- TRUJR (8/5): A great place away from busy Split. - Location away from Split, Nice property with gym, pool amendment across from boardwalk with beach access, great private parking, room comfortable and nice balcony with sea view. Room cleanliness can be improved, hallways smell of cigarettes, and breakfast options plenty but average quality.

- Branko (10/5): Zaista izvanredan; rijetko dobar boravak! - Lokacija, sadržaji, hrana, iznimno ljubazno ali orifesionalno osoblje, personalizirani pristup, besplatno punjenje EV.

- doesmyreviewcount (10/5): Would recommend for a longer trip - We stayed at Hotel Plaza Duće, and it was a really lovely hotel overall. The staff were very welcoming, and the hotel was spotless throughout. On arrival, we were also given an unexpected upgrade to a suite, which was a lovely touch. The extra space wasn’t essential for our stay, but the additional storage/cupboard space was really useful and would be ideal for anyone staying longer. The bathroom facilities were excellent, and the balcony was a great size with two loungers and a coffee table – perfect for a morning coffee and an evening sit with the sea view.
We stayed on the third floor, which worked really well because there was only one lift. It’s worth noting that the higher rooms are in a separate building and require two lifts, although the views from those rooms would be fantastic over the sea.
The only hotel “complaint” was the sun lounger set-up on the rooftop terrace. There were plenty of loungers, but not many were covered by umbrellas as the umbrellas were fixed over the seating areas rather than the loungers. On a rooftop terrace, a bit more shade over the loungers would have been better.
In terms of location, we didn’t fully appreciate (despite reading the reviews) how long it can take to get to Split – the bus journey can take 2–3 hours , depending on traffic. Taxis were limited and expensive (it was around £60 to Split), which is why there weren’t many available. Even Uber to the local town often involved a 30-minute wait, so we ended up relying on the bus, which was reliable and very reasonably priced.
We only stayed three days, and unfortunately, two of those days it rained, which affected what we managed to do. We ended up seeing Split in the rain, and some of the restaurants along the front stopped serving when the weather turned. The restaurants in the square thankfully stayed open, but it still took the edge off exploring (not intended!).
Because the boats to nearby islands go from Split, and we also wanted to visit Trogir, the travel time meant we only made the trip into Split once. For anyone wanting to do lots of day trips, this hotel would be much better suited to a week or longer, so travel days feel less disruptive.
That said, the bus service was great for nearby places – we visited the neighbouring town (about 15 minutes by bus). There were also around 8 restaurant options nearby, which were fine for a short stay, although for a longer trip, it would be nice to have a wider choice. We also ate in the hotel restaurant one evening (rather than the inclusive option), and the food was lovely.
Overall, it’s a beautiful, well-run hotel, and we really enjoyed the stay – the main considerations are just the location (if Split/island trips are a priority) and the limited taxi/Uber options.

- Maud (10/5): Parfait. Rien.
- Ana (10/5): Sve je bilo savrseno. -
- Barbara (9/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal.
- Corrine (10/5): - The breakfast was delicious but would like more none pork options.
- Vinko (10/5): Sehr angenehm, immer wieder gerne - Sehr sauber, freundliches Personal, Zimmer war Top!

- alexander (9/5): Loved it. - The check in staff were very helpful and informative. Loved our view. Loved the pool. We skipped the breakfast because it did not seem to be good value for money.
- Hayley1950 (8/5): Gorgeous Hotel but don’t go out of season - Came in October our first holiday this year due to illness. Been to this area before (first time1988). The hotel is really lovely We were on 11th floor so view was stunning excellent room. It did take 3 lifts to get there which was no problem. We were half board and both meals were excellent What a choice! The staff were all lovely and helpful. We took a bus down to Makarska and also Trogir was worth seeing. Split was disappointing So much graffiti about. The walk into Omiš is flat easy and is 1.6 miles
On the downside there was no entertainment in the evening and no comfy lounge area to sit in. It’s ok if you’re with a group. Had a pedicure and it was excellent Best I’ve had. I love swimming but the outdoor pool was the coldest I’ve ever been in

- davidlN9316LZ (10/5): Fantastic stay - The Hotel Plaza Duce, is absolutely fantastic, food, cleanliness and staff 100%, We stayed a week, and couldn’t fault it, our room was spacious and very clean, the views from the balcony were stunning. We went half board, and the food each night was varied and of a good standard. The staff were always helpful and friendly and made you feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would not hesitate in returning if we decided to visit Croatia again. Thank you for making our holiday so nice.
Vue superbe!!!
- clairecR792XV (10/5): Beautiful hotel in a beautiful country - We had a fantastic stay at Plaza Duce the hotel itself is stunning, lovely facilities and staff are warm and welcoming. I would like to make mention of the cleaning lady who was really lovely and helpful.
