We asked if there was other room with a better mattress. She switched us to another room and the same thing. We called the front desk and told her. She said I’m sorry. They didn’t offer us our money back. We packed up and went to Paddle Ridge Resort where we got a wonderful bed. Thanks.

Traveling by train meant you need to rely on shuttles that operate only during high season and many need reservation months in advance.

- January (10/5): - It is a wonderful property. We stayed in the beautiful lodge with a great room downstairs and 12 rooms upstairs and downstairs. Our room was spacious with a door to a deck. The staff is so friendly. Every day we were given “snack bags “ for the day. We stayed five nights and were very comfortable. So were the beds!

Especially enjoyed the white water rafting and dinner experience. Addie was the best river guide and cook!!

Soggy lawn in front of the lodge every morning because if the sprinklers - hard to walk, even harder to drag your luggage! Would be good if they build a proper tiles pathway. The railway cafe just has pre-made stuff they heat up plus the morning staff there wasn’t very friendly. Evening staff was lovely though. The basic tea/coffee they serve there was available in the room for free but the morning staff there said she had no idea!

- David (10/5): - We wanted close to GNP entrance and this fit the bill. Great room, nice size, good bathroom, trail snacks provided each evening for next day. There are less expensive options but after long day in the park, if you want a quick drive back, this is the place.
- steven (2/5): - I was very disappointed with my stay. The room had no TV, which was unexpected, and the environment was extremely noisy, making it hard to relax or sleep. On top of that, customer service was essentially nonexistent — no one seemed available or willing to help. Overall, I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. There was also some sort of stuff stuck to the wall that had a bunch of flies stuck to it. Your complementary breakfast comes in a paper bag that they hand to you when you check in, with some stale granola bars. DO NOT STAY HERE

- Suzanne (10/5): Perfect stay for a trip to the stunning Glacier National Park! - Great Northern Resort was perfect for our holiday at Glacier National Park. Location just minutes away from the west gate to the park. Room was very spacious and extremely comfortable with all the amenities one would require. A beautiful spot and very peaceful - we loved our time here.

- Alyssa (4/5): - Great to stay in a two story cabin equipped with a kitchen and patio! This was very close to West Glacier entrance! However, this property needs s lot of maintainence (broken AC unit, broken landscaping lights, weeding, scrub the bird poop off the front patio, fix TP holder, windows don't lock), and the owners need to replace the pots and pans (they're Teflon and very scratched up), the dishes are all mismatched, they provided 7 champagne glasses and 1 wine glass but no wine opener (you have to buy one at the gift shop)..
- Cheryl (10/5): - We had a wonderful experience at the Great Northern Resort. The staff were wonderful Very friendly and helpful. The room was great! It was spacious, clean, quiet and convenient to Glacier National Park. A big surprise was the daily goodie bag!
- Priscilla (10/5): - Family owned lodge that shows! We stayed in the lodge and it was so nice. I loved the set up, the deck overlooking the premises (wrap around) and the vaulted ceilings. It was so quiet too. We never heard any of the other guests. The ice machine came in handy, the complimentary snack bags were life saving before hiking and site seeing. Highly recommend!

- Kerry (10/5): - The lodge is so cute with a comfortable common area for the guests. We enjoyed meeting others who were staying there on the outside deck. They also provide hiker snack bags which came in handy!
- Molly (9/5): Convenient, comfortable and clean - We never saw the staff, but they left us little snack bags, which was really nice. The rooms were comfortable in the front deck was a nice place to relax after a very busy day. Not much of a view, considering you’re at glacier. That’s about it.

Note in room said no service unless we put request...they had a door hanger that said " out sightseeing, please make up room" we put that on but they did not clean room ...had to call for towels and to empty trash. - Verified traveler (8/5): Adorable lodge! - Amazing little place right outside Glacier National Park! We loved the area and chose Great Northern for its location. We were a 5-minute drive from the West entrance to Glacier National Park. The lodge was adorable! The rooms all open up to a main sitting area with a grand staircase. There were hiking bags with fruit snacks prepared for us! The room had a TV, microwave, and great bathroom products. The ONLY downside was the bed comfort. The mattresses are old. We could feel the springs when sitting or laying on the bed. We actually read the previous reviews stating that the beds were uncomfortable and decided to go for it anyway because location, location, location! Despite the spring action, I actually slept well, so it might not bother you either.

However you had to drive to Columbia falls or whitefish for food/dining or grocery which was atleast 30mins from the property! But overall I loved my stay! The staff was friendly and the room/bathroom were clean!
- Kaitlyn (4/5): - Cabins were not clean. Sprinklers would turn on randomly so we couldn't have a fire in the evening. Unkept property, the pond was gross but dyed blue. The only good thing about this stay was the view.
- Samuel (9/5): Superb - Beautiful lodge set up and surroundings. Nice comfortable room and bed. Not a big deal, but the walls are thin. You can hear everything from the next room, the common area, and the room up above.

- Kathy (9/5): Glacier NP layover - Spaceous room with nice bathroom. Lodge was clean and comfortable. It was a short easy drive to get to Glacier National Park. Grounds were clean and walkable. For the price of the room. breakfast was NOT included and the "sightseers breakfast" was full of calories and sugars... The light on the deck shined thru our window all night (we're very light sleepers and this was annoying) even tho it's covered with some sort of film and there was no way for us to block it :-(
- Nancy (6/5): The staff was wonderful, the Lodge is beautiful - just hope it’s not raining when you’re there. - The ‘Lodge’ is beautiful! Our room was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff was terrific! The Lodge is a separate building behind what you see in the pictures. The day we arrived, it was pouring down rain. The parking lot in front of the office and to the Lodge is gravel and was full of big puddles and muddy. Just going up the steps to the office was a bit scary. I thought I had requested a first floor room, but obviously I hadn’t done that. Our room was on the second floor (and no elevator). I knew we could not get our luggage to our room, but the young lady (who was in the office), quickly said they would help us and they did! Thank goodness they did because the gravel sidewalk from the parking lot to the Lodge was completely under water (as well as all the grass around it). If we had moved our luggage it would have been soaked. The staff here was wonderful and the Lodge itself is beautiful! Just hope it’s not raining while you’re there.

Our room did not have a TV and also be aware that some driving will be needed to get to a food establishment. We stayed on days that the Sunflower cafe was closed which was right across the street but most other restaurants were further out

- Debra (10/5): - Overall, it was a very nice property. Since it was after Labor Day, the hot breakfast wasn't available. I wasn't too enthusiastic about the brown bag breakfasts as fruit sticks aren't my thing or the cinnamon loafs. I did like the granolas, though.

Only a snack bag to tide you over in the morning Too far to walk to West Glacier facilities. A couple of places to eat over the road, which was a super fast highway to cross.
