- 207en (8/5): Great renovated motor lodge, check out too early! - This is a FUN little motor lodge with 5 renovated airstreams for a unique stay plus rooms. Very clean, and well appointed, breakfast was disappointing and check out at 10 am is absolutely ridiculous!! But the rooms are good so it makes up for a lot!

- Gypsea Wanderer (10/5): Amigo! A quiet comfy place to stay in Salida! - We live in the area but had a couple getting married at our place so we stayed at the Amigo! We have had friends and family stay here many times but finally stayed ourselves. It was very comfortable and quiet! The room set up is perfect for 2 people. Comfy bed! Bathroom is spacious and has a tub! The room was simple and practical and is very relaxing. The reception lobby is ideal and staff are super friendly and nice to talk with. The hot tub is a bonus! It was a quiet stay for good sleep! Not complaining just suggestions... Pillows are a little flat but thats only because I like them plumper. It was nice to just relax until 7:30 to wait for coffee but my partner is impatient. HAHA. Maybe the coffee could be out in the "4 seasons" room? Our room ( Room 2) was a bit warm and still seemed to generate heat though we had the thermostat on the lowest it would go... and I didn't check with front desk on this.
- Tory (9/5): A friendly and cute place to stay in Salida! - I've been coming to Amigo for years and it's always a lovely little oasis. I come about once a year for staycations/ work retreats/ celebrations. The small breakfast items are a nice touch- I like that you can grab a hot oatmeal and coffee to start your day. I appreciated having HDMI cords to connect the tv to my devices too! I think I only noticed this because I've been coming here year after year and because I spent more time than expected in the airstream due to bad weather- but I was surprised that a lot of the decor and extra comfort and aesthetic items had been removed. Even things that are shown in the photos are no longer there, like the record player, little plants and books, extra throw pillows and outdoor blanket, and the side table by the bed. It just felt less cute and cozy than it has in the past which tends to be why I opt for the airstreams in the first place. The reusable coffee mugs have also been replaced with disposable, which I can understand may be more convenient but I missed having the option to refill a mug. If these changes are due to visitors stealing the items, that's such a bummer, but I would hope it would just be taken out of the deposit and replaced for future visitors.

I had to arrive after their lobby was closed and they left my key in a lockbox for easy access during after hours. Good experience overall!

- wildflower514 (10/5): second time staying here and it is still awesome - this was our second time staying here and it is still awesome. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and very tastefully decorated. The retro theme is great. Parking is right in front of the door and the chairs outside each room are nice for just enjoying the the little oasis off the street. Even though the motel is right by the street it’s back in and there’s very little street noise. They have cute airstream trailers for rent but they don’t have bathrooms in them and it’s necessary to use the facilities offered a few steps away from them. There’s coffee and breakfast snacks in the office and a nice little room with a fireplace. Very cozy atmosphere.

- Jayne (8/5): Clean but funky retro motor lodge in Salida - The room was clean, large and had comfortable beds. The bathroom area was small but modern and attractive. The front desk staff was very helpful. I appreciate having a room with 2 beds. The room was sparsely furnished with seating options that were a little too funky for older people. A luggage stand or other surface to put a suitcase on would have been helpful. The furnishings are definitely retro so this room might be a little too unique for some people.

Easy parking. Great staff. Kate is the best. And to top it off as needed grab when you want glass water bottles from the lobby fridge. I’d stay longer but the word is out and no availability for my stay in Salida. Stay here.

- Angela (8/5): Good for the price - I stayed here with my family for a one night stop over on our way to another destination in Colorado. I wanted to stay int he Airstream but it was a bit tight so the front desk let us move to a standard motel room with 2 queen beds. The rooms weren't fancy, but they worked and the beds, which is the most important to me, were very comfortable. The shower was clean and the water pressure and temp was great too. I'd love to come back and stay in an Airstream when it's just two of us. The staff was friendly and attentive and there is coffee in the lobby (a plus). I recommend this lodge for a short stay.

The bed cover in the main bed is warm and comfortable. It the bunk bed it gets quite cold in the night when outside temperature is at around 42F. You have to switch on heating, which is noisy when it starts up everytime.

We loved everything else, the whole experience was great, nice and neat and clean. They have a great hot tub as well. We would have also liked if they came to clean the room daily or bi daily even, we were there for 4 days and never got clean towels or a made bed, we had to go get towels from the Jacuzzi area.

Rooms have window cooler for A/C that pretty much runs constantly so a bit noisy for myself to sleep through. I'd stay in a place like this any day over the generic hotels. Great spot for a nice walk in to town and easy access to getting back on the road. Loved the stay, want to come back.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Love it and coming back soon!! - Our stay at the Amigo was lovely. We were in Salida for two nights and absolutely loved the Amigo. Our room was clean and in perfect condition. I love that we had 4 bath towels, 4 hand towels and 4 wash cloths. There was always someone available to help with anything we needed. Love the fridge and fan in the room too. Sheets could have been better. Bamboo sheets on Amazon are fab! We will be back for sure!

- Lisa (10/5): Stay HERE for unique experience - I surprised my husband with this "glamping" experience on a Colorado roadtrip getaway. I highly recommend staying in the Velma -- an Airstream. It was very fun. The staff is SO NICE and everything was very clean and well-maintained. The towels were plush and the grounds had a fire pit, cornhole and a nice big hot tub. The location is very convenient, just a short drive to the river and downtown area. The 5 Airstreams share a bathhouse with two nicely appointed bathroom/shower areas. They were very clean and we never had to wait.

- Jeff (10/5): Perfect!!! - We are on a 19 day trip out west, this has been the best place we have stayed. I was a little leery, i booking at a motor lodge, but this place was amazing. So clean, the beds incredibly comfortable, the outside area where you can sit and enjoy was perfect. You’re only 4 miles down to the historic District by the river. I would definitely come back here again and stay.
- Ron (7/5): King room smaller than expected - Didn't know there was breakfast. I paid for a large king room, but got a small king room.
- NATALIE (10/5): - Such a sweet place - comfortable, clean, great details.
- Deb (10/5): - The old-fashioned decorations really made the rooms unique and fun. Same for the area outside of the lobby. The folks running it were friendly and very efficient. If we come again we'd like to try the Airstream rooms. The only think I would suggest are some room darkening shades.....the light comes into the room pretty early in the summer.

- Joanna (8/5): Hipster motel with good coffee, great common areas, and airstreams - We love Amigo, the location is great. The rooms are cute and the whole vibe works for us. It’s always a good value, too. We prefer the rooms to the airstream. DVDs in the airstream, not a working TV- but the airstream has a porch and some privacy for sitting outside.