- Branko (10/5): Vrhunska usluga, profesionalno i ljubazno osoblje, zaslužuju zvjezdicu više! -
- Gabriele (9/5): - ausgezeichnetes Frühstück
- RJB792 (10/5): Stunning hotel, great staff and facilities with amazing views - We had a lovely stay at Hotel Plaza Duce. The Hotel was immaculate, room was fantastic - 5th floor with views over the sea. Spacious, clean and stylish. The food was stunning, always loads of options so there is something for everyone. Drinks were reasonably priced given the kind of hotel it is with not a huge amount around it close by. The bar staff were excellent and created amazing cocktails. All the staff were very friendly and polite. The reception staff were amazing too, always keen to help and advise. Ana in particular helped us quite a bit and was always there if we needed anything. The facilities were great, the indoor pool was lovely, not huge but big enough with a jacuzzi. The outdoor pool looked good but the weather was not nice enough for us to use it - we were unlucky as our short break coincided with a bad weather although we did have one day where it was normal for that time of year 24 degrees. The hotel has beach bar too so we did mange to use that once and again that was fab just across the road with excellent drinks and amazing views. The hotel is essentially on one straight road either to Omis or Split. We took the bus to Split - about 6 euros for two people return! Takes about 50 minutes but you save quite a bit compared to a taxi. Split was stunning and we went to Diocletian's Palace and walked up the what turned out to be around 900 steps above Split with amazing views. We walked into Omis the closest town to the hotel - you can walk along the seafront and that took us about 35 minutes. Loads to see there with loads of restaurants. We decided to climb up to the Starigrad fortress, and it seemed like more of a climb than a walk - an we were on the easy route. Well in 24 degree heat it was certainly not easy but when you get there (take cash to enter) the views from up there are fantastic and in the end well worth the effort. Overall we had a great stay at the hotel and would recommend it. It is a place where you can chill and relax.
- Danijel (10/5): -
Rien
- 27Jones (10/5): The most perfect hotel and staff! - We stayed here recently and honestly can’t fault a single thing. Although it’s rated as a 4-star hotel, it truly deserves 5!
The location is absolutely stunning – the views from our room were incredible, and the surroundings were so peaceful and beautiful. Our room was huge, spotless, and had the most comfortable bed. The shower and bathroom were fantastic too – everything felt fresh, modern, and high quality.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional – so kind, welcoming, and genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They even recommended an excellent taxi service for trips to Split and Omiš, which was both reliable and affordable.
The food was another highlight. The buffet had an amazing variety and was easily some of the best hotel food I’ve ever had. The beach bar served delicious drinks and pizzas – it’s such a lovely spot to relax by the sea. The rooftop bar was equally brilliant with great cocktails, gelato, and wonderful staff once again.
Everything about our stay was perfect – from the location and facilities to the people and atmosphere. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, a group of friends, solo, or as a family, I can’t recommend this place enough.
A huge thank you to the whole team for making our holiday so special – we can’t wait to come back!
- H8394LYangelam (10/5): Just excellent! - This really has to be the best hotel we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived we found the staff to be so welcoming and helpful. From reception staff to restaurant staff, housekeeping and management , they all go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful stay.
The hotel is kept beautifully clean and tidy and is very well maintained. It really has all the amenities needed for a perfect stay. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools.. For us it was perfectly situated in a quiet and unspoilt area with its own beach and beach bar just infront of the hotel. It was easy enough for us to do the beautiful beach walk to Omiš (40 mins) or take an uber (20 euros) or bus ride into Split.
We were on the 11th floor, our room was very spacious (again the best we have stayed in) and equipped with everything we needed. The view from the balcony was breathtaking.
We were half board and the food and choice offered was excellent.
Highly recommend the boat trip to the island of Brač which you can book through the hotel!
We really did fall in love with Croatia and cannot wait to return to the Hotel Plaza Duce in the future .
- Alberto (9/5): - Everything is excellent: the staff, who is very friendly and always ready to assist in everything.
The quality of the breakfast is very good.
Facilities are many: indoor and outside pool, the very big solarium and restaurant on rooftop with very beautiful view of the sea, the small private beach, the garage.
Very good position and good garage with parking possibilities, athough the parking spaces are a bit limited..
- Bowler555 (10/5): I would award this hotel 6 stars if possible! - If it was possible to award 6 stars this hotel would fully deserve that accolade.
Before booking our group of four I must have read over 40 reviews all 5 Star! with exceptional comments.
All I can say is that having travelled throughout Europe we have never had the experience of staying in such a fabulous hotel.
Pre-Holiday
I had a number of questions directed to hotel before our holiday and they were all answered promptly in a friendly and professional manner -Great start
Arrival day
Such a warm and friendly welcome by the reception front line team. Very personable and understanding- Checked in in no time and seeing that one of our party was struggling with walking they came behind as went to the lifts taking all our luggage on a trolley up to our rooms.
Allocated rooms
We were in the mid section of this uniquely designed 3 tier hotel set into the hillside with spectacular views across the Adriatic to Brac Island from the balcony.
