Guest Reviews
- Chris (8/5): Very good, quiet, well run small resort - Very enjoyable three-day stay. Other bigger resorts nearby not so well run (dining out experiences). Friendly, efficient staff. Would re-visit.
- thomas (10/5): Amazing Facility Incredible View! - Excellent boutique hotel every room has ocean view. Low key location and area. Nice restaurant and bar and pool all overlooking the ocean.
Truly amazing facility! Small hotel left my valuables in my room never locked the door.
Snorkeling in front of hotel at reef, has dive shop with dive sites 5-10 minute boat ride.
I travel the world extensively this location is special as is the service and attention!
You will not be disappointed.
- Clarence (10/5): - .
- David (6/5): - Pool was not cleaned and pump not running
- Oscar (10/5): - Amazing!
- Fredric (10/5): - It is a small resort with a great location and outstanding service. The staff were among the best I have ever encountered. I’ll be back.
- Francis (8/5): Pleasant weekend stay! - Great weekend stay at the resort - facilities were okay, room very big and spacious, aircon was cold, nice size bathroom.
Restaurant is nice and simple, food was good enough.
Plants though were dry all around, staff said it’s due to the heat. I’m sure it’s nice when it gets lush and green. Could use a little bit more cleaning in the outside and surrounding areas.
- Colleen (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at La Chevrerie! The owner met us at the gate even though we checked in super late and she was so kind and gracious. The staff was amazing the few days we were there- just so helpful and accommodating. We snorkeled from the resort and saw lots of coral, fish, and a turtle! We ate multiple great meals at the resort. The food was delicious. We also found an awesome Italian restaurant walking distance from the resort. I got a massage in the spa and we were able to make use of the little fitness room they have as well. Definitely recommend hiking from the hotel to Mt Gulugud. It was a steep climb up but the views were so worth it. You can also get a car to the top too if you'd rather skip the hike. We loved our time here and will definitely come back if we ever make it back to the area!
- Faye (10/5): - Very creative design, clean, relaxing place! The view is wonderful and the room is huge with a private balcony. Will definitely come back.
- Michael (8/5): - Everything about the property is almost excellent and the staff, except there is nobody to open and close the main entrance gate.
- DOMINICK (10/5): - The resort is very quiet and has amazing views of the sunset.
The rooms are very clean and the staff are friendly and just amazing.
- Jan Marvin (10/5): - Its not very crowded
- Gil (6/5): Le Chevrerie stay review - Customer service desk ends at 8 pm. Could not get my TV fixed till the next day.
Food selection is very limited. Had to go to next door resort, Camp Netanya for lunch. Breakfast selection is limited and amount of food served is little.
Pool service and waiters sevices are great.
- Sabina (10/5): Very Relaxing ... - Had a wonderful weekend stay - very relaxing and beautiful setting. Doesn't have a sand beach but can go down to the water on a small rocky area. Staff was very friendly and helpful with great service. The room was large, with a large private verandah overlooking the ocean. Bathroom was clean. AC worked perfectly. Goats were cute but the 2 puppies welcoming the guests were adorable!
- Brenda (6/5): - The linens were good and good comfortable bed.
- Christian Joy (10/5): - Truly a world-class property. Clean, private, with large beautiful rooms. Love the balance of greenery/trees with the building/amenities especially the trees around the pool. Gave it enough shade to enjoy the pool even in the middle of the day. Convenient with being able to have food served within the resort and booking our snorkeling excursion was a breeze. Highly recommend.
- Jean G (10/5): - La Chevrerie is a gorgeous small resort right on the ocean. The staff is absolutely lovely, the food is quite good, the drinks are very well-made, and the rooms and beds super comfortable. The highlight for us was the ring of palm trees around the pool which was on the edge of the ocean wall (stairs down to the beach). It made the property shaded at all times, which not all seem to be. It was lovely sitting on lounge chairs at the end of the day enjoying the breeze and a drink. The resort has a dive center, and they call boats in to take you out diving or snorkelling (which was really great - the reef is pretty healthy and fish abundant). I also had a massage and the therapist was very skilled. The food is quite good - the only downside was it's mostly not Filipino food, and we wanted to taste more dishes. The restaurant staff takes your orders while you're sitting by the pool then they call you when your meal is ready so you don't have to sit in the restaurant and wait. The resort creates such a nice atmosphere that residents have pleasant exchanges with each other.
- Nathan (10/5): - Where to begin? This was one of my best vacations of all time. The staff were utmost professional and helpful. The onsite kitchen created exceptional food every meal. The grounds were cleaned and maintained daily. the rooms were extremely comfortable and private. I cannot wait to visit again.
- John (8/5): - It is a great place to relax, but there are limited activities and places to go
- Louis (10/5): - Beautiful sunsets great food felt private and very relaxing friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quaint getaway - Good accommodations for a quick escape from the city
- Anthony (6/5): - The rooms are quite nice, clean and comfortable. The pool is tiny so social distancing is difficult.
Food is OK, especially the soups. However, there aren’t many Filipino food choices on the menu (no pancit, sinigang, inihaw etc).
