Guest Reviews
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay here. Good locations to restaurants in Bolivar and historic Harper’s ferry (uphill on the way back). The host supplied a nice breakfast and asked for choices in advance. The house is a rustic and getting up to the loft area is interesting. Downstairs bed was better than the one in the loft.
- Evan (10/5): - Nice quiet location that is walkable to the main part of town. Breakfast was easy and convenient. The property is charming and rustic. We really enjoyed our stay.
- James (10/5): - The place was perfect and situated about 4 fifths of a miles from the heart of Historic Harpers Ferry. Breakfast was good.Bolivar Heights, Antietam and Gettysburg battlefields are all within an hours drive for Civil War history buffs.
- Gerald (10/5): - What a beautiful experience. The suite was very nice, clean and comfortable. The owner reached out to offer his help in locating hiking trails and for whatever I needed. I didn’t take him up on the offer but it was greatly appreciated. I’d recommend anyone visiting the area to stay there.
- Lindsey (10/5): - The owners were amazing! Whenever we had a problem or wanted a recommendation they answered quickly. The house was adorable and had everything we needed.
- Jackie (10/5): - The owners are the sweetest. Easy communication and great breakfast options included!
- karen (8/5): - Did not get an email on where to park BUT when I called, Nancy was quick to return my call and explain parking. It is also not a true bed and breakfast as breakfast is dropped off the day before you arrive and you need to cook/ heat it up yourself. It felt more like an Air BnB. The room itself was clean and it was very cozy. The pond and sitting area outback was lovely. We would totally go back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Best bed & breakfast for the service, communication, space. Thank you for a relaxing weekend!
- Daniel (8/5): - The facility is quite small, even for 2 adults. There were ants on the counters. The provided breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. Nicely decorated.
- Lynette (6/5): - These folks are very good communicators and the location is great. The property itself is rather run down and the front steps are certainly not up to code. Very tight inside. Okay for younger travelers but not for older folks.
- Emma (10/5): - Lily Garden Bed & Breakfast was lovely! Breakfast was delicious, decor was amazing, and the property was safe, quiet, and clean. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Harpers Ferry. Only about 10 minutes walk from the main part of the historic district. The host was absolutely wonderful, communicative, and friendly.
- Ava (10/5): - This was our 2nd time staying, and the area is excellent, the rooms are perfect for a small group of people who enjoy antique style and cottage esque houses. Not to mention the service is always awesome. it snowed about 6 inches and the owner came out and shoveled during and after the storm as well as kept up with salting. Over all great time
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy getaway - Cozy, quiet, private stay. Hosts were communicative and very helpful. Would recommend!
- Steven (10/5): - I enjoyed the rustic experience of being in a barn. The barn had lots of wooden paneling. The little pond and chairs outside were nice to sit and read. Most importantly, the location was close to hiking trails and restaurant. The owner was very quick to respond to texts and offer recommendations.
- Amy (10/5): - Such a lovely place in a great location! Very
- Mary (10/5): - Lily's Garden was a great place to spend a few days of peace and quiet. The Trundle suite is cozy but had everything we needed. The Trundle suite is the lower level but we had no issues with noise from the upstairs unit. Lily's is out the top of the hill in Harper's Ferry. There is a sidewalk to town for access the restaurants. Shawn was very responsive to our questions and provided us with lots of options for dinner and activities.
- Michael (10/5): A lovely bed & breakfast in Harpers Ferry - A lovely bed and breakfast, with all the creature comforts we needed. Harpers Ferry is a lovely place and this is a lovely place to enjoy it.
- John (10/5): - I stayed in the Trundle suite which was very comfortable. Full sized refrigerator and generous breakfast portions. Had everything I needed and a great location in walking distance to Old Town Harpers Ferry, Bolivar, Bolivar Bakery, Kelly's Farm Kitchen, and The Barn.
- Katherine (10/5): Adorable loft close to everything - Adorable and plenty of room! Excellent communication. Convenient location within walking distance of everything in town. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!
- Tori (10/5): - Loved it! Would totally stay again.
- William (10/5): - The Lily Garden B&B has a literal lily pond garden right behind the repurposed barn which encloses the actual rooms. The Carriage House room which we rented was great - bigger than a hotel room with lots of local flavor, but was also clean and functional. Owners live next door and are responsive to needs. Local area has very few restaurants or grocery stores, but the proprietors provide some food for free included in the price of the room. It was a welcome amenity. Overall, it was a very convenient location at a good price point!
- Matthew (10/5): - A beautiful suite with convenient access to Harpers Ferry! Accommodating owners who really want you to enjoy your time there.
