Guest Reviews
- Mike (10/5): - Clean room ,nice staff very good value for your money
- MUHAMMAD (10/5): - We had a nice overnight stay
- Kerri (2/5): - The elevator was not working no one was around to help us access stairs. The check in was on opposite side of highway and no staff at the other location we were put in. Other guests had people in their rooms that could come eventually open the the side stairwell where our cards didn't work to gain access . The number we had to contact on our card pamphlet was a 1-80 for booking only and no person to help. We had to lug up all our stuff four flights in extreme heat warning, no ac in hallways. So yucky. We wete given 10% off at the restaurants for our stay which wasn't applied. The grounds and elevator, once working were very dirty and not cared for. Needless to say will not recommend or ever stay again.
- Jocelyn (10/5): - Absolutely amazing stay will be coming back
- Hannah (10/5): - Enjoyed the hospitality regarding pets as I felt welcomed and this isn’t always my experience traveling with a pet.
- Marshall (6/5): - Lots of water damage in bathroom. Vacuuming upstairs in middle of the night
- Randy (8/5): Very good - Nice big room with balcony
- Vince (8/5): - Room was fine.
- Breanna (1/5): I don’t recommend staying at Nova in Edson. It is dirty and gross. - Nothing. It was gross and dirty. There were hairs (pubic hairs) in the beds. They were dirty and gross. There was pee on the bathroom wall. It was not clean and we had to change our own bed sheets.
When I booked it said that there was complementary breakfast. This was not the case. We had to pay for breakfast at the restaurant attached. I was very disappointed.
- Jason (6/5): - The property is old and run down. Id rather stay at the Park A motel or the Travelodge.
- Chelsey (1/5): Not impressed at all! I should of gotten what I booked for! At the price that was set For. - To be charged the proper rate that I was told the room was supposed to be 119 that's if I had gotten the apartment room I originally booked for with a balcony. I didn't that plus I was charged full rate 183 dollars when it was only supposed to be 119 thats what my reservation says The fact that I was ripped off by you guys by telling me I was able to get my room for 119 a apartment room but instead the hotel charged me 183 dollars in stayed 5 night in a normal standard small room. So not even my room I booked threw you guys i was under the impression it was only gunna be 597 dollars for 5 nights when it turns out I had to pay 790 plus the lady at the desk told me I still owe for a night that was supposed to be paid for and again charged full price 199 for her mess up. So 5 nights turns into a 900 dollar 5 day stay at the nova I thought you guys were supposed to be a place that finds the rooms for cheapest rate... Well I'm not impressed at all about this that's money I couldn't afford to spend when I thought I was only spending 595 not 900.... I got the recite to prove it too.
- Robert (6/5): - A on night stopover while travelling. Mostly filled with workers it seems. Expedia booking gave us a boxed breakfast. Girl at desk said this is no longer available...she was polite for sure...option is discount at restaurant attached to hotel.
- Tim (8/5): - The Nova Inn is showing its age but for the price I think it does just fine. There is nothing remarkable about the property but it does the job. One thing that is great is how quiet I found my room that is right on the main east bound lanes of Hiway 16.
- Amy (10/5): - Great hotel with comfy beds. Staff is always friendly, polite and quick.
- Shannon (4/5): Would not stay at this location again. - Good locations Not the cleanest
- Dube (1/5): Bad -
- Mandy (8/5): - Room was a nice size. Only one coffee cup in the room for two guests, but had glass wine glasses. The restaurant was closed because of staffing issues. The front desk was helpful with any issues. Ice machine in main building was broken and had to go across the street(the highway)to the ice machine. Room was clean good sized fridge and had some plates and cutlery.
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jason (6/5): Won't be back. - Staff was fantastic. The hide-a-bed in our room was filthy. They gave us a new room, originally we booked a "suite" a we intended to have 5 people. These are the poorest suits I have ever seen. It was simply a regular room with a fireplace. Didn't even have proper air conditioning, there were portables in the windows. When I pay extra for extra amenities, I expect extra amenities. Did not recieve any. No discount on the room for having to change rooms at 11:00 at night because of a dirty bed. Very disappointing and will make sure to not stay here in the future.
