Guest Reviews
- Andrew (8/5): - Good location and very helpful staff.Food was excellent. There were a number of private parties connected with the parades. This was fine but meant the hotel bars were packed. My room was fine but “down a couple of wee steps” turned out to be down ten steep steps.
- William (9/5): Brilliant staff. Excellent food . Location ok for a base to see other parts of County Down - Very friendly and helpful staff. I was there with my parents and they had left chocolates for my mums birthday in the room. The food in the bar and room service was fantastic , can not fault it at all! Location is ok for travelling to nearby tourist areas but the town of kilkeel is very quiet with nothing much to do.
- Susan (9/5): Very comfortable. Good room temperature. All staff extremely helpful and friendly. - The lovely staff. The food in the restaurant. Quiet. Not enough sockets in our room. Shower pressure low.
- Cherlene (10/5): -
- Ferreira (10/5): - The breakfast bap was delicious
- Rebecca (10/5): Brilliant hospitality - Everyone in the hotel were exceptional. We arrived really late that evening and the staff there were so helpful they ordered us food as it was after 10pm when we arrived. The next day we were late checking out and the staff were so helpful. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in.
- Heather (10/5): -
- Donna (8/5): - The receptionist was very attentive and helpful. When she saw we were traveling with a toddler she put us in a quiet room not to be disturbed by music. Food was lovely in the bar for dinner. Staff were lovely overall.

Food choice is great and excellent value.

- Anthony (10/5): - The history, cosy atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff; all combined to impress me from check-in to check-out.
I slept soundly in a large comfortable bed and in the morning they served me a choice of a big vegetarian or meat-lover’s breakfast.
Simply superb!
Well done to the team at Kilmorey Arms Hotel ! My Mood Compass will no doubt draw me back there again soon.
- Amanda (10/5): - The Girl on front desk was lovely I called in had a chat about putting balloon etc in my Grandma's room and that wasn't a problem she also sent them a wee dessert on the house for her birthday which they said was delicious thank you again forgot to get the girls name
- U3827WPnancyp (8/5): A mix - It was a pretty enough spot. The building is old but recently redone it seems. Located close to the bus route that we used. Front desk staff helpful and pleasant. Food was very good but service a bit slow/odd (our waiter basically disappeared near the end and I had to go find someone else).
But a few things to know… the heating is either on or off with no way to individually control it. It was overheated in our room so we had them turn it off. Since it was fall it worked ok, but I’m sure in winter that could be an issue. There were not plugs by both the beds, so one of went without using our CPAP. The plugs were under the desk, a couple more clustered in a corner near the wardrobe in the corner and one lone one by one of the beds. The bathroom had no plug (except one up high over the sink for shavers only). We were promised chocolate and prosecco but just got the wine. There was one place to put one suitcase but the second person had to use the desk chair for their suitcase. There was confusion on our bill for the restaurant at the last minute… a drink added we did not have and charges for food that was supposed to be included. It got straightened out but good thing we asked about it as we would have been charged 10 pounds or more extra.
So as I said-mixed. First world problems I know but added up it was a bunch of little annoyances for what was supposed to be a restful break in travel.

- KEITH & IRENE (10/5): Excellent food and accommodation is a very beautiful sea side town - From the moment we walked into the hotel we were warmly greeted and really felt the staff appreciated our being there. Everyone was friendly. We ate 2 dinners and 2 lunches in the restaurant. The food was excellent. The room was very clean and suited our needs. We have been travelling in Ireland for two weeks and this stay was one of the hi-lights of our trip.

- Joan (8/5): It was my second stay in the hotel and although it was tinged with sadness I enjoyed the break. - Breakfast was really good, plenty of choice to suit all tastes.
The room where it was served was very pleasant, more intimate
than the dining room. Much nicer than the dining room.
The staff were very attentive and helpful. Only problem we had was the room we were in
seemed to be above the extractor fans. We could
not open the window due to the smell which was
quite unpleasant. As it was only two nights it was
bearable.
- bainsyb (10/5): Great grub, amazing staff! - Staff were amazing, very pleasant, every one of them showed willingness to help and did their jobs with a smile on their faces.
Had a beautiful meal in the restaurant (get the haddock and chips - it's incredible!)
Breakfast was also lovely. Will definitely stay again. There was nothing i didn't like.
- Ferris (10/5): Great night away with grandkids - Location great right in middle of town took our grandkids away last year and they loved it and asked us to take them back. N/a

