• Marc (9/5): - Cet hébergement se trouve dans un magnifique jardin luxuriantavec une très jolie mare aménagée avec des fleurs de lotus. La piscine est très agréable et bien entretenue. Petit-déjeuner très agréable au 1 er étage avec vue sur la rivière La propriétaire est aux petits soins pour ses clients, le personnel aussi... comme partout au Cambodge . L'hébergement prête des vélos pour aller explorer les environs. Attention : quelques travaux autour de la rivière et donc quelques nuisances sonores qui ne nous ont pas dérangés

• Jens (10/5): Wunderschöne Oase! - Eine absolut empfehlenswerte Unterkunft, die zum Entspannen und Erholen nach einem Ausflug nach Sambor Prei Kuk einlädt. Alle HotelmitarbeiterInnen sind ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die liebevolle Gestaltung der Anlage, die Köstlichkeiten aus der Küche, das Bemühen um die Gäste war alles sehr wohltuend.

• Stefan (9/5): - Das Hotel liegt wenige hundert Meter von der Innenstadt mit Markt, Restaurants etc. entfernt und besteht aus (19?) Bungalows, die geräumig, sauber und komplett ausgestattet sind. Highlight ist aber das Personal mit seiner großartigen Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft! Zum Frühstück kann aus einer Liste von Speisen und Getränken ausgewählt werden. Auch für das Abendessen gibt es im hauseigenen Restaurant eine gute Auswahl. Für die selbständige Erkundung von Sambor Prei Kuk und der Umgebung haben wir über das Hotel einen Motorroller eines örtlichen Vermieters (Mr. K.) angemietet, den wir unter normalen Umständen sofort abgelehnt hätten (Bremsen mit extrem schlechter Funktion, Lenkkopflager ausgeschlagen etc.). Dafür kann das Hotel nichts und leider gibt es in Kampong Thom wohl nur wenige Vermieter. Wir haben den Manager trotzdem gebeten, "Mr. K." im Sinne der Sicherheit der Gäste darauf anzusprechen und empfehlen allen "Selbstfahrern", vor der Anmietung eines Rollers ein intaktes Fahrzeug anzufordern.
• Jean-François (9/5): - Très bel ensemble de bungalows dans un parc arboré près de la rivière dans un quartier calme. Le centre-ville à pied est assez proche. Grande piscine très agréable et très propre. Bon petit-déjeuner et bon restaurant.

Unglaublich freundliches Team, eine kleine Idylle mit wunderschönem Garten. Auch wir haben alle Abende dort gegessen, weil es so lecker war. Wir haben uns für je 10 USD pro Tag zwei Roller gemietet. Wenig Touristen in der Gegend, dadurch ein authentisches Kambodscha. Die alte Tempelstadt Sambor Prei Kuk ist sehr sehenswert, kaum Touristen. Moskitonetz über dem Bett vorhanden, das war ebenfalls sehr gut und hilfreich. Herzlichen Dank an das gesamte Team für die tollen 3 Tage! -

• Hélène (9/5): Un lieu plein de charme - C'est un endroit plein de charme que nous avons beaucoup aimé. Notre bungalow était spacieux avec une terrasse agréable. Le jardin est extrêmement bien entretenu avec beaucoup de goût et de soin. Des vélos sont à disposition (pas d'une qualité exceptionnelle, ce point pourrait être amélioré). Il y a des balades à faire au départ de l'hôtel le long de la rivière, le soir la lumière est magnifique. L'accueil de la propriétaire et des employés est chaleureux. Tout le monde nous a aidés pour l'organisation de la suite de notre voyage et pour la visite des temples de Sambor. La petite ville est à 10-15 mn à pied. Bon petit déjeuner et bon restaurant. La piscine est particulièrement agréable pour passer un moment l'après-midi quand il fait chaud. C'est une bonne adresse.

• Pierre (8/5): Petit hôtel charmant pour une escale de visite de l'insolite site de Prei Kuk - L'ambiance familiale de l'hôtel, l'accueil et les propriétaires sympathiques et serviables, le restaurant en hauteur et tout en bois. La ville en elle-même, mais qui est un point d'arrêt intéressant si on veut visiter le magnifique site de Prei Kuk.

Le restaurant est très agréable et propose un large choix de plats et de boissons de qualité, le tout avec une belle vue sur la piscine et le jardin. Le prix reste relativement élevé pour le Cambodge. Il est également important de noter que la destination n’est pas très touristique, ce qui limite les activités disponibles et entraîne des coûts de transport plus élevés, notamment pour les trajets en tuk-tuk.

• Susan (7/5): The best place to stay in Kompong Thom - a pleasant stay. - This is almost certainly the best place to stay in Kompong Thom since hotel options in the city are limited. The hotel consists of a number of small chalets in a garden with the pool and dining room to one side. The rooms are quite simple - it is more of a rustic style hotel - but the bathroom fittings are good quality and seemed fairly new. There is a very nice swimming pool and the restaurant has a varied menu. The service was polite and helpful - and there were only a few guests at the time we stayed , so we were served quickly and efficiently. The location by the river is pleasant. The rooms are a little basic and sparsely furnished. There is no where to sit inside the rooms - only two chairs on the small outside area. One other review mentions the cleanliness and I would agree that perhaps the rooms are not as clean as they might be. There is continuous quite intrusive bird sound which we realised, after a while, must be a bird scaring device on a nearby building - it started to get quite annoying by day 2.