- Kimball (4/5): Disappointed the restaurant wasn’t open. No corkscrew. Decent stay outside that. - No corkscrew in the room.
Restaurant wasn’t open. That’s why I wanted to stay there.
- H9662GCrichardd (2/5): Shitiest hotel I have ever been at - Do not stay here worst hotel I have ever been in. First room they sent me to was uncleaned. Second room wasent even the room i reserved. I reserved a queen single. I asked and thegy said the double 2 beds are queens what a joke. ac was broken and they use a portable one. Water as brown and unusable called reception with absolutly no help saidbi need to ha e a shower after work. Said would be fixed in 2min 2 hrs later still brown.. Restaurant was closed even after they advertise its open.
- Tammy (10/5): Best Staff, best location, building could use upgrades, no rewards program? - I love the location, I get the apartment style suite with my children and we are conveniently within a 3 minute walking distance from Walmart that has food, toys and activities. Playgrounds and parks are in walking distance. It feels safer with the new pin lock on the front door, where as before it didn't lock at all and was seemingly open to the public. In Suite washer and dryer, full kitchen with oven/fridge/dishwasher. Being able to smoke on my balcony while the children are playing. The staff basically know me by first name, I used to work front desk here 10 years ago and a few of the staff greet me as if no time has passed. It's a good vibe. The furniture and interior is dated, this building is begging for new hallway carpets and paint. To mitigate this I bring my own bedding, and used my own throw blankets/pillows on the furniture in my room during my stay, and it feels a little more like home. I stay here fairly often, on average about 13 times per year. I have not been offered any type of membership, discount or rewards. I understand there are a lot of companies that get these perks because of the length of stay, however, I pay over $10k/year in hotel stays in Edson as this is where my children live while I'm working away in camp.
- X9117DPaaronh (2/5): Save yourself the money and discomfort - go somewhere else - Update on this absolute shill of a hotel: pool is still closed, restaurant is now closed as well. They advertise for both and neither are open and haven't been for a while. If you're pulling a trailer for work, good luck getting into the main hotel on the Southside of the highway where there's a giant lot. You'll likely be put across the road in thrle Nova 'Suites' building where there's hardly room for half the guests staying there to park, ensuring that when you check in, the staff will tell you that you have to park on the other side of a busy NATIONAL 4 lane highway to get to your vehicle. To top it all off, this place has probably some of the worst housekeeping with hair everywhere, walls being dirty, fridges being left with moldy food in them, dirty mirrors, sticky spots on the tile floors, the list goes on. Also - a lot of the fixtures are broken or even missing. There were two different hair dryer mounts in my latest room... with no dryer to be seen! Avoid this place like the plague.
- Ross (4/5): Disappointing -
- Imran (3/5): Terrible most stay ever in edson. A mistake altogether to choose this inn. - Location... Close to work Terrible sound of window exhaust (!)/ air conditioner
Terrible sound from rooms nearby abd corridor
Breakfast was a joke - ordered nitem not received
Restaurant closed - so it was their responsibility to arrange alternative... They didn't even bother asking.. didn't have breakfast two days stay... They should return some money back
I travel a lot .... Won't go that inn again, wont recommend others. They inly care for the company workers who gets a shuttle service every now and then. They possibly recieve better service. Others and especially non-supreme races just pay them and in return recieves utter disrespect akd negligence.
- Dube (1/5): Bad -
- Ross (4/5): Well not be staying at the Nova in Edson again! - The price was very good and the rooms were somewhat cean.. As well the location of the hotel
to our event we were attending was great! Well were do I start.. First off it needs a total renovation as the rooms are so out dated and ours smelled! The coffee machine was broke and they never got us a new one as well the electric plug behind the bed didn't work so hence the clock or light didn't work.. The thing they call an air-conditioner couldn't get it cooler then 19 degrees..
I will not be staying at the Nova again!
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edmund (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (1/5): dirty beds, breakfast sucked, and no hot water!!! - absolutely nothing everything
- Dennis (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ralph (7/5): Good - Location price Room was dated
- Melissa (5/5): The facility was comfortable and clean but the staff may need more training. - The rooms were spacious and had a fire place. The room was quite and the temperature was comfortable. The breakfast wasnt the best as it was a bag lunch and some of the stuff we asked for was subsituted, forgotten or just didnt taste good. The staff overcharged us and had originally put us in a smoking room and we dont smoke. I didnt book it that way. The staff told us we were overcharged but it took some time for them to fix it.
