Guest Reviews
- Shannon (10/5): - The cottage was a perfect spot to stay just outside Vik. We spent 2 days on the South Coast and although we had a very short visit, the cottage was comfortable, clean and quiet.
- Sophia (8/5): - We got into our cabin with ease with the door code provided. Our cabin was hot inside so we tried to open doors and windows to learn that only one window would open. All of the other windows had had their handles removed to open and/or were screwed shut from the outside. We later found that this may be because our windows would leak during the rain. So I would not leave anything on the floor that would absorb water, our belongings were soaked by morning. We had requested 2 twin beds but this was not honored, which totally happens. The room was very clean. We would have loved to have a curtain on the front door window as one of the beds was visible through this. The outlets are on the floor in the kitchen so be prepared if you are not mobile. The shower did switch between hot and cold frequently and was startling. The drain was also very slow so you had to watch to make sure the base of the shower wasn't getting too full. By far our biggest complaint was that there was a turndown service without us knowing. Typically, when staying at locations like this the host does not come in daily. Especially when we were only staying for 2 nights. This would have just been nice to know before leaving some of our belongings here. The area was beautiful and gave us the chance to catch a little bit of the northern lights. Cell phone service was not great and there is no wifi so just be prepared! I would stay here again despite the few negatives!
- Ashley (8/5): - Kitchen had great options but we didn't use them. Location was nice, good amount of space in cabin. The bathroom and bedroom doors close tough. The shower was scalding hot and wouldnt seem to adjust cooler. I would stay again!
- Anita (8/5): - Nice cabin except bathroom door was very squeaky!
- Sheri Taylor (10/5): - The only issue was checking in. I didn’t have my code which was supposed to be emailed to me or the cottage number. That caused me a lot of stress because we were almost late arriving.
- Jessica (6/5): - The cottage is located in a very quiet and peaceful area among other cottages, which we appreciated. Check-in was generally easy, and the instructions with the entry code were sent in advance.
However, there was some miscommunication during arrival. I arrived around 3:30 PM (check-in was at 4:00 PM) and spoke with someone at the main house, which seems to function like a reception. (Or at least I thought bc it had signs and said ‘Reception’. I asked if I could check in early or drop off my bags and he said if I had the email with the code, then I could. Perhaps this was the miscommunication and he may have thought I was asking how to get in?
Moments later, a teenager from another house on the property came out and rather aggressively told us that the cottage wasn’t ready and we couldn’t enter, so we left immediately and returned later that evening after dinner.
That night, we encountered an issue with the shower: the water temperature fluctuated dramatically from scalding hot to cold within seconds. My husband was even burned on the shoulder by the hot water. I contacted the host right away, but unfortunately, I never received a response — even a week later. I even sent a message to advise that the bathroom hand soap bottle was empty and no response either.
There were also multiple flies trapped inside the cottage when we arrived too.
Overall, the location is quiet and has potential, but the communication, cleanliness, and maintenance left a lot to be desired.
- Hung (6/5): - The landlady or other manager did NOT appreciate me calling for check in instructions as per their first email. They eventually do email you a cottage and a door code.
The cottage I had (#105) does have a hot plate, toaster, plates, cups -- but the outlets are all on the floor.
The shower is very hit and miss - pulses cold, then warm. It is easy to accidentally scald yourself. Oh, we also ran out of toilet paper as well.
You do overlook a pretty hillside, though.
- Yuanqing (8/5): - This time is much better than first time. Two days ago we lived in the same location with bad experience.
- Yuanqing (6/5): - with good views all around
- Cindy (8/5): Electrical outlets on floor?!?!? - Te cottage has been updated and is okay for one night. The electrical outlets are on the floor making it pretty difficult to make coffee or use the toaster. I had to put things on the floor and then put them up on the counter. Not sure if I would stay again or not.
- Ming (10/5): A nice place close to two waterfalls - It is a clean and comfortable place with a kitchen which is very convenient. The view is nice too.
There was enough hot water for all of us (4 in all) to have showers.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
- Glenda (10/5): - Lovely cabins in a quiet area. We had a very comfortable sleep and a welcome departure after staying in noisier hotels.
