Guest Reviews
- froggyjosh (2/5): Horrible place to stay - Worst place we’ve ever stayed in.
Dark, smelly, and dirty. I have doubts that the sheets on the bed were clean as they didn’t feel fresh at all. A lot of fixtures in the bathroom were very old & broken.
I’d actually rather sleep on the beach than at this resort.
- Thriftytraveler56 (6/5): Mr. & Mrs. Troyan - The location is at the end of Alona beach. Not a lot of pedestrian traffic. 10-15 minutes walk if going to the main street via along the beach. Plenty of shops for souvenirs and necessities, lots of street food and restaurants and bars with live music nightly. Our room was comfortable and the ac worked great. The room was large and clean. Right on the beach. Alona beach is not that big but clean. If you’re a smoker it’s great you can smoke just about everywhere, at the bars, restaurants, even the beach. For the money a good deal. Would stay there again. Don’t use the atm machine if possible. They charge a fee about $20 more than you can get on the main island of Cebu.
- JRLua (6/5): Just OK for me and my toddler - We were given a room on the second floor. the staircase was too steep and slippery. I believe they made renovations and the changes weren't so safe for a family traveling with a toddler. The bed was big - a makeshift of joined single beds. I guess it was the best they can do even if we told them that we have a toddler in advance.e. Don't expect much problem-solving here and there. The staff was friendly and polite though.
- VinceofOrmoc (6/5): Not so great. - It's a fair hotel. I think it's one of the best hotels in Panglao back in years, but not that much now.
No WIFI in rooms... that means keep away from this hotel if you are for business travel and use a lot of internet.
Their restaurant offer really good food but is EXPENSIVE. So if you are aiming for a cheaper restaurant, do not eat there. If you are looking for a good seafood restaurant, this one is really good.
You can't find this hotel immediately as they are near the beach and is about 400-500 meters away from the main road.
- Caitlin (6/5): Bad check in experience - Really frustrating experience with checkin. They had made a mistake and checked someone in under my name already when I arrived, and then instead of explaining the situation and asking my friends and I to please wait while they sorted it out, they literally ran away without telling us anything and we had to wait for 45 minutes while they worked on it. Never once apologized or explained, just handed us the key once it was fixed. Also didn’t give us the room we had paid for, ended up with only one bed for our entire group. Was otherwise decent enough for the money and the location was pretty fun if you want to be right in the beach and bar hop.
- John (8/5): Basic but comfortable. - The area was absolutely stunning.
The resort is comfortable yet basic.
The staff are helpful
The rooms are large yet a little out of date and could use a bit of work.
Overall a very enjoyable stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We paid nearly £70 for one night in this hotel for a family room for 4.
The check-in staff did not seem aware that we were arriving.
When we eventually were served, we were shown to our room. The room contained 2 beds that were barely larger than singles. There was no window, other than one small one in the bathroom. The towels resembled 10 year old tea towels and we were only provided with 2. The taps on the bathroom sink did not work. The toilet seat was cracked and the fridge did not work.
I would seriously not recommend this establishment to anyone at this rate and believe we were mid-sold.
I would like Expedia to consider a full refund and suggest they consider whether to retract their contract with this establishment and await a response from them.
- michellematias79 (6/5): Just So-So - Rooms need to be upgraded. No hot shower, water dispenser not working, fridge smells awful. Though room pirce for standard room is php1800, but just thought they could be more beyond an old accommodation.
Diving was good with their dive center
- DAVID (6/5): unfair - on arrival I was asked to pay 1,200 peso for my son 13 years old to pay for his bed,i refused as I had already paid you ,the lady was quite strict,.on check out I was not asked to pay the 1,200 peso
,a simple basic room ,lots of good resturants only a 2 minute walk
- Stephen D (2/5): Kids at the control - I had to reset the ac 2 myself. The day I do ask for service in the room I come back and the act won’t work. If you have a problem after 10:00 pm forget it nobody is there except a security guard that he can tell you I sorry the worst place I have ever stayed at in the Philippines and the staff never smiled if you had a problem it seem like you were inconvincing them they were always looking like they were watching a movie behind the counter.
- karentoot (2/5): Tourist trap - Don’t ever come to this place. Me and my partner along with my little girl went to panglao for a vacation. We stayed in this place for two nights since the resort is close to the nearby restaurants and accessible going to alona tourist area. Rooms are eerie. Its like staying at a hospital. And the room has mosquitos, I even had mosquito bites as a souvenir from this place. Staffs are very rude especially the receptionist! I mean the place was already horrible they could’ve made it better with good customer service but nope! I asked for a beach towel for my kid waited for 5mins in the lobby and no one came so I had to go back up to my room to get the towel provided when we got there instead and take note: don’t leave your child alone in going up or down the stairs it’s really dangerous. With its price I should’ve stayed in Alona swiss resort or kalipayan resort which were better options considering the price and hospitality. Morning came the resort doesnt have its own restaurant but beside the lobby is an italian restaurant and across is a chinese restaurant which has verrrry limited options so I had to walk the alona strip and gladly I found a decent restaurant just beside the resort. The only good thing about this place is the beachfront and the bar, really! We had to transfer after two nights in another resort and glad the Ananyana is a heaven!
- 653maer (8/5): Monthsary Celebration - The main reason we booked to this hotel is because it is beach front. Actually, there are lots of things that they need to improve but the important is we still enjoy the alona beach. We kinda rush interms of searching a hotel so we just decided to book in bohol divers.