- Kathy (9/5): Superb -
- Inam (5/5): Passable -
- Neel (8/5): Very good -
- Debbie (8/5): - The stay was good. The trucks were loud. The room was great. The breakfast needs some improvement, but good. Thank you for a pleasant stay and accommodating for my blind husband..I'll make my family and friends are aware. 👍
- Carrie (8/5): Over all completely satisfied and cannot sing the staffs praises enough - Location was terrific but the staff were amazing Ordering the bagged Breakfast was inconvenient so we didn't bother, but that was our choice - bagged Breakfast offering is better than no Breakfast though.
- Nathan (2/5): Disappointing Stay - a lodging of dubious value. - My room was never cleaned!. Not my carpets, not the mirrors nor the walls. I got fresh towels, sure. But even the bathub had a ring, when I first got there! My toilet and shower walls where given the minimum. The front desk staff, all but one were either curt or utterly dismissive. The walls are like paper and I could hear every dog, child, argument or party to the wee hours of the morning. There was no place to park in the lot, so I parked in an alley or on the street. The provide "lunch" was a joke and wasn't even what I requested. I only selected Nova Inn as per Hotel.com's suggestion. It was dirty. It was lacking service. It was not a place to get a good night's rest. It was more a akin to a squat or a hostel. I _will not_ be hotelling here again. 1/5 stars.
- Lisa (10/5): - The girls at the front desk are a delight. Very helpful
- Tammy (8/5): - I like how close to Walmart it is, the parks, full kitchen, washer and dryer. The staff are all friendly. I dont like the dirtyness of the hallways, extremely dated furniture/blankets/carpeting, staff never activates the keys long enough, so i get locked out with my kids at very inconvenient times(however they do bring new keys over when asked), no clear breakfast menu or times, i assume the people in the suites have to dart across the highway to pickup a brown paper bag of generic hotel breakfast items then run back across with it with children. I called before my stay to confirm they had my reservation (last time i showed up, they already sold my room and I had to downgrade), a man answered and said "i cant check anything like that, my computer is down, busy doing its own thing, sorry" this sounds like the same system they had since i worked there in 2013 which had that problem, so i guess i understood, but maybe time for an upgrade. Overall still my favorite hotel in Edson because of the apartment style rooms.
- Albert J (8/5): - Good value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): comfortable and clean - Room was clean and comfortable-no issues with anything. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I've stayed here many times.
- Cynthia (6/5): - The staff were nice but not overall friendly. The hotel was clean our door only opened 1/2 way unless you really pushed it. Doors to the bedroom of the suite did not close properly. The rooms were hot no a/c
- KeJaZa1986 (2/5): Not my choice to stay here and would never bring my family here! - Let me start by saying there are much better places to stay that you need to look into before coming here. If you are with your family, just dont even come to this hotel. I am here for work, which is why this hotel is where I have to stay. The downside of this for me is that I cannot and will not bring my family into this hotel. It reeks of cigarettes and pot everywhere. The water is disgusting. The rooms are poor at best. The gym is an joke with busted equipment and no room for anything really. The breakfast... omg hahahaha wow. Get your bagel, oikos yogurt cup, and weakest coffee you've ever had made in a coffee maker someone brought from home. My first night here, I was greeted by a drunk in the lobby whom which fell on his ass outside in -25° weather and stayed there, yelling random things and smoking a cigarette. The staff is rude, especially the fellow who takes care of the building across the street. Oh, and the building across the street is even worse than the main building. If you have a choice, dont stay here. Holiday inn has great staff and rooms, best western is much better too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was close to shopping and other amenities. No restaurant :(
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel has. Smoking rooms which I always love. And as well something I haven't seen amongst the many hotels I've stayed in previously. An indoor fireplace in your room
- Garrett (10/5): - Super friendly staff. If you bring your pet with you, you will not be disappointed. The most pet-friendly place i think I’ve ever stayed. The hotel itself is quite nice as well and well priced. Will definitely stay here again my next time through town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nova Edson - I have used this hotel a great deal as I come to Edson for work. It is the best value in the town with a good room at an affordable price. Perfect Oilfield Hotel with great staff that will always help out.