- Tim (4/5): - Clean and in an amazing position, but that's where thd positives end. When you pay a high price for something you expect quality in return. I could overlook the issues at half the price charged, but..... Faulty (and dangerously unpredictable) shower, bathroom door that doesn’t shut, no accessible sockets to plug the kitchen electricals into - there's more, but you get the picture. No obvious way to communicate with anyone to fix the problems either. Disappointing and not to be recommended.
- james (6/5): - Nice location
No kitchen outlets except on floor
Very inexpensive plates chairs etc.
Very expensive, needs upgrading
- Ryan (10/5): Nice cottage - Cool little cottage in a great rural location. Not far from Vik but felt secluded.
- Thomas (10/5): - A beautiful well equipped cottage in a stunning location. It was clean, easy to get into and the view of the mountains was breathtaking. 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed there and it was small but well laid out so we felt like we had a good amount of space. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was nice to have coffee, tea and sugar (many places we stayed at on the trip didn’t so this was great to see). We would certainly stay here again and highly recommend this accommodation.
- Mags (10/5): - Great accommodation. Smooth and easy check in. Clean. Friendly.
- Ryan (10/5): - We loved our stay. The cabin had a kitchenette with hot plate, toaster, microwave, plates, cups, utinsels for 4, it was perfect for us. Hot water in the shower comes and goes but part of the experience I guess. We hiked up the mountainside right behind our cabin and enjoyed an amazing view. We hiked up to the very close Seljavallalaug swimming pool which was also cool. Loved our stay. I don't see why they won't allow check-in times later than 9pm. We were aware of that deadline and arrived at 8:30pm so it was fine, but it's just a normal key in a lockbox by the door, which means someone is removing that key manually at 9pm if you haven't checked in... just be aware of that.
- Christian (8/5): - Cabin was relatively newly built - very basic but practical. Servicable kitchen, beds were comfortable, heat worked, etc.
Only complaint was the shower - it would run fine (bordering on scalding) for a while, then the hot water would abruptly cut out. Happened once every 1-2 minutes. There was no answer on the phone line we received from Expedia.
- Jessica (10/5): - The views around the property were grand. It is an amazing property nestled at the base of some mountains. The best thing is the view of the mountain in the morning. Only two concerns; we came very late after hours and it was hard to get the access code by messaging and calling; and there was a used makeup sponge left in the bathroom.
- Maria (8/5): - Amazing stay highly recommend.
- Eric (6/5): Fire and ice cabin - When we got there the cabin was excessively hot to the point we had to open every door and window in the middle of a rainstorm. We discovered we had no knob on the heat to adjust it and it was unbearably hot. After multiple frustrating conversations with “maintenance” we convinced them to turn off the heat completely at which point it became bearable.
The next morning the shower was either ice cold or hot as lava. No in between.
The location was great. If the heat and water had any in between it would have been a great cabin. Overall pretty frustrating and not worth the cost.
- Paul (6/5): - Place looked a lot different then on website
- Jessica (10/5): - This place was much, much better than people rate it. It’s a cute little cabin -- clean and cozy. Parking was easy, and the surrounding area is beautiful. My only complaint was that the shower water temperature was hard to get just right. Otherwise, it was perfect
- Linka (10/5): - Everything was great but a hair dryer to dry our soaking wet shoes would have been a great plus.
- Hongyu (8/5): - Beautiful surrounding area. Condition of cottage was actually better than I expected, with many kitchen appliances included.
- Lei (8/5): - WiFi does not work …everything else works great
- Anup (2/5): Anup - We had to wait for almost one hour to get the code.
Please make sure you get the code to open the main door.
Main room heater was not working.
But manager came and gave us a small heater for the night.
- Chirag (6/5): - The bathroom was not in a great condition. No instructions given to operate the thermostat.
- Subhash (2/5): - There is nothing about this property worth calling out. Very poor
- R'twick (8/5): - I understand its a cabin but there were no toiletries, there wasn’t even a lock on the bathroom door. The location is nice.. view of the mountain was awesome. We enjoyed sitting outside till late night. However, giving 4 star just because of the bathroom.
