Nick (2/5): Terrible. - Booked this hotel. Showed up and they had given our room out to someone else. They said “sorry”. Horrible service. 3 hours later I booked into another hotel.
Verified traveler (4/5): Great location, terrible management company - The apartment itself was ok - cheaper, outdated furnishings, walls were marked up heavily and it looked very well lived in (like a typical rental unit)- but the space was clean and spacious. The location is unbeatable for the price - right in the pearl district. Pelican Management was TERRIBLE. Emailed and called incessantly every day a month before we arrived asking for a $1000 deposit and for me to pay in full upfront even though we booked on Expedia "book now, pay later" with a note that said pay at the hotel (even Expedia stated that we had been confirmed and nothing further was required). Poor communication within the company - no one knew the other had called the day before, no notes were taken. I ended up NOT giving them their upfront payment or deposit and was told it was ok for me to pay on arrival - only because I insisted that it was inappropriate and NOT stated on the booking. When we got there, the representative hid upstairs and wouldn't come down until we paid in full. They also charged us over $150 in extras on arrival including a "cleaning fee" etc, even though on the listing it stated that everything was included in the price. They justified it by saying that in the fine print it stated that the pricing was subject to change etc.. VERY shady. We were told this unit was ADA accessible for wheelchairs and while it was bigger, there were no handheld shower heads, space under the beds, and the rooms were too small for wheelchairs. Will not return.
Verified traveler (8/5): A Nice & Relaxing Vacation - The suite was very comfortable, amazing, and very clean. Its location is very convenient to many restaurants, Starbucks, and Powell's. The bed was very comfortable. I may buy a memory foam for my own bed at home. I slept very well. There was once when the false fire alarm came on which was very load and someone spoke into the intercom saying that it was a false alarm -- that was weird. The bathrooms don't have enough counter space -- there was a toilet, shower, and tiny sink with hardly enough room to put anything on except for the hand soap. There should be some sort of shelves in the bathroom to hang your clothes during shower, and make -up counter, etc. The shower head spits out water. The stream isn't strong at all and that result in you showering longer than you usually do. Plus, the shower never gets hot, it's always at warm when you've turned the knob all the way to hot. It's sort of frustrating especially when it's very cold outside and you just want to take a hot shower. In addition, whenever the shower is turned on, there's a sound of like jackhammer pipe about to explode. It's very loud. The bedrooms do not have mirrors, so you would need to use the one small mirror in the bathroom for everything -- putting make-up on, assessing how you dress in the morning, checking stains on your face, etc. What I love about the place is the free wi-fi and Netflix and Hulu. There is a wonderful balcony that overlooks the street, and there's always a nice, cold breeze.

Edward (10/5): December 7-10, 2017 - Location, Apartment and staff were AMAZING! The apartment was beautiful, clean and comfortable. I stayed with my friend and we each our own bedroom AND BATHROOM! not to mention kitchen and laundry. We were there for a National Fencing Tournament to make the USA Team and this was the PERFECT place to be! I'm definitely staying here next time I'm in Portland and going to use Pelican if they have properties in my other destinations.

Robyn (10/5): Perfect location in quiet building - Even before our visit, the customer service with Pelican Stays was topnotch. Though, I would warn you they are based out of the Netherlands so communicating by email is preferable to long distance phone calls! The building itself was a lovely boutique condo building right in the Portland Pearl District. The staff at the building as well as the Pelican Stay rep who met us where very kind and professional. The apartment was huge, clean and well supplied. There was a kitchen with almost everything you need - we would suggest they add a wine bottle opener to their utensils, though! Comfortable beds and pillows and the use of American Netflix (we came from Canada) was awesome. We stayed for 5 days and this was far preferable to a hotel. Would definitely stay with this company again.

Mai (10/5): Nice condo in downtown close to everything you nee - Very nice condo that was brand new which was nice. I wish there were an extra set of keys and checkout was a little more clear that they wanted the door left unlocked. I also wish there were a few more blankets. Overall very nice people to work with and it was a safe place to stay and very friendly people. I would definitely return again if I had the chance. Be prepared to pay for parking which is part of city living anyway. I loved it thank you.

Macy (10/5): Beautiful 2-bedroom condo in Pearl District - We had a great experience staying at this location. The condo was very spacious and clean, and was located in a very trendy building in a great location. There is a Whole Foods located across the street, and the area has hundreds of restaurants within walking distance. Our "host", Rebecca was very friendly and helpful.
Leslie (10/5): Loved our apartment in the Pearl district - We had an amazing trip! The apartment was so inexpensive but it was right in the heart of the Pearl district and was just gorgeous! The views were amazing and the service was even better. We got in early and asked to check in early so our kids could take a nap and they were so accommodating and let us check in 3 hours early! Rebecca was so friendly and showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment. We had one small issue and I needed to text her about and she responded right away and checked up on the issue afterwards as well. We loved staying here and our friends that stayed with us did as well. We will definitely be coming back!!
