• R (3/5): Overpriced and rundown. - It was available with no notice. No shower curtain, no toiletries, tattered towels. Music in the alleyway was constant. They kept most of my deposit stating a towel was “stained”. I looked at it later. It was dirt from my slippers. Not stain. They put water bottles in the room and charge on checkout.
• Michael (8/5): Very good - I book the matrimonial deluxe suite and it was a small little stuffy room that i really could never stay in. I upgraded to a suite and it was much more spacious and they came in and gave it a good cleaning for me. I stayed an extra three nights at total of five because the location was central in dumaguete. No opening windows to the outside and i had a hard time getting fresh air. Not a bad place but maybe 5 days was too much. No window to the outside which may getting fresh air difficult

I stayed in two different rooms they use words like deluxe etc they are all basic of low quality

• Doreen (5/5): Practical place for city access by foot. - We appreciated the free water and kettle for making hot drinks. The reception staff were very professional. Appreciate the ability to check our bags at check out while we still did city sight seeing. There was some confusion of what was being purchased. When I booked the room I thought we were getting the family room with 2 beds, but got the room with 2 beds. Much cheaper but very small for 2 adults. The AC was quite noisy. No windows to the outside.

• Ariel (10/5): - I booked at Golden Gates years back, it went great! I recently booked again at GG because of my previous experience with them. Golden Gates again was a great experience. Staff were very nice and professional. My flight was rebooked and I needed to stay an extra night, the transition was very fast and easy. Stores are nearby to purchase any necessities. If I’m ever in Dumaguete again, I’ll be staying at Golden Gates without hesitation.

• Cynthia (9/5): From the Location of the hotel, to the shower experience, to the wifi speed, and to all other inclusive aminities, our o - 1️⃣ Top on the list is the Location. It’s very accessible to almost all important offices and stores. Convenience store just outside the hotel, police station, arcade and fast food near by, walking distance spa and salon, supermarket, pharmacy, boulevard, and many more. 2️⃣ Second on the list is the Shower. The Hot and Cold shower is consistent according to our set preference, Since day 1 up to day 5, their shower temperature has been the most relaxing bath time we had. 3️⃣ Third on the list is the WIFI. All throughout the almost a week stay at the hotel, the wifi has been working effectively. We can simultaneously access various work sites and emails, while playing youtube on the background and scrolling social sites on multiple gadgets without having to worry about the internet speed. 4️⃣ Others: ✅Orderliness of the Room, ✅Free Hot, Warm, and Cold Water Refill at the Dispenser provided outside each floor, ✅Quiet Hotel Room, ✅Easy Access to Front desk via landline. There is almost none, though we had a bit of an exercise since there is no elevator. We had to use stairs every time we go up and down the third floor room. It would be better if there will be an elevator in the near future.

• Robert (8/5): Worked out great for a one night stay. - Great for a one night stay. Room is small but clean and was just fine for what we needed. Toilet was broken but I fixed it.
• Victoria (4/5): - The advertising pictures look nice but once you are LOCKED IN and PAID for everything, you are committed. There is NO window per room. The first room smelled like urine and cigarettes and oh yeah, it just so happened that when I walked in the building, they started working on MAINTENANCE hammering on first floor. This means the loud hammering carries upstairs. But once you shut the door, since there is no window, it is not bad. They did transfer to a room that is clean and quiet but the smell of wet toilet or mold will bother your sensitive noise. Please use CLOROX to remove mold and urine odor. Rooms must be aired out.

The location is at the center of everything, few blocks away from the boulevard, they have 7-11 right below the hotel, across of it are nearby pharmacy, market (where you can buy budbud - their delicacy) and places to eat.

• Joseph (7/5): Good - The staff are super-friendly and the location of the hotel is downtown central, so in the heart of the city and relatively close to the beach and usual city type stores if needed. As old as the rooms looked, they were very clean. Bearing in mind that there aren't that many choices for a hotel in downtown Dumaguete and that this is a budget-type hotel, it was fine for a 2-night stay. Rooms are looking worn, tired and old. They are well overdue a lick of paint and some basic maintenance... especially in the bathrooms.

Our toddler broke a cup and we were charged 380 PHP (6.24€ ~). If it ever happens to you, better get a replacement from Novo,it won't cost you more than 50 PHP. Cheers!

• Gingros (6/5): not staying there again sorry - the staffs were really great, they were all good people. what I didn"t like about our room, the toilet really stinks I'm sorry but that really bothers me. we had to buy cleaning products like zonrox, scotch brite, powder soap and room disinfectant and we really did clean it thinking that the foul smell of toilet would be gone. but I think theres nothing much to do about it. the smell of the bathroom is really awful. we did ask the staff to have it clean but when we return, the smell is still there so we decided to do it ourselves. but didn't really help, the smell of stinky urine still lingers.
