• Alexa (6/5): Sadly did not live up to expectations - Pretty grounds. Our cabin was spacious and homey with nice decor. Nice hammock on our porch and around the people’s There weee two empty pool type space, one of which was quite an eyesore. The cabin was fairly dark and didn’t have night stands. This was the only place that didn’t have fresh water in the cabin; only tap.They only delivered one set of towels when there were two of us. There were bird feeders around the property but they were empty so we didn’t see the birds that others had described. Lunch was good but dinner was not and the family ignores us in favor of their visiting cousins. Be most places we’d stayed in had boxed breakfast for early departures but they only hades us two rollls; I even had to ask for a bag. Not sure what happened to the maintenance and service here as it had such good reviews but it’s clearly declined. Finally, it turns out the place is in the flight path for the airport so airplanes were constantly roaring over head.
• R James (8/5): A beautiful place - The single rooms are small, with no desk or area to put luggage. No heat, but I believe you can ask for a heater. Bed/linens are good . Bathroom fine. Certainly adequate, though. The much larger lodge rooms are excellent -large space, well-furnished, comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. Meals are adequate - breakfast and lunch fine, dinners a little sparse with entree only, no salad or desert. Personnel kind and responsive. Cute little chihuahuas that are non-obtrusive. Very safe and secure - don't worry about the poor areas you must drive through to get there. It's a haven Beautiful gardens, but you must ask to put feeders out.

The CABINS are excellent - large rooms, comfortable beds, and a nice desk for working. Meals are ok - entree only, no salad, vegetable, or desert. • Erik (10/5): Delightful oasis with birds in Quito - I have stayed here for years on visits to Quito. It is a wonderful oasis away from the bustle of the city, with excellent birds on the property. The staff are kind and attentive, providing excellent meals. I highly recommend staying here.

The property has beautiful grounds to walk around and it is closer to the airport than going all the way to Quito. When we arrived at 7 pm, everything was dark and we were walked to our room and told it was not necessary to register or check in. No information was provided about the facilities or food, and it seemed we were just to go to bed. When we asked about where the restaurant was, we were told they could only cook up spaghetti and it would be ready in one hour. There was no turkish bath/steam room, bar or restaurant available. We appeared to be the only guests.

• Kyle (10/5): My go-to place for options close to the Quito airport. - I've stayed here multiple times in the past few years, and I've always been very pleased. The grounds / gardens are beautiful and relaxing. The beds are comfy, the showers are hot, the service is friendly and reliable, and the food is good (breakfast included and you can request dinner for an extra charge). For a few extra dollars you can also use the Turkish sauna. This is my favorite place to stay for easy access to the Quito airport. The primary reason to stay anywhere in Puembo is for the close proximity to the airport. If you want to experience Quito tourist stuff, nightlife, or restaurants, then staying downtown is more convenient and fun.