The rooms were exceptionally well appointed being long and spacious with a wide balcony which had two sunbeds and table and two easy chairs.
The beds were large and very comfortable whilst the bathrooms were designed to a very high standard with his and hers sinks/walk in shower ,separate WC and bath and beautifully tiled(Calcutta Gold). The body wash ,shampoo and bath lotion was sheer luxury.
Cleaning staff really efficient discreet and courteous and the hotel cleaning levels were top notch.
Plenty of hanging space /Tea-Coffee facilities and a simple safe design (no codes required) open and shut by the room card. Electronically operated curtains, lights and heating/air conditioning.
Built in 2017 the design and facilities cannot be faulted with all the mod cons of a top hotel. Ok the location is fairly remote which may explain the 4 * rating ( in reality it was 5 * ) but the all round experience offered more than compensates.
Facilities/Restaurants
All rooms are front facing with superb views the Dalmatian coast. especially from floor 6 to the very top. There is a roof top pool/jacuzzi along with sun beds and comfortable lounge areas to ensure you have the prime views of the spectacular sunrise and sunsets along the coast.
There is indoor spa facilities and an indoor pool to relax and spoil yourself along with outdoor exercise gym workout areas.
On the lower floor there is an outstanding Restaurant area where you take both breakfast and evening Buffet whilst higher up there is a Sunset restaurant were you can either enjoy a relaxing drink or sample the wide choice from the al la carte restaurant although most guests used the Plaza Restaurant which was exceptionally good value especially the evening Buffet offering
The choice at breakfast and the buffet could not be faulted(see pics) and the sheer range and quality and the preparation/cooking of the food was only of the highest standard. There was food choices to meet every ones needs. Fruit juices ,Cava tea/coffee along with fresh fruit, salad an a comprehensive offering of hot food along with outstanding local bread and special sweet cakes.
USP
Without a doubt what marks this Hotel out from other hotels is the people that form the staff team From managers to restaurant staff to the super friendly Front of House team to housekeeping and the maintenance team they are one BIG FAMILY.
You can sense the pride they have in delivering the best possible customer experience to their guests. In fact they could market training courses in Hotel management and hospitality to other organizations!
One example was that we enquired about local church services in Omis and they produced info sheets included English translations .
This how you deliver that exceptional level of service that warrants Trip Advisor 5 star reviews
ALL in ALL AN OUTSTANDING HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE
- erikathompson (10/5): The best holiday hotel - This is the nicest holiday hotel I have ever stayed in. It's immaculately clean and kept absolutely pristine. The staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful. We had half board and the buffet food was plentiful and very high quality with many choices.
The room was large, as was the balcony, and the bathroom had a walk in shower and a bath.
It's a very short walk to the pebbly beach and the pristine sea.
It's a longer walk to the lovely town of Omis - about 40 mins.
The hotel is on the coastal bus route from Omis to Split which is very handy. Split is about an hour by bus.
We were sorry our week went so quickly and we will be recommending Hotel Plaza Duce to all our friends. Perfect
- CP_chrispy (10/5): Beautiful hotel - This is a beautiful hotel. It’s kept clean and the staff very friendly. We were mainly served by Jelena, Antonio and Luka. They were all excellent. I’m mindful there are many other staff both customer facing and behind the scenes who work to make this hotel run so well.
Our room was amazing. We were on the 13th floor and had amazing views but I think you could be on most/ all other floors and still have great views.
The pool was great as was the sunbathing areas. The hotel has a beach area over the road from the hotel. Smallish area but clean and a bar serving food and drink that can be charged back to your room.
Only draw back, there was not a great deal of choice of nearby restaurants. It was also quite quiet. The nearest supermarket closed for winter while we were there so it’s a trip into nearby Omis if you want any groceries. The quietness was probably down to time of year we went (late September) . Quietness, of course, also has its benefits.
But as for the hotel….i can’t fault it and huge thanks to all staff, front facing and behind the scenes, who made ours an excellent holiday .
- jojohn37 (10/5): Hotel Plaza Duce - Lovely modern hotel. Spacious room and balcony. Lovely large bathroom but be warned the floor is very slippy when the shower been used, do not wear the provided slippers in the bathroom, I went flat on my side bruising my shoulder. Our room was in the high level but on floor 9 so we did get a view but not what we expected. We went full board and the lunch was outstanding, breakfast and dinner lots of variety. Bottled water expensive in the hotel €4, though tap water is ok to drink. Plenty to choose from from the bar and to be honest the prices weren't too expensive. The bar, restaurant and reception staff could not do enough for you. We needed help with setting up the app for the local buses and the girls on reception sorted it for us, also they sorted out the internet to watch premier league football in the main reception area. We used the local bus to go to Split and taxi to go to Omis though buses are regular to Omis or it is a lovely walk. The hotel is very isolated, which we knew when we booked it, there is a beach bar over the road though and a pool bar. We used the saunas and inside jacuzzi and i had a lovely facial abd my hubby had a neck and shoulder massage at the hotel beauty spa, watch out for daily specials at the beauty spa. We would go back. Think it is a hotel for couples, friends or families with older children, there is nothing nearby to keep children occupied. Your bill on leaving can be paid in cash (euros) or card. The Hotel Plaza Duce is a lovely, well run quiet hotel and is a good base for site seeing, walking, hiking etc.
