• Robert J (10/5): Tam Thanh Beach Resort near the amazing Mural Village is worth the trip away from the Hoi An/Da Nang Crowds. - Large units within steps of the beach with decks. The Mural Village 1.8k down the roadway along the beach was my favorite experience in central Vietnam, and I was the only tourist, no one goes. Resort is cozy, only about 12 units and staff is incredible. No complaints

Abbiamo affittato tramite la reception uno scooter e abbiamo esplorato i dintorni. Si tratta di un villaggio di pescatori autentico, molto tranquillo. Noi eravamo in bassa stagione, e c'erano pochissimi turisti. Il personale della reception è ristorante molto gentili. La colazione abbondante e ottima. Ci torneremo! Consigliatissimo! Tutto bellissimo, solo un piccolo problema con la vasca/doccia (usciva acqua sul pavimento), tutto risolto con asciugamani aggiuntivi

Đội ngũ nhân viên phục vụ rất tuyệt vời, tất cả mọi thứ tại đây đều rất đáng để thử. Có lối xuống biển riêng, bãi biển đẹp, trong, cát thoải, rất phù hợp với việc tắm biển. Nếu như có xe chở hành lí của khách vô tận phòng thì sẽ tốt hơn

Gutes Restaurant. Direkt am Strand. Aufgrund der geringen Auslastung würde aus dem Frühstücksbuffet ein sehr abgespecktes Frühstück, dass man vorbestellen musste. Nicht jede Auswahl wurde auch am morgen serviert.

Fin morgenmad og god kaffe😊 Der var kun koldt vand i bruseren. Rengøring middelmådig. Vi var nærmest de eneste gæster, men alligevel fik vi kun et værelse med meget kedelig udsigt. Her kunne de godt have upgraded.

• Klose (10/5): - Das Personal war super freundlich, und hat alle Wünsche möglich gemacht. Der Bungalow war sehr nett, erste Reihe am Strand, etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber super super sauber, deshalb gar kein Problem. Schade war, dass es außerhalb des Hotels kaum Möglichkeiten gab zu verweilen, die meißten Restaurants am Strand waren geschlossen, vielleicht ist Januar aber auch nicht die richtige Zeit. Das drum herum ist aber sowieso noch sehr in den Kinderschuhen. Wir wollten uns einfach nur erholen, und das kann man in dem Hotel sehr hut, Strand vor der Türe, Pool auch, und sehr leckeres Essen im Hotel zu kleinen Preisen. Sehr empfehlenswert.

• Klaas en Anja (10/5): - Prachtig resort aan het strand. Wij hadden kamer nr: 101 deze is met zeezicht en direct naast het hele grote en schone zwembad. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid en goed. Diner is ook erg goed. Engels is beperkt maar Google translate lost alles op. De kamers worden elke dag schoongemaakt en voorzien van schone handdoeken. Deze accommodatie kan ik aanbevelen. ☆☆☆☆☆ Niets, alles was prima 👍

• Alex (10/5): Pleasantly surprised. - Great location, literally beach front. Villa/Room was spacious, and the A.C. worked exceptionally well. The Bed was one of the comfiest I have had the good fortune to use, in Vietnam, the hotel has been recently refurbished. Staff very attentive couldn't do enough for us. Prices are very accommodating to all budgets. Beautiful pool, nice restaurant. To coin the phrase, we will definitely be back. Nothing.

Horrible place to stay if you want to relax. Its a resort, not a nighclub!!! Everything else about the resort is nice, but if you cant rest on your holiday then what is the point.

• Jacqui (4/5): Disappointing, overpriced accommodation - We had a nice evening out in the village. The locals were very friendly and helpful. It’s a 20 minute walk to the Tam Thanh mural village, which was lovely to visit. It’s very run down. The rate is very expensive for the standard of accommodation. The photos don’t give a true representation of what the hotel is really like. We had booked 2 nights but only stayed for one and left a day early.