Staff really nice will go back 🤗
- Giedre (6/5): Will be back for food but not to stay - Dinner and breakfast was 10/10.
Staff and service was great. Hotel was very loud with the bar being downstairs.
Hotel is on the main road - if windows are open the noise is too loud, if window is closed room too warm.
Chose specifically Sunday as stated there was no live music, but music is played late.
- Betty (7/5): Very comfortable, friendly and enjoyable - Breakfast very good Nothing
- Catherine (10/5): The best place to have an event , with the best events manager ! - Had our daughter's 18th party in KA , a fantastic night , with excellent service all round , from floor staff , bar staff , doormen , and chefs ! The rooms are super comfy and spotless .. a fantastic evening , and enjoyable stay !
- Ariel (7/5): Good - Good Price to high
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exactly as described and perfect for our visit to see friends. - Perfectly positioned and well cared for. Parking on site. The staff were outstanding.

- wilmal576 (10/5): Warm friendly staff - First time in this hotel and will stay again.
Recieved a phonecall from staff member Lindsey on our way to notify us of a road closure so to ensure our journey didn't take us longer than expected. Got to hotel in good time and made very welcome by friendly staff.
We booked a table in bar and food was lovely.
Lovely clean hotel throughout and all staff friendly even cleaner checking with us that all was to our satisfaction.
We will definitely stay again.
- Jolene (10/5): Great experience - My uncle stayed and said the food was great, staff were very friendly and the hotel room was perfect None
- derekf37 (10/5): Even laid on a band - Had a really superb stay at this fine hotel. Everything was of the highest quality and we had a lovely time watching the well disciplined band parade which we were lucky to witness just as icing on the cake.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hotel - Very comfortable stay. Room was clean and well equipped with great en-suite bathroom. Cooked breakfast was tasty and good breakfast selections. Enjoyed lunch in restaurant before going home. Great selections on menu and well cooked. Great roast dinner options on Sunday too.
- louise (8/5): Hotel needs a revamp. Wouldn’t recommend for a quiet stay due to street noise. - The staff very nice and helpful. The food was good. Wi-Fi good. Hotel very run down. Small things in room. No fridge. Hairs on bed. Very stuffy. Had two windows but so noisy with traffic outside constant so you couldn’t really leave them open. Floors extremely creaky. There are two options for food. Bar or restaurant. Same menu. Terrible slow service the first night in the bar for food and drink. Second night completely different. Excellent service. Shout out to Killian the restaurant manager. He was brilliant.
- michaelmA1155WS (6/5): - Hi we have used the killmorey arms in Killkeel many times in the past and has always been a pleasant experience but our latest visit was far from this the food was average not what we expected from this hotel but the food was not the part of the visit that was the problem was the service. The staff were not attentive our food was brought out very slowly some not what was ordered and long delays from main to sides in total it must have taken 15 minutes to get are table all served we had to ask a few times for water and a unpleasant young man just grunted and left no one came to ask was everything OK I truly expected much more from this restaurant and I hope you learn from my comments. Michael McCandless
- nuala (10/5): - Staff very friendly welcoming and helpful
. Room very spacious and very well cleaned
- David (10/5): Great overnight stay .....sorry it wasn't longer - Friendly Staff
Excellent Breakfast
Great Coffee
Good Location Everything was Good....no shortcomings
- B5742SWmichellen (10/5): Fab good & lovely staff - This was our first time eating here and it did not disappoint. Plenty of choice on the menus and reasonable prices. The food was fab when it arrived. The staff was also lovely but a special mention to a young fella called Cillian. His service was unreal for such a young person. He was lovely with every person that was dining and had a smile all the time. An absolute asset to this restaurant
- joyce (9/5): Very good. - Excellent breakfast. Excellent staff. Our room was above where the music was. Just went on until 1. But got to sleep after that. No other problem.
- Markus (9/5): - Nettes Hotel mit gutem Abendessen und einer Bar zum Tagesausklang. Großer, eigener Parkplatz. Direkt im Zentrum von Kilkeel.
- elizabethhK9272TU (4/5): NOT what Is claimed! Avoid - Stayed here for our wedding anniversary reception lady tori was lovely and welcoming showed us around we went up to the room which was nice. Had a reservation for dinner and went to the bar for a drink while waiting. Was told no tables for drinks by a lady with a blonde bob and glasses. We where shown out to reception where there where 2 tables in an alchove and told we could sit there. It made us feel like we were waiting on a taxi very cold no atmosphere at all. My husband went to see if he could find the bathroom and discovered an area at the back of the bar with completely empty tables. We moved to there as there was music on and a better atmosphere. Why wouldn’t the staff have showed us there instead of reception area? Went for our dinner had our starter which was lovely waited an hour for our main a then while waiting we where asked if we wanted the desert menu! I explained we hadn’t even had our main after another 20 mins our dinner arrived 80 mins wait for salmon and a surf and turf?? Surf a turf was advertised as a speciality by award winning chef fresh sea food every day… steak was over cooked surf was 4 tiny prawns on the side not what you would expect for a self proclaimed steak and sea food restaurant! We left and to be honest was a complete let down. To be so close to the harbour and advertise fresh sea food daily is false as the prawns looked like they were pre cooked and off a supermarket shelf tasted like rubber. Staff only seem interested in the locals as is very clear in the conversations with others and ignorance toward us.
- Rowena (10/5): Overall, Kilmorey Arms Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. - I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kilmorey Arms Hotel, and it was an absolutely brilliant experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and professionalism, making my stay truly enjoyable.
The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with anything I needed. Their hospitality made a lasting impression.
The food was outstanding, with a diverse menu offering fresh, delicious meals. Every dish was beautifully prepared, making dining at the hotel a real treat.
The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and wonderfully comfortable. Thoughtful amenities and a relaxing atmosphere made for a perfect stay.
The location is perfect to allow for exploring locally and minutes from a lovely beach. Not a thing. It was perfect.
- Brian (9/5): good hotel to stay with great staff - Staff were very good and went the extra mile. food was good and well prepared and served. Parking was good. Golf at Killkeel was good location not the best but some nice local scenery