- Clo (10/5): - Staff is always friendly and check in is always fast. Rooms are very clean. Shower pressure is AMAZING
- Rob (8/5): - Friendly staff. Followed up on requests quickly. Spacious room. Only complaint-limited options for breakfast.
- Nona R. (10/5): Wonderful room and great staff - Very clean, updated. Room was great!
We had a fireplace in our room for those cold nights. The room was a generous size despite 2 beds being in it. Carpets and linens were spotless in the room. The room had a refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, microwave, dish soap, it was AWESOME! Usually you can see off colored stuff growing on tile in hotel bathrooms - not here! Shower was spotless! The only thing not updated in the room was the bathroom sink which you could tell was dated (but clean) but facet was new.
Carpets in hotel were clean despite the heavy traffic. It was really quiet which is great - despite being booked full. I accidentally slept in because the beds were so comfy and cleaning staff despite being in the hallway were so quiet.
Staff was really friendly and helpful with restaurants, etc.
The outside is very deceptive, looks like any other hotel but once inside looks very similar to a luxury hotel. The lobby was huge with a large sitting area with chairs and couches to sit near a large fireplace. On the very far side. (Very out of way near entry of hallway where rooms are located) are vending machines - large ones where you could buy any snack imaginable.
Also, there is a free small breakfast with pastries, yogurt, which is nice if you are on a budget.
I can't say anything bad about the hotel - even the parking spots were a generous size which if you have a rental is important - you don't need dings on a rental!
For the price the hotel was extraordinary!!! It was a bit out of the way for Jasper National Park but well worth the extra drive for a nice, clean room.
I have stayed in hotels in Hinton and Jasper (town) when visiting Jasper National Park. I loved this one (much nicer) and to me it was definitely worth the extra drive and was much cheaper!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Was okay but could be better. - housekeeping forgot to clean the room, fix the bed and did not change used towels.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - the booking was for 2 queen beds, was not provided
had to use a cot, and hide abed (they suck).
The say they upgraded the room, but was not an upgrade 1 bed. we booked two, when went to check in told reservation was changed till tomorrow, this was not the case, called Expedia, they helped, but still didn't get what we booked. This is the hotels fault not expedia's fault.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Booked this room to visit Jasper - it was a bit far to drive - but it was okay - the outside of the hotel is very dated and old looking but nicely renovated inside whew ! As I was a bit concerned as I drove into the lot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I stayed in an apartment across the street from the main hotel. Only downfall you have to cross the highway to go for breakfast. Room was very clean and the bed was comfy!! Will stay again.
- wayne (8/5): Clean comfy rooms. Great breakfast in the morning. - This was a business trip. My expectations are simple. Clean room, and room for business. computer area, good wifi, and room to work. A comfortable bed, and a decent coffee in the morning. This hotel met ally expectations, and as an added bonus, it included a good breakfast. Real eggs, Sausage, and potatoes, and toast. All made fresh, and no microwaving. all nall, it was a pleasant stay.
- 259trishl (2/5): Terrible service - I have stayed here twice now and won’t stay there again. The rooms are a bit run down but at least they appeared to be clean. The first time I stayed here the lady at the front desk was not real friendly but not right out rude. When we went to check in after 530 pm, they made us wait because our room wasn’t ready. Even though check in was at 3 pm. We didn’t have to wait a long time but we had to wait nonetheless and the ladies at the desk seemed irritated at us for it. Buuuut I went back a second time. Gave them the benefit of the doubt-after all, there was a hockey tournament that weekend in Edson and maybe they were busier than usual, maybe they were short handed, whatever-I gave them a second chance.
WELL, the second time I stayed-they were good about letting us check in early and the room was okay. However, in the morning when we went to go grab breakfast-there wasn’t any. The whole place was closed. And no, they did not give us any sort of discount for the breakfast we now had to go buy because we were expecting a continental one. The ladies at the front desk were condescending and all around unpleasant to deal with. Lesson learned, I will not stay at this place again and nor would I recommend it.
