Guest Reviews
- serenet757 (6/5): Great hotel, just need to be upfront or be explicit about pricing proactively. - Hotel is great for budget price and if you want a modern amenities.
5 star = amenities
5star= Hotel staff
4star=Noise ,I asked for road facing room.It was like concert. If you are sensitive you need to consider it.
0 star : I asked for the bill, and the staff quoted 3k. Surprised, I reminded them they’d said 2.5k earlier. Then the manager/owner jumped in, insisting it was 3k and dismissing my prior conversation with the staff. He also pointed out we checked in at 6 AM and checked out 6am today, seemingly implying extra charges, but none of this was mentioned upfront. I didn’t argue, just paid and left, feeling it wasn’t worth the hassle.
The staff were very responsive, when I told the receptionist midway through my stay that the AC wasn’t working, she immediately said they’d send someone to check, and if it couldn’t be fixed, they’d move me to a room where it worked. This sole reason made me not argue about the bill. But now, thinking back, I want to share this so others are aware, whether it was a misunderstanding just on my stay or something they do by design.

Hotel Shreesu @hotelshreesu
📌Entrance and Reception:
The hotel is strategically located within the Thamel Marg. It is a hidden gem in this busy street.
The Staff and the owner are superbly accommodating. Your needs will be attended and there will be constant follow-ups.
It has an elevator so no need worry about carrying your baggages.
📌Room:
Room is luxurious and has a stable wifi connection. There is a flat screen TV, a mini fridge, a safe lock for your belongings and sofa chairs facing the beauty of the Thamel Marg. The room is secured with a key card.
The bed mattress was extremely comfortable. It was way better compared to some of the hotels I stayed with in Doha.
Daily housekeeping services with free bottled waters are included. Daily supply of toiletries and fresh towels as well.
📌Food:
The breakfast is from 0630H-1000H in the hotel's cafe located in the ground floor. The breakfast is a-la-carte. Make sure to call the reception first before coming down to have food, because sometimes it is closed (at 0630H) depending maybe on the number of guests currently checked-in.
📌Amenities:
There is no swimming pool or any recreational facilities but you can visit the 6th floor wherein you can see the beauty of the Kathmandu Valley.
📌Check-out:
Hassle-free check-out (less than a minute only). We just surrendered our key card.
Conclusions:
5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
They are also offering airport transfers and tours. Their tours were budget friendly compared to others and their tour guide was really accommodating. You can personalized your tours depending on your preferences and likes.
The owner will be with you as well during your tours.
You can have a segue outside your itineraries.
You can arrange and request special events like birthdays or anniversaries. The owner is glad to provide the best services possible.
Expect loud noises in the middle of the night because of the bars near it, honking of motor bikes and likes.
Thank you @Agoda for the discount and cash-back!

- RyanB188 (6/5): Bring your ear plugs - Decent hotel, valued mostly for its location in Thamel. A great spot to shower and drop your bags while you explore. Spent 3 nights here and didn't sleep until 1-4am given the windows don't close 100% and there is a busy bar/night club behind the hotel that pumps tunes until at least 1am, on the weekends it's later.
Otherwise the hotel offers everything you will need for a comfortable nights stay. Shame about the noise at night.
- TanzirC (6/5): Good Location and Ok hotel - The hotel is on a central location of Thamel. Stayed there for one night only. The room was decent sized. Looked nice initially but when we went for the bed we found hairs and dusts under the duvet, we didn't complain though as we were there for just one night. Hotel staffs very quite smiling and helpful. Breakfast was ok. I would not complain much if you are looking for a budget hotel this might be a good option as the staffs and other amenities are good, the cleanliness thing might have been our bad luck.
- svlord (4/5): Poor sleep - Lovely feel. Beautiful breakfast. Horrible sleep.
Stayed twice. First time had a street view room. There is a shrine with a bell just down the road. It was cute to hear it rung during the day. Not at 4am. About 3am the night clubs started to empty and you could hear everyone go home.
Second time I had a side view overlooking what looked like an empty block. But below my window was one of the night clubs. At 3am the music just seemed to get louder.
Would eat here again, although it was nothing that special, but would not stay again.
