- McGirl1960 (10/5): Quaint and Comfortable. - The Alpine Motel was a great experience from making the reservation by phone until we turned in the keys. The proprietor was friendly and knowledgeable. He anticipated most our questions and even provided a list of restaurants for our convenience. The outside of the motel is well kept and beautiful with flowers everywhere. The inside is clean and kept up. Its not new but, if you have traveled out west you know that some properties have been neglected. Owners know people need a place to stay and will rent them anyway. This is not the case at the Alpine. I recommended it to other family members who traveled there after our trip. It was one of the better stops on our 2 week trip.

- Susan (10/5): - We had a good stay. We didn't expect luxury in a town of 77 people, but room was large for the two of us and it was clean. Nice guy at the desk with a very friendly old dog. Unfortunately the businesses on the side of the street with most of the restaurants were closed due to a water main leak so options were pretty limited for food, so many of us hung out on the porch outside of our rooms and had a few beers - it was an unexpected group activity. :) We did hear the upstairs guests in the a.m. but not when we were trying to sleep. A good bargain if you are needing a rest before the Beartooth Highway or Yellowstone.
- Jean (10/5): - The Motel is located in Cooke City, MT, a small community of a couple hundred people (at most) just outside of the northeast entrance to Yellowstone. All of the accommodations in town are a bit on the rustic side. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with room service, a pool etc., you won't find it in Cooke City. If you are looking for a quiet, clean, well cared for property with polite owners & managers, this motel is the place for you. I've stayed here on numerous occasions, have enjoyed each stay & without any hestiation, will stay there again.

- Russell (4/5): A lbit disappointed,expected better for the$$ - We were very misled by the hotel.com sight for the Mountain View. The room was definitely not worth $300 a night. We were at Alpine Too. Floor was weak in the hall to get to our room. The outside door didn’t close properly. No couch in the living room,it was a very uncomfortable wooden futon. We had a day that we had no water because of sewer line repairs. The doors didn’t shut properly to the room. Back porch was damaged and just had a board placed over it. Our Mountain View was mostly covered by a tree. If you sat on the back porch you could smell the sewage vent from the building directly in front of the porch.

Everything we needed as we explored the Northeast corner out the park. Town is an easy walk with enough food options for a short stay. If you are worried about AC, pack a portable fan.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Great place, our fav in Cooke City - I cannot say enough great things about Alpine in Cooke City! Chad the manager goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. The place is located in the middle of Cooke City with an array of rooms to stay in. The WiFi is great, as Cooke City does not have cell service. The laundry room is clean and free for guests! The northeast corner of the park has amazing wildlife, fishing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the park. We stayed at the suite next to Miners restaraunt and the building is 128 years old! Highly recommend to enjoy all things Yellowstone and taking things at a relaxed pace.

- Amy (4/5): - I NEVER SAW THE STAFF. I DID LIKE THE HUGE FLOWERS, HOWEVER, THEY WERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DOOR AND SO TO GET LUGGAGE IN AND OUT OF THE ROOM YOU HAD TO GO AROUND THEM. KEEP THE FLOWERS JUST MOVE THEM OUT OF THE WAY. THE STEP UP TO THE ROOM WAS KIND OF HIGH AND SO I WORRIED I MIGHT TRIP ON IT. THE ROOM IS SHOWING ITS AGE, THE SHOWER UPSTAIRS IS LEAKING AND YOU CAN HEAR IT WHEN THEY TURN IT ON AND THEN SEE THE WATER MARK STAIN ON THE CEILING IN OUR BATHROOM. THERE WAS NOT NOISE CANCELLING INSULATION IN THE CEILING AT ALL. THEY NEED A NEW OR BETTER VACUUM. WHEN I REMOVED MY SHOES AND WALKED AROUND THERE WERE ROCKS AND DIRT THAT WERE ON THE CARPET AND WE ALL TOOK OUR SHOES OFF. IT WAS A QUAINT PLACE IN A WAY OUT AREA . WE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO NOT HAVE AMENITIES, NO POOL, NO BREAKFAST. HOWEVER, THE PRICE WE PAID WAS TOO MUCH FOR THE ROOM WE GOT. I DON'T THINK I WILL STAY HERE AGAIN, I WILL PAY A LITTLE MORE FOR A BETTER QUALITY HOTEL, WHEN I COME THROUGH AGAIN.

- angeleyes27 (8/5): Rustic but expensive motel - Cooke City is very small, only one street of a couple blocks. This place is a 50s style motel type. The room is comfortable with microwave and mini fridge, but has a small bathroom with just toilet and stall shower with the sink in the room. Blankets were adequate. Outside looked like it needed some paint but everything at Yellowstone is expensive and so was this at almost $200 a night. Bed was comfortable.

- Excursion51236816679 (10/5): Alpine Motel in Cooke City: great clean place to stay - The Alpine Motel located in Cooke City Montana is a great place to enjoy the northeastern part of Yellowstone National Park. The staff is friendly and accommodating to your needs. The rooms are clean and quiet. The location provides easy access to the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park where you will find Lamar valley with its abundance of wildlife. It is also the gateway to Beartooth Highway which has breathtaking vistas of the surrounding valleys and alpine forests and lakes of the Beartooth Mountains. Beartooth Pass is at 10,947 FT above sea level. The town of Cooke City itself is a wonderful experience. The people are friendly and welcoming.
- Heather (10/5): - Cute little hotel! Basic amenities and perfect for an overnight stay. Rooms are decent sized, bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and the shower had excellent water pressure. Fresh coffee made by the office in the morning was a plus! Easy check in and out. We love this little town and always stay one night in the area.
- Katrina (8/5): - A very nice hotel - it feels nostalgic/ old fashioned (but in a good way!). Clean and comfortable. Great stay for passing through town. The only thing we didn't like was that there was no air conditioning, which is unfortunately common throughout the area. We would have kept the windows open but there were no screens and lots of mosquitos. Despite the room being warm, we slept comfortably.
- John (10/5): - Cooke City is a walk back in time, a very small, quaint mountain town with limited dining/shopping options and zero cell phone service. The only cell service was through the hotel's wifi, which worked fine. The ice machine wasn't working, so I had to purchase ice at a nearby gas station. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay here. Wish it could have been longer.

We were at the beginning of the season but the location just outside of the park was good, motel was clean and it had hot water. Expectations were at that level and it was fine. Good sleep. Some things to work on from a maintenance perspective, but overall, recommended along with morning donuts ate the Sinclair Gas Station.

The shower was absolutely fantastic, water will get hotter than we can stand ( which has never happened and was amazing), this would work great for the sledding folk, and shower had fantastic pressure.
