- Jesse 83 (7/5): Not 5 star but OK - Kind and responsive staff , excellent customer care. Size of room and bathroom.
Food
- Aleksandr (7/5): Хороший отель, но есть недостатки. - Приветливый персонал, всегда порядок. В номере всегда была вода, чай, кофе. Район шумный, спать можно если только закрыть окно. Нет холодильника и кондиционера

- Wedge (8/5): Noisy neighbourhood lovely staff. - Best of all were the friendly staff especially robi and favour and management. Noisy area and a bit dangerous at night .
- Elize (5/5): - Bad location.
Not 0m from the Nairobi National Park as stated on Bookings.com. We couldn't even see the National Park.
- Terry (8/5): - The hotel has a lot going for it—friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and very good food. The city view from the room was a nice bonus and made the stay feel special. However, the hotel is located right next to a stadium, which can get quite noisy, especially during events. If you’re a light sleeper or looking for a very quiet stay, this might be something to consider. Overall, a pleasant stay with great service, but the noise level could be an issue for some guests. Make sure you check events at the nearby concert Stadium if you are a light sleeper
- Eduardo (6/5): - Personeel vriendelijk Onwetendheid over wat wel en niet inbegrepen is zoals ontbijt had het niet in pakket en ze hield vol van wel na ontbijt sorry foutje en dan ontbijt betalen

- Christopher (9/5): Recommended and would stay again - Good breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very clean hotel, rooms and staff were amazingly, very welcoming and friendly. Well located to the city. Outside noise can get a bit loud
- Ismail (6/5): Pleasant - Was ok the staff are friendly value of money no is too expensive for staying for 1night and I have to pay nearly ten thousand shilling Kenya money which is not value The rates are too expensive also they say all inclusive not value for the money also they say to check out late was not available only untill 12.30 pm they offer me even the hotel was not busy no much of tourists very quite I will never go back again. Worst place to stay