- DebV957 (10/5): Great place, great price! - We chose Nova for a combination of economy and comfort - only staying one night we did not want to stay in the cheapest motel, so wanted something mid-range. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find the price even cheaper than advertised online - less than 100$.
The room was beautiful - fireplace, decent layout, modern, comfortable. Nice bed, comfy pillows. Bathroom could use a little TCL just to polish it up, but was in good state of repair.
Breakfast was great! Standard continental, but also eggs made to order and bacon or sausage. Overall very pleased and would definitely stay again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel itself was ok, my sleep was cut short by winch trucks switching loads and making a bunch of noise in the parking lot at 6:45 am. Don't bother with the included breakfast that's included with your room...it was disgusting and the restaurant was quite dirty. I usually like staying at any of the Nova hotels but this one is off the list.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Using portable AC on rooms. It generates more noise making it difficult to sleep.
- Brad (8/5): Best Value in Town - 2nd time staying here, good solid hotel as I am in town for work. Best value in town as far as I am concerned. Definitely caters to out of town Oil Field workers but clean and quiet.
- Brad (8/5): Happy with my choice - Check in was very quick, room was spacious and comfortable, fitness centre is adequate. All in all I will stay there again while in town on business as it is a reasonable rate with everything you need. I am sure there are nicer, more modern hotels in town but nothing at this price point.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cleaning should be a standard without additional pet fee. I enjoy the stay but don’t agree with a fee for my pet. The varying rate from day to day is strange as well. I rented the room of the same grade at three different prices now all within a 6 month period.
- Walter (8/5): - Hotel was good but the restaurant could use some updating.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It’s an older property that doesn’t compete with the likes of holiday inn and best western. Somewhere you would go when the others are booked out.
- Hussain110 (4/5): Desperately needs a makeover - I booked 5 rooms at this hotel for our trip to Jasper. At the price I was charged ($122) I could have gotten a fancier hotel in edmonton.
The hotel gives you a look from a 1980s movie.
Let me talk of the pros first. The rooms were spacious and clean. Bathroom was washed and toiletries provided. Rooms come with a small kitchenette with crockery, cutlery, toaster, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and electric kettle. Breakfast was ok. Check in was quick. Ample parking and good wifi signals. Each room has a corner fireplace.
Now for the cons: The corridors smelled old. Bedcovers were faded. Bathroom sink was really worn out. AC was loud. Walls need to be re painted. Furniture was in bad shape. Pool is closed permanently I think. Carpets and curtains are literally screaming that they need a wash. Please see my pictures.
This hotel has a lot of potential if they can get some renovations done. If all you need is just a night's stay with no frills, go ahead and book this place. If you are looking for good quality lodging at the price charged, keep looking and book some other hotel.
- William (8/5): - I liked that the bedroom was separated from the dining area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good hotel for a quick stopover. The breakfast choices were limited.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Reasonably priced room - The room was too warm and the air conditioner clanged and clunked all night. Unfortunatley, because the air conditioner was vented through the window, the window could not be opened.
I stayed in the annex across the highway and because of stairs, you are unable to take the luggage cart into the parking lot. This requires taking the luggage up five stairs. Hard for a partially disabled person to do.
- 510iank (8/5): Excellent value, nice, clean and good value - I stopped in last night on my trip back from Vancouver. This is a very nice economy hotel. Good service, clean and well maintained. The breakfast that was included with the room was excellent as well.
I would be happy to stay here again.
- Norman (10/5): Good place to stay - Had a good stay and the staff were very helpful in rounding up an extra chair so I cold use the bedroom suite as an office to see clients during my stay. Excellent location and overall a great place to stay.
- Jim (8/5): Fairly good motel - Check in was easy and the staff was very friendly and nice. The room was clean and fairly well appointed but there was nowhere to hang coats, etc. The free breakfast in the restaurant (which is only open for breakfast) was passable but just barely. The sausages were excellent but the rest was so-so.
