Nelleke (6/5): - Het a la cart ontbijt was prima, met genoeg vega opties voor Engelse begrippen. Het hotel heeft een lelijk bijgebouw, wat outdated is en waar wij verbleven. De spa was niet te gebruiken, dit was niet gecommuniceerd. Prijs kwaliteit hierdoor niet in verhouding.
Kath (9/5): Lovely friends catch up - Very helpful, friendly staff, quiet location, clean property, excellent breakfast, no hot water in the bathroom so we were given money off the dinner. The single bed was quite rickety and only suitable a child. The spa was long term out of action and really should be removed from ad.

The spa facilities are closed. I knew this ahead of time, but my partner was joining me for the trip, but when I said the spa was closed, they decided to give it a miss.

Nicholson (8/5): Lovely place to stay - The grounds were beautiful and the room was very spacious and clean. The mattress on one of the pull out beds was well used which wasn't so comfortable for my younger son. I think it was the extractor fan we heard come on at around 7 which woke everyone up but it probably can't be helped as I think we were probably in the room above the kitchen. Apart from that it was a lovely stay, thank you.

Charlotte (6/5): Very noisy hotel! - First, this isn't a spa hotel. The 'spa' area was closed, but even if open, it's tiny and definitely not comparable with a proper spa hotel. What the hotel does do is host big events, and they are noisy. We couldn't stay in our room as it was directly above the disco and although the staff did find us another room, it was tiny - no bath, no fridge, no view (barely a window). It was quiet thankfully, but it was not worth the cost and wasn't at all what we paid for.

Sophia (9/5): Little gem in west Coker. - Breakfast is amazing. Room is quiet and the blinds did a good job blocking lights, I had a good lie in which I intended to. Didn’t expect there are no tooth brushes provided, neither a hairdryer. Rest of the facilities are great!

Service at both dinner and breakfast was very good. I appreciated having a proper pot of tea at breakfast and the muesli was excellent. Decor was rather tired and lacking in any sort of charm. Floor lamp in bedroom didn’t work and the hairdryer was sticky as were the salt and pepper grinders in the restaurant.

Shine (10/5): Joshua is a great asset to this hotel. And the hotel is fabulous. - The hotel was beautiful. However at the time of the booking it was not mentioned or mentioned clearly enough that the spa was shut. When I mentioned this to Joshua at check in, he was more than happy to arrange something which compensated this. In addition bookings.com misplaced my payment, but once again Joshua sorted this out with ease. My family were able to relax here and it is a wonderful place. Bookings.com needs to make things clear at the time of booking that key services are not available. And also be good not to misplace the payment for the staff and guests to sort out.
Jodie (4/5): Not what was sold to me - The hotel itself was lovely, but we booked it as a spa break and when we go there the spa has closed! It says nothing about this on hotels.com website and I was so disappointed. It’s in the middle of nowhere and without the spa, there was nothing to do and it was a waste of our time and money. Completely not what we had booked. I feel really robbed as we paid £315 for the room and completely dissatisfied.

Jonathan (9/5): Great Location, Great Building, Great Rooms, Great Staff, Great Food. - I have stayed at Lanes a few times. Different Rooms each time and happy each time. For Hotels around the Yeovil Area Lanes is the best for sure. I would and do recommend it. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and chatty. As I have said, I am happy with pretty much everything. All I would like to see changed/upgraded is the tech in the rooms. I had Room 1 this time (Penthouse), a lovely room. However, the TV was very dated, small, and only viewable from the Sofa. As such, for ease, I used my iPad. To be fair, this is the new norm nowadays. Although I like to connect my phone or iPad to the TV or speaker to play music, This is becoming more and more common in hotel rooms.

Lynn (10/5): Fabulous - Everything. Very impressed. Every member of staff was polite, very helpful, and couldn't do enough to please. The hotel was very clean. The rooms were large and comfortable and very warm, didn't need to turn on the heating, and had windows open throughout the night (in November!). Food was gorgeous and well presented, and I can't fault anything or anyone. Will certainly visit again. There is nothing to dislike. Everything was great. If i had to find fault, it would be that there should be a warning on the hot water taps as the water was extremely hot. (But that would just be me nitpicking)

Room 6 is above the kitchen-beautiful room however I think people should be warned that the kitchen fans are very loud and makes the floor vibrate, then if that is something they can deal with it’s up to them. I was moved to another beautiful room so not complaining just making aware.

Rooms are in a brand new annexe so pics of the old school original building (much extended) are a touch misleading. Room was borderline too warm with heating off on a British Autumn day: suspect temperatures in room would be poisonous in summer…

Caroline (10/5): A gem of a find! - We booked the one bedroom apartment which was very spacious and comfortable. Having the hotel facilities like the bar, restaurant and breakfast on hand, you still have the option of a fully functional kitchen, lounge to relax and watch TV (World Cup Rugby in our case) and a private terrace to sit out on. Perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Amazing staff!

The room was far too overpriced, when we returned to the hotel in the evening a member of staff ran out and said he was worried "we were robbing the place "which is rude. The manager also tried to charge me for the room again when checking out when I'd already paid prior to arrival. I also heard him on the phone apologising to a customer for charging them twice.

Fantastic small touches like a stocked mini fridge, peanuts and great tea tray with a wide range of hot drinks. All complimentary. Super soft bath robes an added bonus. Food was outstanding. The staff could not do enough for you, Shaun the manager very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful as were the rest of the staff. Had a lovely relaxing break, would definitely stay again

Duane (7/5): Poor value for money and lousy customer service experience. - Hotel was nice and breakfast too. The rest was a shambles. Firstly, checked into wrong room and needed to move. Second, told breakfast cut off was 9:30am, but when going down to breakfast at 9:10 we were told we were too late for breakfast but they’d still serve us. Odd and frustrating given the cost and the fact the leisure facilities were out of order (key selling point of hotel). Thirdly, after checking out and just finished loading the car, a member of staff rushed across the car park and I was asked if I’d paid. I mentioned Booking.com took payment a few days ago and he said ok. A bit embarrassing and unprofessional. Not many things they had to get right really and overall pretty disappointing experience and as a result poor value for money. Unlikely to use Booking.com again or revisit the hotel. Shambles for the money paid £260 for 1 night.
Coreen (8/5): it’s probably the best in the neighbourhood and it is a pleasant enough stay. - beautiful old building and really wonderful staff rooms are dated. they need a transformation. food menu is much too limited and too grand. some simple food choices would be appreciated
Ruth (7/5): Beautiful decor in rooms, fresh modern look throughout, room service after 9 would be a help. - Didn’t have breakfaat We were in an eaves room which unfortunately did cause a few head bumps. The phone didnt work and the lights were very complicated to operate. There was no room service available after 9pm. However I passed this on to the duty manager who was lovely and very receptive. Also there is an M&S five minutes away for snacks. Staff really friendly and the whole place is exceptionally clean.
Allison (9/5): you get what you pay for , and this was very worth it - beautiful location and dining hall, as many original features have been maintained as well as a tasteful modernisation . The rooms are spacious with beautiful views

Robert (10/5): - Well appointed and comfortable rooms in renovated hotel, with ample parking and lovely surrounds. Ideal location if you are visiting Yeovil or surrounding area. Wonderful cooked breakfast using local produce.