- Mbithi (10/5): Great Ambience! - I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Rio and i promise to come back again i will also recommend others to visit and enjoy the good service they offered me. From the entrance, check-in room size and cleanliness, all was great! Nothing, perhaps location only which they do not have control over.
- Senthil (9/5): Superb - Excellent customer service and the staff are very understanding of our request.
- Mark (9/5): Superb - We were welcomed well, the accommodation was excellent. The food was superb. The only thing that let me down was that the room i was allocated never had hot shower capabilities.
- Ken (10/5): Excellent - Hotel Rio was a great base for my business trip. Its location near the CBD and JKIA was super convenient. The room was clean and comfy. Loved the spa after long days! Food at the hotel was good too. Definitely recommend for business travelers.
- Naomi (10/5): Fantastic stay! - Loved my stay! The food was delicious, especially thelocal dishes. The room was always clean and comfortable. Great location, too! Nothing
- Mophulane (4/5): Staff very friendly, willing to assist and welcoming. Terrible location, felt unsafe and its noisy. - Due to my schedule i was not able to have breakfast. The facility i suppose its value for the money that was paid, it was fairly reasonable to pay 2k for 2 night,so i guess its quality was worth its price. The staff was very friendly and willing to assist, especially Abednigo. The location of the hotel is horrible!!!!!! if i had known where it is located i would not have booked there, and i suppose it explains its price. i felt unsafe, i would not recommend anyone to stay there. id rather pay more for safety than stay there.
The hotel looks old as you walk in, and the reception area wasn't always clean. For the 2 nights spent there, the shower water was cold.
- Wambui (9/5): Superb - The breakfast varieties were many to choose from, and the food was amazingly done. The meal presentations were awesome with very friendly staff and would book once more.
- Paulette (8/5): Very convenient location for tourists - The hotel itself is modern, clean, and very professionally run. The staff is outstanding and couldn't have been more accommodating. Having a good restaurant in-house is also very convenient. The location in the midst of a booming local street economy is interesting, and being next to the Langata Road and all the tourist attractions located there is a real bonus. It is also closer to the airport than most. As a pre- and post-safari base, it worked out very well. The queen rooms are not as roomy as they might be and the availability of king-size or twin rooms would be positive. However, one whole wall is windows so the rooms are bright and airy.
- Ernest (10/5): Hotel Rio was a delightful surprise! The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, making m -
- Anastasia (7/5): Good -
- Kirigia (1/5): Horrible they did not even apologize. - Nothing I had booked 2 rooms and was arriving late from a long flight. getting to the hotel I was told the hotel was fully booked. I had booked my rooms well in advance so I was wondering what they were talking about. They mentioned something like booking.com did not forward my reservation to the hotel ( I don't know what that means because the rooms were paid well in advance and the hotel did not communicate this to me.) It was too late for me to look for another room and I was tired. This is unacceptable and unproffesional for an Hotel to take reservation and payment when they know they have no room.
- Al-tajer (3/5): Poor -
- Afghan (4/5): Disappointing - The place are undesirable and noisy.
- Abdirahman (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kennedy (7/5): Good - Proximity to the city center. No air conditioning.
- David (4/5): - Poor staff service. Do not lodge their expedia bookings and takes time to find. Overall a poor experience
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Robert (7/5): Good -
- John (9/5): I was very happy with the hotel. It is in a noisy spot, but no problem inside the room. - The room needed more light.
- Muhammad (9/5): Superb - Good Good
- John (8/5): Would recommend brilliant stay would definitely go back - Staff went out of there way to help you in every way they could rooms were very comfortable excellent food good bar all locals made you feel welcome
- Jay (7/5): Good -
- Josephine (8/5): It was worth it. - The meals were tasty and value for money. The reception staff were very professional. Josephine and Consent were remarkable! The room was still noisy, even after we were convinced it was the quiet room
- Mesfin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bilquis (7/5): Good -
- Michaela (7/5): Good -
- Brian (4/5): Disappointing -
- Qilin (1/5): terrible - nothing when I booked the room, the price was 48.6 USD , however when I checked out, she charged me 61 USD. is that good? moreover, there's always a puddle in the bathroom of 412. and the bathroom door couldn't keep open. never come
- Ato (2/5): Very poor -
- Vidminas (10/5): Comfortable stay with outstanding staff - All the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They helped us check in late after our arrival in Nairobi was delayed, stored our bags for half a day after check out, and organised a masseuse to come in on request. The hotel breakfast is also really good. Hotel Rio's location is excellent, being a 15 minute walk away from Carrefour, a large shopping centre with a Safaricom office allowing foreigners to register for a Kenyan phone number and M-Pesa; the city centre is 20 minutes away by Uber. The WiFi is strong and stable, suitable for remote work. There are no nets around the doors or windows, so every evening, we spent a while catching mosquitoes before sleep.
- Sankarganesh (5/5): Passable - Wifi is too poor.
- Emil (7/5): Good -
- An (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rollason (7/5): Good - I thought it was good value for money and was perfect for one night. I would have explored the neighbouring areas but they looked a bit rough.
- Joshua (8/5): Very good -
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (10/5): Exceptional - The stay at the hotel was great, the staff helped us at all times, thanks to the team for always being attentive to us and especially the two guys at the reception were a charm, thanks Jhosepin
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Dinesh (8/5): Very good -
- Dorcus (5/5): Passable -
- Talib (8/5): Very good - center no wash tap in the toilet after poop
- Millicent (9/5): Superb -
- Lusungu (7/5): Good -
- stojan (10/5): - People are nice and friendly
- Margaret (3/5): Poor -
- Nashon (8/5): Very good -
- Paulina (4/5): - The bed was horrible it was like sleeping on a table top. Weird people hung around the reception felt insecure. Food and service staff were great
- Celine (10/5): - We had a nice stay at rio, staff real professional and friendly.
- Tamer (10/5): - It was 1 bay just for resting
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent place to stay the hotel is at a convenient location for people interested in exploring different parts of Nairobi.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent customer service. - A good place to stay in Nairobi close to city center.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The stay was wonderful the free breakfast was cold but I managed other then that my stay was great I wish they put a do not disturb signs on the door
- jack (8/5): Nice hotel for the price - I would certainly stay here if you want to be economical. It’s clean, looks new and staff are great.
- Abdulkadir (10/5): good short stay hotel - good hotel but they need to improve on the breakfast and limited parking space for guests
- D B (4/5): Could be a nice hotel but in a very noisy location - Misleading details on website. There was no manager available to answer my questions on why the website indicated that the hotel had a gym only to be told it was under renovation with no alternative suggestions or offers. I asked why there were just four TV channels but the staff on duty said they had no idea and would send someone to the room to see what they could do but no one appeared even though I had offered to pay to receive extra channels to take away the evening boredom. The location was so noisy at night due to local bars and traffic that it was impossible to sleep. Most of the staff did not even say a courteous hello may be because I was an African...
- Clayob (2/5): They gave away our room - Due to an accident in the NBO airport our flight was delayed for 6 hours and instead of arriving around 23.00, we arrived around 3.30.
The room had been paid in advance and on the reservation it was mentioned that there was no need to confirm the booking and that the room would be available also for late arrival. To our surprise when we arrived the hotel was fully booked and our room was given away.
We were given the most ridiculous excuses like the fact that the booking was for the 27th but as we arrived after midnight, so it had become the 28th, our booking was no longer valid as it was no longer the 27th. After insisting they had to find a solution, they gave us an unfinished room, in the sense that there was no tap in the sink and there were no light bulbs but considering how tired we were we accepted. The bed itself was good and the sheets were clean but it was not worth the price we paid.
The next morning, after barely 4 hours sleep, we went for breakfast. The booking mentioned breakfast buffet included but there was no buffet and we had to pay for the breakfast.
Not recommended.