• HayesNZ (8/5): Away from tourist crowds - We stayed 2 nights in Tam Than. This hotel was not too busy and was a nice place to stay. The beach is not at all touristy so this hotel is not targeted at rich foreign guests. After being in Hoi An, this place was a relief from tourist crowds. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is a large pool which was great, although the sea out front is clean and safe. The beach was very much a local beach, but there are plenty of eating options (local, not fine dining - which suited us nicely). The locals are friendly and happy to sell lots of different local snacks. A great experience. We would return here rather than face the crowds of Hoi An.

• jajo12-6-2014 (8/5): Stayed may 2018 and loved it !! - This place is a quite piece of paradise ! Only an hour from Hoi An If you want peace and quite on the beach this is the place . We celebrated a few days of our honeymoon here and it was great 👍 will definitely return later this year when back in Vietnam

Know we didn't speak the language but it felt that's she didn't want to bother. Room great, but bathroom had a open brick wall, which we found let the mosquitoes in. It looked nice but not practical.

• Saltie55 (2/5): Over-priced and poorly managed - we looked for a quiet beach front resort as a weekend getaway from Da Nang where we live. We booked for 2 nights a beach front Villa (their most expensive room). On arrival it seemed ok, room was fine if a little smelly and the toilet and wash basin leaked but hey this is Vietnam! for 1 hour it was peaceful heaven then a huge party arrived for a company team building event. beach games in front of our villa with loud disco music and inane screaming on a tannoy was followed by a staff dinner next to the pool and our villa. 4 hours of impossibly loud and out of tune karaoke from drunken men and women made rest and sleep impossible. Next morning we went to breakfast amongst the debris from the party and as we ate the staff cleaned up. we checked out with no apology from the staff and they wanted to charge for 2 days. eventually they charged me 50% of the unused day. Robbers! No management on site and nobody to complain to. if they had told us there was a big event and a loud party in advance we would have cancelled.

