Guest Reviews
- Kendi (8/5): - Good
- Stefania (10/5): - Good
- Canan (10/5): - Ein schönes Hotel, sauber, hervorragende Lage, Zimmer groß, gut eingerichtet, man hat alles, was man braucht, sauber! Sehr nettes, zuvorkommendes Personal. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswertes Hotel!!
- Michael (10/5): - I liked that the breakfast buffet had alot of different food options such as eggs, sausage, sliced ham, pineapple, papaya, watermelon, avocado, brocolli, croissant, seasame bread, ect. I also liked that the view from my room was amazing. I could see the river and the mountain from my room. The hotel staff was very friendly and polite. They got us in contact with our tour guide for Machu Picchu (Eddy) who did a great job. There is an elevator at this hotel. The hot water in the shower worked fine. The sheets on the bed kept me warm during the chilly night. The wifi worked excellent. Something I didn't like about the hotel is that there isn't a fridge or microwave in the room.
- Felix (10/5): - Tudo okay. O pessoal da propriedade são muito atenciosos.
Excelente!
- Patrick (2/5): Owner is a thief!!! - Don't go here!!! The owner is a thief.
I booked a room here and when I showed up, the owner answered the door and told me he was closed. I showed up well within their posted check-in time.
Then he has the audacity to say that I don't "qualify" for a refund!!!
It's a good thing I was able to find a hostel nearby or I would have spent this night out on the street!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very accommodating staff. Good breakfast. ELEVATOR! Hot shower. One of the staff took my luggage three blocks to the train station for me.
I would stay there again.
Buenas camas, buena ubicación y personal impecable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good services, all staff are friendly and cheerful, most importantly they are helpful through their hearts. Location is a bit (a few hundreds meters) far from center, very convenient but keep tranquility.
- John (4/5): - I had to book another day due to rail strike and booked wrong week by accident. I stayed the week before but they wouldn't refund the incorrect booking.
- Michael (10/5): - I loved the sound of the stream off our balcony with its view.
- Patrick (10/5): - I was fortunate to have a room with a balcony overlooking the Urubamba River. The sound of the rushing river flowing past the hotel brought a sense of tranquility that I wasn't expecting when I booked the hotel. It is within a 2 minute walk to the town center. My room was clean and the shower had hot water.
- candido (10/5): Machu Picchu stay. - Very friendly staff. Could not be any closer to the bus to Machu Pichu. Clean comfortable room and very good breakfast.
- JEFF (8/5): Not a bad place to home base from - Smelly bathroom and subpar breakfast, but very friendly and accommodating staff. All other aspect were good, and view & location were amazing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location to trail was perfect with beatiful mystical river views.
- Philippa (8/5): Nice spot on the river and near town - Nice spot overlooking river and quiet but still handy for the town
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This property advertises a restaurant on Expedia, but they either do not have one or it was not in operation during our stay. This was aggravating because the restaurant was one of the key reasons we booked this place. Otherwise, staff is friendly, hotel is close to bus stop for Machu Picchu, and they have a nice breakfast buffet.
- MargaretandBill (10/5): In a quiet area, next to the river - We enjoyed our time here. The first room we were given had no view - except of a building. We asked for, and were given, a front room with a river view. No balcony, but we pulled up the two chairs in the room, opened and window and enjoyed the sounds of the river and mountain breezes. Breakfast was early enough that we could enjoy the buffet, with hot eggs cooked to order, before catching the bus up to Machu Picchu. We only stayed the one night but the room was comfortable, not spacious but comfortable, clean and had a portable heater provided for those cool nights.
The staff was very helpful as we asked for directions and help with a variety of topics.
- Jeff (10/5): Diamond in the Hot Water Rough of Aguas Calientes - This is a very nice hotel in the very touristy town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). The service was top notch for all parts of our one night stay. We arrived in the afternoon and asked if we might have a river view room. The desk clerk graciously gave us a beautiful 3rd floor room with a balcony overlooking the river (first and last photos below were taken from the balcony). The street below gets a little busy with transit buses starting around 5 am but if you are going to Machu Picchu, you probably want to be awake by then anyway. The complimentary breakfast service begins at 5:30 am and was really nice. The bus to MP and train station are easy walking distance. Finally, the hotel will store your luggage for the day while you journey to MP then, if you wish, deliver it to the train station for your departure when you return, a really nice perk. We would stay again for our next once in a lifetime trip!
- jen (10/5): Luxurious. Best hotel stay in Peru! - Luxurious. Best hotel stay in Peru! Wish we stayed another night or two!
- Luis Manuel (8/5): Great! - Great money / value hotel! Recommended
- Kevin (8/5): On our way - We are in peru for vacation. This hötel is still being built, bu is in very good shape. Theyneed electrical outlets by the bed.
- Jack (8/5): Nice hotel with good breakfast but TV's don't work - Hotel staff is very friendly & helpful. The rooms are okay, but they lose their satellite feed too much (maybe it's only during the rainy season) & suddenly you have no internet or TV in the evening to watch after a day of hiking around Machu Picchu. A good solution would be to put DVD player's in all the rooms & keep a good selection on movies on hand so people can watch a movie (English and/or Spanish) no matter how the weather is outside (weather is cause of the TV signal loss) or if the hotel guest doesn't speak/know Spanish & they want to watch something in English as there are few channels which use English as their language. We lost our TV signal for hours every day & the internet signal worked in the main lobby, but not in the room. The breakfast was good every day & they'll make an omelet for you if requested & the hotel staff/worker's were very helpful & want to please guests.