• Joyce (10/5): Zaysant Econolodge is a very pleasant, enjoyable place to stay. - The location was perfect for me, close to the airport and to my family. The breakfasts were always good: fresh fruit, eggs, cheese or ham, toast, juice, coffee, or tea. Zaysant is such a beautiful, serene property. The grounds are filled with flowers and I enjoyed seeing the various birds. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. They prepared a dinner for six for us; everything was well prepared and tasty. I was glad to be able to extend my stay at Zaysant. I ended up staying there for 7 of the 9 nights that I was in Ecuador. One of the things I liked best was the private sitting area outside my door. It was the perfect place for journaling (tables with a bench in between) and a most relaxing hammock for reading or sleeping. Each room has one of these private outdoor spaces. Rooms are beautifully appointed. I'll look forward to staying there in the future. The weather in Ecuador during the rainy season is mercurial. There were two nights that were very chilly despite the 2 blankets and the comforter on the bed. Winter sleep attire is recommended if you are uncomfortable with cold. The lighting in my room was not conducive to bedtime reading. My reading materials were on my Kindle, so I was not affected. Others might want to pack a reading light.
• Joyce (9/5): Zayzant was perfect for my needs. I will definitely stay here on future visits to Puembo. - Zayzant is a beautiful, serene property. My room was very comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Each room has its own outdoor seating space, most with a bench, sofa, table and chairs, desk, or hammock. These spots are perfect for journaling, reading, or relaxing. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with opportunities for birdwatching. Children staying here enjoyed the soccer area. Wifi worked well and there are adequate and convenient outlets for recharging devices. Zayzant provides good bottled water for drinking on site and also for backpacking...so helpful. Visitors should bring a reading light for nighttime reading of hard copy books as nighttime lighting is inadequate for reading in bed. Nights have been chilly even with multiple blankets on the bed. Winter sleep attire is recommended.
• Debra (10/5): Really Beautiful Property - This is a beautifully done place and very clean! The women who manages it is very kind and competent! We enjoyed our stay a lot because of her (I so wish I remembered her name)! Thank you for making dinner for us (at a very reasonable cost), and serving me a wonderful glass of wine. This made for such a relaxing evening after a long days travel and before another long day of travel the next day. We were so blessed to be able to spend some time here before our long journey home and with the added bonus of the adorable puppies and their sweet mother and the beautiful humming birds! You were so lovely and took such amazing care of us, including getting up at 4 am to make sure our taxi came and to check us out! I would recommend this place to everyone! The only negative I have is that Said from Zaysant, who contacted me by what's app about picking us up never followed through for either of our stays (3/7/23 & 3/15/23). No one showed up to get us on 3/7/23 and he had told us by what's app that someone would be waiting for us with a sign with my name on it. There was no one there with a sign and we waited 30 minutes so then we had to take a taxi. This was late at night 11:30 pm and thankfully the taxi was very kind and we were safe. But when you're in a new country, don't speak the language, is it scary and intimidating so it would have been nice for them to have come through on their offer to pick us up at the airport. On 3/15/23 the same thing happened, he asked if we needed to be picked up and I asked him how much and if someone would show up since they didn't on 3/7/23 and he never then responded to me so we had to atke a taxi again. This time not scary as it was 4 pm and we'd already done it once. Just make sure at the airport you get a taxi that is registered with the city and that you ask them how much it will be before you get in the car. We had no problems becasue that is what we did.

We are staying there again on our return from Galapagos before we take our flight back home and I couldn’t be more excited to get to experience this place again! • Rupert (9/5): Perfect place to stay for a few nights if you have a stop over in Quito airport. Especially for kids - Breakfast was lovely. When we arrived we were offered dinner, which was spaghetti Bolognese, and it was delicious! Then when we came to pay the bill we were charged 12 dollars a plate. Seems like a lot of money for a simple plate(with no extras like salad, wine or beer). Luckily they didn't charge for our 4 year old girl!

• David (9/5): Superb - A beautiful place to spend a few days after travelling or to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of Ecuador before leaving. The host was very welcoming and helpful, not to mention the delicious meals she makes. The room was lovely, spacious, unique, comfy beds and pillows and right next to the gardens with the sound of water features in the background. I could have stayed longer and will certainly stay again. Thank you. A little out of the way but that is also its strong point

• Terry (10/5): Amazing property! - The property is beautiful and relaxing. There are many places around property that you can sit and relax, or use the hammocks outside room. My room/bed was large and amazing with all the wood features. Shower large and hot water. Breakfast is included, lunch and dinner offered and provided for a reasonable cost and all meals were delicious. It is an easy walk into Puembo village, there is a lovely town square with park benches and trees. Taxi to and from airport were arranged. I would definitely stay again and would suggest more than just a quick overnight airport stay.

• Constance (8/5): Very good - Lush and green and just far enough from the noise of the airport and city to be remarkably quiet. The beds were pretty unforgiving on my aching back. The mattress in our room was thin, dense and hard.

• Brittany (10/5): Phenomenal family feel with superb staff and location - The staff, puppies and local nature was impeccable. Bonus points for activating my inner child with the trampoline and play area. This space is perfect when you want a nature filled BnB experience ran by a loving family and support team. The home cooked meals and the morning fruit juice…PHENOMENAL!! I also loved having a moment to jam musically with one of the owners as well. He played the guitar and we sang some songs. A special special place that I look forward to returning to. 20/10 would recommend. It was perfect.