Main things that turned us off:
1) Many of the staff were walking around without face masks;
2) The small strip of beach front was full of trash after high tide. We were expecting that they would at least make an effort to clean up the trash but they just left them on the beach. I know it’s a hassle to clean the trash everyday but it’s the least they can do for their guests and for the environment.
- keel (10/5): Fantastic - Great staff and very relaxed atmosphere
- Lars (8/5): Small beautiful resort - Relaxing, small place
- FJ (10/5): - La Chevrerie was a nice secluded piece of luxury in Anilao, Batangas. Perfect to escape the hustle of Manila, and just relax to the sounds of Balayan Bay.
- Prashant (8/5): - Perfect place for a quick weekend getaway! Nice pool and restaurants within the hotel. Good diving spots also nearby
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is fantastic, with great ocean views and cooling breezes. Rooms are large, and reasonably furnished. However, the price/value equation is an issue. This hotel is far, far more expensive than local competitors, which would be justified if the service, amenities and food were top notch. However, service and amenities are below average and food is average. The arrival/check-in experience was marred by unavailable, and apparently disinterested staff.
- Olivier (4/5): What a shame :( - What a shame. It all started so well but went downhill.
The resort is pricey (dives, spa and restaurant), full of tour groups and the staff is not attentive. We booked a car to the airport on our last day, which was not reserved. We had to find an alternative solution which meant we arrived at the airport with seconds to spare. Too much stress which ruined our experience.
There are plenty of other resorts in Anilao which we will try next time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Marvelous spot with beautiful view and pretty intimate
- Verified traveler (8/5): - pros:
i like the fact that the swimming pool is covered with trees so the sun is not that intense while swimming.
the staff are friendly, attentive, polite and efficient
the resort has only 12 rooms so its not crowded, a must for those people who are after privacy or some peace and quiet
ample amount of drinking water is provided in the room
sizes of beds provided in the room are just perfect for families
cons:
beach is not good for swimming, its rocky. had to take a 40 min boat ride to a sandy beach ( well, this property is in Anilao so its a given, this must be a warning for those who did not know)
food in the restaurant can be improved
bath towels in the room should be changed, they are dirty looking already
- Edgardo (10/5): - Beyond expectations. Met my needs while visiting Anilao . Will visit again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great staff and nice spacious room. Room on the ground floor with small terrace. This level is next to the pool which gets the sun from around 1pm until sundown. The pool area leads to the restaurant at one side and the dive shop and spa at the other. The dive shop area also leads down to a stony beach. Along the sea front there is a continuous strip of hotels come dive shops.
Never left the property for 4 days.
Food at the restaurant is all good but found the fried food such as tempura greasy but everything else very good.
Went diving and all the staff at the shop, on the boat and the dive master were excellent.
The spa was very nice and had a very good massage.
Only drawback was the slightly shady pool (some might see this as a benefit) and that there's not really anything in walking distance other than lots of similar (probably not so nice) properties.
- Juho (10/5): - I had a very short stay, nevertheless, I really enjoyed the hotel and services, including the dive center. I had the pleassure to share my ride back to Manila with the owner of the hotel. She gave useful tips about Manila. No doubt I would recommend the hotel.
- KL (6/5): - I was so disappointed with this resort. Pool was nice. Room was ordinary for a supposed 5 star resort. We paid P14,000+ for 1 room with breakfast. Too expensive for an egg with boneless bangus and coffee bfast. No buffet! We stayed in other 5 star hotels/ resort with a lower price but always with a breakfast buffet.
Staff specially at the L’atelier, their restaurant was slow. Also when we said that we are celebrating a birthday if they have anything special even a little thing, the head said, they were too busy to bother and these things should be indicated upon booking. What?! There were only 2 tables occupied that night out of all the tables in the whole restaurant. Busy? More like, they couldn’t be bothered. Also a small card or even a scoop of ice cream or any small thing to give to the bday celebrant also to show that they are happy that life’s celebrations were spent with them.
Staff in the restaurant was just too haughty and lazy.
There were no toiletries given just a shampoo. No toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotions, body wash etc.
You call that 5 star?! What a joke!
- Alexander (10/5): Excellent diving - It was our second time at La Chevrerie and consistently excellent experience. The diving is superb (if perhaps more expensive than Philippines standards), the on-site spa offers very nice and reasonably priced massages and the food has improved, with a variety of nice seafood dishes, excellent fruit and nice combo breakfasts. Peaceful and quiet, too. The transfer from downtown Manila was long though (close to 4 hours) as the driver took a very jammed root instead of following sat nav.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a beautiful place. The rooms are big, comfortable and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and do whatever they can to make it a stress free stay. I would definitely come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Will definitely come back.