- 444stephenl (10/5): Overall, very positive experience - Stayed at ShreeSu with a group before heading to Everest. They kept all out clean gear whilst we went hiking for two weeks. Staff were all very welcoming - from the security, to receptionists, cleaners and waitress.
Location is fantastic, yet quiet. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. The decent shower was welcome too!
If I really wanted to be pedantic, I would say the internet isn't that reliable, but this didn't have a negative impact on my stay at all.
- 472nidih (10/5): Excellent Service - We stayed at ShreeSu prior to our EBC Treck and right after. Great service, employees and the owner took a great care of us, everyone was very helpful and friendly. We even left all our belongings that we didn’t need for a treck at the hotel. I can highly recommend staying at this hotel.
- Ghemarcus (8/5): July 2019 Visit - Good location. Easy exit from Thamel.. Inhouse Restaurant is superb. Plenty of tv channels.
Internet is acceptable. Great breakfast and friendly staff..
They allowed me check out late as my flight is 1130 pm.
- travelcrazy2000 (10/5): Excellent hotel at an economical stay at most popular location in Kathmandu. - Many trips I made in the past to Kathmandu and still continue my business trips there and I had my stay in different hotels there. But for the past 4-5 trips I stayed in Hotel Shreesu and my experience in this hotel is marvellous. Located at Thamal, the most busiest area where can enjoy night life and good food. Most of travellers especially from Europe, America & Asean countries are filled in this area. Hotel situated in the Thamal street itself, but you don,t have to judge from the outside. But once you check-in you will find the stay is comfortable with the budget they offer. 24 hour reception, Check-in and check-out formalities are fast. Excellent housekeeping. Good air conditioned rooms, bathrooms are clean, shower with hot water, towels etc. Room are quite and no disturbance. There are no kettle and coffee in rooms except luxury rooms, but in my case, they provided one in my room when I checked in. Lift is available to all floors, accessibility is good to rooms, Room services are excellent and they will be present any time upon our call. WiFi is very good. Although street is bit congested, location is very good. Many good restaurants around and many dance bars are around, night life is excellent in the area. People who look excellent hotel with budget stay, Hotel Shreesu is the best pick. I am going to stay in that hotel next week for 10 days, I called their reception over phone, and since I am their regular customer, they offered me very good rate for a luxury room for my stay and thanks to Mr. Sansh and appreciate to him to his business understanding.
- alexxpto (10/5): Very Good - Amazing for the price. Excellent location and very good rooms. Only the window glasses could be better (they are not double thus sometimes we hear to much noise from the street). Breakfast also very good. I really recommend it.
- PKWalrus (10/5): Great people, food & location - I've stayed at the Shreesu several times in Kathmandu now, the most recent visit in February 2019 for 6 days. The staff there is exceptional. While walking around I got a bit turned around without my cell phone and asked someone to call the hotel for directions. They came out an found me within 10 minutes and personally walked me back to the Shreesu.
The staff is exceptional and the breakfasts are the best in Kathmandu. It's also a great location downtown with plenty of restaurants and shopping all around. A excellent choice anyime you are in Kathmandu.
- shanghaitraveler (8/5): All I needed...clean, quiet and hospitable - Great little hotel...quiet, nicely situated and clean. Arrived late, checked out late and no problem at all, very helpful! Elevator was a major bonus! I’ve stayed in larger more expensive hotels in Kathmandu and had to lug bags up 4 flights! Staff helped me get a taxi to the airport in a flash! Would definitely stay again. Nice to stay with the smaller hotels, more personalized service!
- Mahima_Shr (10/5): Exceeded my Expectations - great location, lovely rooms and very helpful team. I was provided with a luxury room which was spacious and very comfortable. The guy at the front desk made sure our stay was comfortable. Would definitely stay here
- blumaryn88 (10/5): Recommended! 👍🏽 to location n hospitality. - Took a few wrong turns on foot but the spot is actually nicely located on a Main Street in Thamel. Area is good for imitation trekking stuffs, and for temple travels. Even to airport. Room exceeds expectations at that budgeted price. Food is aplenty, just need to find gems in small lanes. The hospitality is v warm n helpful. Recommended!