- Missy P. (2/5): Not as advertised - Walls were paper- thin. I was awake all night hearing people coming in and out- pool was out of order. Main floor window not locked due to AC vent unit. My sister and I were supposed to stay four nights and we left after one.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice and clean room and friendly staff. Location is perfect
- straightf0rward (10/5): Fantastic Place to Stay! - We had booked several rooms at this Inn and were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the rooms were. We stayed from Aug 04th/17 to Aug 07th/17. The place is "pet friendly" and the staff was amazing. The "free breakfast" was amazing and we were blown away by the selection and quality of food. I am highly recommending the Nova Inn Edson to anyone who will listen and will surely stay there again!
- nanaim0g (10/5): Nanaimo to Lac La Biche - Had a great time at the Nova Inn. Finished it off with the biggest hot breakfast to boot, thank you to the friendly cleaning staff too. I ran out of coffee cream and when I asked for more the young man jumped up and ran to grab me a big supply. Upon checking out the owner took the time for a friendly chat about our trip.
We will definitely be back. Thanks Josh-man
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice, clean hotel - We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was clean, and they had a breakfast buffet.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - New category: labour hotel / camp. Labour camp and should be posted in this category.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good
- Javatyger (8/5): Excellent value, great service, okay sleep - Wife and I stayed here for a night, visiting friends, and have to say we would definitely stay here again; the room was very modern, lacked a few plug-ins close to the bed, but overall a great room. It had a half-kitchenette, which was odd, fridge microwave, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, but no stove/hot plate.
We had a good sleep, but the blinds are not black out blinds and we could also hear the guest above us walking around. But like I said, the bed was very comfy, as were the pillows.
The hot breakfast buffet - poorly managed and executed and needs some serious help. Hardly anything was fresh - had to ask the cook to make more and they just seemed disorganized. But the food was good once received. Can’t complain too much as it is free, but still needs help.
Overall, we would happily stay here again and probably will soon, and I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a nice place to stay for a night or two.
- nosredan1 (10/5): Relaxing - When we booked our room ahead of time we booked a double queen standard room. When we checked in we got a suite with every thing you'd need a tv room and a actual bedroom with nice French doors to separate the two rooms. The beds were very comfortable as well. There was air conditioning that worked great. The staff was more than accommodating as we had two dogs in the room the whole time we were in Edson. The staff was again super nice when we had a medical emergency. The pool was closed but at the same time most pools close once a year for matinence. So that's no big deal to me my wife or my child as we encounter this issue quite often in all cities we visit. The restaurant from my understanding was literally going through a complete change of ownership and still were able to put on a really good breakfast of eggs sausages hasbrowns and pancakes with all the toppings. all in all great place to stay lovley staff and would definitely stay again and again and again
- shellyc195 (8/5): Absolutely no complaints here. - My husband and I had a wonderful stay here with our fur baby. Very comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Cant beat the free breakfast in the am. Pool is under repair but did not require it. Supposed to be up and running soon. We definitely would recommend this hotel in your travels. Excellent value for price point.
- cecile (8/5): Quick stay - Our stay was very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the air conditioner was quite noisy.
- Lonnie (8/5): Great place, great price, good sleep. - We had a good sleep here and the rooms are very modern and up-to-date. The only issue we had we could hear the neighbours upstairs so I wish the rooms were more quiet. Other than that, no other issues. However the hot breakfast was not the greatest and seem to be very disorganized in the restaurant.
- bug172017 (2/5): Worst Hotel Ever - When booking for a hotel one must be very aware of what they are walking into such as this hotel Nova Inn in Edson.
On coming to the hotel they promised a swimming pool, breakfast included etc but on arriving there was no such thing. According to the staff the pool has been closed for a bit and that there was a crack in the pool.
I had mentioned that the only reason why we came was because of the pool however the staff did not seem to care.
In terms of asking for a reimbursement the staff said that we needed to stay and perhaps or not we might get a reimbursement.
The staff looked like they did not care. When arriving on the 3rd floor to our hotel room it smelled like a nursing home and it was terribly hot in the room and the air conditioner was so loud that it was truly hard to sleep.
The widow to the hotel room did not have a screen and that was a concern for us because we have 2 young children.
So in terms of breakfast we were offered tickets for the meal and it turned out that it was in a VLT situation. The lady who worked there said that they talked to the staff saying that children are not allowed to come to breakfast there. So when it says that breakfast is included then there should be a separate place for families with children to enjoy breakfast.
Not sure that this will help in complaining but every bit counts.
