I was charged. I admit this was my mistake. I used two email addresses that I was able to locate on the internet to make contact with the hotel but to date these emails have not been acknowledged. I really do not want to think this was an intentional ploy to charge me over and above what it should have been. I said from the beginning that I was leaving that morning so did they take a chance of overcharging me and taking advantage of the fact that I would not realise this until I was home!!!!! So if you do decide to shop in the hotel - make sure you check your bill. Better still don't shop.

Overall, it was a great stay.I mentioned the staff name like a chef lalu, simi, aman, Gautam, rhythm, Housekeeper Harpreet and inderjeet, such a nice behaviour all of guys and provide the excellent service thanks to all.This hotel has a unique vibe, which is amazing. Concierge said for hotel car and return £26 for 10 min drive. Or £12 one way. Must have been a Rolls Royce . Said other taxi would take 30 mins to come even though loads in the area. We arranged our own for £5.50 return. Tea is expensive in hotel also

Good choices at breakfast. Convenient location for visiting the amazing Golden Temple. We visited as a couple as part of a luxury tailor made tour of North India. We had visited another Taj hotel and this was much better.
- amansr (10/5): Best Hotel in Amritsar - This was our second visit to The Taj Amritsar and we were blown away by how good this hotel is. From the ground staff at the entrance to the lobby, restaurant and house keeping staff, everyone was excellent. The duty manager, Gautam made sure our stay went without any hiccups. Sandeep at concierge organized our travel for us and was always there to answer any questions for us. Jatinder was always welcoming to the restaurant in the mornings and evenings. A big shout out goes to Ajay Sharma who was by far the best chef we have ever had the pleasure of meeting, he made sure our food was tasty and served quickly. What a gentleman! Sikander and Muktiar made sure we were well looked after in the restaurants and remembered our regular order and room number. Our daily driver, Gursewak Singh was brilliant. He made sure we got to our destinations on time and was very experienced in handling the roads in Punjab. The hotel has everything you'd want, the pool and spa are 5* and the restaurants have the best food. Easy access to the center of Amritsar, along with Sri Darbar Sahib. We look forward to returning again soon.

- moraira (8/5): A disappointment for a Taj Hotel - We have stayed in a number of Taj hotels, and this presented more problems than others Our superior room was spacious, but lacked anything welcoming. No flowers, no fruit, no biscuits. Oddly no hotel services directory, just a QL code which took me to an advertising page which tried to get me to download an app for an unrelated product. When I found a very small link to skip this , I was faced with another advert for an unrelated product. I went to reception and it took two receptionists and the duty manager some five minutes to get the online directory. This is corporate bean counters gone mad in cost cutting To access the pool one must sign a waver saying even if they kill you, then your “heirs” have no right to sue them. We then found that at night 50% of the pool lights were out of action and you could quite easily have killed yourself in the dark They closed the bar one night for a group, and individual customers took second place. It was difficult to get a drink, and when we did it took over thirty minutes to arrive, and to sign the bill proved impossible after waiting a further ten minutes at the desk Breakfast is good, but the service non existent. We had to order our own eggs, get our own coffee which was only available in paper cups All in all it does not have the sharpness that I expect from a Taj hotel
- discovermore (10/5): A Welcome Respite - This is a great hotel, reliably Taj and an oasis in a bustling Amritsar. I arrived for two nights off long international flights, got in a few hours before the official check-in time, was quickly upgraded and accommodated, managing to grab some mid-day sleep before heading to the Atarri-Wagah border ceremony. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained and I slept well. The lobby and shared areas are spacious, welcoming and beautiful. The breakfast buffet was wide in variety, the service responsive and the setting very pleasant. The concierge was very helpful in organizing my city tour and airport drop. If there were any surprises, it was at breakfast where it took about 20 minutes after opening to be fully staffed and functioning, also one day there was a ceiling water leak and a significant shower from 4 or 5 meters up near the coffee stations and kitchen doors, yet no immediate remedy with the staff walking around it and guests left to navigate and not slip. If front line staff make the difference, and they do, it was Bhumika at Reception, Sandeep at Concierge and Gurkirat who stood out. I’d be back in a flash.

From the superb staff service to excellent food this was an oasis from the busyness of Amritsar. We stayed in one of the Taj Club rooms, which gives you access to the Club Lounge, this was a large and comfortable room on a higher floor. We enjoyed complimentary drinks and small plate food every evening in the Lounge this we thought was very good value and worth the extra price ( a big thank you to the gentleman who looked after us at the Lounge, we forgot his name but he really made our time there very pleasurable), also a shout out to The Chinese Room restaurant we enjoyed an excellent meal with wonderful food and service.

The experience of interacting with the concierge, with the front desk, of staying in the room, and of the meals - all were consistently excellent. Room: When we checked in we didnt like the view from the room we got, so the front office readily offered us another room on a higher floor (and that was an upgrade). Concierge: We used their car extensively to visit Wagah border and Golden Temple, and also for pick up and drop from airport. Food at Grand Trunk: The food was excellent (except one of the dinners was average). The breakfast had so many options, and was delicious, Lobby: The hotel is clean, rooms are comfortable and well lit by sunlight, and the best thing is the airy, well lit lobby. Garden: Their garden is an excellent, peaceful space to enjoy a quiet hour or two, I dont remember most of the names of the staff I interacted with except two - one was Balwant, I think, who was the driver who drove us around, and he was very cordial and warm. The other is Simi, at the Grand Trunk restaurant who was also very warm and cordial. All the staff (dont remember their names) at the cafeteria was very cheerful & attentive to all guests . Our compliments to the Taj Swarna team for running the hotel in a superior fashion.

- KAYSANT (10/5): CARING HOTEL - I and brother took our elderly mum to visit Golden Temple and stayed at this hotel. We received exceptional service from the moment we arrived at the hotel. All staff very helpful as my mum is in a wheelchair and in restaurants made sure it was easy for us to access to our table for breakfast and dinner. Food was always freshly cooked and delicious. Room was clean , big and had tv shower etc. Easy to get taxis to Golden temple and to town . Would definitely stay here again with family when visiting India. Amazing hotel and excellent service received from all staff and management.

They welcome you with Arti tikka and they offered me very delicious butter milk, which my family liked so much. The room was very nicely decorated by the staff.