- Gerardo (8/5): Good and relaxing. - most of the points of interest are close but the hotel is located in a dark street and away from the rest of the downtown. the hotel conditions are good and the freakfast is very good also. We liked to listen the river all night because that sound relax.
- SONNY S (6/5): - hotel is very near station, reception english is poor but friendly, good breakfast but location is humid and noisy because near river.
- thomas (6/5): A good, average hotel. - Nice enough hotel. Next to river which sounds no louder than an air conditioner. I liked overlooking the river, great view and being slightly away from the center if town but only a 4 minute walk to it. Front desk people were very nice but spoke little to no English which made for some miscommunication moments. Provided breakfast boxes and lunches when we went to Machu Picchu early. Nice service, but 2 pieces if fruit and 3 pieces of dried bread with one cheese slice and 1 ham slice and no condiments as a little hard to choke down. It was free so can't complain too loud. Breakfast in the morning was adequate. Room was Spartan but beds were comfortable. Overall a solid middle hotel.
- Jackson (10/5): Ótimo hotek - Ótima localização. Atendimento excelente.
- Matt (8/5): Nice, clean hotel with a great view of the river - We had a room overlooking the river and since it is now rainy season, the river was coming down very strong. It was a beautiful sight against the backdrop of the mountain. The room was clean and spacious with three beds as requested. Enough hot water. Very good breakfast starting at 5am. Friendly service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel. Beautiful view. - I was very pleased with this hotel. I walked there from the main train station in about 15 minutes. It’s just down the hill on the main road. The trip to the famous MachuPicchu site was as easy as walking back up the hill to where the buses were stationed. The balcony was great. It overlooks the roaring Urubamba River which provides excellent white noise for sleeping. My stay seems to have been on low season, so I’d go back during high season to see how lively the bar and restaurant would get. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and spacious
- Verified traveler (6/5): Generally okay - The distance can be slightly far although walkable to the central area. We went during the rainy season and as a result, there was a lot of noise from the water in the river down below, and there was not much sound-proof from the window and the wall. internet was slow and barely useeable. breakfast was just okay.
- Steven (10/5): Hotel Santuario Machu Picchu - was a wonderful location, close to where to catch bus to Machu Picchu, also location near entry point tto begin your hike. balcony views of the river, breathless.
- Janet (10/5): Very nice hotel! - We loved staying here. It was close to the train station, bus station, market, and downtown. Very beautiful and clean hotel. Our beds were very comfy, and the staff was very nice. Delicious breakfast! We would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, close to bus stop and train station. Very good breakfast. The room was OK, but has a moldy smell.
- richard (10/5): Not to be confused with the Sanctuary Lodge at top - This hotel is located at the base of Machu Picho in Aguascalientes calientes requiring bus ride to citadel site. Aguascalientes calientes has no taxi service
- Kat (6/5): Just average - The hotel was very dark. No lights on in lobby in evening and very dark in hall by my room- so as a single woman traveling alone it was uncomfortable. Room was ok. Bed comfortable and clean. Taps didnt work properly. Old room - not very modern. Location was fine.
- Douglas (10/5): Riverside room with view - Great location on the Urubamba river, one of very few hotels in town with a view of Machu Picchu mountain. Great staff, helpful and accommodating every request even taking our bags to the train station. Highly recommended!!
- Annie (8/5): excellent - checked in and and went to bed, So comfortable . The hotel is warm and the staff are friendly.
- Daniel (8/5): - Great location walking distance to everything. Not the greatest hotel but if you are looking for a budget hotel in the heart of the action this is the place.
- Fernando N (10/5): Great Service - This hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the train station which is convenient. It's right next to the river which is pleasant. Most hotels in this area are loud due to being so close to the train tracks and this was not at all. There was a portable space heather but we did not use it. Overall clean, had a small balcony overlooking the river. I fell very ill the night I stayed and we called reception, they had a doctor at my room in 30 minutes. Amazing service and truly saved my trip. Would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Well kept hotel with attentive staff - Santuario is up scale to other nearby hotels. Room was sizable for our family. Full breakfast was very nice. One additional welcome perk was luggage awaiting in our room and inclusive luggage delivery to the train station on departure so our bags were there after a day at Macchu Picchu
- margarita (8/5): very nice people - hotel staff was very nice, trying to help. highly hospital.
- Juan (10/5): Camp base to Machu Picchu - IN this town this is the best. Cordial staff, good breakfast, clean and comfortable beds. Called an MD and nurse to rescue me from severe dehydration and bacterial food poisoning acquired at one of the most affluent hotels in Cusco. Thank you for these staff members and this hotel.
- CLIFFORD (6/5): Travelocity's rating 4.7 out of 5 is misleading. - The room condition is substantially lower than my expectation. The room was not comfortable at all but I had no choice as our travel guide failed to make reservation ahead of time. So I had to do it at 11th hour. But I must say Ines at the front desk was nice even though she had trouble finding my reservation.
- Lorna (8/5): Very nice view on the river side a
Good hotel.
- Very nice view on the river side of the hotel. My ear plugs that I always have when I travel helped as the flowing river makes it difficult for a light sleeper like me to sleep.
The day time receptionist was very accommodating as she transferred me to the first floor from the third floor upon my request. There is no elevator and the higher altitude in the city makes it a little difficult for an older person like me to get up the stairs.
In all, my stay here was very comfortable.
- Michael (10/5): Aguas Calientes (Machu Pichu village - Excellent location overlooking the very loud Vilcanota river rapids. Close to restaurants and buses to Machu Pichu