C'est le grand point fort de cet hôtel, avec la jolie maison cambodgienne pour les très bons petits déjeuners, la piscine et la verdure. Peut-être que quelque chose pourrait être fait pour réduire les ouvertures des bungalows avec l'extérieur (grandes ouvertures sous les portes p.ex)

• Beatrice (9/5): Es war ein schöner, entspannter Aufenthalt in toller Atmosphäre und Umgebung. - Schöne Bungalow Anlage in gepflegtem tropischen Garten mit vielen Vögeln und Schmetterlingen und gut unterhaltenem Pool. Nahe bei der Stadt und doch ruhig, fast ländlich am Fluss gelegen. Das Personal ist liebenswürdig und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Essen ist sehr gut. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und unseren Aufenthalt von vier auf sieben Nächte verlängert (was beim Personal für grosse Freude gesorgt hat, da die meisten Gäste nur kurz bleiben). Es gibt in der Umgebung - mit dem Mietmotorrad, vom Hotel organisiert - viel zu sehen. Es ist ein toller Ort um zu entspannen. Falls wir wieder in der Gegend sind, werden wir sehr gerne wieder hier übernachten.

• Veidi2002 (9/5): Schöne Anlage am Fluss - Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb jedoch nah genug um in die Stadt zu gehen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Die Bungalows sind sehr schön angelegt und man kann auf der Terrasse schön sitzen. Die Türen sind teilweise undicht und es können Insekten oder Spinnen eindringen.

• isabelle (9/5): - Cet hôtel était au dessus de notre budget habituel mais nous voulions nous arrêter à Kampong Thom et il n'y avait pas trop d'autres choix. Nous n'avons pas regretté du tout notre réservation car l'hôtel était vraiment charmant : de jolis bungalows, des fleurs partout, une très belle piscine, très calme mais en même temps tout proche du centre ville. Nous voulions un scooter et ils ont pu s'occuper de la réservation et nous mettre le scooter à disposition pour notre arrivée. Nous avons aussi fait un tour avec le bateau de l'hôtel sur la rivière qui était super et d'un bon rapport qualité prix. Rien à voir avec l'hôtel mais les environs de Kampong Thom sont vraiment superbes. Parmi les plus beaux paysages de nos presque 3 semaines au Cambodge : des rizières superbes avec des palmiers à sucre partout Tarif plus cher que ce que nous avons eu ailleurs au Cambodge pour une qualité similaire

Breakfast was excellent with many home made products. Nice bed and shower. Staff was super friendly. We stayed one night longer because we liked it so much. This is probably the best place in town. Cleanliness of bungalows inside can be improved. Dinner and cocktails were ok but not excellent.

Les chambres et le jardin sont très superbes, la grande piscine au milieu des palmiers est top. La piscine est très agréable après une journée de visite. Le personnel, très souriant, est à l’écoute et aux petits soins des clients. Les repas sont délicieux . Noirs avons savouré la qualité des cocktails. Un service de laundry, à l extérieur de l’hôtel, est possible et appréciable.

• Clive (8/5): - The staff here were such lovely people...they were always helpful, happy, warm and smiling. They made us feel so much at home. The hotel is a group of bungalows nestled in lush green gardens with a beautiful pool area and just across the road from the river. It's not in the centre of town but only a short bike ride or tuk tuk away. There is also an excellent restaurant here specialising in local dishes...our food was delicious. Rooms were clean and serviceable...no complaints. Overall, highly recommended.

The pool was wonderful. The lush vegetation and outside decor added to the enjoyment of our stay. I would definitely stay at Sambor Village Hotel again. Bicycles are provided free of charge to ride around the village.

• Gary (9/5): Heel fijn mini-paradijs in een toch wel drukke stad! - De sfeer is erg fijn: relaxt en het personeel maakt dat je je heel welkom voelt. De kamers zijn aparte huisjes en geeft een heel ander gevoel dan een massa hotel. Het zwembad was fijn om af te koelen na een bezoek aan Sabor Prei Kuk. De paraplu’s lagen klaar toen het ging regenen! En ze hebben hoede contacten voor toertjes of chauffeur naar de volgende bestemming. De eigenaresse is een fijne Cambodjaanse dame en ze heeft fijn personeel! Beetje onderhoudswerkzaamheden maakte het wat ongemakkelijk, maar dat duurde zeker niet de hele dag.

The location is ideal, and the property itself is a hidden gem—lush with tropical greenery and full of charm. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, the bathroom was modern and spotless, and the pool was a welcome treat after a hot day of exploring. The staff are warm and attentive, always ready to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was delicious—one day it was a buffet, the next à la carte, likely based on guest numbers, but both were great. We found this hotel to be excellent value for money. Just a heads-up: with all the greenery, the occasional gecko may sneak in—but that’s part of the charm of staying somewhere so connected to nature. Highly recommended.

• John (8/5): Very nice hotel with individual chalets in a garden setting and excellent pool - The staff were really good at all times, very friendly and helpful. The ginger welcome Drink is delicious. The garden setting was very nice. The pool and the whole area around it and the restaurant were excellent. The room was big and spacious. The breakfast was good too. The restaurant food is very good,though a bit pricier than normal (to be expected). The temples 31km away are well worth a visit. Of course, they are nowhere near as big as Angkor Wat but the setting is unique, a really special atmosphere. Way better than we expected, don't miss them! The town Kampung Thom was good too, It's a short walk from the hotel (800m) and there is loads of activity along the river with very friendly locals, delighted to pose for photos and to have their photos taken with you. Plenty of good restaurants too, if you don't want to eat at the hotel all the time The bikes - the hotel offers free bikes which sounds great until you see them and sit on them. Abysmal, unmaintained, wrecks! We still used them, even with almost no brakes, rust and dust everywhere. What could be a great experience is more a trial of patience. A huge letdown. This is also the only hotel in our 12 days in Cambodia which added 3% for paying by credit card - a little disappointing for such a hotel