- Michael (2/5): - Reception very lacking. Had to call a number but no answer using free phone on site. Once connected using international calling, communication was drowned out by children screaming in background. Cute cottage but reception ruined it...
- Ying (10/5): - Beautiful mountain and ocean views! Clean and cozy cottage.
- Odette (10/5): - The cabin was large, spacious, and clean. Beds were comfortable and private with 2 separate bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this property.
- YULIA (2/5): - I did not get email from the property informing me about check-in instructions as indicated in the booking confirmation email. The cottages (North Star) do not have a common reception desk and check-in instructions are to be provided by email. When called myself and also got involved the Avion RBC visa representative, using the phone number for North Star Cottage many times, no one picked up the phone. I did not take a risk to drive all way from Keflavik to the cottage as originally planned as I did not have on hand check in details. I did not want to put at risk my family of not being able to check in and being stagnant in the Southern part of Iceland. I had to change all my travel arrangements which ruined all my dreams when I was planning to travel to Iceland. Whoever owns the property, is not reliable at all. I strongly recommend to take down this cottage from the booking options through RBC Avion, as the cottage is very poorly managed and this can compromise Avion services. I am very disappointed. As suggested by the RBC Avion representative, I am going to file a claim and request reimbursement for all additional costs I had to pay out of pocket associated with this issue.
- Emanuelle (10/5): - It's a cute little cabin. It surprised me how good it was. The construction seems new. It has 3 beds with comfortable clean blankets. The only suggestion is : the water is beige and has a bad smell.
- Richard (8/5): - The property was clean, quiet and the area was picturesque. However, even though the property was just off a major roadway, we had some difficulty in locating it. What little signage existed was small and hard to read, especially for those of us who were first time visitors to Iceland.
- Peyush (6/5): - This property had basic amenities and is ideal for folks who want to detach themselves from their busy schedule, internet et al. I would have preferred a bit more.
- Denise (2/5): - While international understand this is a cottage, the service was horrible. We stayed 2 nights- we were not provided with toilet paper or paper towels and the sheets were dirty. If this was an inexpensive option I wouldn’t have complained-however this was the most expensive place we stayed and the worst conditions
- echo (2/5): - Almost no internet signals! Hard to control the water and cold water, so taking shower was a terrible experience. Smelly sink. 5/6 flies was inside, my husband spent 30 mins trying to get them out, then gave up.
- Richard (8/5): - Our family of 8 adults and a baby booked two of these units. Sleeping In the common space - aka kitchen - was less than ideal. And the lack of a couch or any comfortable chairs was also less than ideal. The physical location of these cabins was quite pretty and being in the Golden Circle made all that we wanted to get to was simple.
- Yu-Shan (8/5): - Beautiful view of the mountains nearby. Also, there is a 2 km hike to an outdoor hot springs.
- Stephen (6/5): - Basic accommodation nearby many great sites. A tight fit for 4 people, but got a good nights rest. Cons: Most windows don't open, very few hooks, view from front porch is of a large number of new small huts.
- christina (8/5): - Loved the location and the views - the best place we stayed in during our week of travel and we stayed at 3 different spots.
PROS: location, entire cottage to yourself, separate bedroom for kids or adults, front porch to sit on and enjoy the views, great kitchenette with a small table and 4 chairs to sit at, easy enough check-in, good hot water
CONS: wifi was terrible (but okay T-mobile service worked most of the time), the bathroom window didn't open to air out steam from shower or anything else for that matter and didn't have a shade or blind to block out the sun (need this for summer!), also needed a blind or shade for front door diamond window esp if sleeping in the main area bed (we used a towel and hung in doorframe), not enough hooks to hang jackets or wet towels or both! (i think there were 2 in the bedroom in the entire cabin and with the inconsistent weather you could have a fleece, raincoat, and down puffer jacket in one trip!, pricey
overall a great place to crash and have a 'home' to go to - would recommend.