- GrecianHighworthUK (10/5): Even better then expected - I am almost lost for words (totally unusually for me!), this hotel was even better than the Trip Advisor reviews had led me expect. From the welcome on arrival, to the continued friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, to the high qality delux rooms and yes the push button curtains, the excellent meals and super aitin staff - special to Lea who b y the end of our fortnight was like an old friend.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was so good to hear speaking so highly of the owners.
We had a room on the 14th floor - the views were superb. The 3 lifts to get to our rooms were excellent. Great bus service to Omis and Split.
Keep up the great work - you made these 2 guests very, very happy! Thank you Hotel Plaza Staff

- Exploration271351 (10/5): Hotel Plaza Hotel a lovely hotel - A lovely hotel with a superior feel to it. The staff are all very friendly and helpful
Dining room for breakfast and dinner very efficiently run,and food very good and plenty of choice. All ages catered for.
The hotel was very well placed for the bus to Split and Omis running every 30mins throughout the day. A new walkway along the beach about 5km long is lovely. Throughly recommend.
- I2832DPruthp (10/5): FABULOUS HOTEL. - Exceptional, hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are super friendly and helpful, extensive menu for breakfast and dinner, nothing not to like about the Plaza Duće Hotel, should be 5* not 4*
- alancQ8581ZN (8/5): Very welcoming hotel - As previous reviewers mentioned this hotel has wonderful staff. They care from the moment you arrive to when you depart. It is spotlessly clean, rooms are large and well kitted out. This is negated by noise from the main coast road to Split which made it unpleasant to sit on our balcony. The buffet restaurant food for breakfast and dinner was as good as you could get anywhere. Everything was very organised and super efficient, which unfortunately gave the feeling of the hotel lacking soul. This was very noticeable in the pool bar, which was fine as a pool bar but it was also a very bland a la carte restaurant and if you wanted a pre or post dinner drink you had to sit at dining tables. A cosy corner with low tables and armchairs and sofas is very much needed. Thank you {in alphabetical order} Gabriella, Iva and Lea for a great last dinner.
If you walk into Omis using beach footpath be sure to call into the Local bar for great craft beer.
- Inga Bjork (10/5): Amazing for relaxing - Really nice rooms, beautiful hotel. Nice pool bar and restaurant The hotel is in 3 buildings , so it took a while to get in and out of our room but not really an issue
- IngaBJ (10/5): Amazing place to stay - Beautiful hotel and very nice staff. located by the beach in a very quiet area. Easy to go to Omis for activity and Split for the city. The beach bar and restaurant is great both drinks and food. Breakfast was great but we did not really like the dinner buffet.
- IWreviews (10/5): Beautiful coastline hotel - Hotel plaza Duće is definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed in. We were on floor 2 and the room was super spacious, the bed was big and comfy, and we had a private balcony which had a railing for our towels, and we had a fantastic view of the sea. The room also has a button controlled panel to control the lighting and curtains.
Breakfast was delicious, with an array of freshly cooked hot food, pastry’s, fruit etc, they had everything. We enjoyed the pool terrace and the food they had to offer. I would also like to mention how amazing the staff were, and a particular mention to your exceptionally friendly waitress Antonio, he was super lovely and welcoming, and always on his feet running around. I definitely hope he gets his well deserved break- top guy!
Hotel is fairly remote but a couple of times we did a 30 minute walk into Omiš along the beach walk which was very peaceful. If not we made use of the bus transport which took 5 minutes into town, using the Promet Split app- very easy to use and super cheap so worth finding out how to use.
Overall, great value for money, all the staff were amazing and would definitely recommend!
- eatsdrinksandruns (10/5): Really lovely lovely - 5/5
Great hotel. Couldn’t fault it.
Staff were polite and friendly
Room had everything were needed for a comfortable stay. Buffet breakfast and dinner had a great selection - even for non- meat eaters!
Pre dinner drinks on the roof top terrace was the highlight - watching the spectacular sunsets.
- Sherpa05062307687 (10/5): Lovely hotel but would recommend to go in season - You cannot fault the service from the staff, they are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is lovely and the location opposite the beach is ideal, there are bus stops only a five minute walk away which will take you to Omis or Split and with the App it was extremely cheap (reception staff will help if needed) the only problem was the weather, as this was very unpredictable with winds making it feel very cold at times and as it was at the end of the season a lot of the restaurants, bars and activities were closed
- sassy102016 (10/5): A fantastic hotel - A lovely hotel, spacious beautiful room & bathroom. Staff were very friendly, & super helpful. Great choice of food in the pool bar/restaurant Good selection of cocktails & wines. There is nothing I could fault, I would love to stay again.