- Patricia4941 (10/5): Nova Inn ~ Edson Ab. Canada. - We left Penticon BC. were planning on staying in Jasper, but not thinking to make a reservation we couldn't find a room tell we stop at the Nova In Edson, Alberta, This was around 10:30 at night, I staggered up to the desk, asked about a nice room on the main floor, as we we're to tired to carry luggage any further.( I am 82 and my hubby 89. ) This awesome young lady, gave us a beautiful room #111, sitting room and bath, separate bedroom with fire place, and oh, the bed was so soft and cozy, the pillows were feather. We thought we'd died and went to Heaven. We were both out 2 seconds after hitting that wonderful bed. Thanks So Much. You saved this old man and lady from sleeping in the SUV that night. This was July 4/17. We will always remember this experience. Thank You Once More Nova Inn, Edson. Hugs.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Lovely room, but the a/c wasn't working and it was noisy because of the trucks coming and going
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent hotel for an overnight stay - Decent hotel for an overnight stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- k_c_2808 (4/5): Cleanliness needs improvement - Stayed at the Edson Nova Inn for business. While the front desk staff were very friendly I was disappointed by the cleanliness of the entire Inn, including my room. It's also a bit of a turnoff when the "chandelier" at the front entrance has multiple burnt out lights.
The free hot breakfast was good.
- Murray (4/5): Broken not working stuff - Booked the hotel because it had a pool for the kids. Pool heater was broken. Cards to open the doors didn't work so front desk staff had to let you in each time you left. Free breakfast was not kid suitable. Hotel set is up for workers. Which it would work well but not for a family stay.
- Norman (10/5): Great place to stay for work or personal travel - Very pleasant, exceptionally quick and easy check-in and check-out, nice breakfast buffet included and a great room that was huge and very comfortable!
- mverberne87 (10/5): Honeymoon - Traveled Alberta and BC for honeymoon stoping at many different hotels along the way with excellent service such as Nova inn offered us. From the front desk to housekeeping to chefs and servers in kitchen. Everything was excellent
- lisamoore1977 (2/5): Nasty!!!!!! - Don't waste your money! Dirty! Cigarettes burns in blankets, walls and furniture is disgusting. House keeping starts banging at doors at 8 am, don't dare to ask for extra blankets or pillows or even towels cause there's none! No face cloths left in room. Night watch man omg heaven forbid your not in your room my 10 pm or he's giving you crap and don't dare walk in the hallways to another room with a drink in your hand or he'd chase you just to yell at you! terrible customer service, continental breakfast hahahahaha what a joke..... held in a bar, kids can only stay till 10 am, you have you pick of scrabbled egg, sausage, hash browns and French toast but lucky if there's anything left! Mud all over floors in stairways and hallways, they do have smoking rooms but travels throughout the whole hotels. Will never be back and highly don't recommend!!!
- teresat688 (2/5): Awful! - When booking the room, customer service was bad. Next to no information was taken on the phone. I hope there would be room for our pets and kids and us, which there was. Was not asked for ID or credit card upon check in, was later told the card did not go through. The proper credit card was not taken until after and still no ID was looked at. Hallways were super noisy. Could hear everything outside of the room. Room was super hot with no way to cool it down. Breakfast was awful, dried out and nasty. Looked like it had been sitting there over a week. No kids are allowed in the breakfast area which is super inconvenient travelling with children because there is no where to eat in the rooms. Front desk sent us into the breakfast area while I had a child with me and we were later kicked out 20 minutes after waiting for someone to tell us about where breakfast was or bring it to us or whatever (unsure how breakfast worked since it was in a huge restaurant). Will not stay again. Awful place to stay. Definitely recommend to go elsewhere.
- AgnieszkaB221 (10/5): Amazing stay! - Got to say, the staff at the Nova Inn is awesome! They were extremely friendly and professional during the entire stay, doing their best to help out in whatever way they could. The rooms were extremely tidy, clean and spacious. I will definitely be coming back!!
- 102Dawn (10/5): Great staff! - The lady working evening shift was amazing! Terry! Fabulous, they are lucky to have her!Friendly and courteous & knows the area! This is a nice place with great staff! The location is central and good parking too! Food within the hotel was also good!