- carol (9/5): The Perfect Hotel for The Special 80th Anniversary VE Day Celebrations - Breakfast was amazing. As a vegetarian it was one of the best I've had here or abroad. It was the perfect hotel to stay for the 80th Anniversary VE Day Celebrations. Everything was perfect as expected.

- Karen (10/5): - This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel and again another amazing stay. Pauline on reception was so friendly and spoke to us more like a friend. She even thanked us for the leaving a review. We stayed in room 123 which had little steps up to it and was like a hobbits room but super cosy. Even though the hotel was extremely busy the staff couldn't do enough for the guests, always on hand to talk to guests and always had a friendly smile on their face. Breakfast again was fantastic with both continental and cooked on offer. Definitely recommend checking this hotel out.
- Fiona (6/5): It was an ok stay and it's a fairly basic hotel for what we paid. - Breakfast was nice. We were wakened both mornings by the cleaners chatting.
The room was quite cold.
- Chris (10/5): Fantastic hotel which exceeded all our expectations totally!! - This is a gem of a hotel in the centre of Kilkeel! Everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were all more than “a wee bit” friendly and very helpful, the retaurant was exceptional for the evening meal with wonderful service and an outstanding and creative menu. Likewise the breakfast. Nothing, we couldn’t fault it on anything!
- Mark (10/5): - Very friendly staff and excellent food!
- Sandra (10/5): I look forward to working in Kilkeel and my stay at the Kilmorey Arms is part of it. - I always stay at the Kilmorey Arms when I am in Kilkeel for work, Friendly, kind, food is excellent, Greeted on arrival, rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable, having somewhere nice to stay when you are on your own away for work, is hugely important In the winter the heating system needs to come on earlier, as I am up and getting ready to go to work
- Joan (8/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Amazing stay - Checked in quickly by an amazing female member of staff on front desk. We were shown around the hotel and arrangements were made for breakfast. Our room over looked the beer garden which was slightly noisy but there was a function ongoing which ran into the night. The room was spotless, there was water, tea and coffee supplied and we had a super comfy bed. For breakfast there was a continental breakfast available and you could also have a cooked breakfast. We made the most of it and ordered the cinnamon brioche toast with honey and a jam pot and the Mourne fry and also helped ourselves to some continental as well. Overall we had an amazing seat and we will certainly be returning.
- Chris (4/5): Not a great stay. Won’t return. - The food was lovely. They give us gifts for our anniversary. The room we were giving there was issues. Part of the ceiling looked like it had come away. Wall light in bathroom didn’t work. Room was right next to the outside smoking area so very noisy. I would not return to this hotel. Don’t believe its value for money.
- Sylvia (10/5): Loved our stay no complaints - Liked the overall stay hotel an staff, loved the town an beaches
- Mccullough (10/5): -
- geoffrey (8/5): - Clean comfortable room good food
- Elizabeth (10/5): All good, great staff, especially Mario. - Check in was great, friendly and professional receptionist.
Lovely spacious room.
Had a late lunch, food was lovely and staff friendly.
Special mention for Mario from the bar who went over and above to provide us with food long after the kitchen had closed. Excellent customer service delivered in a friendly manner - Mario is a credit to the hotel.