- Ava (10/5): - really lovely place to stay, i loved the contactless check in and out. the room and kitchen where decorated beautifully and clean, had everything one would need. also it’s just up the hill from the town and trails, so a lovely walk. the only thing i would ask would be a deadbolt on the front door for added safety as the bottom lock isn’t for locking. but over all would highly recommend
- Nancy (10/5): - This was a very fun old barn to stay in! Loved the area, the house and the breakfast provided! Highly recommend
- Kirk (10/5): - We stayed in the upstairs apartment in the Carriage House. It was really quaint and cozy. Everything was clean, the hosts were thoughtful, had everything set up for, and were easy to communicate with even as they respected our privacy. Lovely place to chill in the evening, and if you're looking to see Harper's Ferry and/or hike the many trails in the area, you can't beat the location. Would gladly stay again.
- Nancy (10/5): - Great for a quick weekend away
- William (10/5): Cozy and convenient in Harper's Ferry - What a great, cozy place to stay in Harper's Ferry. Our suite was spacious with a very practical kitchen. The hotel staff took our breakfast order and had it waiting in the room for us when we arrived. The yard has a nice swing which we used in the evening. This place is walking distance from Harper's Ferry lower town; however, walking back is uphill so take that into consideration if you're walking into the history area. I would recommend this place to friends and would definitely stay there again.
- Ann (10/5): - The furnishings were of exceptional quality and very comfortable. All that could be needed was provided. The host quickly answered all questions and brought over an abundance of breakfast food!
- Gail (10/5): - I Loved the peace environment.
- Joakim (10/5): - What an excellent place this is. The location is perfect for those, like myself, who come into Harpers Ferry by train. Close to the historical center, nearby Bolivar and the Appalachian Trail connector. Shawn, who runs the tiny operation, is attentive, helpful and knows the area and its history very well.
The room is cozy and was perfect for my three days writing and walking retreat.
- Marc (10/5): - V
- Donald (10/5): Such an adorable place to stay! - Such an amazing experience! Nancy and Shawn were incredibly hospitable! The accommodations were just darling! We will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing - We booked our 4 night stay 6 months in advance for a wedding. The property was not as reviewed-manager stated it was shabby chic. Shoddy workmanship, worn linens-towels & sheets & basically converted old garage. Very apologetic that check-in info not sent as promised, so no way to enter property-after 20 mins waiting in car on dark, cold night with light rain & prolonged travel from Europe finally given access. No full length mirror, no closet or hangers for 3 hooks on wall & cramped with old furniture and hardly any space to move around. Food left in fridge as promised was only positive feature of this property. Price way too much for what was provided. They did offer a future free stay, but as we live on west coast and we’re only here for wedding not realistic! Would not have booked this if reviews had been realistic!!!
- Helen (10/5): Loved It - Beautiful suite! Walking distance from the Amtrak station, close to shops, restaurants, and hiking trails.
- Kevin (10/5): Highlight of out trip! - Staying at Lily Garden was the highlight of out trip to Harpers Ferry! The suite was very well equipped, super cozy and breakfast was delicious! The perfect place to relax after hiking the hills around the area.
- Gregory (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable, quite, conveniently located to hiking, restaurants, and to local museums. Thank you for a great weekend!
- Christine (10/5): - Lovely lily pond to have coffee by or enjoy the sunset. Close to lower Harpers Ferry for restaurants. Loved it!
- Sean (8/5): Wonderful suite while visiting Harpers Ferry - Great space and location (about 0.5 miles from lower historic HF, easy access to Appalachian trail, quiet (no train horns), other sights). The carriage suite was very comfortable; we really liked the bed. The suite comes with a full kitchen which is great, if you plan to stay for a few days. The outdoor space was also nice with a relaxing pond right in front of the porch. My only two recommendations: include a regular coffee maker/grinder and hot breakfast option - we read that they used to have a local restaurant deliver hot breakfast, which would’ve been a nice option.
- Rae E (8/5): - We stayed in the Trundle Suite. Absolutely adorable! The only slight inconvenience was the heating. A space heater is provided but I have a quirky attitude towards space heaters. That’s a me issue!
- Tina (10/5): Nice little get away - Nice location and easy to walk down town. The stay was great. The bed was so comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay in Harper's Ferry. Walkable to the National Park and other area attractions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place in an interesting, historic town
- William (10/5): Amazing property! - I really don't think I have enough superlatives to describe the suite. We stayed two nights in Harpers Ferry in the 'Carriage House Suite.'