It’s simple, relaxing and just what you want if you’re looking for natural beauty with the friendliest staff and management. Such an escape from the crowded beaches. More of a retreat than a resort. Can’t wait to go back.
• LNKHN (8/5): Good location - This resort is in a good location facing the beach and in the center of Tam Ky. Guest room has a nice view of the beach so you can see local people daily life. It is quite interesting. The room is comfortable but the design is quite normal. The restaurant has a great view of ocean but set up is not nice.
• trank475 (4/5): Damp smelling and mouldy rooms - Pros: Staff offered good services Nice pool with beach access Cons: Mold on walls, chairs, damp smell in room. We had to open doors for hours until that problem are solved. Bed sheet had stains on it.
• Yuknia (8/5): Really nice resort, beach and little town - It's true that the resort lacks a bit of maintenance and the pool was cloudy, reasons why I don't rate it as excellent. But for the price? It is excellent indeed. Spacious bungalows with huge bathrooms, cute gardens, meters away from the beach, swimming-pool has parasols for shade and if you request it, they'll take the beach chairs and parasol to the beach as well. Very kind. They offer pool towels. There's a small kid's club that our 17-month-old didn't want to leave (even though beware the mosquitos in the ball park). The beach was surprisingly clean and the ocean during our visit was rough for Vietnam standards, but did I enjoy jumping those waves! Many fresh and really cheap seafood restaurants within walking distance... we didn't have lunch or dinner in the hotel as breakfast is not that good.
• palace68 (8/5): Authentic Vietnamese fishing village - We have spent 3 weeks travelling from Saigon to Hue and wanted somewhere away from the bikes, horns and noise. This place was a shock and a relief Shock as it really was a non tourist area. Nearly no one spoke English After some google translate we got around this. Food was amazing. Fresh everything You could see what you wanted alive. Relief as it was so quite. Slept so well No cockerel No car horns No noise, just the sea. Room was nice but the resort was a little worn out. Pool as others have said, very cloudy If you want something different I would try it
• MsNicole79 (8/5): Great break from HCMC - I went during the off season time. The resort was quiet and comfortable. It is a bit of a way from ChuLai airport (VCL) but they arranged a car for me. They were attentive to emails and calls when I had to make changes to my booking. The resort has a nice pool with a towel service; the room was nice and big with a little outside space. The floor towel for the bathroom was completely dirty when I arrived and was never changed so I used it as a shoe mat. Breakfast had some western options, but was mainly Vietnamese--delicious. The pool and restaurant over look the beach and it is a close walking distance to the beach. Visiting the main attractions was expensive since the resort is quite far from most things. There are many restaurants near by. The resort restaurant was not that great for lunch/dinner. Seemed like store bought frozen food.
• Ming Hao (10/5): Not bad resort - The staff is nice and the room is clean, the facility on gym is also good. Breakfast should be more varieties and should provide the jam or butter for toast, anyway next time i will also choose this resort.
• F5633OBsamt (4/5): Out of season disaster. - We arrived hoping for a bit of relaxation on our journey from HCMC to Hanoi. Aware that we were arriving in the middle of off-season, we knew we wouldn't get the best that Tam Thanh had to offer, but feel extremely let down nonetheless. The room and bathroom were both nice, but rat droppings around the bathtub, mould on the ceiling in the breakfast room and a general feeling that maintenance wasn't a priority soon made the initial feeling of luxury dissipate. The phone in the bedroom didn't work, so room service came as a result of walking to reception through a downpour to order it. None of the staff spoke enough English to deal with any issues we had, such as "we are vegetarian, we did not order seafood" or "what time will our laundry be finished?". Breakfast was served quickly and though basic, was OK. Maybe our silly selves are to blame for coming here in early December, but some issues aren't excusable.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Authentic Vietnamese beach resort - Located in a local popular beach in Tamky. The resort has very authentic feel away from busy tourist area in Hoi An. Beautiful beach view from ocean villas. The beach gets busy by locals only in the late afternoon after 5pm. However, during day times, it gets deserted. The water and sand are very clean. There are a lot of local sea food restaurants nearby. The only issues with the resort are: The ground is not well maintained. The pool was not clean. It seems not filtered and chemically treated. They only have two bikes to rent and there are some small charges. The breakfast has ok variations but not fresh. Even though there are some negative aspects, we enjoy our stay very much. We even extended our stay. The authentic surroundings and atomosphere gave us the most memorable impression among 10 days of trip in the central Vietnam.
• AllanB124 (4/5): Different - As this is situated along the fishing coastline the local and hotel cuisine is very strong with the seafood and serve good fresh seafood. The sunset views of the beach are great, the beach relatively clean and watching the locals crowd into the water in the evenings is interesting. Unfortunately maintenance was lacking during our stay with the pool too cloudy and countless swimmer bugs for us to use although it looked much better the day we left. The grounds were well over due a tidy with the paths overgrown. The standard room was nice but needed a spring clean. A highlight was finding the settings on the remote so we had four english movie channels including GoT on HBO, and the bed was pretty good. We dressed conservatively when on the beach and only met smiling friendly locals eager to sell us seafood and beer. Must get up early to make the most of the hotel breakfast when it's fresh otherwise. We rode down from Hoi An on a scooter so had some freedom to get out and explore the countryside and coastline and found some beautiful places. Value is great, dig into the minibar and the Hong Dao. Key points are dress conservatively outside the hotel not bikinis and eat seafood not chicken. If maintenance and cleaning issues were resolved then it would be a great place to immerse into a seaside Vietnamese culture.
