- Steven (6/5): Not pretty, but the price was right. - My wife would not have stayed in this place. But I was OK with it, and the price was right.
- Donald (10/5): Ggood Time - My wife and I went to the Lake for swimming and fishing. Although the room was not brand new it had everything we wanted. A big Jacuaai Tub / Large fridge / nice shower/ big TV and a comfortable bed. The fishing aand swimming were a walk away. The manager Rene was very helpful/ We will stay there again.

- Joseph (2/5): - The place was filthy. The bath tub had sand or dirt from the last rental on the dirty towels were still hanging on the door. The heater unit was so loud it keep you awake most of the night. I rather of pitched a tent in the woods and saved $70.

- Ed (8/5): - Close to fishing at the spillway. I caught a Muskie a few steps away from our room #32, under the bridge on the Southeast side of the bridge using a floating Rapala. Bought minnows from the motel and caught a Drum on a minnow. The motel put on a great fireworks show on the fourth and we could also see the fireworks show that was on the other side of the spillway on the lake.

Unfortunately the batb was full of dirt and alot of hair that qd had to clean out and pull from the jets, it qas super gross. The toiletries were half full and had hair stuck to the, the shower was just as bad as the spa bath. Over all i think if your wanting a really nice get away, i would choose somewhere else for the amount we we were charged.

- Doug (4/5): Road trip - The shower was horrible and the lock on the door broke while there. I was afraid to leave the room as I might not be able to get back in. People were nice and location was good but it needed maintenance on some of the room features.
- David (8/5): Good value. Can’t complain for the price. - I felt I got what i paid for. I was very old and dated. But I felt the towels and sheets were updated and clean. Floor clean. But probably not ideal for a younger wife.

- Alisha (2/5): - This place is the most ghetto place I’ve ever stayed at. White stuff all over the black bedding, no coffee in room but coffee pot in the room. Paint on the walls looks ghetto.
- Russell (6/5): - The staff at the spillway motel and BAIT SHOP were friendly and helpful. we arrived super late at night and check in was not a problem. Our room was not clean, you could feel grit on the floor and a spill in front of the refrigerator was dried to the floor. beds were made but one mattress was heavily cupped in one side and the support was terrible. the tv worked fine and there was a working microwave and refrigerator. There was also complimentary coffee, single cup coffee maker. The only saving grace was the location was super close to the lake and park our event was at. Im pretty easy to please and I'm sure, with a little extra effort on the managements part this place could be acceptable to most anybody. the price was cheap by any standard for mid summer.
- Lisa (4/5): Below “No frills” - The place was a dump. The ceiling was sagging so bad which makes me think of tons of water damage and mold. The shower wasn’t too clean as I could see globs of soap on the wall. Bed was very lumpy and the springs were poking me. Both bedspreads had spots all over. The lady at the front desk was very nice though. The AC worked great!

- Tammy (6/5): - Initially booked through Expedia . .. dates didn't match up but they had a room. For $67.00 a night it was a place to sleep. One bed had stains on the sheets so we had to sleep on the sheets covered by the blanket with the "comforter" on top. Very close to where we had to go fishing. Not a Marriott but it did what it was supposed to do!!

- Brian (10/5): - Room was clean and you could smell the bleach on the pillow cases and sheets - the patch job in the drywall was very poorly done in the bathroom and the microwave was dirty but overall it was a nice stay I would go back and it is right next to the river I went out to smoke and I could hear the water coming out of the dam it was relaxing just wished I had a chair to sit outside and enjoy the sounds of nature. Overall it was a nice stay 2 thumbs up 👍👍

- Kenneth (2/5): totally bad night! - We arrived on Friday night. Check in was quick. We arrived in our room and that's when everything came to a head. The room stunk, the carpet was dirty, and the bedspreads were just plain nasty. The bathroom needed cleaning badly and the door wouldn't close completely. We checked out the same night. We paid for 2 nights and didn't stay for one. We got 1 night re-payed.

- Cathleen (2/5): - We arrived at the hotel and we were told they had no vacancy and they did not have a room for us even though i showed them my reservation from hotels.com. thankfully our friends that had a campsite were able to accommodate us for the evening.
- John (2/5): - Room was filthy and looked liked it had not been cleaned in months. Room was infested with flies which front desk said is normal due to location near woods. Bedding was stained and dirty, floors were dirty and had dead bugs scattered about. Entry door looked like it had been kicked in due to a large piece of the door frame missing inside. Rear window had broken locks and could not be secured properly. Garbage was left from previous occupants in room and fridge. Bathroom was filthy and had dirty towels. Even the flatscreen TV had blown speakers. Left a day early as the room conditions were so bad. For a motel under "new" ownership that supposedly has been renovating for the last year I don't see any signs of any updates or basic cleanliness. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Large regular refrigerators in the rooms are a HUGE plus to keep your fish. 2 minutes until you drive to the boat ramp. Older motel owners are in the process of fixing. Comfy mattress. Nice people.
- Randy (10/5): Yearly family gathering at Lake Shelbyville. - The host and cleaning crew were very accommodating and friendly. It’s seems the owners are always trying to make improvements to the motel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Will think twice about staying again - Service was good. The Motel definitely looks better on the outside. The floors needed to be mopped. There were a lot of bugs in cobwebs that should have been cleaned long ago. There was a lot of wear and tear on the rooms, which some could be addressed. Towels were very thin.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Dirty METH BUG HAVEN - Hotel of horrors!! Dirty doesn't even begin to describe the rooms. Holes in doors, mold in the bathrooms, dirty bedding, towels, pillows etc. Bugs!!! DEAD Bugs and live BUGS everywhere! BLOOD ON BEDDING!!!The hotel had meth addicts and prostitutes in and out consistently. When staff was notified of dirty bedding, they were very rude and handed me yet another dirty blanket. I would never ever stay there again! This hotel made Rob Zombie horror movies hotels look fabulous!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Owner met us at the front desk eating a powder donut. The floor had more dirt on the inside then there was outside. The towels were stained with who knows what. Not only will I never stay at this place again, I would also discourage any other person from staying there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I didn't like all the long term renters that were living in the motel. It seems to have grown and I get people have to live but it's just unusual. One of the underaged people asked us for a beer. Thankfully one of their friends spoke up and said she wasn't of age. It was just unusual. The new owners seem really nice. We hope they keep the property up. There were no fisherman with boats in the parking lot, which was really unusual. There were new signs up saying quiet hours start at 10pm too. They didn't bother us when we were playing some low music outside between 10-12pm. I liked that I was able to get a fishing license right in the hotel office, that saved me a trip.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Quaint Little Hotel - Its an older strip motel. Current new owners are working to improve all. New exterior, clean rooms, great service. I will stay there again next year. Very reasonably priced. Right on the river under the spillway.