- Tomasz (10/5): - Beautiful place
- Karen (10/5): - Great place
- Jianhui (8/5): - The way to get the cabin number and access code is to call them beforehand. Somehow we don't have a phone able to call. There is instructions to reach a phone but not clear. Indeed there is a phone in a nearby barn like house. We knocked the door but no one answered. You actually just open the door yourself. But how dare you enter someone's house in a strangeness country.
The cabin itself is ok with all required facilities. The environment is very good too.
- Xi (10/5): - Clean bathroom, great views
- Melanie (10/5): - It was a bit confusing to find as the sing on the road said North Star but the street signs did not so we drove around a bit. Once we found it check in was a bit confusing to call and get the code. After that it was perfect! Clean, just what you need, but not more. We layed under the stars in the grass and saw the northern lights! No one around, no noise, no light pollution, it was magical.
- Linda Vidler (10/5): Wonderfully serene! - Wonderfully serene. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Parking was right next to the cottage. It's not far to the next town, so shopping isn't hard either. The valley behind the cottages goes right up to the glacier.
- Satinder (6/5): - I liked the location. The view is incredible. Unfortunately, there were spiders everywhere. The property managers were responsive and came in to clean the place. However, all night we were killing these spiders. The place is a bit rustic but I quite liked that
- Haiyan (6/5): - Convenient location
- Erica (6/5): - No wifi, no hair dryer, whoever sleeps downstairs hears every single noise those who are upstairs are making.
- Keyur (10/5): - EVERYTHING WAS GREAT EXCEPT NO WIFI
- Monimala (10/5): - Beautiful !
- Ruben (8/5): - Beautiful area, cabin was a cozy place to rest.
- Mark (8/5): - Great location, nice amenities, only downside was the shower is very small and curtain rubs you while you shower
- Patrick (4/5): - A basic cottage. Open design (no closed bedrooms). Was quite clean with the exception of the shower. Kitchenette was very old, misaligned cupboard doors, and minimal counter space. The shower was also very old and in need of an upgrade. An old small plastic unit with missing door, and jury rigged with a cheap plastic shower curtain. A bit disgusting. With the exception of the kitchenette and the shower, and the lack of Wi-Fi and cell service, it could’ve been a reallyq nice place. Would not go back there
- Lenka (8/5): - Nice area, beds upstairs are quite difficult to reach.
- Antonius J (8/5): Iceland Scouting Trio - Did not get an email with the key code. Had to find out how to reach the owner when I arrived in bad weather. The sell the place as having WiFi, but that is oversold. There is a one bar wifi and zero internet connections. Furthermore, the phone reception is so bad that internet over the phone is not possible either.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The area is beautiful and the cottages are great. Others have complained about the amenities, but I thought everything was fantastic.
Only hiccup was getting checked in when we had only one phone with questionable service. Could have used more info in advance.
Overall though our favorite place we stayed during our trip.
- sophie (2/5): Would not recommend - Terrible place and dirty. Leaking wall, growing white fungus on the leaking/wet wood panel in the bathroom. There was also leaking in the bedroom wall. Shower water pressure was very weak, like trying to shower under a trickle. My son got 29 bites on his body during our 2 night stay there. This place might have been infested with bed bugs. Don't recommend any travelers to stay there due to uncleanness and potential health issues.
- VALERIE (4/5): Worse experience in Iceland cottages - Self check in with no front desk and no wifi. The cottage is quite old as the bed linens and towels are torn and worn. Water flows in the standing shower is choked thus flooded the whole toilet. No heater in the toilet, and heater in the room seems to be not working.
- Barbara R. (10/5): Perfect retreat cabin - Two of us only stayed in the cabin with a loft. I found the beds in the loft very comfortable and there is plenty of room up there. Ceiling height does taper so not enough height to stand in. Young children would need help on the ladder. My travel partner stayed in the bedroom and said his bed was super comfy. Reason for 4 stars on check in is because I was not emailed the access code for the lock box. However... the manager arrived within mere minutes to let us into cabin. Would highly recommend. Especially for anyone interested in a bit of peace and long rolling grasslands. The posted pic depicts the property perfectly.