• Allan (6/5): Could be amazing. - It could be amazing but unfortunately it's not. Great little fishing village area with fresh seafood and plenty of local style eating, watching all the locals using the beach in the evening is interesting. The pool was too dirty for us to swim in when we arrived but was looking much better when we left. Great price for a nice standard room. Be sure to wake up first thing to get breakfast when it's fresh. Indulge in the great price minibar, vodka and rice wine in the room. Lacking pool and ground maintenance and that much loved Vietnamese service throughout, if it gets work and direction in these areas it'll be a charmer one day.
• 99JaneB (4/5): Stunning Beach - Shabby Hotel - Fancied a couple of days by the beach between Hoi Ann and HCMC, charmed by the Lonely Planet's guide's description of Tam Kai Island we found this place about 40km North and were impressed by the reviews. Sadly it didn't come close to the reviews. Yes the beach is beautiful and the cooling breeze makes the heat bearable, however it is mostly locals and stray dogs on the beach and I had expected an area for use by hotel guests - this is not the case. The service at the hotel is abysmal, the extra bed was missing, the bathroom was mouldy and we had been left a dirty mouldy towel on the bathroom floor. The boy at reception spoke little english. The pool could be fab but it is dirty and has fallen into disrepair (the metal steps are badly damaged with several steps missing - one of which my son found at the bottom of the pool). The tiles around the pool are filthy (not cleaned at any time during our 3 days), no one clears away the empty glasses at the pool area, despite the availability of lots of staff which seem to be only there for decoration. The breakfasts were unbelievably bad - the hot food had been cooked at 6.30am and allowed to go cold, the fruit was dried up, the juices had almost run out and the waitress refused to replenish these. The local town is mostly Vietnamese and difficult to organise food, drink or snacks however with a little help from google translate we found the locals to be charming and helpful, in contrast to the hotel staff. Wished we used our 2/3 days somewhere else.
• sveink897 (6/5): Beach resort ...remote - If you are looking for a place to calm down and get away from all the motorcyckels, this is the place to be. There is nothing to do in Tam Ky, but if you just want to relax for some days, it's ok. Rooms are quite big, cleaning is good. Nice pool and the beach is just 50 meters away. The food in restaurant is also decent. The place is also very cheap. If you want a resort for activities and if you are looking for good service, this is not the place to be. They don't speak English and the service is way off what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
• MaverickNL13 (2/5): A beach resort - We arrived at Tam Thanh and where welcomed by the staff with a fruit juice. We reserved two sea view villas for two family. Upon checkin we had a room with three beds, when we booked we made clear that we are with four people. With staff that speaks little to no english this takes a while to explain. House keeping brought us two extra beds for each villa. The room and restaurant are very nice what you would expect from a four star hotel. For lunch we ordered two different chicken dishes after a 45 minute wait we where served to identical plates with different sauces. The chicken was so bad that you would not even serve it to a dog. There where bones and feathers and a little bit of meat with big chunkes of sweet pepper and onion. The staff did not understand our complaint, after 30 minutes explaining they offered to make the dish again which was done in under 5 minutes. We got the same plates back without the bone.... Our request to speak to the manager in hopes to speak to someone who speaks and understand english was avoided by the staff for a long time. In the end we got the message he did not want to speak to us.... We still have two more nights to go....... The beach is very nice but at the end of the day swarmed by the local people. Western women wearing a bikini get indicent proposals from the locals. Local women bathe in long trousers and t-shirts.
• debbie113 (8/5): Quiet beach get-away - This resort is a great location to get away from the busi-ness of Hoi An, or other larger towns while travelling in Vietnam. The resort is small and has mostly villa styled accommodation. It is as described - the pool is gorgeous, and the sea is "right there" behind it. The sea view restaurant is easy for a break or outdoor meal by the pool with the sounds of the sea. There is lots of interest when you're not swimming yourself in watching the fishing village activity along the beach, and the activity of the locals on the beach during the morning and afternoon. The day is very quiet! The food in the restaurant is well priced and enjoyable. The staff are friendly and willing - English is sometimes a difficulty. The WiFi was sometimes disappointing and affected both the TV and Internet access.
• florem387 (8/5): Beautiful resort in a quiet place - Amazing relaxing time!!! The pool is really big with a nice view from the sea and the beach. If you are looking for a nice time far to the city and the pollution. Don't hesitate to take time for you in this resort. Unfortunately we were really disappointed of the restaurant staff.. they didn't speak english, and we waited long time for my meal, my friend had time to finish his meal.. But the food were good with correct price.
• Ho Nam (10/5): spectacular resort - A very nice resort near the beach, the location is remote but if you get there, very helpful staff, spectacular views and incredible room awaits you.
• pauldR8098CX (8/5): Brand new great veiw - Very safe no hassle mix with locals in opposite bar sea food ok or eat fish chips staff helpfull just a little grip water in shower does not drain and for some reason there where a few dead bugs in room when returned,some folks might react negative to such things but this place is a must if you dont mind the drive leaves all others in its wake do your self a favor and book you wont be disappointed pde sydney aust