- laurensC6204MD (10/5): Fantastic hotel, highly recommend - This hotel was amazing. Every single member of staff was so incredibly kind and helpful. Check in and out was so smooth. The breakfast was the best I've ever had at any hotel, the selection and quality of food was great.
The hotel itself was huge, and completely spotlessly clean throughout. Pool and spa were great, rooms were super clean and had all we need. The attention to detail from the staff was also fantastic. And all staff were so friendly.
Would 100% recommend staying here and would definitely stay again.
- MarkPDowd (10/5): Perfect out-of-town hotel - Excellent hotel, perched on the shore, with a beach bar you can bill back to your room. Friendly, efficient staff, great service
- arbickerton14 (10/5): Excellent hotel experience! - Superb hotel, very clean spacious room and very well equipped with lots of storage space. Bathroom with double sink bath and separate shower. Food was outstanding and staff could not be more helpful
- 378paulined (8/5): Beautiful hotel but some negatives - The hotel was certainly clean and modern and some of the staff were very friendly. My room was on the four floor with limited views of the sea and beyond. Although a negative was the road and the accompanying noise and the view of the motor homes which I suppose gave me something to look at. As the previous reviewer stated there was nothing to do in the surrounding area almost all of the beach bars and restaurants were closed for the season. I asked reception where the nearest shops were and was told miles away, but there was a petrol station a mile and half up the road. So that’s was my one and only trip out. I enquired about trips but was informed I would have to go to Split, which I decided wasn’t worth it and I didn’t feel confident on my own. The buffet food was very nice, breakfast and evening meal, sometimes there was a crush when the doors opened at 7.00 pm to see who could get there first. Another negative was the one and only bar which was situated in the upstairs a la carte restaurant, when I use to go for a drink the staff politely informed me I had to sit outside on the terrace this happened every time, was it because I was by myself. Croatia seemed ok but I feel I could have been anywhere it reminded me of Greece same coastline and beach etc. Regarding the staff especially the cleaning staff they made me feel very special. But I do feel some staff need some training on how to attend to the solo guest as at times I feel I was ignored.

- Tianababy123 (8/5): Beautiful but very quiet Hotel - We came to this hotel based on all the amazing reviews we read on Tripadvisor.
Whilst I agree that the hotel is extremely clean and the rooms are lovely - we paid for one of the most expensive, which is called a deluxe and these are situated on floors 9-14. I loved the remote control curtains, fabulous sea views and the Balmain premium toiletries. The bed was large, very comfortable and there was a pillow menu if you weren’t happy with the ones supplied.
Robes and slippers were supplied plus shoe horn, cleaner and umbrella. Lots of storage room for our clothes etc. Tea & coffee making also with a mini fridge (payable).
We got used to using three different lifts to access our floor no 12 but it was a bit of a faff. I think we would have also got the lovely views in rooms lower down.
We thought the staff were nice but the comments on here made us think they would be amazing .… one lady at reception (Anna ?) was helpful though as I wanted two sun-beds on our balcony (you only get a table and two chairs unless you are lucky enough to be allocated a corner room, which has two sun-beds and table and chairs as the balcony is larger. She arranged for the sun-beds to be taken to our balcony and I appreciated this.
There was also a decent area for exchanging your read books.
For us the down side was that it’s a very, very quiet hotel. If this is what you like you’ve hit the jackpot. Nothing going on at all, which seems to suit a lot of the guests (most were considerably older than us) but we would have liked maybe cocktail making classes, aqua fit in the pool etc. not loads but just a little something. We had a day of severe weather and there was nothing at all to do in the hotel. We went in the spa area but only one bed free and the staff said no when I asked for another one. plus it’s very small but it is free for guests which is a bonus. Small indoor pool and a few sauna rooms.
I don’t like saying it but I wish someone had mentioned on here that it’s more elderly clientele. It felt like a luxury residential carehome at times tbh.
There were a lot of staff on in the sunset bar and there were usually six stood around together chatting whenever we went through… not being idle just that they weren’t needed. Maybe it was due to it being end of the season. One of them could have done a cocktail lesson maybe for interested guests.
Food wise it was typical buffet but I hated the tiny flies around the cheese and meats in the breakfast buffet. No one seems to have commented on this and I wish I’d taken photos. The food just got very samey which I suppose on a ten night stay it would and food was just luke warm at times.
The toaster situation was ridiculous. When we arrived it was just one two slice toaster, which must have got complaints as after a day or so there was a four slice toaster 🤣 why not one of the industrial toaster machines it would make sense.
The fruit selection was always the same. Why no honey dew melon? It’s hard as we had been away four weeks previously
not to Croatia but to a hotel again 4* but I can’t help but compare as their buffet spread was amazing with different fruits and live different cooking stations on at breakfast and in the evening.