Thank you, we will be back.
- lous82 (10/5): A fab weekend - A lovely weekend in Kilkeel. Hotel was lovely, very clean, comfy bed and great service throughout. Enjoyed the atmosphere in the beer garden and the Sat night entertainment. Ent down late on Sat night and had missed the evening menu, however when we enquired, we were served a lovely meal. Breakfast was second to none and so tasty and Sunday carvery (which we usually visit when at our caravan) was delicious and very generous portions. Had a small issue with hot water in shower, but the hotel immediately offered another room to shower in while they fixed the problem. Thank you to everyone involved. A wee gem.
- X8467BYclairel (10/5): Really lovely - Stayed there recently and staff were very helpful with a few extra requests (a room that would be away from the Saturday night music, early checkin due to public transport, an alternative to the bubbly as part of the all inclusive deal, slight changes to menu options, and printing a local tourism map). All dealt with quickly and in a very friendly and helpful manner. Staff seem to genuinely care about your comfort and wellbeing.
The food was really delicious. Dinner, tray bakes and breakfast were very nice. Definitely a cut above the average. However, the carvery was the best I've ever had, with a large variety of starters, meats, veg, trimmings, sauces and desserts and all fine dining, rather than 'canteen' quality.
If I was pushed to criticise I would say the shower needs a replacement tray for soaps and the Sunday roasties could have been a little crisper. But honestly, Kilmorey Arms have more to offer and at a better price than many other reputable hotels just resting on their laurels.
- laurie (9/5): - Very helpful and friendly staff. The food is exceptional, and the service in the bar is great. Just to be aware that there is loud music until 1 am. However, we emailed ahead of time to request a room away from the bar, which the helpful staff accommodated us with, without issue.

- Kelly (5/5): Improvements needed - Have stayed before , Nice location
Some nice staff . Good cooked breakfast but was cold Room stunk of zoflora cleaning products which affected my chest . Hard uncomfortable bed . Some staff needed better customer service especially the manager lady . Wouldn’t return sadly due to unfriendliness of certain staff which is a shame .
- Matthew (10/5): A very comfortable and relaxing stay . - Breakfast was first class they had a great variety to chose from . We liked everything no complaints at all .A very comfor
- Kathryn (8/5): - Absolutely amazing but the beds aren’t comfy. Property was amazing but we had lunch it was £18 for fish and chips on paper sounded amazing but gad to keep asking for things that were missing it said purée pea but was dried mushy pea had to ask for the lemon tarter sauce and the extra chips so that was disappointing. The lads that were on were great but on their own so rushed off their feet. The chips were supposed to be triple cooked but were obviously were homemade I didn’t want to complain as my mums sister was there and hadn’t seen each other for a very long time .
- P7681AIgails (10/5): The Best food in the Kilmorey Arms Kilkeel - The best food and service we had in the Kilmorey Arms Kilkeel last nite ! The food was the best we have ever had ! Complementary taxi service, food plenty of cocktails 🍸 and complementary taxi home again to Chestnutt Caravan Park. Thank you to all the lovely staff in the Kilmorey !! Gail
- CHRISTINE (8/5): - The staff were welcoming and helpful and the food was excellent
