Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the size of the place and the air conditioning and cleanliness
- DGF (10/5): - Unique. Digby does not have a hotel proper, but they have a number of places like this one. 3 queen size beds, huge room, old restaurant washroom, a fun place to stay. Worked well for us. Don't expect anything beyond a place to lay your head and you shall be delighted. Right in the middle of the town of Digby, enjoy.
- Carmen (10/5): - After reading reviews this property looked perfect for us. Bonnie waited late for our check in and even kept the restaurant open so we could eat. The room is open concept and has everything you need. The space was nice and our family could finally spread out. I would definitely book this property again.
- Patrick (10/5): So HUGH! - Such a huge, beautiful room! Fridge, coffee & tea service in room. Cable TV, Netflix & YouTube. Very helpful hosts. Heart of downtown Digby is a plus!
- Jason (10/5): A comfortable sleep - I was pleasantly surprised. At first I thought it might be a hostel where others would stay with you but it's not. It seems to have once been part of the dining room of the restaurant. Cool decor. The room was a bit unconventional but it had everything you need. The bathroom could use a bit of updating, it's cold and so could the lazy boy and sofa. It's spacious and comfortable. Great location for walking around, nice hostess too.
- Robert (6/5): Deceptive pricing - When searching on Expedia for a stay for 2 people this place shows up as $65; then upon booking a $25 charge for extra person shows even though stay was for my wife and I. I called and asked before checking in and was told extra charge would not apply as just 2 of us then was told the same thing when we checked in. Later on received an email from the owner regarding the rate charge that included charge for extra person. My wife called the owner who said that the extra person charge would be reversed. However this has not happened despite being told 2 times that the extra person charge would not apply and being told by the owner that it would be reversed.
Again the pricing is very deceptive for this accommodation and we were told that the extra person charge would not apply and then would be reversed however it has not been. I do not recommend anyone to stay here when the owner does not follow through on what he says he will do and will say extra person charge does not apply then adds it anyhow.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A bit large for my needs, but certainly central. - Enjoyed the proximity to some great restaurants. I enjoyed the town and had a great run
- S (8/5): Very nice upgrade! - The room was as advertised. However, I can't say a whole lot about it because the owner, after eating at his restaurant next door (excellent Chinese food at very reasonable price), upgraded us to a 4-bedroom house on the waterfront at no extra cost (literally one minute away from the ferry). We were a little confused about our invoice and spoke to the owner about it, as I thought we might still be owing. He is very honest. It turned out that we didn't owe anything more.
- Gary (8/5): Large room, well-located - Very large room, has adequate facilities:sofas, dining table, fridge, microwave, coffee/tea.
Need carefully read fine print of surcharge of extra person beyond one, but price still fair ( half taken at booking).
TV reception a bit difficult, but TV unit has facilities for other options: games, youtube, etc. for kids.
Some may love the large size, but others may find it odd.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very strange accommodation in an old restaurant - - by far the strangest accommodation I've ever slept in:
- sleeping room is an old abandonned restaurant
- the table still in its old restaurant position and still equipped with cuttlery in a typicle stand
- bathroom is the old ladies bathroom (still written on the door), still equipped with paper-towel dispenser and operative electric hand dryer
- good price
- microwave oven - though part of the room according to description - needed to be seen to only on request
- Tom (8/5): The family room - A hugh room with 6 beds, nice TV, air, frig, microwave. It's a room next to a Chinese Restaurant. The room use to be part of the restaurant apparently.
It was convenient to everything.
Please note there were only two of us and the room more then met our needs.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Large room with 4 beds. No window coverings on front door. No cable, only access to you tube.