- Brian (10/5): - Beautiful location. Very comfortable. Toasty warm.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Do NOT stay here. The staff is awful, the bungalows are not as described nor are the amenities. This place and the staff are awful. It shouldn’t even be on Expedia.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small cabin, no staff on premises - Nice little cabin but we didn't get the correct beds, 2 twins and a double, like the website indicated. There is no staff there, so you need to go in the bigger building, follow the directions for check in
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place, easy access, cozy, yet in the wild with nice view.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Lots of spiders inside the cottage. Without WiFi. Low water pressure
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This property was a little disappointing. First of all, if it comes up in a search for a hotel near Vik, don't believe it... it's not. It's about a 30 minute drive away. However, on top of that the place is ok. The cabin that we stayed in was ok, was nice that it had a kitchenette, but some of the cabin needed redone. No WIFI and very limited cell data on the phone. The biggest issue I had tho, was the communication with the management company. I never received info on how to check in (no front desk). I did eventually get in contact with them. In the instructions, they REPEATEDLY stated that checkin needed to be by 9:30 pm and that there was no after hour check in... Well, the check in is a lockbox. We went out of our way to cut our adventure short that night to get there by the check time. VERY DECEIVING. This was the most expensive place that we stayed in Iceland and the most frustrating. Honestly, I wouldn't stay here again. I don't recommend that you do either.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The cottage is a good spacious wooden one-bedroom house, good for a family of 4 like mine. A kitchenette is provided with microwave, fridge, electric stove. Check-in is done by getting the key from the coded box. The location is nice, about a kilometer from Route 1 near the mountaintop. So, it is hidden from strong wind.
Minor bugs, which can be easily fixed by the management:
(1) I was emailed that my cottage is #5. Actually, it is #105.
(2) The strict check-in from 4 to 9 pm is claimed. It is unclear why late check-in is prohibited taking into account the above-mentioned coding system with the key. The only explanation is that it is difficult to figure-out in darkness what cottage to approach. To eliminate the no-after-9pm check-in restriction, it is sufficient to place the additional road sign in front of gates and to have neon cottage numbers visible in the gloom. Definitely, the email should notify the guests about the darkness for late check-in and the necessity to have a light in order to take the key from the coded box.
(3) The doors are screaking, which is bad for night use of toilet. Adding a bit oil can help.
In general, I recommend this cottage system to travellers.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was great and isolated which was nice. Does not have tv or WiFi and bathroom and kitchen need updating
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay in the cottage. North Star sent us very clear instructions for check in . Property had no reception but we followed the instructions and put in the code and found the key. NP. Cottage is super cozy. Right next to the Skogafall. Great stay . Will def stay again. Thanks a lot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Property was well maintained. Had very good experience staying in the cabin
- Rob (10/5): Peaceful place in a tranquil setting. - I like the bunk beds up top. It was nice and cozy and all these sheets were nice and it was clean and it was nice and warm in there. It was most beautiful the scenery was very good you could see the glaciers in the back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was rustic, but modern. There is no oven, internet, or TV. The area is beautiful and the cabin was in a very good shape. There are two electric burners and pots and pans to cook with. The property is 20 minutes drive from Vic, the closest town. We liked the place and recommend it for great rest and relaxation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was in a beautiful location. The cottage was not the one pictured. It was very small. It was clean, cosy and warm though. There is one bedroom and the other bed is in the main room with the kitchen, no couches. There were holes in the sheets and duvet covers but they were clean. We were missing cutlery, not enough forks or knives for the 4 people sharing the space. Also no plug for the kitchen sink. No wifi.
- Sahel (6/5): Very Basic Cottage - Great location but less than ideal conditions. The sheets had holes in them, the blinds were a little tattered and there was less than a quarter of a roll of toilet paper for a two night stay. That said, the beds were comfortable and it has what you need to cook. If you’re just looking for a comfortable place to stay with a kitchen it’s a decent choice.