I can recommend the trips through the hotel as they were good value and we enjoyed them.
I wasn’t going to leave a review but I thought this might help someone like us who whilst we don’t mind a quiet hotel this was too quiet for us unfortunately.
The area around is really beautiful and we walked into Omis and did the boat ride on river Cetina which was very nice. I think we may have been better staying in Omis at their sister hotel Plaza Omis as at least we would have had different things to do in the evening outside of the hotel. I didn’t want to walk into Omis every evening or catch the bus tbh. You need to bear in mind though that we were staying towards end of season.
We found a small bar 5 mins walk on the promenade which we went to on a few evenings and about another 10-15 mins there were a couple more bars that were open. Loads were closed though as it’s the end of their season. the supermarket closed the day after we arrived.
I think if you were going in July or August it would be very different. More lively in the area day and evening.
We did get to chat to a lot of lovely people though who were really enjoying it.
We enjoyed it but wouldn’t return as whilst the hotel was beautiful it was just too quiet for us.
We will definitely return to Croatia though as we loved how beautiful it is.
- CMD78 (10/5): Special hotel in wonderful Croatia - Just back after a fabulous 2 week stay at this wonderful hotel, we had room 202 in the main building, it was very spacious, the beds were so comfortable the bathroom was beautiful and the view from the balcony breathtaking. We were on b&b and the choice of food was amazing, everything you could want, we also ate in the restaurant and pool bar and again the food was fabulous. We had a trip to Split which was very busy but enjoyable, but Omis was spectacular, a beautiful little town with stunning scenery and plenty of places to eat and lovely little shops. We didn't do any trips as we just needed to relax after a tough few months and all the great staff gave us the opportunity to do just that. We send a special thank you to the housekeeping team who made sure our room was spotlessly clean every day, and also Iva in the restaurant with her cheerful smile and great service and Luca in the pool bar, his great advice on the menu made sure we always made the right choice and his attention to detail is great. We had a wonderful stay and will be coming back to this special hotel next year to do the trips we didn't do this time
- AndyB3117 (10/5): 4 star hotel with 5 star treatment - An amazing 4 star hotel idealy situation on the coast with spectacular views
The hotel was spotless and all the staff from receptionists waiters cleaners were all so pleasant and helpful
We stayed Half board our room located on the 9 th floor in Sunset house.
Rooms were spacious with ample plugs both 2 and 3 pin (uk) and usb
Although 4 star it was more like 5 star
The food was plentiful and piping hot with a range to suit all,
The pool terrace overlooking the coast was an ideal sun trap and a great place to end the evening with a tipple of choice
This was part of the Jet2 indulgence range and it lived up to all expectations.
- tonyhenparc (10/5): Simply unspoilt and surprising….. - Arrived September 11th. Room ready even at 10am. We had room 602 which was in the second block so away from the road. Everything in this hotel is spotless. From inside, pool area and social rooms. The cleaning staff are at it all day.
The rooms have everything you need. Modern and spacious with neat electrical touches, electric curtains, electric sun blinds and smart light controls including USB sockets and a British plug socket. Room safe works off the door swipe card. Shower and separate bath with twin sinks. Great soundproofing with carpet floors.
Restaurant on first floor. We went half board and found the food choice brilliant. Always fresh and hot meals at breakfast and dinner. Plenty of variations, salads and deserts.
Pool area had plenty of loungers, sofas with loads of shade with huge umbrellas. Pool, children’s pool and jacuzzi cleaned nightly. Open at 9.00am so no chair grabs and dawn towel placements.
Staff without exception were brilliant and always helpful. Lea and Iva were a tonic in the restaurant and although busy they were always ready with a bit of humour.
Not much night entertainment and the only place to sit was the a la carte restaurant that doubled as the bar and restaurant. During the summer most people would sit on the top deck near the pool that had lovely chairs, settees and mood lighting.
We walked to Omis everyday along a brand new walkway. Lovely beachfront with bars, cafes and chairs along the way. The bus service is incredible with an easy app giving times and location of the bus, facility to buy the ticket all for 1.5 euro a trip.
The hotel offers a beach bar with chairs and umbrellas on a nice small beach. This is at an extra cost so check it out.
Omis is lovely, September 27c daytime with warm nights. Always felt safe…
- Passport14079953167 (10/5): The best 4 star hotel we have ever stayed in. - We stayed here for 7 days and wished we had booked a longer holiday! The hotel Is on 3 levels, all easily accessible via the lifts. The room we had on floor 7 had a beautiful view over to Brac Island. Very spacious and modern room with all the facilities you would expect from this class of hotel. Exceptional cleanliness throughout.
The service from all the staff was excellent and they were always willing to help and make our stay as enjoyable as possible- - and they succeeded. We stayed half board and the food in the morning and evening was excellent. Buffet style in the Plaza restaurant but constantly refreshed and wide variety of food on offer. A la carte was available in the Sunset restaurant if you wished. We had lunch at the pool bar which was very good and reasonably priced.