- aranhelena (8/5): Good budget hotel - For the price I paid, hotel was great! Perfect location (a little noisy at night, but night life does not go on too late in Kathmandu). Good bed and decent bathroom. Neither very big, but perfectly adequate. Wi-Fi ok. Nice staff. Did not have breakfast included, so didn't try it. Only complaint was no hair dryer and safe was out of action. Was promised a new one, but it never showed up. But for $20 a night, was a good deal.
- Joanne2218 (10/5): Lucky enough to be moved here from another hotel - When I went to check back into my original hotel (Kathmandu Eco Hotel) and was told I'd be moved due to my room not being ready, I was apprehensive. However, upon entering the lobby of Hotel Shreesu, I realised how lucky I was. It was exponentially nicer than my old hotel and that continued when I got to my room. It was spacious, CLEAN, modern and comfortable. The shower/bathroom had modern and pretty luxe fittings - especially comparatively. Best of all - the bed was comfortable! The mattress wasn't hard as a bench, like the one I'd become used to. The staff were friendly and helpful, without trying to hard sell me tours or anything else. Genuinely loved my stay there and I would stay there again in an instant. I liked it so much that when my hotel tried to make me go back with them, I refused and stayed on at Shreesu.
Great location right in the centre of Thamel, security guard and actually quiet for the area! Breakfast was also good.
- TresSdk (8/5): Nice hotel - Stayed here for 2 nights i.e before and after ABC trekking. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient, requested them for airport pickup upon arrival in Kathmandu. The room was spacious and welcome drink was offered to guests upon arrival. The security guard was kind, helped to carry bag and sent to bus station for bus to Pokhara at 5.15 am in the morning. Overall a good experience and will stay again in future.
- Rahul (2/5): Great staff. Poor hotel. - Staff were excellent but the hotel was not as advertised in the photos. Bad smell in the bathroom. No ventilation in the rooms. Just a shame it wasn’t as advertised on hotels.com.
- peachyn2018 (10/5): Fantastic Hotel & AMAZING STAFF❤️ - Shreesu is my 2nd home in Kathmandu. Fantastic friendly place to stay when traveling alone as i felt secure while being in the heart of Thamel. Great value for money with AMAZING STAFF. The breakfasts were good and filling with sufficient variety of choices.
Thank you all for your help❤️
- Divya Karan (8/5): Good Stay - The stay was good. Breakfast served was good though not much variety was offered. My room was extremely small with no windows so it was quite suffocating. Overall it was a good stay but I don't think I would choose this hotel again.
- JuliaG741 (8/5): Great location, great staff and nice rooms. Recommended - I loved staying at the Shreesu hotel. You cant think of the best location - right at the heart of the Thamel district (though it also means some rooms' windows may overlook discobars) plus the staff is more than friendly, helpful and speak fairly good English.
Our first room was Standard room and only had one little window in the corner which made the whole space slightly less appealing. I think it was 303.
After the trekk though we treated ourselves with the Deluxe room (301) and were more than happy to have such a spacious, nice room with a big window, couple of comfy armchairs and a large bathroom.
On the days when I got too overwhelmed with Kathmandu, getting back to our room, ordering couple of cups of masala tea was a real treat and a way to recharge.
Very thankful to the staff for all their advices and help too.
Look no more. Stay at the shreesu hotel.
- wasiquealam (10/5): Great value for money and the location is fantastic - We stayed there for four nights. It was right in the middle of tourist area, the streets of Thamel. The reception staff was excellent, very polite and helpful. The rooms were spacious, and had all the services expected of a hotel. However, one area of improvement is may be include toiletries and other amenitieis like shower gel, shampoo, etc each day.
- Youssef (8/5): Good hotel - Very good location! Friendly staff however a permanent sewer odor stayed in the room!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel at good price on a relative basis. New, very good breakfast, ample rooms and good bathroom. Great staff
Two issues: wifi is not 100% stable and they charge 3.5% when paying with credit card, which is not announced in hotels.com or at the hotel
- Michael (8/5): Very convenient small new hotel in Thamel - Very much enjoyed my 12 day stay there The staff were all friendly and very helpful . I was updated from a back room to a front room due to my complaint about a Nepali bar with thumping base music until 12.30 am every night. No noise control regulations here in Kathmandu and the bar owner is sweet with the police allowing him to do as he likes. The breakfast buffet of Asian and western foods was great .