- Marilyn (4/5): - This can be a charming location, but it needs more attention. Rustic is good and we enjoyed the surroundings. The linens, while clean, were on their last threads (literally the threads were bare). The shades did not fit the window and in the land of the midnight sun they should be able to block out the light. Instructions should be clear about location and how to get there. We were not the only ones who had difficulty finding the cottages. The end table from the bedroom was used to hold the microwave. There was no information during booking or at the cottage were to get food, either for cooking or for restaurants.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Best place to rest after long days of adventures and driving around Iceland.
- Bára (8/5): Cabin near Eyjafjallajökul - It's a comfortable and usefull cabin.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - beautiful cabin in the middle of a picture perfect mountain/valley setting.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Short stay - Too small for 4 persons and many flies in the cottage, could be cleaner in general especially toilet. Better maintenance should be given.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved staying here, it was so simple and rustic. Very cosy and just what we needed. We were only 2 so might have been a bit more squished if there were 4 adults but with 2 children would be fine.
We would definitely stay here again.
- Chris&Lee (10/5): - Location actually close to Hwy 1 which is not too difficult too find if you come in a day time. It is a perfect spot for watching Northern Light. There is new cottages very close to this one. But we like this cottage more.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Perfect Iceland Adventure Cabin Experience! - My partner & I loved this cabin! It was comfy, clean, and minimalist. It had the most AMAZING views surrounded it- right at the foot of several mountains! We wish we had booked it for several nights.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It would have been perfect but we stayed there for a night and the weather was bad. Some soundproofing would help as the sound of the rain and wind kept us awake.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Cottage 3. Absolutely no hot water in the shower. Tried to call property manager. Phone busy or disconnected. Emailed. No reaponse. Called expedia and had them call nothing. Was ok but not really being able to shower for 2 days because it was 26 outside and water temp in shower about the same was not acceptable
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very new, modern triangle roof, full window cabin...unfortunately did not at all match the travelocity pics, so was cinfusing at check in.
No linen/pillows for 2 or our 4 guests (kids).
Automatic check in procedure, so make sure to have access to your email or a printed copy upon arrival since you will get no help from anyone there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We didn't get cabin as it is on hte picture, but much smaller
- Stefan (10/5): Overnight stay during our tour of Iceland - Great comfy place to stay nice and cozy.
- laura m. (10/5): Cute, comfy and warm little cottage in a beautiful setting. - This cottage was exactly what we expected. It was very cute and homey. Very warm (we were there in January) and extremely comfortable beds. Would recommend this to anyone looking to "get away from it all" while in Iceland.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful log cabin with equally amazing views - A great find in the middle of almost nowhere which is exactly what we wanted. We arrived in the middle of the night so we didn't get to see the amazing views until the next morning, very easy to book with a secure code for the cabin so there weren't any issues with check in etc. An amazing stay and will definitely recommend as an alternative option to a hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely and modern cabins. Great location for day trips into Vik.
- Matthew (8/5): Good cabin - Nice cabin overall. The check in was easy as they emailed us a combo to our lockbox about a week before and then we just walked right in to our cabin when we got there. We stayed in January so there were very few other in the adjacent cabins. The bathroom floors were heated which was very nice. It was a little small for four people but not too bad. It is only a short drive and walk from Seljavallalaug pool.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm. Nice guest house in the farm.
- Kelly (2/5): - Gave us gps instructions that didn’t work so we tried calling and she wouldn’t help. 2 hours later in rain we had to walk 300 yards in thick mud to our cabin. Horrible, the very worst place I’ve ever stayed
- Cristina (10/5): stunning location - everything was amazing, lovely spot with everything i needed to make meals. heating is great. location is stunning. no wifi so great place to get away.
- Annette (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a warm, clean and beautifully located cabin. Would go back in a shot if we could! Lovely to find it warm on arrival!
- Terence (6/5): It does its job as shelter and nothing more - Its great location to access nearby attractions. Thats about it for good points. It does it job as a shelter. It has the basic amenities but nothing more. I would choose this location because you are looking for a simple stop, a centralized location for attractions near by, and while touring around iceland.
Just keep in mind it lacks the following:
- water pressure
- wifi
- cell phone coverage (at most 2 bars, mostly E or no service).
I drove 2 minutes to a nearby market and used its unsecured wifi.