Just across the road from the hotel was their own beach bar and sandy beach Great place to relax for lunch and a refreshing drink.
A nice easy walk into Omiš along the beach path was worth the effort to look around this ancient small town.
Great hotel and already planning to go back next year for longer than 7 days!!
- lynncP388YC (10/5): Excellent hotel - We have just have a week at Plaza Duće and we had a wonderful time, staff were very very helpful, excellent food in the restaurants and a lovely modern hotel and very clean
- hollidayma (10/5): A lovely peaceful holiday, surrounded by beauty - A lovely peaceful location, amazing views, high quality hotel. Friendly staff. Close to the beach, great pool . Definitely a quiet holiday, but excursions available .
We really enjoyed it. We went half board which worked out well.
- JohnM12810 (10/5): Plaza Duce 4 star ⭐ + holiday - Fantastic staff, very well appointed Hotel & great food worthy of 4 stars 🌟 if not 5!
Close to Omiš , 10 minute bus ride from outside the Hotel. & split 50 minutes
Use Promet app to buy tickets as significantly cheaper than cash
- Denise (10/5): - Staff could not do enough for you. Fabulous hotel!
- Raupfi (10/5): -
- X8677QYjohnh (10/5): Forget Spain - Stayed at Plaza Duce 12/19 sept 2025, this review as always is to give help to travellers and feedback to the hotel, having travelled a fair bit in my life these are just my humble opinions.
Blessed with weather for full 7 days 28 - 30 degrees daily, sun all day long, very few clouds = Beautiful.
Area = just stunning, close to Omis which I felt was better and prettier than Split ( short bus ride or walk in 45 minutes along the front from hotel) a beautiful place, quaint back streets with cafes and lovely shops. Coast line, beaches and clear blue sea, bars for a sneaky pint or 3 😀, supermarket 150 yards down the road, rent a motor scooter 300 yards down the road from the hotel = you have everything. ( large beer 3.5 euros).
Boat trip at Omis up the gorge, 2 hours only 10 euros each = beautiful trip, other boat trips can be booked here going out to sea.
We hired a moped one day (55 euros for 150cc moped 10-5pm) went to Makarska and stopped off at different villages coming back, whole coast line just stunningly beautiful (hire a car if a moped is not your thing) but do it.
The Hotel: 4 stars, my understanding a family run hotel, (I would say 4.5 stars) cleanliness of whole hotel 10/10, could not fault any part.
Staff, every single member totally professional, helpful and as a team contributed to an awesome experience and stay, three staff I’d like to thank are Stipe, front desk, booked us in and took us to our room, Iva, bright & bubbly in the morning at breakfast just so genuine warm and welcoming then Lea for the evening meal, Lea & Iva just like two peas in a pod as the saying goes. I just had to mention these 3 people even though all the staff were consummate professionals throughout the hotel 10/10, our room 804 (premium) the balcony view was breathtaking with the island of brac in clear view, the sea and coast line in clear view, (WOW) I would say most rooms give these views in this hotel due to its position. Room layout, amenities and cleanliness 10/10.
Went half board for the duration of stay: breakfast I thought was excellent 10/10 buffet style but a very good buffet.
Evening meal: buffet style 9/10, soup and salad section great, maybe more thought could be put into the hot part of the meal, (just my opinion).
Outside pool area 10/10, great amenities, stunning views, great ice creams at a reasonable price (2.4 euros) excellent pool side service (drinks & food), towels provided, inside pool I did not use or visit but looked good. (some umbrellas need replacing guys, having tares and holes in the fabric is not becoming of the hotel image). Did not use the wellness centre.
Twice to Croatia now, such a beautiful country, nice people will I come back to Croatia definite yes would I stay at the same hotel = yes. This holiday firmly told me to erase mainland Spain from my memory bank and not to consider again in the future, that’s how nice I found this whole area of Croatia.
Thank you for a great stay Plaza Duce and thank you nature for the stunning area we stayed in.
- Safari51427326726 (10/5): Best of Croatia - Extremely satisfied with ALL aspects of Service. Food to die for. Especially Desserts.
We will return.
Receptionists very knowledgeable and Helpful.
- GlobeTrotting606861 (10/5): After 8 visits to Croatia staying in different resorts this hotel is our favourite - This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
It was completely customer orientated and everything was well thought out.
In our spacious bedroom were English plug points. No need for continental plugs although there were points for those as well.
In the wardrobe was a steam iron and ironing board along with a shoe horn, clothes brush and umbrella plus a safe and plenty of coat hangers and storage space.
There were also excellent bedside reading lights.
We were in a corner room on the eighth floor with sunbeds on our balcony along with a table and chairs. The 180 degree view from our balcony was really spectacular especially looking over towards Omis.
All the staff without exception were absolutely brilliant.
The food was really good. We were on a half board basis. There was plenty of choice on the buffet. No need for us to dine A La Carte but the choice was there.