- JakiTravels (8/5): One of the Resorts that's just in front of Balicasag - When you say Alona Beach, Panglao in 2018, it means a crowded beach during peak seasons! So if your goal is to socialize in Bohol, Panglao is the place and Bohol Divers Resort is highly recommended if you want to be near the restaurants with a spot where you can still relax if you want some "Me Time" at your Villa and you can still enjoy a good and restful sleep. :)
- choyg2017 (2/5): Needs outmost improvement - The place looks creepy, very old interior. Incosistent television signal (very old televesion) and very weak wifi in room as well in reception area and also very mobile data signal. dont waste your money here. There was a very rude man most probably the owner knocks tremendously to our room as early as 5am to inform to shut down our television because he cannot sleep. like seriously? Hopefully this resort must have sooner improvements
- cattan58 (4/5): Looks like a hospital - This was a bad choice to stay at this place. The photos on the website was better than reality. A big room with nothing special. A window to the corridor. Could have been a hospital.
The receptionist just looked at their phone. Didn’t care about us until we said hello !!!
Just a place to sleep in.
- clarkrica (2/5): Like sleeping in a hospital, go find a better place - Im guessing this place used to be a hospital, was kinda creepy. Rooms were less than average, sink was leaking everywhere, and the toilet flush is broken. The pool was absolutely disgusting, full of dead flies, local kids were washing their feet and slippers when passing by, and a few of the staff washed their hands in the pool too. As soon as i took my clothes off and in my bikini to jump in the pool, two of the male staff stood by the railings watching me, i waited a few minutes incase they were just making sure im a staying guest. But they leaned over the rail, and kept gawking at me, so i yelled at them and said that its not polite to stare, then they walked away. All staff were never attentive, you’ll be standing in front of them and they wont notice you because theyre on their phone the whole time. One of the FOs rolled her eyes at me and said in tagalog to her coworker that she didnt want to go and get us a butter knife ( she didnt know i understand tagalog) For what they charge you, its a rip off.
- 991clarar (2/5): Terrible customer service, rude staff - We paid for 2 extra beds but nothing was delivered to our room. No toiletries & towels provided. When we made a follow up for the towels, the old lady receptionist irritatedly replied "wala lagi" ( I told you there was none - Bisaya translation).
Suggestion: Train your staff in handling guests properly.
- saraf_sf90 (4/5): Not worth the money - We came go alona beach late and just wanted a place to stay. We desided that we could pay some extra money for a room. We got a room with a dirty toilet, Nice bed and aircon for 2000 pesos. Go somewhere els!!!
- engkantadaha (8/5): Peacefull place to stay - Travelled with family and some friends and arrived safely from a whole day Bohol tour. Our room was located from a building but the window has a seaview of the white sand beach which makes it so relaxing. We arrived at 6:00PM on a Sunday and checked out on Monday at about the same time. We were pleased that the hotel staff did not charge us of additional day stay since check out time was supposed to be at 12noon. Next time ill be back to stay longer!
- donavella (2/5): Ideal place for backpackers - My friends and i stayed here overnight. They have white powdery sand beach. The place is affordable; ideal for backpackers.
Years ago i experience snorkeling and scuba diving with the team and one of the best experience! I feel singing a whole new world from seeing the world under...
- kajfrancisco (8/5): A good resort along Alona Beach - We've been to this resort along Alona Beach when we had our school tour. The resort boasts of a huge dining area, a swimming pool, a beachfront bar with videoke and even has a cultural night (fire dancing). The room is spacious and clean. I highly recommend this resort for backpackers.
- 926AnthonyG926 (4/5): Place Needs A Make Over - Stayed for three nights. Location is good being at the start of the busy beach strip with all the restaurants and bars so quite at night but the place could do with a make over Rooms and bathrooms pretty basic and when we first arrived the restaurant bar ran out of bottled beer after having ordered only 3 bottles. You don't get towels or toilet paper in your room when you arrive but have to collect these from reception and the towels we had were tread bear. Breakfast was ok but overall wouldn't stay here again.
- 425xiscan (10/5): My favourite dive operator in Philippines! - Our experience with Bohol divers was amazing, really friendly and professional staff and very accommodating, they sorted everything out for us so we could just relax and enjoy our dives. Pelayo, our dive master, took us to two fantastic diving spots in Balicasag where we saw incredible fish and so many turtles... i thoroughly enjoyed the dives and the company. I would definitely recommend this place and will be diving with them again.
- dominator1985 (10/5): Best dive ever - I attended here to dive balicasag. What an incredible experience, have dived all over Cebu, Central America and Thailand, the balicasag reef is pristine, I did 2 dives and they were unforgettable. The second dive we saw so many turtles we lost count.
The team are professional, attentive and have an excellent level of English. Pelayo was our dive master and he's a lot of fun, professional and very experienced. The equipment and boat were excellent. I'd have no reservations recommending this company to my friends and family and would certainly dive with them again.
- Kalgara (10/5): Diving Days in danao beach - Just one of the best diving club where i've never been.
I took three dives with Pelayo and his team in Balicasag spot.
Lot of different species and quiet sea turtles...
The bohol diving team is very attentive on the boat and under sea. They clean our équipement to prepare it for a new diving day.
They can speak in inglish, spanish and french.
Take bohol diving resort for a nice diving ans snorkeling day.
I really recommend it. Hope we will see you again :)