- Cee (10/5): - Everything was great
- Cheryl (6/5): - Our stay was average. Expected more luxury due to price. Just got instant coffee in the rooms. Food was not good. On a brighter note, the service was excellent, friendly & efficient staff. Room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with nice amenities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): An ok resort - If you’re into diving then I guess this is a good resort for you. Don’t get me wrong the resort is beautiful and the rooms are big. Check-in was a breeze. Sunset stunning! But other than that there’s not much to do in the resort. The pool is small. The beach is so rocky. No place to rome around. Everything is expensive. The food is bland. Not value for the money I paid.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful relaxing location - This is a beautiful and relaxing place with great staff, wonderful facilities, good food, and lots to do for diving and enjoying the sea
- Blair (10/5): Wonderful Staff and Amazing Resort - Amazing staff, beautiful resort. Very hospitable and friendly.
- Gary (10/5): I couldn't be more pleased! - The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were terrific and well maintained. We did the snorkeling/barbecue - its was a wonderful experience! Jojo could not have been kinder, more helpful, and was a terrific cook as well. Thank You!
- Stuart (10/5): A special place in paradise - La Chevrerie Resort is a wonderful place to stay, not too big that its crowded. The staff are very attentive and are always smiling. The food in the restaurant is top quality and with a 2 hour happy hour each day whats not to like. The resort is well positioned close to many of the dive sites so its only a 20 minute boat ride at the most.We will back again, soon!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - perfect! staff was great. we were lucky, the hotel was practically empty.
- shilpi (10/5): Relaxing and serene. - Beautiful resort with exceptional facilities- room, grounds, dive center & equipment are all top notch! spa service and food could use a little more work for the price tag. I was there for a weekend, pick up and delivery from quezon city around $200 usd. Took an intro dive the first day with an incredible dive master (Jess) and snorkeled for hours the second. Staff is very accommodating, even let me stay until 6pm and use my room after check out the next day. Overall amazing experience, will be back!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet and relaxing resort - Nice and quiet small resort. Don't expect nightlife, nor at the resort, nor nearby. Just relax.
Only a dozen of rooms, all with great ocean view. Room, bathroom and balcony were spacious. New modern contemporary design and decoration. Room had all the expected amenities, including hairdryer, safe, premium cable TV and Wifi (throughout the resort). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice pool and pool area, shaded by palm trees. Small beach with rocks and pebbles, no sand beach.
Restaurant offers a variety menu. The food is good, but not exceptional. Short but interesting wine and liquor selection. Breakfast fell a little short, though food was plenty: no jam, crepe too thick and undercooked. Home-made bread was delicious though.
Resort has a state-of-the-art scuba diving center, with full gear rental, day or night diving excursions, beginner/refresher courses, certifications and nitrox diving. Snorkeling trips available too.
Also, resort has a spa with a good selection of massages in a relaxing setting. Staff is friendly and professional. Could have some inspirational background music, though.
Annoying were two little dogs with cones around their neck, which were strolling around the pool and in the restaurant, constantly scratching themselves (fleas?, disease?). I believe the dogs belonged to the resort owner/manager. We complained a few times, as some other guests, but they kept on reappearing after disappearing for a short while. Not nice...
guests. Each time,
- Michael (8/5): Great resort however food not so much. - Cons
- 2nd time at the resort. Food is what brought us back to the resort. However, the 2nd time around and apparently a new chef/cook (according to staff, since our last time there) results in a never coming back.
The food experiences in the 2 nights we stayed ranged from inconsistencies where the soup purchased on day one tasted and looked entirely different on day two. Sent it back on day two and they actually brought it back out with additional spices thrown in but still tasted and looked like dirty water. Ordered deep fried fish with french fries served with tarter sauce. The order, due to 5 other tables being served took 45 plus minutes to deliver, with obviously cold fries being refried and now heavier then a brick and saturated in deep fried oil, and no tarter sauce. When asked for new fries and tarter sauce, we were advised after 10 minutes the kitchen was backed up and there would be no time to make tarter sauce. Fries never came out, and after 20 minutes we signed our bill and left. The Kung Pao Chicken was not remotely close to the photo in the menu and from our first visit, last year, to this visit the dish turned into a tasteless, bland, yellowish gravy of tasteless, no spice mess. Cheese and pepperoni pizza resulted in a foul bleu cheese added. Disgusting.
- Sam (10/5): Lovely small hotel, perfect for a relaxing break - My husband and I recently had a very relaxing stay at the hotel for 4 nights during a longer trip to the Philippines. Our room was clean, bright, modern and very comfortable. We found staff at the hotel to be welcoming, friendly and accommodating. There was a good choice of food available at the onsite restaurant to cater for a diverse range of nationalities; we ate breakfast and dinner there. We took the snorkelling trip with the beach BBQ which we felt was good value for money. The coral beach was lovely with shaded seating available to rest under. The reef which was accessible from the beach for snorkelling was a disappointment; while we saw a variety of different fish the coral itself looked very sorry for itself (brown and lifeless - a likely consequence of this being the area used for boats to dock which visit the island). That said the trip was overall a nice couple of hours away from the hotel and an opportunity to see some more of this beautiful area of the coastline.
- Sharon (10/5): amazing - very nice place to chill and relax, amazing view, very friendly and accomodating staff, I would defenitely recommend this resort to my family and friends.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful & Relaxing - It's was a great holiday, the place is beautiful, quiet and calm :) perfect for a weekend getaway to relax :)