The beach bar was good for lunch time snacks and drinks as was the pool bar.
We did find the beach a little crowded and noisy. It was peak season so to be expected.
There was a DJ playing head banging loud music on the beach ( maybe an age thing) But nice gentle background music might have been more suitable and reaxing. A personal taste.
In conclusion, we had a really good time staying at this hotel and could not fault it and would highly recommend it to anyone
- Katherine (10/5): - Excellent all around

- deborahkO865QH (10/5): Fabulous hotel in a fabulous place. - From start to finish it’s been a fabulous trip. The hotel is perfect. You have everything you need in a great location. The staff are available for anything you need, but leave you alone if you don’t. The rooms are very well equipped and very spacious. This hotel wants you to have a great time, we did. I felt well looked after and I would highly recommend a stay here. Duće is a lovely place with great beaches, beautiful clear waters and activities to keep you busy.
- 406dinad (10/5): Fabulous hotel in a stunning location - We just spent 8 days at this fabulous hotel and everything was just wonderful. The staff were friendly and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a deluxe room on the 12th floor with a massive corner balcony with spectacular views of the sea and surrounding area. The room was spacious with loads of wardrobe and drawer space and a fridge, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities etc. The bathroom had his and her sinks, a massive bath and a shower cubicle with a rain shower. I spent a lot of time in the bathroom!! It was so luxurious. The beds were very comfortable and there was even a pillow menu so you could change your pillows if desired
The pool area was lovely. The pool itself was never too cold and there were plenty of sun loungers plus sofas and armchairs and each sunbed had a buzzer for calling staff for refreshments. The beach was a minute across the road also with plenty of sunbeds and a beach cafe belonging to the hotel. If you enjoy the beach then be aware that you have to pay for sunbeds and umbrella, a hefty 27 Euros for two sunbeds and an umbrella. That cost could mount up if you went every day. We spent one glorious day at the beach and popped over now and then for a drink and a quick dip. The sea was turquoise blue and there are lots of activities you can partake of such as jetski hire, paddle boards etc.
As for the food, the buffet was plentiful and varied catering to all tastes with everything labelled. My husband is a fussy vegan and the wonderful chef Mio prepared food for him specially every morning and every evening. He was thoroughly spoilt with tofu dishes and lovely desserts. The buffet had a variety of meat dishes, two kinds of fresh fish served every day and various risottos, plus a big salad bar and dessert selection. You definitely won't go hungry.
Once again, would really like to say what a great holiday we had at this great hotel and thank you to all the staff, especially Mio, Gabriejla Lea, Sandra and Eva who looked after us in the restaurant, and to the reception staff who were very helpful with their local knowledge of the area. We will be back next year!
- dbarnard147 (10/5): Lovely comfortable hotel - Lovely clean hotel with nice spacious room and comfortable large bed. Well equipped room with sea view balcony. Good selection of foods at breakfast , service provided by all staff was excellent and the pool / spa area was very nice indeed .
- R6283ZRiand (10/5): All in all a enjoyable stay. - Spent a week in the plaza hotel in early September. I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. The reason for the .5 deduction was we weren't told that you were charged 27€ a day for the use of the sunbeds on the beach.
Apart from that I can't fault the hotel and the staff. Everything was excellent ,friendly staff, spotless hotel and great food.
All in all a very enjoyable stay.
There isn't much to do in Duce, but you can get the bus to Omis about ten minutes up the road , there is plenty of bars , restaurants and shops.

- 390viviennec (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - We have just returned from a week at this Hotel. One of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in. Staff were great and very helpful. Food good. Plenty of choice at breakfast and evening. Drinks were a reasonable price. Slightly cheaper at the beach bar. Two beers 6/7 euros. We had De luxe room which was on the corner so we had a huge balcony with sun loungers and table and chairs. Many guests we spoke to were returning for a second time and we will also be doing this. I read some reviews before booking and after and for the most part they are great but some commented on the fact if you have a de luxe room they are on the on the higher level so you have to get 3 lifts. This really is not a problem as the small walks are lovely. Also opposite the hotel there is camper van area. Not a problem at all and is very pretty with tree coverage and a walk through to the beach. The toilets here are very clean indeed. The beach bar and food also very good. It was for us one of the most relaxing holidays we have had in a long time and we will be returning. Omis which is a 45 min walk away or bus number 60 just a few mins ride at 2.50 euros each is a most beautiful town. The boat trip up the river at 19 euros is just beautiful. We also did a boat trip to Brac island again definitely worth doing. Do not be put off with anything negative because you will not be disappointed. I would also say that there are lots to do on the beach for children. I’m encouraging my daughter and family to go. I know they would love it.
- stevedI9863FP (10/5): TOP RATED EXPERIENCE - Really excellent hotel and professionally run
Staff were super helpfully and nothing was too much
Special mention to "Iva" uk name Eva that lady was always super helpful and gave really useful tourist spot advice.