The owners communicated with us early on and, because of the pandemic restrictions, they provided us with the ingredients to make our own breakfast. The suite (really, an incredibly comfortable one bedroom apartment with a second bed on a loft atop a sturdy iron ladder suitable for kids) had an extremely well equipped kitchen, so we made our own breakfasts in the morning.
The sitting area was large with a separate dining area--I've been a guest at a friend's apartment which was smaller. And the bedroom was the darkest I have ever experienced in my life; dark rooms used for developing film don't come darker.
All in all it was an amazing property, one we will definitely return to if we ever go by Harpers Ferry again.
- Timothy (10/5): Lovely place for a romantic weekend! - My wife and I loved our stay here! The regularly scheduled breakfast delivery to our suite was an awesome free perk, and for the one morning when that wasn’t an option, Shawn, who is a great B&B host, prepared and delivered a custom-made breakfast the night before. The carriage house suite itself is lovely with eclectic old-fashioned decorations and is well-equipped with a full kitchen. The place is also easily walkable to Jefferson Rock and the main tourist sites in town. We’d stay here again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not your average B&B - A different experience. We didn't speak to a single person on the property during our 2 night stay. Breakfast is served by a diner a mile down the road that you can have delivered or go to to eat. We decided to eat at the diner. Food was good, room was nice.
- Wayne (10/5): Perfect B&B in Harpers Ferry. - Great stay at lily Garden. We loved everything about the carriage house, especially the bed, very comfortable. All the little extras from the assortment of coffee to the delicious breakfast. Will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area and will surely recommend it to all our friends.
- William (10/5): - We really enjoyed our time. Walking into town was easy and we are looking forward to returning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the space and ability to walk to everything. The ladder to the loft is a little steep. The owner was very nice and accommodating to what we needed
- SheilaH (10/5): - This is a great place to stay! Shawn is very attentive, helpful & polite. We had a delicious breakfast delivered every morning. If you sit out back during the evening you can enjoy the sound of the fountain at the little pond! There was a bullfrog there when we visited which made the experience even more relaxing. I definitely would not hesitate to plan another visit:-)
- Robin (10/5): Cozy B&B in Historic Harpers Ferry - We enjoyed our stay at Lily Garden Bed & Breakfast. It was exactly what we expected and more. Quaint accommodation within walking distance to Lower Harpers Ferry, dining, shops and hiking. Delicious breakfast delivered each morning. It was very cozy with everything we needed. Shawn was friendly and able to offer suggestions to activities and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.
- Jeffrey (8/5): Lily Garden B&B - Great location, and very comfortable room, very spaces. The loft should be considered for young people only, but it was not an issue on our trip. I would have loved to see the garden in bloom, very pleased with the stay.
The breakfast provisions is actually with a local Café, they will deliver or you can dine in, the food was excellent and the service just as good. They even have fresh mini donuts on the weekends.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Walking distance to downtown so no parking fees to pay.
Bathroom needed some cleaning.
Quaint little space.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Location, Friendly Owners - My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVED our stay at Lily Garden. The owner is so amazingly friendly, the suite is very cozy and adorable and the location is just off the main strip of Harper's Ferry. I would recommend this place to any couple looking for a weekend getaway. We were in the downstairs suite which is perfect for two people (sharing a bed).
- Judy (10/5): - Very nice place and good location. Loft bedroom not very user friendly, but you could overlook it with all of the other positive things about the place.
- patrick (8/5): - Room was very small but quaint and comfortable. Breakfast was furnished from a local cafe and it was OK. It was near town and the attractions and not far from the Antietam battlefield. I have no idea what other accommodations in the area cost but it seemed a little high for the size.
- Chasity (10/5): Charming stay in a wonderful town! - We fully enjoyed our stay at the Lily Garden. Shawn was very quick and helpful with our reservation when we ran into a small issue. He was there to greet us when we arrived with a friendly hello and a recommendation for dinner as well as scenic walking directions. The B&B is full of charm and all of the amenities needed for a night away. It was very quiet which was an unexpected bonus as we were very tired after a weekend of backpacking. It is also in a great location for walking and enjoying the beautiful town of Harpers Ferry. Moments from the AT and so many historical landmarks. We hope to come back when we have more time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): God price, great location! - Our trundle suite was cozy and comfortable enough for the two of us. Located right in Harper's Ferry close to the border of Bolivar, it is conveniently close to just about everything - the Lower Town, Storer College, etc. for sightseeing and many of the fine restaurants in the area.
Sean, the owner, was very friendly, hospitable and attentive to our requests.
